Nice hotel, polite staff. The parking garage is a tight fit if you have a larger vehicle (i.e. full-size, extended cab truck) especially due to the parking of other customers (full size SUVs in compact spots).

Excellent faculty! Loved the location. It is near many restaurants and the football stadium, which is why we were there. Excellent staff, lots of amenities. Highly recommend.

Good, but Not Great
The Courtyard is a decent place to stay in downtown Charlotte. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the WiFi is good. The service we received was very good.
The breakfast in the hotel is at the Starbucks in the lobby. The quality is good, but the prices are ridiculously high.
For some reason, we received no housekeeping service during our two night stay. The pandemic is no longer an excuse!

No hot water for a shower at 10:00 am 12-23-23. The mattress was worn out. We both were rolling to the middle all night. Hot rod cars outside burning rubber and revving engines all night. The staff was great, room was clean. The car noise is the entire stadium area. No hot water is bush league.

Front staff during at early arrival for football game were fantastic....they let us park, change& held luggage for us (they mentioned break INS happen in parking garage. Went to game, came back n room was ready. Night shift girl was pleasant and helped me with snacks & spoons. The 6am check out lady needs an attitude check & new job. She looked like she just rolled out bed and arrived to work. Her attitude was unpleasant but quickly changed when I asked what her name was.... Naturally I forgot but would remember her face. She checked us out on 12/18/23 at 6am. She wasn't busy & acted like booking through a third party was an inconvenience. The only thing about the room was being handicapped bathroom the water from shower runs out into the hall carpet by front door. Overall I'd stay again. I think the positives outweighted the 2 negatives.

Weekend Visit to Charlotte
This hotel is located in the heart of downtown Charlotte. It has a bar/lounge and good parking. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was clean. There was only one issue and I am not sure if was older carpet or what but there was a mildewy smell that hit my nose as soon as I walked in the room. The bathroom was to the right when I walked in, but the smell did calm down as I walked further in the room. H2, Rm 248. I would stay here again. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The two young ladies at the desk were very understanding and accommodating at check in. They did a fantastic job handling us when we were not in the best of moods. 5 Stars!!!

Great location. Walking distance to BOA stadium and restaurants. Clean room, comfortable beds and friendly staff. The only negatives were the room was a little small for the two of us, and there did not seem to be a full service restaurant

disappointed this time around
Hmm, a rather difficult review to write.
It's a small but usually (!!) ok hotel in downtown Charlotte, and that's its biggest plus. Front clerks were nice and friendly, not worries there. Roomwise, hmm. At first blush ok, but then some details were off-putting. Carpet stains in front of the sink and the sink was clogged. Ok, that can happen at no fault to the hotel or its personnel, but when I pulled back the cover of the bed, it looked and felt as if the linen had not ben changed from the previous guest! I just came back from another trip where upon arrival the bed linen was crisp and still uncrumpled. Not so here...
Lets just say, I slept with my clothes on.
I have been at the same hotel in the past when this was not an issue, and I hope it won't happen again.

Too loud
The front desk was great. The rooms have paper walls. I heard conversations on both sides. The beds are back to back so my headboard shook when the kids next door jumped on their bed. The room next to mine played music so loud at 230 in the morning it woke me up. I probably wont book this location again.

I was sent a confirmation for a king-size room but was told that none was available when I checked in.
Bathroom definitely needs an upgrade. Faucet was loose in the sink and spun around in the shower. Very sloppy paint job

The room was clean and comfortable and surprisingly big for an urban location. My only disappointment was that I believe I had searched hotels with free parking, but they charged $30 a night.

Room smelt musky all weekend. Bathroom light in room next door did not work & it wasn’t fixed by end of weekend although front desk was notified (family stayed next door). Handle came off shower on Saturday & water got all over floor so told staff member who was passing by in hall what was going on. He (Alex) said he would have someone stop by to fix it when we were gone & we returned several hours later to find that it had not been fixed. Anthony at front desk had someone come up & fix it and gave us complimentary breakfast for the next morning so they did rectify situation, but it was not handled properly initially.

I read negative reviews after making reservation and had concerns, but our stay was wonderful. I booked a night so we could go to show at Middle C jazz club and not have to worry about driving home. We were comfortable and everything was great with our stay. Next time we will stay 2 nights so we can hang out in the city more.

My friends and I visited Charlotte for the first time as an impromptu getaway… we initially booked this hotel because of the amenities within the hotel.. however upon arrival the pool happened to be closed for our entire stay and the “restaurant/bistro” opened later in the evening… Although we were able to exercise the outside pool area and lounge it still was not fully accessible. The hotel was pretty clean, our room had a strong stench of maybe the previous person and their pet. The beds were comfortable, however our room faced the pool which would have been a great view if it were operational. The windows are completely see through facing the pool if the blinds are not closed, which could be uncomfortable if you forget or are unable to notice. Overall it was a decent stay however I wished it had more amenities based on being an umbrella of The Marriott family and also based on the descriptions and pictures. I would stay again if it were the better of lessor options. Good for a quick stay. 3.8 stars based on pool not being operational during its open season.

The location is the best thing about this hotel, Courtyard City Center. There are tons of restaurants, museums, shops, stadiums in walking distance. The lobby is also nice. However, the room was smelly, chemical smelling. The bathroom had a water damaged ceiling and wallpaper in need of replacement. Beds and pillows were uncomfortable compared to other hotels I’ve been to recently. The pool was closed for maintenance and nothing was offered at all to make up for that despite the fact I had two clearly disappointed kids checking in with me. I recommend staying somewhere else in the area.

Likes: Quinton King was extremely understanding helpful in locating and returning an object left in the hotel room.
Dislikes: Checked in early at 1:00pm. Desk staff took my phone number and said they would call me when a room was available. Returned to the hotel lobby around 3:30pm and watched two other people check-in. Slightly before 4:00pm I asked how long before a room would be ready and was told rooms were available but they didn’t realize I was waiting to check in. Also, for the two day I was there, my room was never cleaned.
Obviously not major issues, but considerable flaws in service.

When we checked in, the first room smelled of smoke immediately. We asked to me moved. The second room was very musty and there was coffee stains on the wall and by the bedside table. They showed us a 3rd room. The housekeeping had gone in and sprayed it with cleaner and air freshener. Which smelled awful but it was better. Despite this the front desk was very helpful. The pool area was nice but given it was in the middle of the city and overlooked the road, it was very noisy.

Nice hotel and great customer service, BUT…
The woman at the bar was exceptional. We loved her personality and her customer service. Her drinks were amazing. My complaint is it was a bday trip for my husband and the room’s air conditioning appeared to be broken. We could not get the room to cool down enough at night and it was unpleasant.

The parking fee per night is unreasonable. Especially when stating absolutely, positively, there will be no compensation for any kind of damage or theft whatsoever concerning vehicles as stated on the back of the parking ticket stub. I believe if an exorbitant fee, such as this, is charged to guests of the hotel there should be a security guard in place to prevent damage or theft.

This Courtyard didn't meet the Marriott standard I'm used to enjoying. Elevator lobby areas were unclean, the room had an incredibly uncomfortable couch, and the uninsulated windows meant that on a Saturday evening, we were kept awake until past midnight (from the 12th floor) of the traffic and music from cars below on Tryon Street. The Starbucks kiosk in the lobby had very limited hours, so I was unable to get anything at checkin in the afternoon. The bar itself - which opens at 5 pm - doesn't serve coffee. We would not recommend.

Decided to spend my birthday weekend with Courtyard by Marriot Charlotte City Center. Wasn’t expecting a HBD card at this hotel or a free item but some lotion in the room would’ve been nice. A/C in my room wasn’t working but weather was nice and window can be opened. Wouldn’t stay here again, however.

Not at all what I expected!
The Hotel was ok, would have liked to have known ahead of time that the "Pet Friendly" means an 85.00 up-charge, and there was a 30.00 parking fee that equaled a 65% up-charge! Room was comfortable, but the furniture was stained, broken, and really outdated, bathroom was in pretty bad shape, cracked tiles, cracked drywall, broken toilet seat, all around the ceiling?

Property was OK. I personally found it pricey and my hotel room shower wasn’t working properly, air quality wasn’t pleasing and the conditioner was very loud. No complimentary water which is big for a big water drinker.

I cannot say enough about the lady that checked us in. She was very helpful and went above and beyond her duty. We were disappointed the pool was not open and she proceeded to call a few surrounding YMCA's to find one with a pool for us. I'm sorry I did not get her name because she deserves recognition.

Birthday Weekend
I let the hotel know ahead of time I was bringing my friend for her birthday. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left, the
staff did things to make her feel special! (Having staff come out to my car to wish her Happy Birthday the minute we arrived was unexpected and so sweet, for example.) The location is perfect, food and bar at the Bistro were perfect when we wanted a quick bite, and our room was clean, quiet and very comfortable. We’ll be back!

Great hotel. Comfortable, clean and convenient. Stayed for a concert at Bank Of America Stadium. Didnt have time to eat pre show and figured 1030/11 would be early enough to still get food. dining was limited and there was just no food options after the concert and the hotel had nothing in the "pantry" and the bar stopped serving food early despite knowing half of the nights patrons would be attending the concert.

The rooms are great if you are going to be staying for a while and need to work out of your room. Plenty of plugs. Property is a little tired and could use some upkeep like painting. Great location in uptown with lots of dining and bar options, as well as performing arts.

Location is amazing, very close to everything. Carpeting was dirty in our room and the AC didn't seem to stay cold, but bedding was comfortable. Overall good stay.
