Not sure what the terrible reviews are about?! Staff was friendly, place was clean. Conveniently located. Room was spacious and clean. Only complaint is the “breakfast “ very few options. Coffee was good! And, there was not mold/mildew in the ceiling where breakfast was served-it appears that there was a water leak…could they paint the ceiling to make it look better-sure but-it was not mold or mildew. For the price it was an excellent choice!

Convenient, affordable.
Ice Machine on 3rd Floor out of order - had to use 1st floor.
Outdoor Pool Looked Atrocious (Apparently had not been cleaned for long time - looks like longer than just being shut down for the winter.)
Minimal Continental Breakfast option.
Room heat/air fan extremely noisy - finally turned off in middle of night.
TV model is dated - not HD - appeared a bit blurry.

The area around the property and outside is dated and sketchy they could use a fence around the property - also there was a light pole that had been knocked on the ground and not removed causing a parking issue . but the room was updated clean and nice ...

I was given a handicapped room with visible signs of being unkept. There was a very strong smell of urine mainly noticeable when laying on the bed. I did not complain because I did not want a confrontation of any kind...it was my birthday :(

There was nowhere to hang a towel, mirrors were old and rusted, not one employee spoke to me other than the front desk attendee, the locks on the doors were old and the door barely shut. I had to slam it. We also did not have a light fixture to cover the light on the ceiling as you walk into the room.

Great and Affordable

Mildew in the room and on the ceiling over the breakfast area. Phone didnt work. No wifi last two days. Dust everywhere in the room. Toilet not bolted down. Stay somewhere else people. Place is run down.

Extremely dirty,
Sheets dirty, body dirt around the tub and hair. Nasty and dismissive front desk agent named “Tina” I don’t believe that’s her real name, pretty sure she told me a fake name so I didn’t write a review including her but she’s an Indian lady with glasses at the front. I’d call the police on her if I could she’s nasty and rude already had an answer before hearing my complaint about cleanliness… holes in the walls and stains on the sheets just gross. Close this establishment down. Jeff is the Manager from what she told me, pretty sure she lied about that too.

The room was nice. Front desk at checkin was courteous. But the second floor hall at times smelled like marijuana. And continental breakfast was incomplete..no fruits or variety on pastries. In defense to morning staff it seemed he was short staffed. Manning front desk laundry and breakfast so I can't really blame hime since he was doing his best. But yeah the smellmonnsecindn floor was intolerable at night. And in the morning.

Terrible service, as a matter of fact no service, no one never offered or provided room service and when we reached out they still did not provide the service. The Managers were lying about who they were probably to not have to deal with the issues. Customer sevice was not the best from the Manager.

Don't stay here
Our room was filthy and unsafe. There were exposed electrical outlets, light fixtures with no globe/cover, the lamp on the nightstand had an outlet that was dead, bed had metal brackets sticking way out and my husband caught his foot on it, no working ice machine in the entire place, pool was closed, room hadn't been vacuumed in a long time. Disgusting.

Super friendly staff, clean rooms.
Unfortunately, the single room I moved into had a water leak, so they gave me a double room instead, no problem. The staff is super nice, especially the night lady, and the breakfast lady. She accommodated me even though I was 3 minutes late for breakfast and she had cleaned up already.

Friendly clerk / bad smell in room
Front desk clerk was very friendly and kind her name is Brittany. The room was somewhat clean it had a bad old stale smell in the room. We had a walk-in shower for disable person the seat in the tub very old and the seat had lots of cracks on it we was not able to use it. It’s time for an upgrade.

I chose this property because I needed a bed and a shower at a reasonable price and it was close to relatives I knew I would be visiting. During my brief stay, housekeeping never made the bed and I once returned to my room to find the door had not been completely closed. I found the bed a bit too soft and woke up in the middle of the night with pain in both hips. Other than that, everything was fine.

Our room was old. The fridge leaked water. The bathroom sink drained very slowly, and sounded like water was dripping. Attention to detail was overlooked in the cleanliness of the room overall.

For a quality Inn and suites, this has been the worst one yet! I travel extensively, and stay in various hotels. The first thing that was wrong was the lady at the front desk. Incompetent, no personality, and not helpful at all!
The second alarming thing was the smell of the hotel, which reminded me of an old folks home… We checked in as a group, and in one of the rooms, the air-conditioning was leaking on the carpet. My personal room had a smell, and an overtone of uncleanliness, which alerted me not to walk barefoot on the floor.
Only a few blocks from the hotel, several policeman had a street blocked off where someone had been shot, and or killed!
In conclusion, upon check out, we were all relieved that this particular experience was finished. This hotel needs a lot of work!

The conditions of our stay were unacceptable and no other rooms were available. The room was not cleaned, stains on sheets/ pillowcase. Air conditioning did not work. Kitchenette was filthy. No manager available in site. Stay away from this hotel.

Nothing unique about the hotel, breakfast was microwave food nothing special, washer was out of order had to go to laundromat to do my laundry. Had to go downstairs to get ice cause the hotel took the ice makers out of the floors, the swimming pool was closed and will never be opened again. My wife wanted to sit and soak in the tub so when I started running hot water black built up mold from the plunger at bottom of tub started coming out into the water so I used a small towel and cleaned it myself and took out a lot of black build up gunk, you guys should clean those out once in a while, I told the housekeeper about it, one good thing was the room was very comfortable. I don’t think I’ll stay at a comfort inn again it was just not what I expected.

Sewage gases emanating in rooms was quite alarming. I was told this was a recurring event - every few months. Very unfortunate and unpleasant.
The breakfast is just a “grab and go” assortment of packaged items. It’s misleading to say it’s a breakfast, it’s an assortment of snacks and bananas.

The staff was very pleasant, and helped when we didn’t have towel replacements. We had to go get them downstairs, but that was because she was by herself. The room was clean. The only thing that bothered me was the bath mat in the shower. It was dirty and should be changed. We didn’t want to step on it.

So you want me to tell you about my stay, huh??! Well there is no story to tell. The racist owner denied our stay at the counter simply because my party of 4 were Black. I had a pre-paid booking for 3 nights, that were made more than a month in advance. With no reason he refused us entry. I travelled from DC to Portsmouth VA. If I were you, I would avoid this place at all costs, as you can never tell how this particular hotel is going to respond. Also, while I was going thru my issues, I heard another Black person hollar how the same man/owner/manager doubled the costs of their rooms. Avoid this place... They are nothing but trouble. In addition, although they refused me, they had more than enough time to notify me that they were going to not let me if, if that was there desire. Finally, they do not want to return my pre-paid booking. Now, I wonder what they would do to me if I stayed 3 nights, and walked out without paying???? They would have me in court the very next week... I am almost positive. Leave this place alone.

The property itself wasn't in the best neighbourhood although I did not know that when I booked. Further, there was no one at the front desk when I checked in. While I was early, I needed to leave the car to make an appointment in Norfolk. I was waiting nearly 30 minutes for someone to show up at the front desk. Further, the pool was inoperative and full of dirty water.

Rooms are terrible, dirty, my sheets were dirty and I had to change them myself at check in. Was up all night because our front door kept shaking or someone was banging on it every few hours all throughout the night. Would never stay here again.

This place was pretty bad. While the rooms WERE super clean, the comfort level is nonexistent. The beds were VERY uncomfortable (my wife and I like different types of bed and we both hated them - we got the two queen room) and have these bizarre little 9" square pillows that are lumpy and hard to sleep on. The 'breakfast' isn't the typical eggs/bacon/toast/etc that virtually every other hotel offers now.. it was damp gross-looking muffins, little cereal boxes, what appeared to be Jimmy Dead microwaveable biscuits, and yogurt. If the fee were 1/2 as much, maybe.. But at their price, skip this hotel.

Friendly and Convenient

Toilet leaked all over the floor. When we asked for a new room, the front desk lady said she only had a room with a King size bed (there were 3 of us, so that would not work). We asked if they could move in an extra bed to accommodate us, and she said no. We asked if we could have 2 rooms to accommodate us, and she said no. So we left and went to a different hotel. Apparently this place did not want our money.

Disappointed!!
We arrived and noticed a big red spot on our floor. We contacted front desk and they were aware of it. Later we opened the cabinets and there was no cookware or utensils in the kitchen area. Again, i called front desk and they said it was a $40 nonrefundable fee to use cookware. We ended up going to Walmart to purchase cookware and utensils.. Later that night I decided to get in the jacuzzi and to my surprise the jets were not working. Over all our stay was very disappointing 😏
