The property is outdated and it has some mechanical issues. However, the staff was very nice and treated guests with respect. Very easy to get on/off the interstate with little road noise. Definitely a good one night stop on a trip.

It’s an average hotel. They did tell us that we had to give them a 10 rating to get the wifi password. That felt icky to me. The pool is closed because of issues as well as the gym. Overall it was an average experience.

Good stay.
Our stay at the Comfort Inn in Grain Valley was fine. The room was clean. It was quiet which is a major consideration. Our door lock didn't work well and the stool was leaking. The elevator smelled of smoke everytime we went in or out. All in all we were comfortable.

When I look at the bedding to check to make sure it was clean I noticed the mattress pad was on upside down and the mattress was filthy with stains on it. The bedding was clean though. The front desk staff was gone when we arrived so house keeping had to tell us to wait or come back. No eggs, sausage at breakfast because someone called in sick and no one could do it. The front desk person left again that morning to go pick up someone and again housekeeping had to watch the front desk. Would not stay here ever again.

I was on the fence when reserving this hotel, Very nice hotel staff, great breakfast. Rooms were a little humid, but this is probably from weather and indoor pool.

The staff was great. Rooms and bathrooms were clean but need an update and are a little smaller than some other places we've stayed at in the area. Breakfast had hot, scrambled eggs and sausage, but was only average.

Nice staff, but property owner needs to do the maintenance on the facility instead of shutting down rooms. First room was good, second room had a bathroom door that was hard to shut. Coffee maker didnt work. Pool and gym were under construction for the last two years. There is also cracks in the ceiling in the entry way.

The side entrance doors to the property never locked at night. When I took my dogs out at 3am I wasn’t happy to find that I did not need my key to access the hotel via the side door to come back inside. Anyone could have come to the hotel and accessed any of the hallways at anytime.
The card reader at the door constantly flashed green which is what told me it was permanently unlocked. I noticed the same flashing green light in the card reader at the other side of the hotel as well at the same time. So I assume neither door locked. That doesn’t give you the safest feeling, especially when you are the first room just inside that door.
The pool was also closed at 10:30 am when the pool hours read that it opened at 8am. I did not ask why it was closed and was not trying to access it myself but I imagine you’d have some pretty bummed kids if they wanted to swim!
Lastly, we had a dirty (gross stain) washcloth when we arrived in our room which didn’t give me the best feeling about cleanliness even though we had no other cleanliness issues.

Wrong Room
The staff at the hotel was very pleasant and professional. Unfortunately, we reserved a King Bed room and got a room with 2 full beds. Very disappointed about the accomodations that we paid for and didnt get.

Amazing quietness in then room. Didn't hear people, doors, etc. at all like many hotels. Room was so well taken care of, Staff was lovely. Close to Hwy. 70. Slept like a log on very comfortable bed.

No cats allowed at "pet friendly" hotel
I made the reservation because this hotel is tagged as "pet friendly", and I'm making a road trip with my cat (moving cross country). "Pet" apparently doesn't include cats, the second most common pet in America. At check-in I was politely informed I'd need to take my business elsewhere. Fortunately, as far as I know, they didn't bill me.

The pool area was closed the five days that we were there. The room had a weird musty smell.
They need some 'slip mats' for the shower as it is very slick and there are no safety bars to hold onto.
On the positive side, the staff was friendly and the breakfast was good.

Could use a few more upgrades
The hotel had some upgrades to flooring, but the carpet in all the hallways smelled like carpet freshener that had been applied multiple times and never removed and then been wet. The beds were okay. They were not horrible. The fridge and microwave were VERY old and the fridge barely kept our stuff cold. The little freezer didn't work at all. The bathroom was very small and the toilet did not work most of the time. We had to keep taking the back off so the tank would fill so we could flush it.

Our room was clean and the bed was nice. It was reasonably priced. Probably not worth what we paid but it gave us a nice place to sleep.The night clerk seemed mildly perturbed that he had to check us in at 1:00 a.m. When I told him that we had a dog he checked and said that they didn’t have any pet friendly rooms, I politely told him that’s what we had reserved. He then proceeded with the check-in, slid a key across the counter and stated what room we were in.
Breakfast was a limited selection of fruit, yogurt, cheese danish, dry cereal or banana nut muffins. The waffle iron was out of order and whoever was responsible for the hot breakfast portion called in sick so there wasn’t any hot options. The manager apologized to my wife and I’m sure it’s hard right now to get enough staff.
Again, it was clean and comfortable and gave us a place to sleep.

Not a Hot Breakfast & No Swimming
The hotel staff were nice and the room was clean and quiet, but the breakfast waffle maker and juice dispenser were “Out of order”, and there was not hot food ever placed in yhe food warmers. They temained clean and unused. No bread for toast either. So it was cereal, pastries and coffee.
Swimming pool was also closed for repairs

This hotel was on the edge of town. Quiet street, but the abandoned van with flat tires and duct taped windows was scary! Right at the back door stairs, not even moved to a repair shop next door.
But on a plus, checkin person was great, and the bed was clean.
Would not stay here again.

We stayed here before and there were no issues. This time seemed very unclean and the smell was horrible, almost to the point I didn’t want to stay. The original price I had was fine but after many issues, the room cost over $60 more which wasn’t worth it. I really can’t recommend this motel and I will not stay there again.

The front desk lady was welcoming, fast, and informative. There were luggage carts available and parking was good. However, the toilet in our room had clearly not been cleaned and during the 1 night we were there, the smoke detector began beeping every 30 seconds or so.

Actually was pleasantly surprised. Some of the older trucker hotels in this area are rather old. This is a relatively new facility. Room was nice so was bed. I travel with my job I will be staying again

Do not stay here. The room smelled like smoke even though they claim they’re a smoke free hotel. The furniture was scuffed up, tv small, didn’t feel clean or cozy. My boyfriend found a bug in the bed. We ended up checking out early and getting a different hotel. Drive 5 mins down the road to the holiday inn in Oak Grove. Do not stay here. This place is nasty.

Good value for the dollar
The room itself was very nice, large and comfortable. The bed was great and the shower was very nice as well. Those are the two things I always want when traveling.
The only complaint I had was the noise from other guest. They were very loud late evening until way past midnight.
Other than that I have no complaints.

This hotel exceeded expectations! It was very clean and well maintained. The wifi was pretty slow which was a little disappointing. I was on the second floor and could hear every step the person above me took which was annoying but other than that it was a great hotel!
