I really liked the easy access in and out through the front doors without any problems checking in and out!! Great full breakfast clean rooms and friendly staff!!! It was a relaxing stay for our Anniversary weekend!!!

The staff were kind and attentive. Easy off and on from I-57. The room was clean, comfortable, and updated with a quiet efficient heating system. The simple breakfast was fresh and filling.

Older property, and it shows.
Property is well used. Needs updating, or at least painting. Doors and trim are scuffed, interior furnishings are clearly well used. Breakfast is spartan. Staff was fine, and as a room to crash in for the night at any other time it was ok, but for $400/night for Dads Weekend at U of I, it wasn't particularly impressive. No idea what their rates are normally, but they're clearly a step below the Country Inn/Hampton/Courtyard/HEI level. Lots of room for improvement.

Was disappointed in the pool availability. Binder in room said it was open Memorial Day through Labor Day. Sign at desk said the pump wasn't working. Online should've notated something. Continental breakfast was supposed to be served until 10AM on weekends, but on Saturday, they started putting things away at 9AM...only 20 minutes after we sat down to eat.

Staff was friendly and helpful from check in to check our. Cleanliness overall was pretty good- I would recommend a good wipe down of room walls and removal of the unwell plant by the elevators, but bedding was clean and fresh and bathroom was also very clean. My husband said the coffee maker was very dirty, but I don’t use those no matter what hotel room I’m in! The bathroom space is a little cramped but still functional. Overall, we were pleased with the accommodations as well the price, given the average room rates in CU for U of I homecoming weekend.

The staff was nice and did the best they could with what they have. Regardless, some of our outlets didn’t work, there was a weird smell that we had to air out, and bathroom was subpar.

Good place to stay
The gentleman who checked us in was amazing, so kind and friendly. I think he was still working the next morning when we left, what a trooper. He recommended Neil Street Blues for dinner and it was really good, highly recommend. The room was nice. It did have a damp smell to it. But, the bed was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was also very clean. Thank you.

We checked in but did not feel safe or clean at this place. Seemingly there were drug deals going on in the parking lot...just didn't pass the vibe test. We decided to not even stay the night.

Stayed here for two days. We were unable to lock bathroom doors. Carpets were not clean. If you walk barefoot your feet gets black. Food was average. Only waffles were good

Crackhead got evicted while I was there and police came.
Lawn was mowed and the back of my truck was covered in dried on grass.
Was awoken by other guests by 6am every morning.
Key card needed to get fixed the second day.

Door to my room would not close completely without assistance, security lock broken. Shower curtain rod not secured, so curtain would not stay closed, allowing water to cover the floor.

New doors needed.
It was fine. Only issues were the doors in the room. We stayed in room 104 and the entry door catches when you close it. You have to be sure to push it hard to close. Bathroom door was bad. It closed with a loud snap which can wake people during the night. New door are desperately needed in room 104.

The property needs some real updating. It was clean, slept well but could use a reface. It was graduation weekend at the University of Illinois and the hotel prices were astronomical!

Our room was dirty- the coverlet had crusted something in 2 spots, there were dark hairs on the bathroom floor and we found a kid’s sock in the bedding. Over charged for graduation weekend

I was very dissatisfied with my stay. When we first arrived the people in the room next to us were fighting and we could everything because of how thin the walls are. When we come back to the hotel that evening they were partying and being loud. We ended up leaving at 11:30 and drove 3 hours home. When we checked out we were not asked how our stay was or why we were checking out early. The whole experience was horrible.

The bed and pillows were great.
The overall condition of the hotel and rooms was worn. Couch should to replaced; corners were worn thru.
Breakfast as 6- yay. But hot food was lukewarm, tea water was cold, and no attendant to address these issues.
Definitely not worth the price we paid.

We were traveling and had to find a place to rest and most places were sold out. When we got to this place and went up to the room it smelled so bad, there was old trash from the previous person that occupied the room. When we spoke the employee he said there was nothing he could do about the smell, that it was due to the A/C being outside and a small draining being outside the window. I felt so bad, making my children sleep in that room and was worried we would all get sick. Besides the smell the hotel needs a lot of structural help. Putting air fresheners on top of the elevator does not help with anything FYI. Truly a huge disappointment and was so happy we only had to stay there one night before we reached our destination.

The room I was in had an inoperable telephone and
Lights that were not working.
The bathroom linens were old and some pretty thread bare.
There was mold on the top of the wall in the bathroom and a dripping bath tub that did not look clean. My guest and I would not use.
There were signs in the bathroom that explained toiletries were available at front desk if needed. This information was also included in the room binder. My guest forgot her toothbrush and was told by the front desk staff that they had none to provide.
The property looked uncared for.
The bed was comfortable. The tv worked. That is as positive as it was.
The breakfast that was offered had little to nothing to offer. We were grateful there was a Panera close by.
This is probably the most disappointing experience in my 30 years of travel. The $300 fee for one night is unconscienceable given the condition of the hotel and experience.

Baby roaches in the room and bathroom
It look clean but was not. Had little roaches crawling around the tables and in the bathroom. Didn't stay I got the hell out of there. Very disgusting and person working wasn't surprise and didn't get an apology.

Occupied territory by company work groups my week
OK: Room was comfortable. Hotel was cleanly. Pool nice.
Not OK: allowing some local company to host a new employees recruitment meeting IN THE BREAKFAST AREA during breakfast hours. I walked into a room full of strangers sitting at our eating tables listening to a job spiel. I had to elbow my way to get to coffee and food. Why not put up chairs for them in the pool area (or a conference room????)
The days I was there, it appears Quality Inn caters largely to vanloads of workers from other towns and states. They walked past my window and showed their car lights in my window, coming and going all hours. Very disturbing to other hotel guests. Perhaps one SIDE of the hotel could be used for non-traditional GROUPS.

Hotel is very outdated and clearly does not meet codes. Toilet rocks, mold in bathroom is painted over, outlet cover plate for heater in bathroom does not cover the hole. Carpet is filthy. Owners/staff were somewhat friendly, but I had to wait a while to check in because they were on the phone in the other room. Regardless, it was cheap and served it's purpose for overnight. I've seen much worse

Good stay but could use some work
Check in was a breeze and the staff was friendly. The hotel itself is need of some updates and renovations to make it more inviting. There are many hotels right down the street which are new and updated and so this hotel could not use some of these updates to ensure it can compete with the newer hotels. The room itself was nice. Beds were comfortable and clean. The bathroom was clean but in need of some tender love and care. The shower curtain was torn and the caulking around the floor was in need of some work. Paint was chipping on the walls as well. The room also had some paint chipping but otherwise wasn’t terrible. Having a fridge was excellent for those who may eat around the vicinity as there are many choices. We had some issues with the television not working properly and that too could use some updates. Overall I would stay here again because the price for one night was much better than the other hotels nearby, but I would love to see what they could do with some renovations. Choice just purchased Radisson Hotels so I’d love to see them fix up some of their older hotels because we love Choice Hotels In general.

Ownership needs to remodel!
Exceptional customer service provided by front desk staff. But... the overall condition of this particular Quality Inn is run down. Pillows, sheets, blankets and towels all were discolored and old. Seemingly, over ten years old. Bath tub and shower need replacing, updating. The hotel and room were clean, but to charge $350+ per night for a hotel in this condition is robbery.

I had reserved 2 rooms but upon checking in the desk staff said that there was only one room.
But my credit card was subsequently charged for the second room that we were never given.
I don't know if this was due to staff incompetence or the way Orbitz sent the reservation to the hotel.

Overall, pleased
I walked into my room, and the first thing I noticed was the musty, moldy smell. I looked around and there were crumbs on the desk. I checked the bathroom and the bath mat had food stuck on it. I immediately went to the front desk and told the host that the room was not good. He quickly switched us to a different room without question. The second room smelled clean and there were no unpleasant surprises as in the first room. Overall our stay was pleasant and enjoyable, but we're glad we didn't have to stay in the first room.

Dirty bath towel on ground at entrance to barely absorbed puddle from melted snow…our room was not cleaned…dust all over tv counter, rug not vacuumed, hair on pillows, gross!!!
I might as well rented at the motel 6 nearby since it probably would have been same level accommodations, minus pool, and saved some money!
I do have to say that the breakfast offering did have fresh fruit

We stayed there during a massive storm that shut down almost everything. We had to extend our stay one nice due to the storm. The staff was great and did all they could, but some thinks were completely out of there control. The room was clean and nice. Didn’t get much time to explore the area as it was all shut down.

The Location was great, the check in was a breeze. the room was clean and comfortable. I was sleeping comfortable and my room was booked to someone else and I was woken with someone opening my door at 03:30 am. Needles to say i wasnt able to get back to bed.

The picture of the pool was very old. The pool wasnt clean and the pool room wasn't very nice. There was something on the wall that looked like food splattered. The bathroom was small and needs work. It was not worth the money. But the breakfast was decent.

The only good thing about our stay was the front desk person. He was super friendly and accommodating. Our room, however, was so so bad. AC barely worked abs would just turn itself off for hours. Light switch in the bathroom keep falling off. Our comforter had weird stains. The whole place smelled like mold and bleach.

Everything in our room was damp, the windows didnt lock and we were on the first floor, and the air in the room was hard to breath because there is obviously a mold issue. Overall a really gross experience.

Needs to improve cleanliness
The hotel did not meet our most essential expectation: cleanliness. The bed looked like it had not been changed. We call the front desk and the guy did change the bedding. The room had some weird smell.
