Would not recommend. They have one, partially working elevator (35 story building) and you share it with the hotel staff and construction workers. Oh, and the bar and restaurant are closed for construction, hence all the workers in the one elevator. That elevator went out on day and we had to walk up 17 flights of stairs. The staff were great.

It was one of the worst stays ever. There was an unexpected water pipe burst in the middle of the night, around 2 AM. Everybody had to evacuate of course.
The staff tried their best to accommodate everyone's needs but were not prepared at all. I could tell there was no protocol for incidents like this.
They did offer a full refund and a complimentary room to stay but guess what, there was no water until the check-out time. Of course, there wasn't any advisory notice in advance. I couldn't even take a shower.
I understand things happen and not everything can be prepared in advance but such an incident could be prepared and handled better.

Only problem I had with my stay was being close to the elevator. Didnt want to complain to the front desk because of how busy they were. Definitely would stay again though.
They got me checked in fairly quick at night.

Our stay at Arlo NoMad
We stayed at Arlo NoMad for 4 nights on the 17th floor. It is a very basic and overrated hotel. I would give it an overall rating of 3 out of 5. The views from the queen corner room were nothing special because other buildings block the view. We could barely see the tip of the Empire State Building from our room. The rooms and bathrooms are very basic and outdated. You do not get the feeling of an upscale hotel here. However, the location was nice. It is right in midtown. We didn't have any issues with noise.

The hotel was ok, the location was fantastic as its a stone throw away from the empire state building.
The service was mediocore and staff could be more attentive. When I first came to the hotel, staff didn't even lift up their heads from their screens which seemed rather rude, if busy could indicate to another member of staff to assist?
The restaurant and hotel is currently being refurbed so construction noise. None of this highlighted anywhere.
The room itself is ok, none of the little touches ie small amenities. The urban fee seems to be items useless for any stay really - could be better use ie credit towards food/drinks or even more than two cans of water only at the beginning of your stay. There was supposed to be complimentary coffee, on the two occasions I attempted to utilise this, there was none! The rooms are not soundproof and plenty of noise from traffic.
I was sent flowers and I understand the sender requested for these to be left in my room. I had to call reception for this myself spoiling the surprise.
One evening, guests were being completely inconsiderate at 10pm. I called down to reception to sort it out, they seemed to be indifferent and not helpful at all. In the end, I had to say something myself to the guests shouting.
The cleaning staff all seem to be great - room kept clean.
Would I stay here again….no, pay a bit more.

Photos are totally deceptive as are room descriptions. Rooms are the size of a shoebox—even by NY standards—and beware: beds are not actually Queen, they are Japanese Queen which are much smaller than an American bed. This seems like an obvious way to deceive potential guests who would otherwise not book a hotel room for two people in a double. This property is nothing more than a glorified hostel with private rooms and bathrooms. There is a major cleanliness issue. Bed was full of hairs. The sheets are the type that retain hairs even after washing. The shower was not properly cleaned as it had hairs all over from the previous guest. Blackout curtains were torn and had dirt all over. Was very gross tbh.

I travel for pleasure quite often. And I have stayed at many many hotels before. But byfar this hotel has been THE BEST OF THEM ALL. All the way from front desk to staff to cleaning. Everything was perfect. I will most definitely be staying here next time I'm in town. If you're still not sure whether to book here or not. Let me tell you, DO IT!!! and when you go. Ask for Kevin. He works at front desk. Definitely the best of the best. Thank you Kevin for making my stay easy and a memorable one :)

New Year 2024 celebration
Arlo Nomad was a great choice and now added to one of my favorite places to stay in NYC. We came in from St. Louis to bring in 2024 in Times Square. Its 31st street location puts you within walking distance of the subway, bus route and all points of interest in lower and midtown Manhattan & Times Square. The hotel was beautifully decorated for the holidays and lively. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. We definitely look forward to staying with them during our next visit to NYC.

Firstly, the location of the hotel can’t get any better, lots of restaurants soon as you walk outside, within walking distance. Located right beside the subway and the Empire State Building. Once you go inside, the staff is very polite and offer great customer service. If anything is needed they would respond quickly and effectively.

Room was small but had enough space for the two of us and our carry on size luggage. View from the rooftop was amazing. The location was very centrally located for all the sites we wanted to see. Everything was clean and decked out for the holidays. Would stay again.

This is the best hotel! Yes, the rooms are small, but we only needed to crash there after long days exploring the city. If you needed to work or socialize, there was ample, comfy common space. Everyone was so nice, the beds and pillow were very comfortable and the location allowed us to walk everywhere we wanted - Hudson Yards, High Line, Chelsea, Midtown, even Central Park. We'll be back!

Nothing spectacular. Service was awful. No one really friendly or warm expect for the baggage guy and security. Location was ok. Seems like more of a hype hotel for influencers. Decor was lovely. Towels were rough. Bed was comfy. Room was dusty. Didn’t bother to update the welcome name on the tv. I arrived early and was exhausted. The gentlemen at the counter was cold. And lady when I came back closer to check in time was even colder. Not sure why they are so stuffy. Wouldn’t stay there again.

Quite good although I really would have liked to have an iron in the room not a steamer. Coffee bar guy was a bit rude in the am. At 6:30 am I went down to get a coffee. Front desk person explained only complimentary coffee was available before 7 which was fine. The guy making the coffee seemed annoyed out that I was there so early. He filled a cup to the brim with black coffee and handed it to me. When I asked if I could have milk he said rather rudely with his back to me “you’ll just have to give me a minute” then passed a giant jug of milk at me with attitude. I had to ask him to pour some coffee out so I could fit some milk out and he just seemed annoyed. Given the amount I paid for my hotel stay a cup of coffee (since there is none in room) does not seem like a big ask. Lastly the buffet for )24 was very sad. I skipped it. Otherwise all other staff I encountered were super helpful and friendly.

I love my 3 nights there, everything is walking distance. The most important thing is the hotel really friendly and helpful staffs, if u are early for your check-in, there is a beautiful lounge that you can rest and chill.

We had an amazing stay at Arlo Nomad. The hotel is in a great location and the rooftop has fantastic views of the city. We went up for sunrise and sunset during our stay. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The room is small but you don’t spend a lot of time in it so it fits it’s purpose.

This is the great place if you are looking for tiny rooms that you use the toilet and shower at the same time. The bed is basically the whole room! Wouldn’t recommend this hotel. The street was always smelly due to garbage piled on the street. You can’t access the roof top bar unless you buy something, even though pay a resort fee! Overall a nightmare! I have stayed in New York before and there are definitely much better hotels for a cheaper price!

We felt very welcomed! Being from the Midwest a warm greeting goes a long way. The rooms were on the smaller side but HELLO we were in NYC who is spending time in their room. Trendy vibe & decor! Elevators were a tad slow but manageable. We had a great stay, thank you Arlo Nomad!

I really liked the distance of the hotel to everything around the area, and also it's close to a lot of train stations. I also liked the options of food and felt like it was safe to walk around. The only complaint I had was that we had some noisy neighbors. But other than that, we had a really good stay.

The staff was excellent! Kevin made sure I got the view I was looking for and made sure I had everything I needed for a perfect stay. The room is small with a comfortable bed and nice bathroom. The view makes up for the size. The rooftop is a vibe. It would've been perfect if they offered appetizers. The Bodega has the best coffee, tea and pastries. They also offer drinks and snacks. Location is by Korean Town, many shops and restaurants. The most amazing part is it's around the corner fro. The Empire State building. I would definitely come back again!
