I had such high hopes for this resort. So pretty. Looked high end. But the staff were very disorganized. Communication was a disaster. Everything was slow. The food was mediocre at best. Took two hour to be served at their restaurant. A lot of waiting time. Very expensive good that was either over cooked or undercooked. Couldn’t get them to fill our shampoo in the shower until I walked out at asked housekeeping in the hall for a bottle of it in my robe. Dusty dirty rooms. Hair ties under the bed. Hair in the corners. Bees nest on the decks. Just not very well managed. The managers tried very hard to accommodate us when we got frustrated with the service and food issues. But, their staff was not good. So things promised didn’t actually happen. I even have to give this resort a 1 star for privacy issues. Even with the do not disturb sign on the door. The housekeeping would try to come in. Sometimes with out knocking. Or wouldn’t give enough time to jump up and stop them. Trying to come in the room at 8:30 in the morning. We even get walked in on when showering. Very disturbing. This happened all week even after we complained.

Beautiful property, lots of things to do off property, too like shopping. The beach was very close within walking distance. Beautiful views and nice restaurants. I recommend! Wish my room had a long mirror but other than that very happy with my stay.

The front desk staff was pretty rude. And they had the cheapest toilet paper! However, the rest of the staff was wonderful. The grounds and the beach are beautiful and spotless. The resort was clean and beautifully decorated. The bed was super comfortable as were the robes. Lots of near by places to shop and eat. My daughter and I had a wonder vacation stay. We will definitely be coming back!

1. Valet, easy parking.
2. The place was great but the breakfast was really pricey and we just couldn't get our room to get cool. The down comforter was way too hot for a room that seemed to never get below 70. The thermostat said it was actually down to 65 but it had to be incorrect. We keep the temperature at our house at 67. There's no way it was an actual 65° in that room.
3. I knew it was a luxury hotel but we were inquiring about some drinks and some type of candy. I asked if they had any type of vending and the guy to front desk reminding me it was a luxury hotel and they wouldn't allow a vending machine on the property. He come across a little offensive. We travel a lot now that our children are grown and more than likely will never return.
4. There's also a $45 a day resort fee which we were not made aware of. I was not sweating paying the fee, but had no We were paying that till after we left.

Hire more staff
The hotel facilities are excellent and beautiful but they are way understaffed at the restaurants. When we checked in, the room was not ready when it was supposed to be. No apologies or here go get a free drink. The credit card machine kept rejecting my card on check-in and I told them it wasn’t my cards, it was on their end. They told me I needed to call my bank but I could tell it was on their end as there was plenty of credit on those cards and the attempted charge was not even registering. It was only when another guest checking in had the exact same issue that they realized it was on their end but a stressful 10 minutes and again no apology. The staffing at restaurant is biggest issue - seems like they were not ready for prime time.

It’s a congested area and there is active construction at the property. It’s not much of a value compared to Watercolor or Seaside home rental where you get better beach and atmosphere. Staff was great though.

Is clean property, has 3 different pools, small gym, dinner are okay, but they’re better options out of property. Careful with the bartenders in Horizon bar. Looks romantic in the night. Is few min away from the beach, if you want sand only they’re better options and cheaper. Maybe I can will comeback

Check in was terrible. Front desk was not helpful and put my children on the couch because they couldn’t give us the room we booked. Valet is 5 star but front desk had a bag full of can’t do and won’t do 0 stars. I don’t recognize this place after all of these years staying here

The room wasn't as pristine as I had expected for the price. We had a hole on one side of one of the beds and that was unfortunate. One phone in the room didn't work and you couldn't call down to the staff. Room service was too expensive, but that's normal.

Hotel is absolutely beautiful. The only thing that needs improvement would be the wait staff in the restaurant Primrose. Specifically the morning breakfast waitresses. I still left gratuity only because I’m a good person.

This is one of our favorite place to stay we go several times a year. This particular trip was in January and my husband surprised me for my birthday with a stay at Henderson Resort. When the receptionist found out it was my birthday, she had a bottle of champagne and two flutes delivered to our room. Just a courtesy. So very kind! They have something new since our last stay, there is now a Starbucks machine that will make you a fresh coffee or a chai latte in no time for no additional charge! The rooms are beautiful with a beach-y look , very comfortable bed and temperature control.

Two nights in a row we could not sleep because of noisy neighbors! I was never told about the resort fee per night only the valet parking! When I got the bill it was shocking because I live on a budget and I could afford as much as I was charged! I thought the only extra

Bathroom is great to have a hot bath and quite impressive. Room services dinning is awesome. The servers from restaurants are soooo kind and attentive. I love the servers. They deserve better, i think. However, making a reservation for a premium view at high price, i got a room on 2 floor. Besides, couldnt see ANYTHING AT NIGHT AT BALCONY. THERE WAS NO LAMP OR LIGHTS OUTSIDE AT ALL. HOW COME THIS ROOM OF VIEW IS PREMIUM? I DONT KNOW. the staff at front desk BERRY? She is not that much willingfully help guests.

Xmas getaway
We stayed over Xmas so experience may be atypical. Room very comfortable and well appointed. Room and public areas were immaculate. All staff very friendly and helpful. Beach is a short walk but it was a little chilly to enjoy. Be aware of $45/day resort fee (that did not cover the Spa which charged typical resort prices) and $25/day self-parking fee in a lot that half-flooded when it rained. However, overall this was a pleasant and special holiday experience. We would return if in the area.

The Henderson Beach Resort was wonderful. It is currently decorated so beautifully for Christmas. Every amenity was perfect. We loved the outdoor fire pit, the heated pools and hot tub. We had a beautiful view of the gulf from our balcony. We only live about 1.5 hours away and can’t wait to visit again!!

From the moment I checked in, the service was very impressive. Nice people who really seemed to care. Eva in room service was lovely and Sergey at the pool bar both really made and effort and helped make the experience amazing ! Looking forward to going back soon!!! Front desk people were very friendly also.

The food is lackluster at best and extremely expensive. The beach is quite a ways away. You have to leave the property and cross the street to get there. The cocktails were not good for a very small amount you’re charged 15$ each. The vallet guys were extremely nice.. the room was nice. Front desk was just ok. Dirty glasses setting around by the elevator for 3 days until I mentioned it. For the price you pay I just expected better.

The property is beautiful,however the resort fees and 35.00 daily parking are ridiculous. You pay dearly to stay here then pay additional fees for everything. They had one working elevator in a building with 4 floors. If you are going to charge outrageous and bogus fees,the place should be completely operational.

The clarity of the process at check in was disappointing. The chairs at the beach have to booked ahead of time- which we didn’t know until we got to the beach and then had to sit in the back. They said we have access to the beach cafe on the beach but that’s only during certain hours. The pools were really nice. Overall it was fine - not great, but the hotel is definitely over hyped.

First time in Destin
Nice resort, friendly check in service, comfortable spacious room, nice bathroom, large tub with shutter style door to open. Nice balcony with view of gulf and preserve. Pools are nice just odd the adult pool doesn’t have a bar you have to wait for server or go items yourself. Restaurants are nice, a little pricey but friendly service, Nick at the Horizons restaurant/bar was very nice. The resort fee and parking fees seem extremely high.

Much needed quiet time after family trip to Disney. The Henderson was great. The beach was amazing every day. The kids loved the lazy river. The food was great. We were able to eat at the nearby Henderson Inn and also eat locally.

Pet Friendly?????
Advertised as pet friendly. But my 8 lb dog was not allowed on beach, or pool area. Only allowed in room attended. So if staying in your hotel room with your dog is your idea of a beach vacation this is your place.

We decided to go to Destin last min for our anniversary. No plans, packed up and left. I researched hotels when we were almost to Destin and I chose this gorgeous hotel. I loved the feeling I got just walking in. I loved the room & claw foot tub, private balcony and private beach. I wouldn't stop smiling! The staff was so friendly. My hubby is battling stage 4 cancer and he was so comfortable. This will be our place every time we come to Destin. Perfect. Thank you so much!

First time to Destin, I am so glad I choose The Henderson Beach Resort & Spa. I had an incredible stay at the Resort with the beatuiful room, my view and the helpful front staff.
Maintenance issues were quickly addressed and fix to satisfaction. The balcony door censor for being close and activing the air conditioning to be on. Fixed and back to a nice cool room.
Covid-19 changed how room cleaning is handled and wished it was clearer how to request. Didn't know till checking out the the front desk needed to be informed. Spoke with a housekeeping and thought it would be done.

The only issue we had was that we had a lot of trouble with the outlets in our room not functioning properly. Other than that the services play food is great and the gym there is the best fitness center I’ve ever been in a hotel.

Awesome place for a family getaway. Very nice facilities, great staff, beautiful beach and pools. Only issue is they charge more for self-parking than you will pay in downtown Destin. At this price point, parking should be free for at least one car.

This was our 4th time staying at The Henderson, but unfortunately it's not the same standard of service it was during our previous trips. We were disappointed. Two of the days our room didn't even get housekeeping (even after I specifically requested it) and I had to call down for towels since those did not get delivered either. Then they did not deliver any complimentary water bottles so I walked to the front desk and got them myself. We went to our "outside reservation" at Primrose and they sat us inside and said, "Sorry we overbooked the terrace." We ate at Horizons one night and the service was not good at all. I brought all of this to the attention of the manager upon checkout and she said, "Sorry about all of that. I hope you'll give us another chance." It is definitely not the top notch resort it was in the past.

The air conditioning didn’t work properly the whole trip and they never can to my room to fix the phone, we had to ask them to clean our room and get towels everyday. Not the house keeping just doing it like they are supposed to

Beautiful, quiet, clean property. The staff was all around fantastic, helpful, friendly but not overly attentive to the point of feeling uncomfortable. The beach here is stellar- and having a private beach makes the trip far more enjoyable than pretending as though one would be able to find parking at a public beach. Adorable kid’s activities (no children for us) but the consideration put into kids events shows. 10/10 recommend
