Staff was fantatic and the room was very clean. Honestly, if you have a car or love to walk, it may be worth staying somewhere else. Everything was average. You are paying for the location. The restaurant is pricy, and their roof cafe is super small and crowded (ie not worth it). The location is right next to Pike Place, so if you just want to walk out the door to the tourist spots, then this hotel would work. However, it it super sketchy at night, so I wouldnt go near Pike Place after dark (there is a reason why all the vendors start packing arouns 3:30-4pm).

loved the property and the location. The room was great and the staff were wonderful. It was convenient to the market and to the hockey stadium. I was only disappointed in the deterioration of the downtown area surrounding the property. Lots of closed businesses, homeless asking for handouts and generally dirty. After all the work put into the port area it was sad to see.

Everyone was so accommodating and it was easy- the process from entry to exit was wonderful. I appreciated the document that outlined the amenities. Joe was so welcoming and warm at the front desk. I would recommend it to others!

Service was disappointing. Even though it wasn’t busy we didn’t feel particularly welcome. We didn’t receive any information upon check in or the promised sparking wine despite the $29 service fee. And the valet parking charge with no option for self parking is not cool.

Save your money!
The rooms were extremely dated for the price we paid ($1400 for 2 nights) no lights in the room except for small lamps that hardly had any brightness including the bathroom. Only one mirror in the bathroom which also had a very dim light and hard to do your makeup in since the bathroom also didn’t have a vent so it would get foggy. The room also has no vents, an installed ac was above the enterance that leaked water on the creaky floors. The furniture was all dated from the 80s and no dresser. Had the water front view from our room with a giant post right smack in the middle of the windows. The curtains kept getting stuck in the track and wouldn’t close all the way soooo you only get half a view! Overall would never stay at this hotel, will be staying at a different place for our next trip.

The check in was easy and convenient. Albir Hanna was GREAT to us ! He checked us in an hour early. We had complimentary champagne and a Great room. Great linens Great shower! ( I didn’t want to get out). Had a beautiful rooftop bar and the exercise room was awesome. 10 of 10!!

We had a wonderful stay! Came to town last minute for 2 days and this hotel was top notch. Short walk to Pike's Market, amazing vibe at the rooftop bar, 5 star breakfast at the restaurant downstairs.
My friend left her wallet in the hotel room and Gina at the front desk secured it, put it in an uber to get it to us right away so we would not miss our flight! Thank you again!

very average while 510/night without bkfast; w-end bkfast closes @ 10am; coffee maker tray lacked tea, sweeteners & high end coffee. for 3day w-end only 1 elevator worked - filled with tourists visiting the rooftop; some front desk staff don’t understand English. Not up to 4* Hyatt standards.

Beautiful, modern property with excellent rooms. The staff is very kind, but overwhelmed on the weekends. They checked our luggage for us, but it took hours before we just went back down and got it ourselves. The rooftop bar is public access and good luck getting up there on the weekends with how overrun it is. I can't speak for the weekdays, though. One elevator was down, but I have a feeling both would be long waits even if it was up. Maybe we were just there on an unusually busy weekend! Truly beautiful hotel and kind staff, otherwise.

Hotel itself was well designed and the room was comfortable, great water view. However, we arrived at 10am and while I knew check in was at 3, we did not get in until 4:30! Only 1 elevator working, had to call to get fresh towels the next day. Not what I would expect for a $$$ room. Staff was friendly, area was close to Pike Market. Surroundings would get homeless scattered around the streets in the evenings.

Pay for the View - It's Worth It!
Our water view king was spectacular. The room was clean, modern, and comfortable. The hotel was very busy, but our room was quite and the service was fantastic.

We were given disabled room because somehow expedia booked so. This was not our booking at all. And more importantly the AC in the room was not working properly. Our biggest disappointment was with the fron desk staff as they did not try to be helpful at all. They just blamed expedia for booking disabled room for us and they said that this is happening a lot with expedia. Expedia is misleading its customers with the room type.

Don’t stay here
Walls are thin. I can hear everything in the rooms next door and the hall. The curtains don’t close and we have a 3-4” gap from ceiling to floor so it’s bright as day when the sun comes up.

Was disappointed with this hotel. Bed was very uncomfortable, bathroom was very dark (all black)
Very noisy! The $68 for parking , $29 destination fee on top of the over $300 a night room . Maybe this is standard for Seattle but found the whole experience over priced for what it was. I will say the staff and customer service was great.

We had a fabulous stay here! The staff was so friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was good. The location was superb, within 2 min walk to Pike Place Market, and tones of restaurants. Has a nice rooftop bar w/ great views. Would recommend anyone to stay here!

The location was awesome- 5 minute walk to the Pike, about 25 min walk to the needle, 15 minute walk to the Ferris wheel and the boating area. The hotel was clean, quiet, and amazing roof top. The staff was very helpful and nice and made it easy to check in. I would recommend staying here again.

Great front desk staff, made check-in/out a breeze. Got me into a room early so I could shower and change after a flight. Concierge got us set up with great neighborhood bar and restaurant recommendations, and the roof bar had great cocktails and views of the water.

The entire check in process was bizarre, the staff was less than helpful for my handicapped friend. The valet didn't come help us with our bags or assist with anything. The experience was disappointing, would rather go down the street and stay at Palihotel which is cheaper.

Really liked the place nice staff, comfortable room, great location geographically. At night the surrounding area is a bit sketchy. We had them clean the room once. We got fresh sheets, towels and coffee but nothing else was cleaned and the glasses we were given at check in were not taken away. All said, we would still recommend it with the aforementioned caveats.

Would not pay $100 to stay there let alone the $400 that I did spend.
Negatives:
-AC/Heater unit made terrible hissing and whooshing noises randomly every minute or two all night. Thought it was a heavy showe
-Doors and elevator outside room were loud with loud people all night
-Mattress incredibly uncomfortable
-Room small with “nice” furniture not nearly as nice as the pictures
Positives:
-Bathroom are dope
-Location is nice
Overall terrible night sleep mostly from weird noises in a cramped decently designed shoebox of a room was not worth $100.

Not sure why this hotel is so terribly expensive. Small kind bedded room with a view of a building. Tons of snacks piled up on the counter in the room for purchase. Felt Marriott like. Clean and simple. But not luxury by any means.

This is a review of Travelocity. Despite confirming that I had a reservation multiple times on the Travelocity app, the Thompson hotel could not locate the reservation in their system and had to turn us away because they were full. The Thompson staff spent about 45 minutes on the phone with Travelocity trying to see they were just not finding the reservation, but the reservation could never be located. We had to leave and find another hotel at the last minute. The experience was frustrating and disappointing and makes we think twice before making another hotel reservation through Travelocity.

Great location and view. Everything in walking distance. Clean room. Friendly staff. Not safe to walk at night and limited food options at the hotel. Pricey room- advises everyone not to book within 2 weeks of a holiday. The homeless is everywhere downtown Seattle including the entrance of 4 star and 5 star hotels.

When we arrived we were greeted by every employee. Lina at the front desk was wonderful. She was able to get us reservations at The Near, their rooftop bar. That was excellent. Beds were very comfortable bathroom was amazing. Great area. 1 minute walk to Pike Place Market. I highly recommend this hotel.

Nice room, great location. But the room lacked closet/storage space. No drawers! The staff was very helpful - got us a reservation at The Nest - rooftop bar.and helped us schedule ferry trips as our vacation continues. Suggested we visit the town of Edmonds- great tip. Bacco restaurant across the street is excellent..

The Thompson was a good location but we found we were approached by several homeless people or people trying to sell us drugs which was unsettling.
The staff during our check in process weren’t very helpful and didn’t discuss any amenities or inform us about anything to do with the hotel which differed significantly in comparison to our friends check in who were offered a drink on arrival and asked if they wanted to make any reservations at the hotel bar/restaurant.
We received no housekeeping services at all despite the information in the room stating that we would have to actively decline the service and if we did we would be reimbursed $5 per day on our bill. We ended up having to request towels regularly.
When asked if we could move rooms to be nearer to our friends eg on the same floor the staff member didn’t even look on the system to see if there was anything he could do we were just told that they were fully booked and that was it.
Considering the amount we paid for the hotel; the overall visit was satisfactory… and we seemed to have a different experience when compared with our friends who visited.

Thompson for the WIN!
Eveyone there from day 1 to day 3 was friendly and VERY kind. Absolutely no complaints. I would give 10 stars instead of 5 stars to be honest. The view rooms are definitely worth the upgrade in case you are wondering. The room would still be great, however, the view was next level. If there was any other advice I could give, it would be to bring something nice to wear if you plan on spending time at the Nest rooftop bar. We planned a pretty casual trip and didnt pack anything semi-formal but I would recommend it, at least when we were there we would have seemed out of place with t-shirts.

Our room wasn’t very high end for the price. It felt like a dorm room. When we asked for a different room they were booked up. We were looking forward to the rooftop bar but it was closed for a private party. It would have been nice to know before hand. Also I called ahead to ask for champagne in the room, but it wasn’t there when we got to the room.

The hotel itself was nice. The staff was ok nothing exceptional about any of them to speak of towards us. The room was facing the walls/windows of another building. For the price we paid at least the street view would have been nice.
However there where drug addicts in the alleyway next to the hotel doing drugs. Also there was a homeless woman camped out in front of the hotel next to the entrance. It was very uncomfortable and scary walking around the area. Again for the price we paid we would have hoped for safer nicer surroundings
Needed to call the front desk and the room phones where staticky and hard to hear on. We had to call front desk on our own cell phones!

The hotel has quite a boutique hotel vibe to it. Intimate, but with great views of the water. Public areas have an energy to them, especially the roof top bar, but still have a small intimate feel to them. Guest rooms are spacious, bright and comfortable. The bathroom, the shower specifically, is wonderful. The energy conservation feature in the rooms is not well documented anywhere. We lost power in the bathroom during the night and there was nothing in the room to explain how to reset. We accidentally discovered that opening the room door reset everything. This was after taking a shower by the light on my cell phone. Really do need better guest information/orientation regarding this point.

The staff was amazing and very responsive. The first night we had an AC issue and the tech found the issue could not be resolved that night so the staff moved us to a new room right away. The only issue we had was with the neighbor next to us as the walls are a bit a thin. The neighbor would slam his door at all hours of the night waking up half the floor. May not have been intentional but was also the only neighbor doing it.

The room was tiny with very little space to store clothing and personal belongings-better suited for a weekend than an 8 day stay. Staff was friendly and the place was clean. Restaurant was limited and pricey. I think in this case, you were paying completely for location which I’ll admit was fantastic. Luckily very little time was spent in the room.

Great staff and hotel! But no coffee in room
The front desk staff here are amazingly kind and helpful! I really appreciated them. Breakfast at Coversations reasonably priced and delicious. My King room are large and comfortable, but I really missed having a coffee machine in the room. I was waking up at 4am for remote work and had no option for coffee until 6am in the lobby. (I also generally prefer to not have to get dressed to get coffee!) With the addition of a coffee machine in the room, the stay would have been perfect.

Nice staff, great location and beautiful view. The room was clean and the bedding was comfortable. We didn’t sleep well because the blackout curtains didn’t close all the way and there was not valence at the top, so a lot of light was let into the rooms. Otherwise the hotel was fantastic

The Thompson was a joy when it was an independent boutique hotel. We spend every Christmas there. Not sure now that it is part of the Hyatt chain. The friendly attitudes, lovely restaurant & even the sometimes room upgrade wasn’t there. We might choose another hotel now that we are travelling to beautiful Seattle again.

Unbeatable location, great views of the city and sound. All staff are friendly- Michael at the front desk will fix any problem you have with a smile. Complimentary water, housekeeping does an excellent job, very clean. Beds are very comfortable- wish all the rooms had comfy chairs to relax in. Restaurant does a good brunch. Disappointed in The Nest rooftop- too exclusive & shut off, unable to really enjoy the views with all the tents and sectioned off portions, loved when it was open and had bars facing the sound.

The staff at the Thompson were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable but the view was the best part, absolutely stunning.
