This property was dirty and small, the bathroom had pealing paint holes in the walls and it was musty. On Expedia they rate this place as a 6.6. The true rating should be stay at your on risk. The carpet was filthy and worn. We stayed in room 1794 and it was horrific. What Expedia doesn’t tell you is there is a $45.00 a night parking fee and a $29.00 resort fee. I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy, that would be cruel and unusual punishment. Shame on you Expedia for sending someone to this dump. Please be careful if you stay here.

It was the only hotel that can take up to 6 people in one room, and you can’t beat the price.. The staff are amazing have a lot of patience dealing with customers. The house keeping lady is amazing at her job making sure we have everything we need..

Warning. Do NOT stay here. I booked a one bedroom with 3 beds and a mini kitchen. Omggg the stove had BUGS coming out of it. Bugs on the carpet and I’m sure the bed too. I walked in and immediately walked out. No thanks, I definitely wasn’t staying there. I’m going to sleep in the rental car

Did not get the room that was booked
Booked Sky View Two Doubles with Kitchen as flight got cancelled. Walked over 15 minutes later and was told at the reception that this room was no longer available. Was told to either pay up for an upgrade or settle for a room with a single King bed. We were too tired to argue and needed a place to sleep for the night.
I think the reception just took advantage of our situation and gave us something lesser than what we paid for. Wondering if I will get a refund for the difference.
Of course the rooms are dated and out of touch.

When we went up to the room and realized the AC was out, I called the front desk and they were quick to move me to another room. They upgraded my room for the inconvenienced. They were awesome!! Not much of an upgrade but it was something to show good customer service.

This hotel was what I was expecting for the money paid in comparison to other hotels in the area. I paid a 3 star price and the reality is that it is a dated hotel in a good location and priced appropriately to be classed as a 3 star property. If you want beachfront 5 star accommodation then pay 3 times as much and stay at the Hilton or Sheraton, At the Ohia the bed was comfortable, there was plenty of shopping and eating options on the other side of the road, the bus stop was 1 block walk away and the beach 2-3 blocks walk away. I was happy with my time and would stay again I was seeking a budget option on another visit to Honolulu. The resort fee didn't impress me but I was aware that the cost was pending when I booked the room, the snack pack supplied was a nice touch and was handy, Staff were pleasant in the dealings I had with them.

Most staff at reception are very efficient but not friendly at all, salvo the tours lady who was lovely. The rooms need major cleaning on the carpets and upholstery. On the good side, it is very centrally located with all conveniences around the hotel. You get what you pay for and in that regard it i a very good value for your money.

The staff were professional and helpful. The hotel itself is very run down. The entrance is not wheelchair accessible. The room was sketchy and the bathroom was worse. Thankfully we were only there overnight. We chose to skip showers as we both said we’d feel more dirty using it. I picked this one because it was conveniently located. We were able to go to the beach and do most of our souvenir shopping at the vendor strip around the corner.

Do not stay at this hotel
Nothing like the pictures. This place was filthy, run down, and the service was terrible. We arrived at our room to find dirty sheets, broken blinds and furniture, and a disgusting bathroom. The staff was not friendly or willing to help in any way and obviously Hotels.com was useless in giving us a refund even though the place was so gross that we didn't even stay the night. These problems are not even exclusive the the room itself, the entire property once you get past the lobby is run down and dirty. I've stayed at roadside motels that were nicer and half the price. Don't stay at this hotel.

This place had roaches in the room. Disgusting and the pictures are not what the hotel actually looks like. The kitchen is small and the furniture are old. The front desk were not very kind. Never stay at this hotel!

I hope this review doesn’t come off as just an angry complainer; I just want people to be aware of what they’re getting and to give realistic expectations on this place. I expected something nice enough to stay in for a week with my kids. We actually ended up requesting a refund and leaving about 5 minutes after stepping into the room. We could not allow our kids to stay in this place. Here’s the review:
This property was situated on a corner and the parking lot was around the corner. And being that we had an SV, the parking lot it in a weird position with a narrow driveway and the only way to get back out of the parking lot is to back out of the curved driveway down a hill.
The room was EXTREMELY small. Way smaller than the pictures make it look. There’s barely enough room to move around. The room is supposed to be able to accommodate 3 or 4 people. I honestly don’t see how that’s possible.
As for the “kitchen”, the stove was also super small, which wasn’t a huge deal, but it was pretty disgusting. Thick, caked-up brown grease on the stovetop and front.
The bathroom was probably the worst part. It definitely looked like there might have been a case of hepatitis waiting to happen in there. It was nasty in there, looked like some kind of mold in the cracks and corners of the bathroom and just didn’t smell clean like most hotel bathrooms typically do. I could go on but I don’t want to over do it. I think you get the point.
My recommendation. Don’t stay here!!

Ohia was not as expected
It was allot older and run down than the pictures online. Window blinds were broken, dirty ceiling by the air return, cockroach in the shower. We came in late so we stayed the first night. I found another hotel right by Waikiki beach for almost the same price in the Marriott family of hotels. We moved and so happy we did.

Property was not at all like the pictures. The building itself is quite old and when we got to our room within 10 minutes we found bedbugs in the beds. After that, we found at least 5 more that came from the beds and we could not stay here. Fortunately, they refunded us fully and we found a cleaner hotel. Save your time and money and choose another hotel.

Obnoxious management Caroline talk rude to while I was at the airport prior to arrival so I went somewhere else she can talk to her staff as such but I will not tolerate her obnoxious behavior I hope the do some tab out her, she has no personality or people skills and has no business in that position

Our room was smaller than expected. We had friends staying at the same hotel and their room was double the size of ours (we paid the same rate). Parking garage was very tight (we ended up hitting our car trying to get out)

When I checked in the first time the lady at the desk did not have ale a liking to from the get go, I ask if I could a room on highest level possible so she deliberately put on the first floor, from there forward gave hatful look each time she saw me walking thru the lobby, she was very hateful making somewhat uncomfortable not very impressed with her

Property location is excellent: close to ALL amenities, relaxing 6 - 8 minute walk to Waikiki beach; loved that we had a top floor view of the Royal Hawaiian premises. Housekeeping staff was excellent: room was tidied daily, towels changed, trash/recycling taken out daily. However, this property is very dated: I know it's Hawaii but, warmish water for showers was hit and miss at best, it was a significant inconvenience to have to leave the hotel lobby and walk outside and down 2 sets of stairs and key in to the parkade - no elevator service to parkade available, decor and facilities could definitely use an upgrade. Although our stay was reasonably comfortable, the best I can rank this property is 2 Stars.

This was the worst place I’ve ever stayed. The man, Andrew, at the front desk was no help and extremely rude upon arrival. The website said they were having a deal and that is why I picked this place, but when we arrived the price was more than they said it would be. We could have stayed at a much nicer and welcoming hotel for the same price. The hotel looks NOTHING like the pictures online it is extremely dirty and VERY run down. Things were broken inside the hotel, you had to wait about 20 minutes for any warm water to come through the shower, the sliding glass door was broken and any time there was wind it was extremely loud. There’s a window that anyone can open from the outside to look in, it had no lock and was in view of everything in the room. The shower was absolutely filthy, I felt gross even wearing shoes in there. The housekeepers were nice and they did a great job of cleaning up but the overall room was just dirty and there was trash from previous guests under the bed. There was also complaints of BEDBUGS on floor 3. We didn’t see any in our room but we were told from 2 people on that floor to check our bed and that they were told to keep quiet about the bed bugs. The overall dissatisfaction was the rude man, Andrew, at the front desk who tried to make us feel dumb for THEIR added fees that were not mentioned and just the overall lack of cleanliness and false advertisement. I do not recommend staying here unless you want to pay for not even the bare minimum.

There are cockroaches and bed bugs found in the rooms. The walls had dust and mold from the shower to the ac vent. The staff was very rude and difficult. When I expressed my concern about parking at the bottom they disregarded it and said I couldn’t park at the top because my car wasn’t big enough when the parking all costs the same and I’m expressing my claustrophobia to the staff. The big white lady manager was yelling at my mother and made her cry because she didn’t want us to even get close to the top gate. The white big man was also very mean and would get smart and give attitude when asked for help. Overall would never come back here and wouldn’t ever mention I ever stayed at this hotel.

I had a nice stay, but the lobby reeked of Febreeze really badly. Like they used a whole bottle when one spray would have been fine style of reekage. Very little, to no hot water on the 15th floor, which isn't a huge deal considering the weather.
The resort fee seems a bit unfair as well.d

A simple place that won't break the bank
Our stay at the Ohia was comfortable. The facitlity is a bit dated but our room was very clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. We had a 14th floor room with a nice view. As long as you are not looking for something fancy this hotel is great for the price. There is also a small pool here. They gave us a simple snack bag every day. What is really nice is that it is very centrally located close to the international mall. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit.

If you were checking in during the day, there was an attendant at the underground parking structure waiting to let you in. Check in was perfect and the clerk was so sweet! The same attendant from the parking structure came w the cart to get my bags and took them up to my room.
I did not dine there, but there is a restaurant/bar off from the lobby. Seemed as though some other guest enjoyed it, as it had no shortage of patrons. There was tea and water offered in the lobby. A really inviting seating area w plenty of room to enjoy the space. I also didn't use the pool.. but it was clean and a great amenity for the hot day.
The area around the hotel was clean, but busy. I did like the electric bikes right outside for easy travel. There are plenty of places to eat and some shopping close.
I did not like the $45 fee for parking. There is no elevator from the parking garage to the hotel lobby exfor the service elevator.. which is not for guests. If you have a lot of bags or heavy bags, the ramp on the ground level is your only option and if the cart gets away from you, its going into the street. At check out, you have to take your own bags out to the curb where there is three minute loading/unloading. My room smelled like mold and old carpet. The room wasn't cleaned well, as I found old trash beside the bed and under the table when looking for an outlet to charge up. The one behind the table and one in the bathroom were the only ones. The door required a lot of force to close.

There is nothing special about this place. Outdated.. The staff is are very nice and friendly! Expensive parking $45 per night.. but better than street parking or getting towed. Needs so serious updating its very old. Bed was comfortable room clean. Close to beach and shopping on the same street.. busy night life.

The morning we left, we discovered we were eaten up with bedbug bites, killed five in the middle of the night on the bed…. I have tried to call the manager four times but can’t seem to talk to him about the bedbugs !!! We were in room 195, on September 15. I cannot recommend the Ohia Waikiki Studio Suites to any one because of the bed bugs.

I was supposed to get a room with 2 double beds and 1 twin bed instead I got 1 king bed and 2 twin beds and the hotel representative didn’t care when I expressed my concern. The worst think there were roaches and some type of insects that bite us all over our bodies, very disappointed, frustrated, etc

The aircon was set on High but it wasn't cold. The room temp was warm. It could be that the vents are clogged up with dust. Needs cleaning. The shower looks like wallpaper on the floor, was popping up along the edges.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel staff was wonderful. Our room was just what we needed. The hotel is an older property and it shows but we were very happy with our room and are overall experience. We would stay at this hotel again without hesitation.

Ohia Waikiki Suites
After a very long flight I arrived in paradise! The Ohia Waikiki Suites was good. The front desk lobby/check in looks old but well kept. I got into my room well and noticed the furniture seemed modern. I then made a room inspection and well there was water damage on the shower walls. Paint was chipping off in the bathroom too. I reported this to the front desk. They asked me to submit an email to the corporate office, I did. That was promptly corrected. I had a city view and was beautiful at sunset. The pool was small but very clean. I was satisfied with choosing the Ohia Waikiki Suites. I'm not 100% sure I'd choose this hotel again. I'm on the fence on that at this time. If you want a comfy bed, big TV, small stove and mini fridge and save a few dollars and if you are out and about, just need a place to sleep. You will probably like it. PS: Konos pulled pork is close by and is Amazing! They have Some Whip too!!

Great location.Great views on higher levels.Great service.The parking pass should be 24hrs.You will hear music & cars if you're a light sleeper & the curtains will show a silhouette of you at night with room lights on, we notice people sitting on roof top across the street watching the hotel!

Fire Trap
All the outlets in the room are worn our creating a possible fire hazard. Device plugged in would keep losing connection. I use a CPAP and it kept shutting off all night and I would have play with the plug. The GFCI in bathroom would allow a plug in no matter polarity. I left a review with hotel and never heard from them.

Yuck.
We arrived and was asked if we needed a parking pass and we replied yes, and then we’re hit with a $225.00 bill for parking. The garage is a single lane horribly designed garage in the basement. Our first room was infested with roaches and our second room was infested with sugar ants. It looked nothing like the pictures and was a run down dirty hotel. The location was amazing but I would never stay here again
