Hotel is not in great condition, floors and carpets dirty. Our room heater was making a lot of noises, hotel staff said they were aware. Sheets had hairs on them and looked like they hadn’t been ch aged before we go there (they did come up to give us new sheets after request), fridge had food in it from previous people. Hotel bar was closed, staff said maybe for a few days. Sheets scratchy but bed was comfortable. Breakfast was pretty good.

Our stay was Terrible . In addition to the noisy room and noisy air conditioning unit , we lost heat midway through our stay during a time when there were subzero temperatures in Chicago outside . The staff did nothing all day to fix the problem or accommodate guests . The manager wasn’t even on site. They made me call corporate which was also useless . Finally I had to contact Expedia who arranged for a different hotel stay and a refund from the current place . We had to pack up and move to a different hotel. Never staying here again !

Overall, my stay at the hotel was average. What made my stay bad was that I never got my room cleaned a single time. I stayed there for four nights, which should have been two nights they should've cleaned my room. My room wasn't cleaned even after informing the front desk the night before that it wasn't cleaned, and they promised that housekeeping would come the next day to clean my room. This never happened. One redeeming thing about this place was that the front desk was nice and helped accommodate me with whatever I asked.

Everything was good. What upset me was the parking facility announced on the website. The webpage mentioned both breakfast and parking.This led me to believe that both were included, but I was surprised to discover that I had to pay almost 70 dollars to park my car. If I had noticed that parking would be charged, I would have preferred another hotel. And I will not recommend Hampton Inn to others.

Cute little hotel quiet comfortable
First time to Chicago kids went to go see a concert nice hotel but small staff was excellent cleanliness was excellent The only thing I didn't like was the view from the room was a conference room from another building I guess but other than that it was nice.

The room was a little dirty when I arrived, and the condition of the room was not great (carpet pulling away from floor, that sort of thing) Location was excellent and the staff was excellent, as Hampton staff usually are.

The hotel is perfectly located for everything you want to do in Chicago and is a two minute walk away from the CTA. Good dining options are close by as well. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The breakfast hit the spot every morning too. I'm definitely coming back.

Ok for the price.
Hotel was ok. Our rooms was a little cold and the heat would not go above 74 degrees. We requested a different room because of the cold and they were accommodating. Free breakfast was ok, but not the best food.

The hotel had completed their upgrade from last year and they did a great job. Room was very nice and clean. I needed a couple things from the front desk and provided immediately. Enjoyed my stay.

Staff were very friendly on arrival. We arrived in the morning and they stored our bags for us. Were able to get in our room mid afternoon which we were happy about as we had to catch an event at 4.

Was a little upset with the breakfast buffet on Sunday Morning. We were there for breakfast the day before and it was ok, not great, but ok. We were checking out on Sunday morning, so we took our time getting to breakfast. It was supposed to be served from 6 to 10 AM. We got to breakfast at 9:20, most the food was gone. They took the cold yogurt away, there were no potatoes, only a few eggs, and sausage you could make waffles. There were no bagels or bread to toast and the muffins were gone. I really think the breakfast should have been stocked on a Sunday when people are taking their time and packing up.

Hotel is in walking distance of a variety of restaurants and shops. The hotel was clean and the hotel staff were top notch. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

Really wanted to like this property and tried very hard to be patient. When we got to room, toilet was filthy. Maintenance had plunged the clogged toilet and left fecal matter splattered. They came and cleaned the toilet. Fine but the floor was filthy and there was 1/3 of a roll of toilet paper for 2 nights and body wash bottle was empty. Beds looked clean so we rolled with it. Assumed housekeeping would come in a.m. so I left a note. While at breakfast I received a text from Hyatt asking how everything was. I told them about the floor. No response. When we got back to hotel I asked front desk about housekeeping and was informed they come every other day. Explained the floor was filthy, we had towels down and needed TP. They said they would get someone there right away. We came back 3 hr later & room had not been touched. Went out in evening to theatre, no housekeeping. It was late so we went to bed and started using the box of kleenex. I asked politely twice for them to rectify the situation. There are 3 other hotels on the same street, pick one of them. I've stayed at The Virgin, London House and they are so nice. I loved the old building the Hyatt is in but the rooms are very worn and sparse. The pictures online are not accurate. The lobby looks huge in those picture, it is not. It is small and cramped. The picture is taken from above with a fish eye lense to look more spacious. It needs an update badly and more attention to customer's problems.

Loved the art deco of the lobby and the fact that it was the original AAA building. The breakfast was a bonus. The rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable. Only negative was that we were on the 10th floor & could hear all the sirens & garbage trucks at 3am. They need to replace the windows to be more sound proof

Good property for the price. Desk staff were excellent. Lack of fresh linens meant we had to get them from the desk everyday. No trash pick up and no trash bags provided.

Great place to stay in Chicago!
My husband and I stayed for 3 nights & had no complaints! The hotel was in walking distance to most tourist attractions. It was also close to multiple bus stops (much cheaper than Uber or Lyft if you plan on traveling to an it further places). The complimentary breakfast was excellent & a great perk.

Nice room, convenient, and walkable to so many great places. The lobby was beautiful not just for breakfast, but even when we brought in takeout, and drinks were right there at the bar. Every employee was encountered was friendly and helpful. Parking was easy and stress-free. Thank you everyone that made it a great weekend for us.

The stay sucks
I am not sure if The AC was even working except blowing air. Me and my family couldn’t sleep the entire night as it was so hot. The noise coming from bathroom was as if a monster is roaring and it was whole time the worst part was during night. My daughter was scared and couldn’t sleep. With the amount I f money I spent it was not worth even for 10%of it. All the dumping noise could clearly be heard which is good enough to give you a sleepless night. Never ever I ll book Hampton again and hotel.COm is also equally responsible in this loot.

Stayed for two nights midweek and really enjoyed it. You can't beat the location, especially for the rate we paid. Everything was clean, front desk staff are friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is the standard fare. The thermostat could not be set below 68, so just a note for those who like a cooler room. We ended up running it on the fan setting and it was manageable. Overall it was a great stay and we would stay here again!

The hotel, itself, was not bad. The room I had was decent and mostly clean. My biggest complaint is whatever work or construction that took place EVERY night I was there between 1-4am. Without fail, there was some sort of loud banging at that time of the night and woke me several times all four nights I stayed. I could not see what it was outside my window. It made for very poor sleeping conditions. Additionally, the free breakfast each morning was very 'meh' and only served as belly filler.

Hotel was clean and well kept. Staff were excellent. Spacious rooms and comfortable bed. Fast Wi-Fi which was important as I was working during the day. Really liked that the original art deco design and character has been well kept in the lobby.

The parking is only valet parking which is $69 per night which I overlooked but overall the hot breakfast accomodate for it. The convenience store could have been filled more and the bar was closed the entire stay. The shower makes loud noises in our room and others...very loud. The staffs were all friendly except when checking out the young lady behind the counter was not very pleasant. Would I stay here again, as a last resort, yea.

We stayed at this hotel due to proximity to a theater show. We got back to the room late and my husband went down to get bedding for the pullout couch (there was none in the room). One trip down and three phone calls later and it finally arrived 90 minutes later. The noise from the road was really loud and the bathroom appliances rattled so loudly it kept us awake anytime a room closeby would run their water. Not the best night of sleep.

My booking was cancelled, was booked in next door hotel. The hotel staff was not helpful, and it took long time to get voucher for the next door hotel. New hotel is pet friendly too, otherwise there would be a problem.

The only thing I didn’t like about this hotel was that the room is very small. We had a king size bed 2 large suitcases and nowhere to open them. We had to put all out clothes in 1 suitcase at the foot of the bed and walk around it to get to the other side of the bed. If I knew this I would have definitely stay at another hotel. But it was in a good location and they served free breakfast.

Blind did not completely cover the window so was bright in the room, making sleeping difficult.
Asked reception to fix . First day they forgot . Second day they sent someone who mad the gap smaller but still light coming in. When I pointed this out was told “that’s just how it is “ . Showed them the window next to it with blind completely covering window . Third day it was fixed .

Convenient and comfortable.
Desk staff were pleasant and helpful and the cleaning staff were very accommodating. Breakfast was delicious and varied each day. The location is perfect for anyone who wants to be active in the city corps. The only disappointment was that there seemed to be no garbage recycling. The extensive use of plastic utensils and waxed paper plates and cups in the hotel seems a bit tone-deaf in this time of serious climate change.

Great location and property is well maintained and clean!
The first room we were assigned to was REALLY small, we could barely move around once we brought our luggage in. We asked to be be moved but they were booked that evening, however, they were very accommodating the next day once more rooms opened up, which we very much appreciated.
One thing to be aware of is that they advertise they have a bar in the lobby and hot breakfast every day, but the true hot breakfast with eggs is only available Thursday - Sunday. Otherwise it’s just a continental breakfast with potatoes added. Same for the bar, it’s only open Thursday - Sunday. Not a deal breaker, just something to be aware of.

We liked the location and the cleanliness of the hotel. The staff we interacted with were very polite and helpful. We did have a few issues that made it less than perfect. The TV remote was very difficult to use/understand. The blind in one of our windows wouldn't go all the way down so we couldn't make it dark enough, plus the traffic noise was very loud. The room was the smallest room we have ever stayed in and this was not evident from the pictures on the website. The breakfast was free but very sparce. Both days there were no eggs - just meat and potatoes. There was bread, but no bagels.

We didn't like the fact that the room we were placed in did not have carpet, was in a scary hallway behind a big wooden door with one other room, had no refrigerator, and was extremely small. When we let the desk know, they said they didn't even know a room like that existed.

We had some concerns with noise from outside, but it wasn’t on the hotel. I would recommend a higher floor if you stay in the downtown area.
The hotel was great and the staff was friendly. I would say there again anytime I visit Chicago!

I thought the location was very good but the hotel was sold out and we had a room where the tub wasn't draining but we didn't complain. Why would we? It's not like they could've moved us to another room anyway.........

The only positives were the bed was very comfortable and the location of hotel was near all major tourists attractions. If you are looking for exceptional customer service then skip this hotel because you won’t be getting any.

Rooms were clean, and the staff was responsive and helpful. The free breakfast is great, especially when you are traveling with children. The breakfast had a different variety each morning. My kids' favorite was the different waffles batter flavors each day. Centrally located, it is easy to walk to places or get in public transportation. I would choose this location again.

Perfect location to stay while visiting Chicago.
Offers free breakfast daily.
Just speak to the staff if you need to change towels or sheets as this service is not offered by default.
Can be noisy during nights as some drivers like to make noise.
Garbage collection in the neighborhood happens around 2am, so you might hear some of that noise as well.
Overall it’s a good place to stay. Extremely walkable to all tourist sites near millennium park.
