Minimalistic / good location / gym could be better
A very minimal hotel. For the most part my room was great. Big room, stunning view from the 25th floor and very comfortable.
Few stains and general wear and tear that made it feel slightly older.
Location is fantastic, and would definitely stay again. I did have to seek out a gym pass at a local gym however as the hotels one is very poor. No windows and tiny. Would have expected a better fitness facility.

This is not a five star! Don’t stay there!!! They canceled my reservation for no reason. It was a nightmare to fix the situation. I was treated like I was the problem.
Restaurant staff was lazy and rude. The restaurant wasn’t busy, we ordered drinks, 20 minutes later- no drinks. I found a server asked what was going on, they hadn’t even started to make our drinks and they weren’t making other drinks! That is one example of a litany of problems that took place there. If you want two star- go there.

A relaxed 5 star hotel where the staff are there if you want them or not if you don’t. Cool bar which is very much a place to be seen (but the team never forget the hotel guests). Our suite was large, bright and modern with all the things you need (maybe a nespresso would have been nice), staff were first class, location is brilliant in between 2 underground stations.

The day We arrived we reported a air leakage on one of our windows, you could hear the air coming in. We were told it was fixed...by the second night the howling sound was unbearable.

Not worth the price
Great location and customer service was excellent. The food and service at the Clocktower was also top notch. But for the price and the newly imposed "Destination Fee," the accommodations were pretty basic. I don't know why a hotelier would buy such cheap looking white furnishings that wear so badly and the rooms have zero character or true sense of comfort. I will continue to stay with Firmdale hotels and visit this property for dinner.

My stay at the Edition
Check in is at 15:00pm we arrived at 16:30-17:00
My daughter’s room was ready,I needed to wait an additional 1h
My booking was 2 deluxe king room’s,by check in I’m told 1000$ deposit for each room,next day I see a charge on my credit card of 1000$ and 1400$
When asked at reception what the 1400$ stands for I got 5 explanations!!Plus I asked how it’s possible that our breakfast same day was charge to my Card we’re I signed it to my room
Last explanation was by swiping my card it didn’t go true the first time...Really
The minimum requirement should be to notify your costumers in advance before you over charge any
Your Lobby bar I’d dirty,at the bar side you have a wall that’s the full 7 day’s of my stay had stains from a drink
I live next to Edition in Bodrum,Turkey during summer month’s and this Hotel offers great service,Luxury and very clean
The New York Edition is below your standards

Enjoyed a lovely weekend at the New York Edition! The hotel is minimalistic, clean and comfortable. When you walk inside not only does it smell great but the staff members greet you and ensure you feel welcomed. Highly recommend staying here as it is a great location, the service is excellent and the rooms are clean. This is now our go to hotel in NYC.

Thanks for a special stay!
My wife and I were in town to celebrate our 33rd anniversary. Broadway show, dinner at Rezdôra, topped off by a wonderful stay at The New York EDITION. The staff led by the Front Office Manager Suela and Guest Relations Manager Gianpaolo took amazing care of us. They upgraded us to an awesome room with views East, south and west! And delivered a yummy chocolate/fresh fruit cake to our room. Very thoughtful. Both of the hotel bars are devine. I have previously eaten at the restaurant which is also top notch. Beautiful property with superb service. Even if we did not get this special anniversary treatment, I would still be rating this property and service five stars. Thank you!

Fun weekend getaway
The hotel was nice; clean contemporary look. Service was good at the bar, but poor at the front desk. They wouldn't let my wife check in, with her ID, without a confirmation number. I was alittle surprised by this. Rooms were nice as well.

Excellent location in middle of Manhattan. This is modern, clean hotel but the regular room is very small even after it was upgraded. There are bigger rooms if you pay more ask for corner room with great view of the city. Hotel has one restaurant but there are many eating places around the hotel. Across the park, which is in the front of the hotel, has an Italian eatery with several restaurants and all kinds of pasta and desserts for sale as well. Entrance is very small but lobby has good bar area.

Reception failed to communicate that my pymt via Expedia would NOT be cancelled when rebookign me at the TimeSqaure location resulting in charging me 2x for 1 night and ongoing dispute.
Friend had a gift sent over and was never delivered to our room as promised for our special anniversary wknd. Ruined the entire gift.

Good weekend
The room was a bit small but very comfortable.
The lobby and bar area was very cold because the outside doors didn’t always close, so the cold wind blew in.

The bathroom is quite large for a hotel in NYC. The ceilings in the room are quite high, which gives the room a larger feel. I was pleasantly surprised to see a small couch and coffee table in the room as well. Overall, an excellent room for the price.

We usually stay at The Dominick, Baccarat, Langham or Mandarin Oriental but we decided to try a different hotel and we picked the Edition. When we arrived at the hotel in the evening, the first thing we have noticed was that nobody offered to help us with our bags and in addition to that they told us that our room was not ready “yet”?! As we were rushing for dinner, they offered us a tiny little room to change clothes and also offered an upgrade from our loft suite for the inconvenience. When we came back late at night we found out that there is no upgrade and moreover they didn’t even take our bags to the suite as promised. In addition to the experience with our check-in we thought that the elevators didn’t have enough capacity and speed for 42 floors, the suite seemed smaller than on the pictures, no automated blackout shades, the AC in the room didn’t work correctly and was loud, the shower handle in our bathroom was broken and was leaking, the safe needed maintenance and there were some stains on the sofas. After I called and mentioned issues with the shower and the safe they fixed it but on the other hand paying $1,300+ a night I think that everything should already be in order. As for design- the lobby area was very plain, the restaurant wasn’t very good either and the staff wasn’t consistent. They did end up upgrading us for the last night and seemed nicer and more helpful, which we appreciated after our experience, but despite that we will most likely not return back.

Heavenly New York Haven!!!
Where to start ... without question one of my fave hotels ever and I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels all over the world. It’s beautiful inside and out and so are the staff 😊 first time visit for 5 nights and loved every second. These guys get the big stuff and the little stuff spot on. Location is awesome, room size perfect, lovely and modern and delicious food and cocktails at your fingertips. Will be staying here now every time I’m in NYC which I hope is very very soon. Thanks New York Edition 🙏 can’t wait to try some of your other hotels now too!!! PS saw a lot of comments prior to booking about the elevators but I had no issues at all.

Great location close the middle of manhattan island. Easy to go anywhere with 15 minutes from this hotel. Great service and staff! The clocktower restaurant was also a great dinning experience.

Mixed bag all around.
Well frankly it’s a mixed bag. The front desk restaurant staff are wonderful, helping me when I was late to breakfast by 15m (thanks!) , however the room was small and dark and when the toilet was clogged no one ever came.
My biggest issue is with hotel.com who’s photos made it appear much nicer than the room was. Are the price I paid I could have had a suite at the 1 hotel or elsewhere and I’m annoyed because I did not get value for money.

Overpriced, stark hotel
Hotel is nice but greatly overpriced. Rooms are dark. Service is stark. Do not even have coffee in the room so you must go downstairs and spend $11.50 for 2 drip coffees. No one to help with bags unless you ask them.

Amazing hotel in an amazing locations
We stayed for nights at the New York Edition.
The entire hotel is modern and spacious, everything is really well designed.
We thoroughly enjoyed our room.
We also can recommend the hotel for great cocktails and whiskey.
Staff are friendly, helpful and professional.
Will try to get this property again on my next stay in NYC.

Great Apartment Builidng, Not so Great Hotel
As a Marriott Gold Member, I would definitely not rate this hotel as the high end Marriott brand it purports to be. The service was non-existent from check in until check out and the overall feel of the building and rooms made me think I was staying at someone’s apartment rather than a “nice” hotel. The only thing going for this place is the lobby lounge, which was stylishly decorated. After 4 nights I canceled the remainder of my reservation and moved across to the other side of Madison Square Park to The Nomad because it actually feels like a nice hotel rather than someone’s apartment.

Convenient location in large city
The staff was helpful and pleasant. It was easy to get around both inside and outside of the hotel. The nearby park, restaurants and groceries make it a livable location away from home. The price of the room is quite high for what you get, but then you have to remember that this is NYC.

One of my best hotel experiences
Sometimes you get what you pay for and this one of them. Spacious room well furnished and equipped with everything you need. Everything worked well. The innovative elevator call system worked really well and most times you had your own private elevator and the wait times where short. The stall were extremely helpful and very friendly and welcoming.

Excellent stay. Excellent ambience. Excellent rooms. Excellent service. Excellent area (can't get better than being right next to Madison Square Park). Two very enthusiastic thumbs up. The only minor gripe I have is their elevators can be a bit cumbersome and slow at times, but I'd still give this place 5 stars at the end of the day.

Love This Place
Love the hotel and have now stayed twice. We've notice the elevator wait can sometimes be 3-5 minutes, which is unsatisfactory for a luxury hotel. We'll stay one more time and hope the elevator situation improves, otherwise we'll seek a new venue.

Great location. Lovely building. Friendly staff. Clean, attractive rooms and good bathrooms. Only drawbacks: rooms not as spacious as expected and as other 5 star hotels in New York (eg Peninsula); lobby bar a bit too noisy at night; minibar and food over-priced; no swimming pool (though we knew that when we booked).

Disappointing service.
This hotel is beautiful and perfectly located but sadly the level of service that we experienced was far below parr for the level it is advertised at.
Firstly we arrived earlier and checked out bags before leaving for etc day and were assured our bags would be sent to our room, and I gave a tip. When we checked into our room later that day they were not there so I called down to have them sent up. About 30mins later no bags had arrived so I called down and was assured by the person at Guest Services that she could see a porter with the bags and that they were coming up. An hour later they had not arrived so I went down to get them myself. After being asked what they looked like there seemed to be a bit of confusion about where they were but they were given to me and I took them up to the room myself.
Following morning we ordered room service which took a while. After having a leisurely morning we left for the day and asked for our room to be serviced which was done but all of the trays and old food from our breakfast had no been removed leaving an unpleasant smell and scene. Two calls later and no one arrived so we left the trays outside our room door in the corridor which is where they remained until the following morning.
The toilet kept refilling throughout the night which was just loud enough to make falling asleep hard. The hotel lobby and bar were so cold that both patrons and staff were wearing winter jackets.

Most comfortable bed
Good hotel in midtown with the most peaceful comfortable room. With the notable exception of the guys who are at the main door this hotel is not especially welcoming. I arrived late from a transatlantic flight into a ground floor full of people and extremely loud music and through the back door, as this is where the cab dropped me, with no staff or sign indicating the way to reception. Check in was, therefore, noisy and quite unpleasant. Good thing the room was quiet and comfortable with a wonderful view of the Empire State all lit up for Christmas.

Loved where the hotel was located. It’s close to a Walgreens and CVS for any essentials or toiletries or snacks. There’s even quite a bit of local fast food places like McDonalds and a Shake Shack. The Shake Shack is located right in front of the hotel across the street into Madison Square Park.

Very nice & modern but rewend by one staff member
When we check into our hotel we were greeted with a very unpleasant staff member, she was rude & abrupt. We didn’t bring a credit card as we were not asked to bring one & she was really annoyed with us that we didn’t & couldn’t understand why we didn’t own a credit card! She instead took our debit card details which she told us the hotel would take 200 dollars a night & then our back on our credit card. Instead the hotel took nearly £3000 worth our at one go, after speaking to several members of staff after we found this out on the next day, the staff members said that the staff member who checked us in had taken the amount wrong & instead took the cost of the hotel which we had already paid for & plus 5 nights at 200 dollars! So the hotels mistake yet we had to wait until we checked out to get the money back into our account. Our mortgage was going it the same time & we had to borrow money from a family member to make sure we didn’t miss a payment for that. The staff member was the worst I’ve ever come across & after a 8 hour plane journey we did not except or wanted to be treated by such a nasty person. This individual let the hotel down.
