Check in was very smooth and very friendly front desk staff accommodated early arrival flight arrival check in. Beach access and pool was fantastic, as was the beach food/drink service to your beach lounger (great food and drinks!). Only 2 beach loungers are included in the “resort fee”, and beach umbrella is more $ so be aware. Towels at beach and pool avail at no cost. Room free wifi was decent for kids streaming shows. Downside it hard to see water edge from loungers especially if travelling with kids who want to play. The rooms are rather outdated and could be cleaner, especially the sofa / pullout and attention to corners and bathroom. The shower was very disappointing as it is only a ceiling style rainfall shower head with very little pressure (near impossible for my wife and daughter to get out shampoo). No room in bathroom with very little counter space. All staff were helpful and very polite. A 20 minute walk to heart of south beach/ art deco district and lots of restaurants and shopping at short walk from hotel. I would stay again depending if the price was more reasonable.

We love staying at nautilus! It’s our second stay here and will keep coming back. Staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is close to restaurants and very walkable but away from a lot of noise and the crowds. We love the pool and beach front staff.

Expensive Disappointment
It is an overpriced, worn-out hotel with expensive and tiny rooms with relatively poor soundproofing, especially between rooms. We stayed for four nights: for the first two days, no cleaning crew visited our room, so I had to call and request cleaning. Best experience was the pool and restaurant service, food ok - nothing special. I've stayed in four other hotels along Collins Ave, this one is the lowest on price-quality. I’ve also stayed with Sonesta in Cambridge and Coconut Grove, this one is by far the weakest of them all. Sad as location is great.

Worst Stay Ever
Hotel was very old VERY DARK in hallways to rooms. You could hear everything in every room. Do not go here if you want rest and relaxation. Staff is not helpful barely even acknowledges guests. Floors are filthy! Never again’

Great view from the balcony! We.wwre in a handicap room so the bathroom was not great. Hotels on both sides are undergroing rebuilds so it got pretty loud.

Nothing in my room worked from the
Tv remote, telephone and lights flickering. Also had no toilet paper and was a pain to get it since the phone didn’t work

We stayed here for 4nights had the best experience. The staff is so friendly and welcoming had a great stay. I celebrated my birthday and they made it the best they upgraded us to a partial ocean view room. Very close to the beach and party places

Our stay was fine but there were a few issues that could have made it more enjoyable. We were there 4 nights and it wasn't until the 3rd night that our room was cleaned and made up. This was also only upon our request and was to be done on a daily basis. The outside music continued to play late throughout the night and early morning with that constant bass reverberating through our room. This was corrected when we spoke with the front desk. The weather was absolutely terrible, at no fault of the hotel, and perhaps our moods were altered because of this bring more attention to the above issues. All and all, I don't feel the experience and value were warranted for the price of the room.

Room Pics Online Different than
Overall, excellent stay, but a few things to be aware of before you go! Location and beach access is awesome! Service was also fantastic, but I did have a major complaint about the rooms because you might not get what you think you are booking due to online pics and descriptions being VERY confusing!! I really did NOT originally receive the room I thought I booked, as it had different floors, less furniture and fewer windows for oven view. However it was a spectacular bathroom! Another room I booked for my friend at same time was very small for two queens, and bathroom tiny with no place to put stuff and zero counter space! The ocean view room did have amazing view and top floor, but elevator took forever. Finally, the mini bar refrigerator is not really for your own stuff, so we needed to beg for another fridge for medications/supplements, etc. When I spoke to manager about the disappointment with room not matching description, he did his best to offer some concessions, but we were unable to switch rooms due to hotel being sold out. Food and drinks were fantastic, and cabana service top notch!! I would definitely stay here again, but be specific on room type requests! Be sure to get the “deluxe” rooms or you might be disappointed, unless you are single and dint require bathroom space.

Hotel is beautiful, location is prime. Employees were attentive and very kind. Food/drinks were great. Our room neighbor left their phone on vibrate and it rang for 4 hours straight from 9:30pm-1:30 am, then someone came and re arranged furniture upstairs around 5:15am(figure of speech but it was brutal), then at 6 am the unoccupied room next door alarm clock went off with no one to turn it off. Brutal night of sleep. None of that falls on the hotel just some terrible luck. Beautiful place.

The service was amazing at this hotel. The bartenders were great at giving suggestions for dining and things to do near by. The restaurant located in the hotel was amazing for both breakfast and lunch. The outside pool area has amazing service and lots of spaces to lay in the sun. The private beach service was great but be aware it’s an extra $25 USD for an umbrella even if a guest! Overall a great hotel and will definitely come back!

The room was small but the sunrise ocean view, balcony and fully stocked mini bar made it a non issue.

The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Always acknowledged us when we left, and greeted us when we returned, and ensured they opened the doors to enter the hotel. MacCaulay at the check in desk was very accommodating and helpful. Loved the beachfront access. Will definitely return!

Property is billed as a 4 star hotel but lacks amenities that are typical of a 4 star hotel. Small pool, no fridge or microwave in room. Prices at onsite bar and restaurant were very high given quality. Think $30 for a basic drink, $17 chips & guac. At time of booking, It was not clear that there is no on site parking at this property or that there is no close/convenient public parking. Valet at this property is $50/night which seems outrageous given the cost of the stay. Additionally, property could use some updating throughout rooms and lobby. Room set up was weird with bed in middle of the room/floor, no night stands or seating other than the bed.

This is my 3rd time staying here and I love it. The rooms are big and clean. The staff are all awesome . Now that I’m a Expedia vip member I got two free drinks was able to check in a little earlier and also had late check out which I didn’t use but was awesome to know we can do it. The lobby is so spacious and clean with different art pieces from local artist. Perfect place to come to relax and enjoy some beach and pool… this is a family friendly hotel as well…

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The location is unbeatable. The beach is beautiful and clean. The staff were kind and pleasant. The hotel has a nice ambiance overall. Tons of great shopping and restaurants just steps away.
Some downsides to staying here:
1) The noise levels at night- the walls are paper thin and we did not sleep well due to guests listening to music and talking in other rooms.
2) Tiny bathroom- my husband and I could not brush our teeth at the same time due to the small size of the bathroom.
3) Overall upkeep- paint and plaster slowly peeling off walls, some stains on furniture, etc
4) Housekeeping did not come to our room on our last day. We got back at 6pm and we were told they were backlogged. The manager was kind enough to give us extended check out for the next day to apologize for the inconvenience.
Our goal was to book a hotel with a great location and access to the beach. The rooms weren’t as important for us. For these reasons we can say that the Nautilus Sonesta was overall a good choice.

Place is not kept up very well. Pool Lounge chair we soaking wet and lumpy and old. Pool area was dirty.
Bathroom in room was not kept up well, terrible caulking, mirror peeling from the back, just old and badly done!
General unkept and un-updated!

Quick response to all your room request.
Housekeeping missed 1 day out of 4 days to refill our coffee, water & toiletries. That is 25% of the time. It can be better. Overall it was above par.

The hotel is actually beautiful inside, we got there around five and our room still wasn’t ready, we got a balcony room, the room they offered us for the inconvenience was nothing like the balcony so I’m glad we was able to actually get the balcony room, the service from mr. Day was amazing however so thank you to him. The room lights kept flickering on and off. Our room must have been pretty thin because we played not loud at all and our neighbors would knock on the wall mind you it wasn’t even 10pm and they were already complaining…. It’s best to get a different hotel if you want to really enjoy yourself without having to be so quiet .
