Getaway weekend
We enjoyed our stay at 1 Hotel Central Park. I wanted a place that was really nice, but didn't feel too fancy or exclusive. I loved the industrial/natural style here.
The staff was friendly & helpful. We were able to stash our luggage before check in & after check out.
The room was cozy, although it was actually a little too cozy, now that I am remembering... we wanted to turn on the air, but it wouldn't work at all. The fan would even come on to circulate air. Not sure if the heat worked, because we didn't need it! We left our window open to cool off, but the street noise kept waking my husband up. (I personally didn't notice it.)
Other than the room being too warm, it was an enjoyable stay.

Amazing but noisy
Absolutely gorgeous hotel, great location in midtown where it was close enough to everything but far enough from the Times Square madness. Also super short walk to Central Park. Staff was incredible. Loved the vibes, rustic New Yorky. Only issue was the rooms are not very well insulated sound wise from the other rooms and the hallway. There would be times that my neighbors door would open/close and it would scare me into thinking mine was opening. I don’t know how they fix that, but they need to if I plan to stay there again. Other than that one thing the hotel is perfect.

Excellent location, very good breakfast and food (apart from the pancakes), the hotel is beautiful, different, contemporary. The room was beautiful and spacious, shame about the view.
The only flaw: the deposit request. It doesn't have a high cost but since it isn't budgeted or indicated anywhere, it locks in an amount you could use for something else for the entire time of your stay.

Do not valet... we are sitting waiting for our vehicle.. as i write this review , it has been an hour thirty minutes of wait time. Terrible customer service. Staff needs improvement .

The One Hotel is very nice but I think falls short of its 5 star rating and the price it commands for its rooms. Overall lack of attention to detail from a service perspective - our check in was an hour delayed because the room wasn’t ready (with no apologies or attempt to make good), our room was short on robes and towels and when we called down for more at night they were never delivered, room service forgot some staple items from our breakfast, and our car took an hour to get from the valet (when they said to call down 30 mins in advance) which made us have to rush to lunch and our show. All in all not big problems but not what I would expect for 5 stars/$1000 a night.
The good stuff - the bell hop (Andrew?) was lovely at check in (actually the only person who greeted us when we got there!). The room was spacious and very clean, and the hotel location was great. For those reasons I would consider staying here again if the rate was decent and I would just know not to set my expectations so high for service.

Everything about this hotel is excellent . Every staff person makes sure that we are being taken care of . The room is comfortable. The shower is great .
No complaints at all. And the fragrance wafting thru the hotel is superb.

Just ok!
Probably wouldn’t stay again. Some of the staff were not that friendly and we got off to a bad start as we were told our room wasn’t ready but that would it to be ready by 4pm. We had a look around 5th Avenue and got beck at 5.15pm only to be told our room still wasn’t ready. Not a great first impression. The toilet in the bar felt quite dirty and I didn’t like the fact you couldn’t have what you wanted for breakfast. I wanted to switch a couple of bits around but was told the chef wouldn’t do this. I felt it was quite expensive for what we got and would probably stay at the Plaza next time as the service was much better and price wasn’t that different.

The bathroom’s washing basin is an absolute joke. We can’t wash our faces in it because the faucet juts out too much and we would bang our foreheads or noses against it. Also the bathrobe’s design is idiotic. It’s so slouching and poorly designed that it’s totally dysfunctional.

I’ve stayed at other 1 Hotels. This was challenging. No housekeeping service and had to call three times to have this done and fresh towels delivered. The manager on duty was extremely rude when I asked for this and asked that our phone be replaced in the room (since it didn’t work). The hallway had a medical device/needle in it which was gross (see picture). Room service food was disgusting and when I called to explain this nobody answered. Sigh. The location is great but I wouldn’t stay here again especially at the prices we paid ($1200 a night).

Will definitely be back!
It was our first time but it won't be our last. We loved the hotel! The location was great, the vibe was super fun and the service was excellent. Everyone was so accommodating and helpful and the availability of the Etron car service was such a bonus!

Not worth the price, not 5 stars
After arrival, the hotel checked us in and gave us a room. The room was nice, well decorated with a nice view and bench by the window. As we unpacked, the hotel called us to let us know that there was something occurring above our room and they wanted to move us to a suite so our stay wouldn’t be disrupted. We repacked and wait for the the staff to arrive. Housekeeping arrives but do not have a key for our new room. We go to the front desk who gives us a new key. We go to the new room which is larger but, not as a well decorated and had odd flaws (shades were broken) and overall just looked like a much cheaper room. Also our view was now solely of the HVAC unit which was directly outside our window and the brick walls of the other portions of the hotel. Then we noticed that ever few seconds or minutes a rumbling noise would occur most loudly in the bathroom which was adjacent to the sleeping area. The rumbling led to vibrations and, As many of the fixtures are metal the vibrations, led to clanking noises. Our best guess was the noises and such stemmed from the elevator but as they were not consistent in timing but, as we were from from where the elevator was, it didn’t make much sense. Overall, we tried to block out the noise which, became frustrating when you are trying to go to bed, but we got by.
For the positives, the decor in the hotel in general were nice, and the staff was pleasant, but given the quality of the “suite”, I would in no way say this was 5 stars.

I enjoyed the overall and consistent theme (vibe), of nature and planting using sustainable materials. The attention to detail was very much appreciated. The one issue that I believe is difficult to solve is that the faucet in the guest bedroom is installed too low for that sink and makes it difficult to wash your hands and comfortably get them under the faucet

Not friendly
I was surprised that this hotel has no door men or any other person to help with luggage.
Also when i requested a taxi they called a strange taxi who charged me double without any meter on and when i asked the taxi driver he said we work with the hotel…the man who is working in that hotel had a quick chat with the taxi driver and then he refused to switch on the meter.

Everything was excellent, except for the hotel restaurant not accepting pets.
For a pet friendly hotel, you’d assume that the restaurant would be accommodating but we had seat in the small lobby and eat breakfast and lunch very uncomfortably.

I already shared a review regarding being placed in adjoining room with a family of a bunch of children screaming from before 6am and onwards. No one responded to that review. I had planned a romantic staycation and a nice late dinner and drinks with my girlfriend in the area. We were excited to get a good night's sleep in our comfortable room and be able to sleep in. Unfortunately, we woke up very early to children on the other side of our conjoining room door, screaming and stomping around until we had to check out later that morning. I'm not sure why we were placed in a conjoining room but we could hear every little footstep clear as day. It was a horrible experience and a complete waste of money. Would love for someone to remedy this experience but unfortunately left with a very bitter taste in my mouth, especially after not getting a response to my first message.

Central Park View- Non Existent
Called hours prior to reservation & I asked for an early check in. Arrived at the anticipated “early” time and room wasn’t ready until 45 mins past the normal check in.
Central Park View is a total joke and almost feels like false advertising. Only saving Grace is the valet folks. Truly pleasant guys.

Disappointed. stayed here for the first time with 2 colleagues mid week - the hotel looks great, rooms are nice but small, check in was fast and friendly BUT the hotel bar closed before 11pm. The staff were unapologetic, bordering on rude as we were told to get out at 10.50pm. Not what I would expect from a 1 Hotel...

I booked this for a special occasion and I am DISAPPOINTED that I wasn’t treated better. For starters, when I book a hotel, I prefer to be on a higher floor. I have NEVER had a problem asking for that and have no problem paying extra for that. But the staff here was adamant to keep me on the first floor available to guests. It’s true they gave me the room with the window seat (and, mind you, it was the smaller window seat, so not even the standard size—which really showed to me that this hotel is not at all generous). I did not appreciate that at all. I would have preferred the regular room (without the window seat) with a higher floor. So when they claim they upgraded me, unfortunately they did not. I honestly was looking at some of the neighboring hotels to celebrate a special occasion because this 1 Hotel did not treat me well at all. I wish I had booked another hotel that would have treated me better. Like why would you stick me on the lowest floor available to guests with the smallest window seat? I was thoroughly disappointed in this. Basically—my point is that I go to a hotel to celebrate special occasion, I would prefer if the staff wasn’t so stubborn and unaccommodating. I visit NYC pretty often, and have never been treated in such a way by any other hotel.
Really sad and still disappointed by my experience with the 1 Hotel. It all seemed like social media hype, while the reality is so different.

Disappointed by their arrogance
The room was not ready at our (4 person family) arrival. From 5pm, we had to wait another 1.5h in the lobby area and were given a 100USD as compensation for drinks at the bar. This is no way near what I would expect from a hotel that’s charging as high nightly rates and with five star ambitions. Clearly this hotel chain doesn’t care enough for their customers. I will not stay with them again.

Coolish eco hotel. Small but comfy rooms. No views unless you go for the v expensive options, and it is v expensive anyway!
A few niggles; noisy a/c in the room took time to get used to.
The service in the restaurant was slow and unfriendly (my son was grilled in that NY way when he came down for breakfast: "are you staying in the hotel? Are you sure you are staying in the hotel? What is your room number? Are you sure that is your number? Maybe they get a load of freeloaders off the street...? This was all the more surprising as the kitchen was being revamped so the breakfast was a v limited buffet staring at 9am (free pastries and coffee before that; well the coffee dispenser kept on running out so really pastries only), but still charged at max price plus extra for the cappuccino which took ages to arrive!
Lifts are few and small so it can take quite a long time to go up and down.
Valet parking normal except they lost the car key so we had a 20 minute search for that..
So not perfect by any means...but the shower was good.
Would hesitate to return.

Great service, especially by the two gentlemen that are outside the doorman and the vellet man . Always answering questions and willing to get a cab for you ! very helpful especially for someone who had not been there !

Andrew had the best service in the building atop the day manager and he was so use to having good habits it was obvious if he had made us the focus it wouldve been even better service. The day manager did not care about the view I paid hundreds extra for being blocked and gave no offers of service, comps, even empathy to my qualms. No offer of even a different room. When I suggested any of this got we dont control the view being blocked as each response. Upon entering my bathroom the toliet was not flushed hair noticably long was in the shower stall and white dust had accumulated around the floor of the stall and around the garbage.

1 Hotel Central Park is an absolute GEM in the Big City! It is literally 1 Block from Central Park and within walking distance to so many attractions! We were worried about finding parking - but quickly learned the easiest and best way to proceed is Valet Parking...we were able to take the subway to anywhere we needed from the same block. A Big thank you to Benny, Lorenzo, Joshua and all the others who made our stay ridiculously easy! This Hotel is clean, eco friendly and very conscientious. Stay here without HESITATION...We will be back!

Had a wonderful stay at 1 Hotel Central Park. Stayed in the Alcove Queen. It was big enough for me( traveling alone). Close walking proximity to central park, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, and shops on 5th ave. The food at Jams Restaurant was delicious. Overall I would stay again.

I lived in NYC for over ten years and when I go back to visit this is one of my favorite hotels It is pet-friendly and is only one block from Central Park for easy pet walking. The hotel rooms are updated, eco-friendly, and extremely clean. The staff is friendly and is aware that we are frequent guests.
