Fantastic location and price
Family trip to see a show. This was a perfect place to stay and a great find at a great price. The room hs 2 queens, and didn’t smell funky because they had laminate and tile instead of carpet. The floor was cold, but we wore socks.
Staff was friendly.
Excellent location:walking distance to Times Square and theatres, Penn station, and Hells Kitchen’s many restaurants. Also close to Port Authority bus station- so there was a seedy couple of blocks nearby , but never felt dangerous.
They have a roof deck but it was too cold to use.
I might have liked a bigger lobby to hang out but this was a great stay and I’ll absolutely return.

The property wasnt too far from times square, about 15 minutes or less depending on where you are going. Staff was friendly but space is very outdated, especially the bathrooms.

This property is located in a pleasant area, close to the lively 8th and 7th ave, but not too noisy. You can walk to many restaurants and Time Square in less than 10 minutes. The Javit Centre is also nearby, but be mindful of the extra daily cost. The staff are very courteous and helpful.
The only drawback for us was the lack of soundproofing between rooms. We could hear the TV from the next room even though it was not loud.

I recently stayed at the Truss Hotel in New York City, and my experience was far from perfect. While the room had the potential to be nice, it wasn't well-maintained. Upon arrival at midnight, the non-smoking room had a strong smell of smoke that persisted throughout the stay. Due to the hotel being fully booked, we couldn't switch rooms but were granted a free late checkout (1 pm). The workers wrongly attributed the smell to people outside. The only solution was propping the window open to let in fresh air. Additionally, the bathroom showed mold on the roof and in the tile grout. The location is fine, equipped with a mini-fridge, microwave, and sizable TV, but the lack of cleanliness and unpleasant smell would deter me from recommending this property.

I am an independent travel agent. I found the Truss Hotel online a decided to try them out. I am glad I made that choice. My room was spotless, the hotel was quiet and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Great location too. I will be sending future clients to stay here. Truss Hotel in Times Square is truly a hidden gem!! 💖

This hotel was great for our theater w/e. While there are virtually no amenities, the room is fantastic; large (w/2 queen beds), clean and updated. The staff is wonderful and proximity to Times Square was super. We drove and there is a non-related garage around the corner. Leaving the city was a breeze as in two minutes we were on the Lincoln Tunnel approach.

My stay was definitely worth the cost. The staff was exceptional. The room was clean. The only complaint is that in the room we were staying in, we heard loud music late at night from a club or lounge that is next door. I would recommend Truss if you are looking for a place that close to the heart of Times Square.

The property seem really old or worn out. The room kept a moist water smell which I really hated. Furniture and walls look worn out. Great employees, but if you’re visiting and you want something comfortable and tidy; this isn’t it. Great distance to time square though

Amazing and affordable hotel.
My boyfriend and I had an amazing stay at this hotel. All the staff was accommodating and the room was so spacious and clean! The location was awesome and very close to Times Square and other essentials. For the price, I couldn't complain about this hotel at all and I will definitely be coming back! Thank you!

The hotel was very nasty. They had cockroaches running around on the bed. I asked for another room I didn’t receive it they sent somebody else to spray bug spray and it made it worst!!

Super clean, was able to check in early. Only drawbacks were the lights really. Lighting was strange (the sconce on the wall creates an uninviting atmosphere, headboard lights didn't work). Bathroom lighting was fine, but pretty dim.
Otherwise, wonderful stay at a great price. There was a 24/7 bodega across the street!

Nice place. Rooftop terrace was awesome! Room and facilities were clean. Condition of building was fair. Location is very good (10min walk to Times Square, 5min walk to Hudson Yards, 15 min to Empire State Building). Staff was friendly and competent.

I loved how central this was to everything we wanted to do. Staff was friendly and room was clean. Only discrepancy was the lack of maintenance in the bathroom. I showered with sandals because it grossed me and my partner out. The grout was falling apart on the shower tiles and the shower floor leaked all over the bathroom during the shower and after two straight showers you'd have water leaking into the bedroom.

There was a loud ratchet and slamming sound that was coming from within the building, it must have been some sort of equipment within the building. The noise occurred nonstop every 5 minutes all night. Front desk was no help in trying to resolve the issue.

The towels, beds & surface level areas were clean but there were areas of the room that weren’t clean, the shower floor & walls needed attention.
The room was on the street side & very noisy but did quieten down between 1am & 6am. There was an air conditioning unit which added to the noise & wasn’t effective in warming the room but I was given a blanket when I explained that I was cold.
The staff were very helpful & the hotel was ideally situated for walking to all attractions.

Great hotel overall, rooms are a bigger size compared to most NYC hotels. Comfortable bed and clean. There’s a fridge and microwave on the room We had the third-floor 9th Avenue view. Perfect location, near Times Square. Nice view from the terrace!

This a nice clean hotel. The parking garage is attached to the building. Not owned by the hotel, but easy to get to. My Honda Odyssey fit into the parking garage. The hotel has a gym and rooftop access for viewing. No pool though. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about city travel. We brought foldable scooters to get around the city. It worked perfect. I would recommend and stay again!

This property has terrible water damage. In the bathrooms there is mold at the bottom of the showers, my refrigerator was leaking they did fix it promptly but it was still an inconvenience. Wish I could upload pictures to show how it really looks inside. The staff was excellent very nice.

They haven't gotten back to me about my possesions i left in the room. They just keep deflecting. I filled out the lost abd found form explaining exactly where it was. It was either thrown out or stolen and no one is responding to me.

Nice to have a second bathroom.
Very noisy on eighth Avenue and 39th St. Garbage pick up 3:00 am on Tuesday.
Room was not set up for three people when we first got there. Not enough towels. Sofa bed uncomfortable.

New York stay here
A good stay easy to walk around and near Times Square. A low key hotel and residence. The double queen room with full bath and perk of microwave and small fridge. Also able to open modern windows. The one hiccup was the bathroom did not heat and the barrier/covering of the window made the room very dark even during the day. Management did move us to another room and we were satisfied with the result. I would reccomend and stay again.

Great Stay With Great Friends
Great stay and location. The room was a great size for 3 people. Sadly we never made it to the roof because we were always on the go while there. The staff were very friendly and helpful on recommendations. I would stay there again if back in New York.

Nothing glamorous but It was quiet and comfortable and would stay here again :)
I hear they have a great rooftop but we never had the chance to go during our stay
We mainly just used our room for a place to crash.

Wonderful Stay
My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Truss Hotel. The staff could not have been more friendly and the facility is conveniently located to many of the tourist sites in Manhattan. However, it’s off the beaten path which makes it substantially quieter.

Getaway to ny at Christmas
We went to ny to see a concert at Madison sq garden. Took the train from philly. Train station was less then 10 min walk to hotel. Hotel was also within 10 min walk from time square. Overall great location. Not super quiet since we were only 4 floors above traffic, but not bad for the city.

I guess that's what you get on a busy weekend.
Really no service to speak of here, except a person in a little booth. The even charged two dollars to store your stuff for the day, which is really hard to understand when you're paying over $500/nt. for a mediocre room (with a comfortable bed, however) in a mediocre neighborhood in an OK location. If this place is cheaper than the competition by $100.00, it probably isn't your place.

Staff were really nice! Overall the hotel is not all that but was comfortable and walking distance to attractions! The only complaint I have is that the lights of our room kept turning on out of nowhere and when we showered the water will flow out of the bathtub. I think it was overpriced.

Property is in a great location - easy to walk to Times Square, Hudson yards and many other attraction's. Downside is the noise in the room - don’t expect to get much sleep if you have a room by the road. Constant sirens and cars go past until the early hours.

The staff were fantastic - so kind and knowledgable. We loved the dining recommendations! And my daughter loved how kind they were to her - it was her first trip ever and she loved the experience. Our trip was over a month ago and she still talks about how great the hotel was and how much fun the rooftop patio was.
Location: very convenient to walk to the nearest subway, Times Square, or even take a bus if you're brave enough (we were but it was confusing on how to pay for the bus, so got off pretty quickly lol).
Room: fairly standard. Had enough space for us and our belongings. Bathroom was a bit small, but it was alright.
Would definitely stay again!

I booked this hotel by accident as i thought i booked a different hotel around the corner. this looks like they have renovated a few floors of an apartment building to sell as hotel rooms. The rooms are good size and had lots of windows in my room which I really liked and value in NY but renovations looked like they were done quickly and cheaply, screws missing on on light switch panels, the bolt lock didn't work, no real ambiance or amenities. Since I was there just to sleep mostly it was fine but not great.

I booked this hotel because of the reviews and location. I can say the location is great!
I am incredibly disappointed with the cleanliness of the hotel. Windows from the outside are filthy. Our shower had mold. Overall, the hotel is not being kept to its potential.
Our window was tinted because right next to us was a restaurant, no view, but most importantly, no natural light coming in.
The amenities are very vague; not even water or coffee is offered in the lobby.
I am extremely disappointed because I feel I paid for, as someone stated before “a Cadillac and got a Ford”.
I will not book here again, or at least until I see change from the outside (I live in the area).

This is my second time staying and it did not disappoint. Great spot for people who want to be close to the center but not directly in it. Staff is nice, rooms are pretty spacious, and there’s lots of food options around.
