Me personally it would’ve been better for me if the room had a mini refrigerator a microwave and a coffee maker which I feel are standard for a room without having to pay for it or upgrade, but overall it was a nice getaway.

Update on amenities
We always stay at the Tropicana when we go to Las Vegas. We we're surprised to discover the Starbucks in the hotel had closed along with their buffet. Parts of the hotel ceilings were leaking water which was being caught with a trash can. There is no longer a valet service or room service. You can Door Dash, however the hotel doesn't let the door dash driver bring the food to your room, you'll have to meet the delivery person in the lobby. The elevators had issues the first day we got there. On our floor where the ice machine was located, there was water leaking which soaked the carpet and smelled like mildew. The area which was leaking had cones placed near it and was like that for several days. The hotel employees were very nice and super helpful.

Not a bad spot on a budget. My non smoking room still smelled like smoke. Infact the whole hotel smells like smoke which I guess makes sense since it’s a casino and it’s old. The room size was nice for the price but all my clothes ended up smelling like cigs which was a bummer for me

The check-in process was really easy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a bit dated and very spacious and had a lovely view of the strip. When we checked out, they allowed us to check our bags because our flight was much later so we could go watch the football game and come back. a very positive experience

The Tropicana was the worst Vegas experience we have ever had. We came into a smoky Casio and had a difficult time finding the reception. It was bad. Exercise room didn’t open until
8:00 and there was no coffee to be found, no frig, a 10 minute walk to get out of the hotel. We received resort fees of $125 after we checked out and have no idea what resort benefits we received. Terrible.

Found out this property will be torn down this 12/2024. Making room for a ballpark for baseball. Therefore, very little is being down around the property.

The handset on my phone had wires hanging out and when I would try and call another room or the desk, no one could hear me. I asked the desk on two different days to get me a new one, but no one showed up to replace the handset. If that's not enough, after taking my first shower I could not get the water to totally shut off. They did come and fix that, but he claimed he wasn't the phone guy. The hotel is set to be leveled soon, and clearly, they just don't care. The employees are losing their jobs so who cares.

The property in general is old. The furniture is tired & bathrooms not updated but clean. Staff was very nice. Our biggest problem was I use a wheelchair and the roll in shower was terrible. It didn’t drain correctly and water ran all over the floor even though we attempted to use rolled up towels as a barrier. Didn’t work. We talked to a supervisor and they did a minimal price adjustment.

The place is old... the carpets are threadbare and worn out. The corridor to my room had a section that was soaked with water and the smell was pretty bad. I stayed for two nights/3 days and it was soaked all three days.
The room was spacious. The carpet had a big stain. The bathtub was stained from what appeared to be from stagnant water.

I requested being near street, due to mobility issues, and was assigned the Club Tower, which is a long walk to the casino and street. Club tower has no services, no coffee in the morning, you have to walk to the front Paradise tower which is about two football fields. Great value, good location.

Thanks for the memories Tropicana
Great value for money. I’ve been coming here the last 10 years and always loved my stay. Yes the hotel is a bit tired now and wifi can be slow, however that’s understandable given the Tropicana will close soon.
The staff have always been helpful and lovely, and rooms clean tidy and comfy. Value for money can’t be beaten in my opinion .
Thanks for your hospitality Tropicana and me and my family will miss you loads

When Vegas was Vegas
I had worked in Las Vegas in the 1970s, and the Tropicana is the only hotel remaining that has preserved the feel of that classic time. On this trip, my afternoon flight was cancelled, and I had to shift to an early morning flight and hope for an early check in at 9 am.
Kimberlee at the Front Desk not only addressed the situation with friendly efficiency, but she also noticed that I had a cane (from a recent hip replacement) and changed my room to minimize the distance I would have to walk.
The outstanding service continued when there was a problem with the toilet in the room which kept running. Dave in Engineering responded promptly, replaced a part, and said he would be on duty to 11 pm and to contact him if there were any other problems.
This was customer service from Vegas in its prime. Sadly, mega-corporations seem have taken over many of the hotels & casinos. I'll be staying at the Tropicana for as long as it's there.

We have stayed at the tropicana 3 times. The lack of places to eat in the Tropicana is inconvenient. The price of $11 for a muffin is outrageous.
We found out that the resort is being torn down, i imagine that is why nothing else is in place.

Tropicana is okay. Not fancy. It’s average and cost-effective too. But if you like the old school/old Las Vegas casino and hotel-kind-of-feel, then Tropicana is one of the places to go.

Great hotel however long walk to your room. And the resort fee whatever that is, is ridiculously expensive, $42 a day on top of whatever you've paid for your stay. Roberto restaurant is great.

We got stuck in the elevators twice in one day! It was awful. The room was so dirty we slept on top of the covers and never walked on the carpet or in the restroom barefoot.

Rooms were in disrepair. Multiple of the outlets did not work. We had to change rooms twice for non-functioning equipment. That’s making our time in the room more and not able to do other things. Staff was a bit dirty in their appearance. The whole place is rundown as we were told that they will be tearing down this casino soon, it was almost as they did not care any longer. We also attended a prince tribute show that was not well-managed and stood in line for over a half hour after it begins start time.

The property is not that friendly, rooms are okay but the exeprience is below par. The entrance was like entering an old industrial factory. There was 2 floor staircase to enter without any escalators or anything. Confusing property and services. Its a little cheaper $50 bucks but not worth it.

Bare basics. Rooms were not nice. Towels were old and falling apart. Basic rooms usually have a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, pens, paper,etc. Hallways and rooms smelt terrible, like urine. Beds were not comfortable. No extra blankets provided. Not inviting at all. Would not return.

Tropicana was ghost town very disappointed
First I can say the Tropicana Hotel looks fabulous w/pictures from internet web sites looks like a 50s type theme. From the moment we arrived we parked right off the strip scanned the parking spot in paid $12 to park for less then 9 hours. Couldn’t find a desk w/ someone there to check in at the maintenance guy took us to a desk and then was able to check in we arrived midnight Dec 29th checked out 730am all the counters was closed. Places to eat were closed.The place was dead it was a ghost town. Upon checking in our room we paid more for a view of the strip but window was blocked with wooden blinds. The furniture looked old and falling apart it wasn’t a 50s theme at all in was just from the 50s. Walking down to the room smelled like mildew. This was our first trip to Vegas and first family vacation I wished I would of choose another hotel don’t waste your money here. I was told I would get my deposit back for the room and it’s been 3 weeks later and I haven’t even been able to get it back I spoke to one representative and they said they would look into my reservation because they couldn’t locate any thing for me !!!!

We have stayed at the Tropicana 3 times now. It is a quiet, comfortable hotel withing walking distance to everything. My favorite things are the free parking and smoking rooms. Hotels no longer offer either of these things. Sad.

I had a good time here years ago so decided to stay one more time before it gets demolished. Well my new opinion is it cannot be demolished soon enough.
It seems like all the staff completely stopped caring which is understandable since they are losing their jobs. But the whole place is so messy.
The staff was hella rude for no reason. I arrived around midnight and the front desk person told me because i booked through Expedia the only room they had was a smoking room. I don’t smoke at all so i said really? It seems like no one is here how could that be? He said there was one more room available non smoking but i had to pay extra for it. It was late and i had no other. Choice at this point so i did it. Later i was checking more reviews and it appears they have used this same tactic on other people!!
The room wss disgusting. Huge whiff of mold upon opening the door. And smelled liek smoke. Everything was stained and dinged up. There was a strange liquid all over the inside of the drawers. Towels were stained. Trash outside in the hallways. It was a nightmare.
Do not stay here before its demolished. Good riddance. Sad that that had to be the last experience cause i used to like it.

The airport is next door so it is quite loud at times. There was no trashcan in our room and the bathroom wasn't in the best shape and the smell of stale smoke is prominent.

There was nothing that we liked here. The front desk's behavior and attitude seemed different since we had booked the room through Expedia and not directly through the hotel website. We never knew this hotel would soon be shut down and converted into a sports stadium. There were no amenities, decent restaurants, and hardly any staff, and the hotel looked rundown. There was no fridge in the room. We requested a kettle in the room, but at first, we were told we had to pay an extra US$30 for an electric kettle and then abruptly told that they do not have kettles. Overall, it was an abysmal experience and not recommended. I hope Expedia will refund some of the amount charged for the stay.

This property is in desperate need of a total renovation. Everything is old & faded & smells. And, you have to walk through a smoke filled casino to get to the front desk. The front desk informed me that they work with Hilton, but the hotel is not owned by Hilton. Therefore, how can they claim that they are a Hilton Double Tree property? It’s false advertising in my opinion because this place is nowhere close to a Hilton Double Tree hotel. Don’t fall for that claim they’re making, you will be disappointed. The only positive is that the hotel is very close to the Strip.

Hotel is closing so affordable but not worth it
The hotel is scheduled to be closed in the new year and it is apparent that service and amenities are low priority. Facility is dated and nothing is being upkept or repaired. Parking is very far from the rooms and keycard locks are not always reliable for entry into the rooms.

The parking situation at night is horrible. Guest parking is free and open to anyone wanting to go to T-Mobile stadium or walk the strip. We made the mistake of going out to dinner off the strip and had no where to park when we returned.

Tropicana host is the best.
At first when I got there they didn’t have my reservation and I was asked to go elsewhere. But the hotel host Ralph saved the day. He got us to stay and even gave us a suite. I was very grateful.

The first room they gave us, the bed was not made and the room location was too far from the entrance of the hotel and the location was too old, clusters in the hallway . Our room was upgraded which is near the entrance door of the hotel and facing the street but the room also needs some upgrade. The phone is not working to call for assistance. No hair dryer. We have to go in the front desk to asked and got delivered for than 1 hour because they said the housekeeper was on break? Total of stay is only 2 stars

Double room wasnt booked. Had two rooms with double beds, got two rooms with kings. No roll aways available. 3 people had to sleep on the floor until 1:30 am. After 4 calls to front desk finally got beds. Next day had to switch rooms.what a mess.

For the most part, staff did well in responding to issues. The only issue was room service for house cleaning. It took a day and half to clean up a mess in room. To many miscommunications . This would be a problem on recommending this hotel to visit, even when everything else was what you would expect.
One more restaurant would have been nice with a decent menu. The two restaurants there had a very minimum selection.
