Great Hotel
Top ratings for this hotel. Need a hotel in the center of things (Time Square) but far enough not to be affected by the chaos, look no further. The hotel is beautifully designed very cozy feeling and the staff are very accommodating. If I go again, will stay with them again.

Went here with high hopes because of the reviews. The location was great in proximity to theaters. Check in was fine, but it all ended there. The carpets in the hallways were filthy and did not get vacuumed during our entire stay. The room has areas of being dirty; a sticky substance on the remote, finger marks all over the shower. Everything is controlled by an iPad which at first seemed cool, until it didn’t work and lights were either off or bright as heck. The tv apps weren’t working either. It was all very frustrating. Housekeeping never came, even though we did not choose to bypass it. Overall, people were not that helpful or friendly. Will not go back.

Great location, newer hotel with great tech and beautiful common areas and rooms. It is noisy with traffic and people in the hotel. In room bathroom was interesting- much like a capsule- no fan and no noise barrier, and the shoer water goes everywhere. A little awkward.

Tablet issue
Everything was good except when we arrived, the tablet that controls the room was low on battery, died and would not charge with the charging stand. Had to use my own charger and bend the cord for it to charge. Other than that everything else was smooth and good.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Citizen M. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room had everything you needed and was clean. The bed was super comfy!! It is in such a good location. We were able to walk to most places. We would highly recommend

The staff was excellent - so nice and helpful and kind. Our only issue was the elevator situation. They were not always working (at least not both) and seems like they could use another one. My mom is handicapped and our room wasn’t ready for early check in and we had to use the restroom, but it’s on the lower level and that elevator was not working. Later we had an issue with an elevator stopping at 7th floor and we couldn’t get off that floor to go higher on the other car because the system thought there was a car headed up but that was stuck. Anyways, everything else was great!

I loved the interaction during initial arrival. My best friend and I arrived over a few hours before check in-time. Even though the hotel was full so no room for early check in, we were met with front desk host who was very friendly and accommodating. It was such a relief to know they could store our bags so we didn’t have to lug around the city with our things. They even went out of their way to provide a few recommendations. To be frank this is what turned a 1 star review into 3 stars. With out this interaction I would’ve been left with the frustrations of the room condition when we finally checked in.. Some of the light switches didn’t work, the blinds wouldn’t come down, and the shower door didn’t shut. I expected the room to be pretty tight for 2 as I’ve had the pleasure of visiting a location in Seattle (newer property). It just seemed much tighter. The maintenance guy was able to come in & get the blinds unstuck but had to step on our BED in order to do so. At least they got a sheet I suppose. I understand with it being the new year, allot of places are booked but we were pretty disappointed in them not being able to accommodate us with a different room after notifying them of the first 15 minutes of being there of the room’s condition. Anyway, to end this review on a positive note, the location is great if your aim is to be in time square. Pretty walkable to great eats and entertainment. Be sure to bring your good walking shoes and be weary of the New Year’s chaos.

I loved everything about this property. It was all around an awesome experience. Friendly and helpful staff, great room (so fun). I slept so great, it was so clean and VERY COOL from a technology standpoint, lots of cool lighting and effects - everything controlled by an iPad. Plenty of storage surprisingly for the size. The bed was huge also! I LOVED the breakfast and a true barista in the morning. Great hot chocolate for the kiddo. And oddly enough the COOLEST umbrellas for your use. Great gym, living room, working and outdoor spaces. It was like being in a really cool house. Great bar and food. Did I say CLEAN… Loved it. Great experience, I would stay at these hotels at every opportunity. Will definitely go back!

I would definitely stay at this hotel again - very clean, friendly staff, convenient location to theaters, shopping & dining, & everything in the room worked well. They don’t offer parking on the premises but there were many parking garages in the area.

We had an amazing stay and are now looking forward to booking CitizenM in other various locations! The staff was amazing, our room was immaculate, the beds were incredibly comfortable and being able to adjust everything in our room from an ipad was amazing! We truly had the best experience here!

Self check in was not.what i like, but it was very easy and the staff is there to assit in check in process if needed. Everything is all digital and thr room is controlled by an IPad. Everything is very neat and clean. The roof top bar and lounge is breath taking view of NYC. The bartender is very kind and knowledgeable.

Don’t stay there! Awful service. They had a leak that had it raining in the rooms and lobby and bar.cold not have handled it worse. When stuff happens management needs to address with customers. The details of the night are extremely frustrating and inappropriate. Stay at a chain that has management and a level of acceptable standard of service.

Excellent location for my trip. Only products: vanity soap, shower shampoo & conditioner, nothing else. Checked in & checked out, no other assistance. I had to ask the desk clerk to open the door so I could get my luggage outside when leaving.

This was a great stay! The staff were super friendly and nice! The bed was comfy, the room was quiet and shades were dark for sleeping. We asked for softer pillows and they found us a couple. I can’t say enough about how super nice and helpful all the staff were. They were always happy. This was a great experience for us!

This place is adorable and in the perfect location! Every staff member we encountered was so incredibly nice and helpful. Loved this place! The rooms are tiny, but so cleverly designed. The bathroom lacks privacy, which is not ideal. Other than that, this place is perfect!!

I loved my scenic view from my room - I loved the modern iPad controller of lights AC and shades on window - loved the shower and the lights that changed colors - the breakfast was also very healthy very good and the staff very accommodating- I will choose this same exact hotel my next trip to NY

Amazing location and fun vibe but, ultimately, the room itself was unmanageably compact. Probably fine for the younger set! Still, quite a bit of hair came up the drain when we turned on the faucet and that's just gross.

Great locatoon in Time Square area, hotel in between twosubway ststions a few mins walk away and convenient storesa few doors fown. Great chilled rooftop bar and lovely lobby bar. All the staff were friendly and helpful but special shout out to Grace who was really helpful with my friends late night check in and serving me at lobby bar late night and being the best bar person you coukd ask for. Bedroom was not massive but was clean and good size comfortable bed abd excellent shower.

The property was great. It was the Theater District, so I expected it to be kinda dirty neighborhood. Only here for 1 night but it was great. Comfy bed, clean room. Tiny space but big enough. Art! Rooftop bar!! And the smell was soooo good when entering the room.

The Expedia photos and description carefully avoided detailing how amazingly small the rooms are. The bathroom plastic module in the middle of the room is in the pits. 'Fun & techy' room controls need redesign. Having said that, the staff was excellent and the location superb. We had a blast.

This hotel is great for the Times Square area. You can easily walk down stairs and be in the middle of it all. The staff understands hospitality and you can calm down as soon as you step through the doors. Nice bars/restaurants on 1st and top floors. The rooms are small but I didn’t stay in there much. Beds are comfortable and I could stream shows from my phone to the TV.

Place was fantastic. From check in to check out. Very clean room and my sixth floor was quiet.
Roof top bar had good views, not the best views but still good none the less.
Comfortable bed and pillows.

A great modern hotel with everything you need, the location is very Central with subway stops so close to get to and from airport and also other places in the city. The breakfast is great and worth the extra money. I especially appreciated having a barista coffee every morning as part of the service. Overall a great stay! Will be coming back.

I had a wonderful stay at CitizenM Manhattan and would stay again! The location is central to the Theater District and a short walk to Times Square. The staff were friendly and helpful. The view from the room was great and I enjoyed the tablet controlled room. The 24 hour bar is also a big plus! The bed was comfortable and the shower had good water pressure.
My only complaint would be a big crack in the top of the vanity and a worn sink. There was also a grody spot at the bottom of the shower corner that needs to be caulked over. Not a big deal at all and did not negatively impact my stay but I don’t like to see that stuff when I’m paying for a 4 or 5 star hotel.
Thanks again for a wonderful experience! Looking forward to booking another stay in the near future!

The staff were amazing, friendly and helpful at any hour of the day. We could walk easily to sites, such as Times Square or to take the subway.
Dining options were plentiful and returning at 10:30 pm after a broadway show, we walked without any safety concerns.
Only downside is it was a bit loud sometimes on the streets and we had a night that our TV wouldn’t connect to any streaming from our device.
Room was clean and modern. Just very tight.

We stayed at CitizenM Times Square for 4 nights. We loved the location, as we could walk to everything including Times Square, The Broadway Shows, Hell’s Kitchen and restaurants. There’s also a subway station less than a minute from the hotel. It’s so easy to get around NY by subway and you can simply tap your credit card to get into the station.
The room itself was quite small, but it had everything you’d need. We had 2 closets and enough hangers in each for both of us to hang our clothes. There’s a safe and a small fridge. There’s an ipad that controls everything including the lights, curtains and TV, but if you’re not technically inclined you can also turn things on without using the automated system.
The staff were all nice and super helpful. They have a cafe which does delicious barista coffees. There’s an outdoor courtyard that’s quiet so you wouldn’t even know you’re right in the heart of the city. One of our favourite things was the rooftop bar which is accessible by using your room key. We went there every night of our stay for either a pre dinner drink to watch the sunset colours or after dinner. There was always a place to sit and the cocktails are great. We would definitely stay here again.

Super tech "Smart Rooms", cool adjustable light & sound "mood" settings, huge shower, and trendy entrance/ checkin area make this euro-style hotel very chic & unique. Bonus - HUGE bed is very comfortable! If you want a quieter sleep, ask for above the 9th floor (total of 18 floors). Its a couple blocks away from the theater district, across the street from the Gershwin theater.

Bed attached to window and 2 walls, never seen anything like this. Bathroom so small they had to place the washbasin outside the bathroom. Shower even smaller. No room to set suitcases.

AC don't work in the damn hotel. They are fully aware of the problems, instead of fixing they place people in defective rooms so that they don't loose money on those rooms. Very horrible management

Perfect location!
It is close enough to everything but not too overwhelming. There are different metro lines just steps away which is excellent. The room is small as well as the amenities. Not so ideal for families.

Very good for value and location. Can't say enough about the staff. Very helpful and courteous in every encounter. Rooftop bar was wonderful! One caution if you're older like myself: not a lot of table room for your items, and all the gizmos take some learning but once you do it's a positive.

Great place to stay for a quick weekend to NYC! Very close to subway stations, great food options, and many attractions, yet far enough away to be a bit quieter. The room was perfect and the view was amazing! I highly recommend staying here.

Good overall, except will not stay close to the elevator next time, and cleaning staff is a bit loud in the morning. Wish that the sound of the elevator bell chimes, slamming doors, and the cleaning staff would be quieter from late night to mid-morning.

A wonderful experience staff was attentive and friendly. Grace and Carlos were so personable He helped me do a photo shoot in the lobby LOL. The rooftop bar was amazing. The Bartender was A1. Overall this was an experience and I will seek internet these properties.
