The bed wasn't comfortable and the water didn't get very hot, but our room and the hotel overall was clean. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was good, but not much of a variety. We ate the same thing 4 mornings in a row. Convenient location and ample parking for trailers, etc.

The Gal at the front desk, along with her husband that also worked there were beyond amazing! Great Wings, fantastic breakfast. I will stay no where else in Devils Lake besides here moving forward. TOP NOTCH (at least the husband and wife!)

They have you do an online check prior to arriving and then it seems like we did the same thing when I arrived. Not sure I understand the benefit of doing it ahead of time.
The room I was given, 111 has a cushioned chair that smells and needs cleaning.

I’ve always stayed here with no problem. I stayed here this past weekend and was not happy with the service. My card was disabled everyday that I had to check in the front office after a long day. Was told it’s the new system. Breakfast wasn’t refilled and this was only at 7am everyday.

Room confusion
No one at the front desk at any time. We always had to wait for someone to come out of the back. At check in I was given wrong customers paperwork since the desk clerk only asked for my last name. Then we were given a dirty room so I went back to the front desk to get a different room. Later that day somehow the door for the dirty room that we never stayed in locked so the hotel staff couldn't get into it. They called me and questioned if we had someone in that room even through they could check their own security cameras and see that I brought both keys for the dirty room back. Second room, pool area, and breakfast were fine, but I was really put off by the overall management of the hotel. Also, why am I getting numerous text messages about pre-check in if the hotel staff don't use it and ask for all the info when I arrive anyhow? Do they not know how to access it?

The desk staff is wearing sweatshirts which is not very professional. The desk staff sit outside in a beat up car smoking instead of being at the desk available for customers. When we asked that our rooms be serviced after three nights they were not. We had to ask twice before it got done.

No trash can in the bathroom. Ice bucket did not have plastic linear. Very little toilet paper. Room was not serviced daily. Trash was not emptied, bathroom/shower not cleaned. Beds not made, etc.

Second time staying here and loved it. Beds and pillows are comfy and room was clean.
Loved the fins and feathers lodge. Awesome to have this facility to use to cook, eat and hangout.
I feel like security could be a tad better. It feels like anyone could walk in have breakfast and take a swim without any anyone really knowing if that person is staying at the hotel or not. This past weekend I saw a lady walk in the front door, grabbed breakfast, and then left through the front door again. Not sure if she was staying at the hotel or not but it definitely was odd.
I will definitely stay here again though 5/5.

It was a clean hotel. But there are a few things that I dislike. The breakfast food was not enough to last until end of serving time. During check out day, housekeeping was knocking on our door to clean at 9AM; when the check out time was noon! We feel rushed to get out of our room! I have never experienced that circumstance before. That was not professional at all and bad service.

When we went to eat breakfast Sunday morning at 9am (breakfast lasts until 10am) the coffee machine was broken and the air pump of coffee was out of coffee, no one came to check on coffee or anything while we ate. Also several items were gone, no more French toast sticks, no bacon, no potatoes, no milk, no individual wrapped danishes. Also would have liked some toast, but none was available.

Had to wait awhile before I was noticed at check in, the person working was sitting in a room not paying attention. There were toiletries missing from room, no soap for shower and no shampoo. We never did get the shampoo we requested.

I was left waiting at the front desk for nearly 20 minutes before the desk clerk showed up. The shampoo/conditioner/hand sanitizer bottles in the bathroom were half-empty, obviously used by the previous room guest. We were given a handicap-accessible room, and the shower overflowed its stall and left the bathroom floor quite wet. These three things were notable, but allowing for them we did enjoy a quiet and comfortable night. Hotel property is very clean and tidy, inside and out.

The hotel was overbooked for our first night which typically would be a personal disaster. On arrival, the staff was very apologetic and had booked us at a hotel down the road and had taken care of the bill so we didn't have to do anything. We were back at Sleep Inn the next night and again they apologized for our inconvenience and gave us a very good rate. Changing hotels was inconvenient but the staff made the experience painless.

We went to Devils Lake for a family fishing trip. My husband and I took my parents and siblings along with our children to finally get out of the house after a year and half of sheltering in. Our party consisted of 6 adults and 3 children. We are Asian Americans with the exception of my husband who is white. I booked 1 double suite and 2 doubles for our party.
During our stay, there were many other fishermen. They were mostly white older men.
Breakfast- While my sister was standing in line for the bad breakfast, Sue (front desk receptionist), was standing behind her to refill the serving tray. Sue days in a very loud voice, “This is a complementary breakfast and not a buffet.” My sister turned around, looked at Sue in the eyes and asked, “Is there a problem?” To which Sue responded, “no.” Sue did not say this all the other white guests who were substantially larger than a 5 foot flat, 90 lbs. girl.
I went to get a bit of eggs for my 7 yo girl, and Sue was there in the service room (in the kitchen area) glaring and monitoring me. Her facial expression was that of disgust. She made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcomed. She stared at me until I left the area.
My 11 year old son asked my husband why the lady kept staring at him like she hated him. I told my son it’s just Sue being racist. He asked why we stayed at a place where we were not wanted. I explained that if someone else had told us or if they had posted this information on the websites, we would never.

Staff was nice and very accommodating, we arrived at 4:40pm and our rooms wasnt ready but the service made it up. Rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. We had a big group with 6 rooms and no one had complaints. Will definitely return.

Housekeeper needs just a little extra cleaning done in the bathroom. Found a tip of a fishing rod under the bathroom counter.
Everything else was great, well except cuz of the covid no breakfast but thats not your fault.

Everyone was extremely friendly and when we checked in we even got a free appetizer coupon at the local Applebee’s. Hotel is almost brand new the only thing that I would note it is when they built the hotel they forgot to include exhaust fans in the bathroom and the swimming pool, and the pool and hot tub are small compared to other hotels the size.

I stayed for several nights and the staff made it feel like home. The manager team of Nikki and Rick helped me book additional rooms for family and get the best rate. Rooms were comfy, clean, and quiet. Housekeeping was tip top. Tasty breakfast. Handy location. Great tea selection (you don't find this often in hotels)! The Sleep Inn Devils Lake knocked it out of the park.

Clean, quiet, updated hotel for a reasonable price. We were there on a Saturday night but we felt like we had the place to ourselves for the most part. Cable TV included HBO which was a nice surprise. The free continental breakfast offered plentiful choices. Not restaurant quality food or anything, but as it was free, we were impressed and ate plenty. Staff were nice enough. Would recommend to friends/family.
