MY BEDRROM WAS SMELLING LIKE MARIJUANA. I INFORMED THE STAFF AND I ASKED FOR A DIFFERENT ROOM TWO TIMES AND I NEVER HEARD ANYTHING BACK ALL NIGHT. I STAYED THERE FOR TWO NIGHT AND I DID NOT RECEIVE CLEAN TOWELS.

The biggest downer was that the floor was a tad dirty, like it hadn't been wet-mopped in too long. And the window looked dirty, apparently with dirt in between the multiple panes. Otherwise, excellent!

The heat didn't work, cockroach on the counter, so we got another room that had a cigarette butt on the floor and broken plastic. Breakfast was not ready an hour after it started and we had to ask before anything was put out. Bathrrom was pretty clean but we had to ask for washclothes...there were none.

This was my third time staying at the hotel. The past two years were a great experience. This year was awful. I was with a large group there for a high school wrestling tournament. We were not able to stay in the main building due to updates being done and the one that they had us in the conditions were awful. One of our party found a roach in her room as soon as she opened the door after check in. My TV did not work. The room temperature was awful. Don’t even get me started on the lack of water pressure and hot water for showers. The only good thing about the stay was the gentleman working at the front desk. I wish I could remember his name but he was very welcoming.

The blinds were broken and the shower head was broke in our first room so the staff moved me to a second room and after I already packed our stuff up and got everything out again, my son finds dead bugs and a dirty Q tip behind the bed. After 5 minutes of him walking barefoot on the floor his feet were black.. there was no toilet paper in the second room either. I couldn't get comfortable because it was dirty and poorly maintained. Needs a lot of work!! Will not be back

Bathroom door was so rusted that we couldn’t even move it. We were lucky enough to have a working hairdryer and iron but others in our party had to borrow ours because theirs didn’t work. Floors were disgusting. I could only let my kids walk on them with shoes. Beds seemed clean and were comfortable. Bathroom was also decent.

Not a good stay at all
Stayed 3 nights, 4 days. Room was clean and updated, however I had no hot water the entire stay. Told them day one and by day 2 they moved me to another room. That room barely got to lukewarm temperatures but was better then ice cold. Told them several times and they never came to look at it. No coffee in the mornings at the breakfast area. So disappointed, as the updates to the hotel were good and it smelled good but while most of the front staff was nice, no one ever came and cleaned the room, not once. They said they would credit something due to not hot water and they never have. Going to keep calling until they do. Would recommend to others the beds were awesome and super comfy but nothing else about the hotel I would recommend.

Avoid this nasty place at all costs
Filthy rooms, pool is nasty and overlooked by a bunch of run down apartments The doors do not secure properly so anyone can (and they do) walk right in if they are staying there or not The staff (with the exception of the one who initially checked us in) were totally useless Our last day, we looked for the night shift employee for almost an hour so we could check out We had the pleasure of meeting one of the dope heads from the neighborhood as she stopped at the pool and bathed while we were swimming The private beach they brag of us about the size of a big porch, not a beach you would want to use I’ve stayed in hotels in Destin for more than 30 years and this is the worst I’ve experienced Should be shut down

The front desk staff at check in was great. I asked for a later check out they said I could leave at noon but while I was in the shower housekeeping came in without knocking at 11am. Also the dead bolt on the door did not work. The location is convenient to surrounding areas.

Worst hotel ever
Worst hotel I have ever stayed at in my life they don’t clean your room we had small and large cockroaches everywhere with other bugs as well they don’t swap out clean towels for your very few towels that are dirty the staff was not very nice and the back door was broken and anyone can walk in off the streets and they do and we complained and they said “we already know” the hotel was miserable

So apparently my teenage daughter started her period while sleeping in the bed at the Fort Walden beach location in Florida room 228 and we were charged $150 for damages to the room? I'm sorry how is that fair? I was terrified at staying at this place after reading the reviews and then was very pleasantly surprised and was very satisfied with our trip until this morning. I need to speak with a district manager please.

The rooms weren’t cleaned daily, there wasn’t enough towels, there was a hole in the wall and also a hole where the window unit was so the room was always hot. The tv control only changed channels but didn’t turn on and off the tv or work the volume, and when I rated my check in through hotels.com the manager told me I was affecting their ratings and made the rest of my stay very uncomfortable.

The room smells very bad' the bathroom smells of sewage pipes' bad cleaning service' they give you only a piece of paper and they don't change the sheets' because I leave them naked since I always like to make work a little more practical and I I make sure they change them, plus the floor is super dirty my children walked barefoot and their feet looked like they were playing with mud 'and I stayed 3 nights and I couldn't sleep they make so much noise that it seems that the hotel is going to fall' and they also let people in to strangers who are not guests and drunks and that speaks of the little security of the hotel' I did not feel safe and I do not want to return

Nothing was good , the staff was rude an made you pay a 150 deposit up front an then refused to return it back because they claim they was a stain on the linen ? The room was cleaner when we left than it was when we arrived. Definitely do not recommend this place an we will not never be back .

Stay away. This place smells of cigarettes and marijuana. No housekeeping. They don’t even want to give towels. U have to beg for them while they count how many u give them so they can give you. Smells like mold. Staff is very nice and tries their best but building is so run down and the pics on website are deceiving

Overall property looks shady especially when you come in at night time as it looks like a hangout towards the back part. It is right next to an apartment complex which is not even divided by a fence or anything. Property is dark needs a lot more lighting at night. The doors facing the bay are supposed to be an entry by key only, doesnt work, no elevators. Rooms are big & clean but not once during our stay did housekeeping go by. We had to look for them for more towels and toilet paper. Pool area is a big, nice area but 1st off no lighting and 2nd closes at 9. We would of loved to enjoy it a little longer to relax after a long day. A/c was cool but not cold. Beds are comfy tho. It was an ok stay overall.

Bad before the good but we got there!
Was not indicated that bay view requires you to be in a separate building from amenities.
No elevator access or luggage assistance for second floor.
Ice machine in second building broken had to walk or drive to first or buy own.
First room given to us had not even been cleaned.
No toilet paper or wash rags in room.
Hallways and hand rails were filthy.
I will say once all the negative is overcome the room itself is very spacious and the view from second floor to bay is nice as well as the area to sit out side the bay- not owned by hotel (just fyi)..good proximity to destin and beaches

The front desk clerk was amazing and very kind. The buildings were old and didn’t have an elevator. We had to walk or drive to the main building for breakfast so we didn’t eat which means we did not get our monies worth. The staircase and room had an odor. The room was clean; however, the toilet did not flush completely and the shower floor was worn. Updates are needed throughout. There is a property to the right of the front of Quality Inn that is trashy and concerning. Not a good look. I would stay again once the updates occur.

Destin disappointment 😞
This place could have made things better, all kins of help walking around but no one working. Rooms were nasty had to get towels from office daily, no housekeeping done, ice machine worked 1 day out of 6, housekeeping 1 day out of 6. Pool was not kept up.

Was working out of town and booked this hotel based on its location and the fact it had breakfast. I could get dressed, eat then head to work. When I got to the lodge, the front doors were locked and a lady came to a side window that looks like the gas station windows in the ghetto you slide your money under to pay. She said the lobby has been closed since 2019 and the owner won’t reopen yet. I told her things opened up years ago and hospitality goes a long way with hotels. I asked if they still had breakfast and she said no. I told her they needed to take down the breakfast pictures online since that was a major reason I booked them and she just shrugged her shoulders.
Room was clean but minimal however the air conditioning unit was extremely loud and hard to fall asleep. I would suggest looking for another place to stay if you don’t want to get bamboozled like I did.

Absolutely disgusting hotel
This is hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. Check in was fine. When we got to the room I was disappointed because it did not look like the pictures.
1.) They need to specify there is no bayside view.
2.) the room was disgusting. My daughters feet were black after walking through. The bed covers/pillows cases were stained and did not appear to be clean at all.
3.) towels: we were given one. Total. I booked the room for 2 people for 3 nights and 4 days. When I requested more I was given 1 towel. When I asked for more I was told that’s all they had. I had to go buy towels.
4.) TV: had a huge line across it and the remote didn’t work. When it would work it only controlled the cable which only worked some of the time. To control the volume or power you had to get up and do it on the tv.
5.) air conditioner only worked about 30% of the time.
6.) someone repeatedly entered our room with no room service done. I began keeping my laptop and medications in my car. Came back to the hotel 3 different times with our door open as well as the connecting door unlocked after I repeatedly locked it.
7.) outer doors don’t lock allowing anyone into the hotel at any time.
8.) breakfast says until 9:30am. We arrived at 9:00am to eat. The employee was putting it away. When asked if we could grab a plate we were ignored and she continued to put everything away.
9.) pool area is shared with an apartment complex next door.
10.) BUGS. this place is full of roaches

The room smells awfully... it feels dirty since the moment that you go inside!!! Limited breakfast. Staff didn't look in a good mood! No smiles or hospitality from the girl who handed breakfast!!! We paid for a bay view room... we got a garden view room... The bathroom was the worst thing, Really disgusting! Never going to this hotel again!

Not worth it
Third time staying here and this time was overall disappointing. I’m assuming there’s been new owners or management recently because this was not the same quality inn. We were there 5 nights and not one time did housekeeping come. Both ice machines were down with one repaired half way through the stay and the other with the repairman refusing to work on saying “health department would shut you down” the room looked to be only half cleaned when we arrived. Workers were constantly heard yelling at eachother. There was trash threw all over the sidewalks that was reported to the staff. One guy walked over with a trash bag looked at it shook his head and left. The trash stayed there for days until it was picked up.

Our check in was “ interesting “ let’s just say.. I booked a room with a king bed way in advance to find out within the entire hotel our rooms tv was broke & they tried giving us a room with double beds. We were not happy knowing this yet we were willing to just accept & adjust to our surprise they came & told us the tv in the room with the king bed was fixed & working now 🤔 as I had to go to the office to ask for a renewal of clean bathroom linings.. I was just about giving the third degree 🤔 & while I waited my turn for this. I over heard a gentleman that booked a room with double beds due to having his wife & younger children. The hotels staff telling him they have no rooms available other than splitting up his family & them staying in separate buildings on the property in two different rooms with king beds 🤔 & yes this gentleman also booked their room in advance I heard him say… Huge garbage bags were left in the hallways on the floor next to many rooms down the hall on the floor they put us on.,, We use to love staying here before they changed hands … Now we have changed our minds of staying here anymore.. such a shame.

I booked the room through Expedia for $117.39 and receive confirmation emails. One is through Quality Inn stating there will be an $100.00 incidental charge hold. Okay but I get to the Hotel and it is run down. I am a widow traveling with my six year and seven year old. The six year old has Autism with Fragile X Syndrome. When I get there the smell of pot is about. The man at the front desk tells me there is $150.00 incidental fee not $100.00. I ask how can that be when the room I booked is not even costing that much? This tells me this is not safe for me to be alone with two little boys if the crowd is so rough the hotel up front charges this. I ask to see the room as I need a quiet room for child. The man at the front desk refuses and says I have to pay all that up front and I get the room. I can not see it. I disagree and leave. The hotel went ahead and billed me $109.35 for nothing. Do not stay here. I am contacting the Better Business Bureau next. I am trying to get a refund and they are making jump through hoops but at this time no refund. I used my debt card to book this as I was trying to do the Dave Ramsey thing but I am a widow and I got taken by "Quality Inn".

Our room was filthy, lamp broken, door knob broken so you struggle to get out, closet so close to door that it hits your shoulder, and spiders in the corners. Pool area has a film causing it to be slick. When we tried to talk to staff, we were yelled at and threatened with not getting our deposit back. Shady! We will not return.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER
This hotel was a total disappointment, the bathroom was super dirty, we found hair everywhere, all the surfaces in the room were sticky, we found water stains in the mirrors and microwave, the A/C didn't work well.
Behind the hotel operates a jetski and boat rental company and the pier is used by this company, doesn't below to the hotel, in addition we saw a homeless arguing with some ladies and the kind of people walking around makes anyone wonder about the vehicles safety. We had a reservation for 2 nights but left after just one night, when I went to return the keys and talk to the hotel personnel another customer was already arguing with one of the associates in the lobby, at that point I changed my mind and didn't even say anything to the associate. I JUST WANTED TO LEAVE. My only advise to the people looking at this hotel is that there are better options around it.
This property is in the intercoastal and it doesn't feel like it.

In a word, terrible. One of the worst hotels I’ve ever visited. There weren’t enough towels in the room. The room telephone and tv remote didn’t work. There were bugs in the bathroom and main room. The bathroom was not clean as were not the sheets. The breakfast was horrible. They ran out of virtually everything and refused to restock items. I would give them a zero if I could.

My registration somehow got book for the next week. The clerk at the front desk was extremely helpful. He had this happen before and he looked at the booking for the next week and found my reservation. He then switched my reservation to the correct dates. He was awesome !!!

They staff was very friendly and did state that the property was just purchased by their company due to previous owners not keeping up and you could tell. The main areas smelled clean however rooms had roaches and floors were very sticky in the rooms. Bathroom door was broken and blood stains on the pillows and blankets. Pool was broken entire week we stayed and nothing was done to get us a different room even with all the issues.

The room was filthy dirty. The room had a tile floor throughout and after walking on it in bare feet for 5 minutes, the bottoms of our feet were filthy and gritty. Oh yeah, that, and the roach that was on me when I woke up in bed this morning.

So many things to say about this hotel. First the email for the deposit said 100 when I get there the guy says it’s 150. I let him know about the email. He states “yea we know it says 100 but it’s just not updated”. Next I get to the room to use the bathroom NO TOILET PAPER. Towels were dingy and had stains. Pillows were small. O and let’s not forget there was no cable for 2 days. The only good thing about the hotel is the water view and rentals right out the back door

There is no housekeeping service, there was period blood stain on our sheets and just low quality property but if you just need a cheap stay I guess this would be the place but also there is a jet ski and boat rental on property which is. very convenient

The Negatives: The rooms are dated and my room was filthy! One of the beds had nasty stains on it and had obviously not been changed. It smelled like body odor too on the bedsheets and duvets!!! The shower was Disgusting!!! It was covered in mold and mildew throughout the grout. It was nasty! The towels, even though white, were covered with stains and what looked like oils!!! There were wood roaches everywhere, especially at night of course! There were clearly roach droppings in the light sockets even! It was pretty bad! There's NO carpet in the whole building, so you could hear everyone and everything!!! Thankfully, most of the guests were quiet, but it wasn't super private let alone quiet. The TV never would work and the coffee pot was broken and wouldn't brew at all. It kept shutting off before it heated up. Overall, this hotel is OVERPRICED for what you get here! I was disappointed and disgusted!!!
The Positives: Beds are comfortable! The staff was really sweet. Room AC was nice! Refrigerator and microwave worked and were both clean. LOCKED doors throughout establishment, so even though it was shady, I felt fairly safe! It has a decent breakfast and a cute little pool. It absolutely wasn't worth it! Overall: If i had to stay here in a pinch I would, but otherwise, I'd never choose to stay here by choice again!!! Disappointed and Disgusted! That's my true opinion based off of my Sunday to Wednesday stay!

Terrible. The a/c and tv worked - the bed and pillows were comfortable - terrible in all other respects. Ex. Coin operated w/d and desk had no quarters. Found a dead roach in bed when packing. Vinyl? Flooring everywhere. Rooms, halls, Dirty.
No kind of shelf for soap and shampoo in shower. Odd. Had to put it on the floor -

To start off with the staff at the front desk need’s people skills to put it mildly. I was traveling with family and we had 3 rooms booked and had issues with them the floors in every room was sticky and it was like what ever they used to clean them left and glue like residue. The phones were not working in none of the rooms and you had to go to the front desk for help. In my room and my sons room the tv was barely hanging on the wall and not working and the biggest issue was Cockroaches !!! There was one huge one on the wall in my son's room crawling and dead ones laying in the hallway. They did move myself and my son to different rooms but it took 2 different rooms for my son to get a room that didn’t have bugs in it. I asked to speak to the manager but he wasn’t available that night and was told he would be there by 6:30 in the morning and we went to the front desk to check out at 7:30 am and was told that he wouldn’t be in for at least another two hours and if we wanted to speak to him we would have to wait. Believe me the last thing we wanted to do was stay there any longer

Definition of a slumlord
This is by far the worst girl I’ve ever stayed at for multiple reasons. I’ll make it simple and list the pros and cons:
Pros:
- Great location
- Friendly front desk person
Cons:
- Insanely dirty
- Our room smelled like mildew
- Dirty towels (one at blood on it)
- Low water pressure
- No hot water (had to do to my brothers hotel to shower)
- Breakfast was terrible. They ran out of everything before 7:15
- TV in the room didn’t work
- Property is grossly neglected and it’s a shame because it has so much potential.

Check in was easy and pleasant. The room was nice on initial look, beds made nicely but the floor was filthy and the bed had sand in it when I pulled the covers back. They really have a cleaning issue with these floors. They are sticky, dirty and sandy. I love the location, the amenities and the price, but please clean the floors and put new sheets on the beds when a new guest arrives. I aksed to have my room cleaned and no one ever showed up to clean my roomo in the two days I was there.

Love it but it needs a little attention
I drove 8 hours to from Sarasota FL. Check in time was 3pm and upon arrival at 2:30pm I asked if I could check in early. I was told by the check in person: NO, not only can you not check in early, but don't come back until 4pm. When I came back at 4pm there was a line of check in people at the desk. Once I got into my room I noticed a beautiful room, very happy with the look. However, the floors were discusting. My bare feet were black within 3 minutes of walking from the bath to my luggage, there was 1 towel in the bathroom, so I used it to clean my feet at the bed before getting in. The next morning I was told breakfast was free, when I went to have a muffin the place was dark and was told that there was a power outage in that area of the hotel.
Overall, I love the location, I love the look of the facility, I love the jet skis and boats available at the waters edge, just wish for a clean room, friendly staff, and if you say there is breakfast, there should be breakfast. Muffins and pastries, fruit and juices don't need electricity to serve them.

The towels had old blood stains on them and looked dirty, when we asked for clean towels they said they had NONE, They didn't give house keeping even after we asked twice. We came back to a room that had no housekeeping at 11 pm at night then they tell us that there is NO towels and we didn't have Toilet paper either. We also found BUGS in the room that night. We checked out!!!! Then they charged us for a termination fee and and extra night stay!!!!!!!! Which is being disputed. They also over charged us from what Hotels.com had said too! WORST hotel EVER!!!!!!!!!!!! we Stayed April 2023 I only wish I would have taken pictures!

Overall after reading the reviews I was expecting something super dirty and just not worth staying, but our room was very clean and updated. When we first arrived there was no towels no big deal we just went and got some. Not sure that a cleaning lady/ gentleman ever came to our room to clean up as in make the bed but there was a nice young man who met me with towels. The service was pretty good most were nice and welcoming.

Not very impressed
Booked this for friends visiting. They were disappointed. Breakfast was terrible and staff very unfriendly. Coffee was served 30 min after breakfast opened and was not tasty.

This place was extremely dirty. Hallways, elevator, outside mat. I killed 3 bugs in our room. I did like the walk-in shower, but it needed a shelf in it. I also found the bed very comfortable.

The entire property felt unsafe the entire time I stayed there with my family. Firstly, there were complaints before I even checked in from other guests regarding the cleanliness and safety that I should’ve taken into consideration, but expedia wouldn’t allow me to cancel with a refund (expedia had a stipulation that you cannot cancel and recover a refund after 3pm though check in was at 4pm). There was a weird smell in the hallway of the room I was placed in that was strong and weird that I later learned was due to mold. The doors to the room were ill fitted and I didn’t feel safe. I know the property cannot control the people that come in and out or that hang around it, but the entire place felt sketchy and unsafe and overall wasn’t worth the money spent to stay here a night.

I stayed here with my daughter for a cheer competition and we had seen a few roaches in the bathroom area and they only half way cleaned our room because there was a towel hanging from the shower bar and an open soap with the package laying in the shower cubby. The refrigerator didn’t work to keep anything cold either. Also other guest would be telling down the hallway at midnight when my daughter was trying to sleep and I had to put rain noise on my phone so she wouldn’t get woke up. I will never stay here again or recommend anyone else to stay there either.

This property was not clean. We had roaches and bugs crawling and flying around. Room was very dirty. Showers were a slip hazard. The pool was not cleaned out..

First off they want to charge a deposit for linen and towel that weren’t that clean to begin with. No soap holder in the bathroom, which was small. They offered continental breakfast, however we still ended up going out to eat fort breakfast. The drink machine was not working, bacon was burnt and cold, eggs were overcooked, biscuits were cold as well. The staff were rude and wanted to charge you a fee if the towel were too dirty and claim that their DM told them they can say that.Apparently if something spills in your room at 1am you are not to use your towel, or you will be charged for doing so. I will not be staying here ever again. That’s my fault for waiting til the last minute to make a reservation.

Front desk clerk needs to explain the room location; there's an additional bldg. The room had not been cleaned for turn over; no linens. 2nd room had 2 towels; no washcloths or hand towels.

The worst hotel ever!!!!
They didn’t have cable at all nor a steady Wi-Fi. Even the pool was green like they never clean it for years. They also keep saying they short of staff, they don’t have enough towels, rags, etc to give out. There wasn’t nothing for the kids to do. My kids was so bored the whole weekend.

We brought our grandsons for spring break. From the moment we got here the front desk staff was amazing, the only reason I gave four stars in that category was housekeeping. We had to track them down for everything. And even then they were constantly out of everything. Never got clean towels, never got coffee for the little pot in the room, never got a washcloth the entire 6 nights, luckily I come prepared. However the room was great, newly renovated, very comfortable beds and the bay view from our window was amazing.

A cockroach welcomed us as we entered the room. I sprayed for bedbugs and ticks before we used the bed. We asked 4 times to have towels and trash serviced and were told it will be done. Of course it was not done until we checked out. We always had to wait for breakfast to be 'refilled' for some reason. Usually no coffee, food, nor plates until someone complains about it. Not very well managed nor ran. Seems recently updated by shabby workers though. Save your money and go somewhere else.
