SAD STATE NEAR OUR CAPITAL
older hotel badly in need of renovation. No in room cooking supplies, staff unaware of getting supplies, no gym, no pool, Apparently homeless/ or under served people living there long term. Scary and poorly run. Tragedy next to a major mall.
Needs to be gutted and renewed ? housing or elder care apartments

Good value for stay in Northern Virginia/DC area
Johnny was very helpful and accommodating when I checked in. This is a very reasonable hotel to spend a night in, in an area where hotels are extremely expensive. The Fair Oaks mall is literally across the street making it convenient for shopping or getting a bite to eat.

Aside from being right off a pretty confusing stretch off multi-highway, multi-level, multi-lane, multi-exit ramps, being surrounded by toll roads (you have to pay to use the freeway here, 66 and 495, 24/7), and the seemingly incessant heavy traffic… the hotel itself is great! I mean it. And not having to drive to the mall or a coffee shop really might save years of your life compared to driving anywhere for. any. thing. any. time.

This hotel was extremely clean, and the day shift front desk staff was very professional and nice. That's about the extent of the good things I can say about this particular hotel.
I needed two rooms (one for me, one for my dad) since my mom is in a local hospital. Originally we were given rooms 101 and 102. 101 was ok but the A/C unit kept turning off (even in Auto mode), but in room 102 the A/C unit was EXTREMELY LOUD. The front desk moved me to room 105, where the A/C unit was fine, but when I turned on the light in the bathroom, the fan made sounds like automatic gunfire. I said oh well and lived with it.
From 9pm-2am the following things happened:
An entire FAMILY moved in to room 103 and kept hitting both walls (hitting rooms 101 and 105 now), kept the TV on loud, a dog was barking, and people kept getting locked out of their room and pounding on it. At one point, someone started smoking weed. At 12:45am I asked room 103 to be quiet; they basically said yeah sure but then ignored me. At 1:30am someone got locked out of their room and screamed and banged up and down the hallways. I asked the nightshift front desk guy to talk to room 103, but he was busy trying to convince another person that there were no rooms available. As I was leaving, I overheard him tell another person that he's not paid enough to police customer activities. My father in room 101 complained about the A/C but was told he was SOL.
We could not get out of there fast enough.

This is a total dump which should be closed. Dirty, smells horrible, run down, rude staff, breakfast was a joke, no attempt to clean my room during my stay. The room had used sheets when I checked in, the towels were old and worn out. The hotel association should not allow people to do business like this.

Unfortunately a pair of my wife's jeans were stolen from our room. I could tell someone had entered our room as the fan was turned off.

I left after the toilet in the second room didn’t work. I should’ve known when there was a plunger provided. The sheets were clearly used in both rooms, even had lipstick and other stains. Gross!

This hotel was physically dirty, the walls, floors and dirty sheets. Everything about this place was disgusting. The reviews were so accurate and honestly worst then I could imagine. Everything in this hotel was dirty and stained. These room’s definitely are not cleaned it was a joke. Avoid at all costs!!!!

The hotel was clean and got the job done for a 1-day stay we needed to visit family in the area. Beds were fine and air conditioner was adequate. Despite being a non-smoking hotel, everything smelled like cigarette smoke. Rooms were also on the dimmer side even with all the lights on. The lighting was all flourescent/LED and a cold white color. As a result, the rooms did not feel welcoming or homey. The faucets did not have strong water flow (they felt like faucets in an airplane bathroom). Nothing in the bathroom for guests but a bar of soap and a container of shampoo. The hotel did the trick for one night, but it would have been depressing for any more than that.

"Non-smoking" room was anything BUT stunk of smoke
Specifically requested a "non-smoking" room but the room unfortunately had a VERY strong disgusting smoke smell. Opened the windows and cranked up AC, but did little to mask the smoky stench.

Should of picked a different hotel
Took forever to check in. Room numbers were out of order had a hard time finding our room. Once we got in the non-smoking room it smelled like smoke and the beds were like rocks. Walls were so thin we could here the alarm of the room next to us at 3 in the morning.

Beware Don’t stay here
The Hotel is outdated the halls and room smell like cigarettes and pets. We checked in at 9:30pm we checked out at 4am a couple hours later my husband noticed bed bug bites on his back we contacted the hotel they told us to call Hotels.com so I reached out to them they said they would call the hotel to verify our stay, they responded minutes later saying the hotel said they won’t refund the stay they don’t have bed bugs, then hotels.Com said they would give me a $25 coupon but I guess I’m out the $150 ER bill and pharmacy bills. No hood service from either company and I’ve been using hotel.com for years… so sad and disappointed

The fridge was set way too cold so our drinks blew up in the fridge and we had to clean it. We also didn’t have hot water, we had like warm water at best. The room was clean and staff was great.

Restful and Homey with shopping and Silver Diner!
Nestled in a quiet corner, where it feels homey and restful, but at the same time near alot of cool shopping and fabulous restaurants nearby. Fair Oaks Mall, Silver Diner, Barnes and Noble, TGIF Fridays. Starbucks. Also.. the walking trails go for miles right out the door. Fun to bring your dog and walk around. Safe and inviting. Nice linens. Staff is friendly, nice coffee set up. Clean and in good repair. Love the kitchen, big fridge is a god send for the large freezer. I can eat in frozen food I like.

This was perfect for what I needed for several between packing out my apartment and moving away. It was in a safe location, right next to the mall and tons of food options. I liked that the suite doors were inside a hallway as opposed to outside. The staff was perfectly friendly and accommodating.

Very outdated rooms and building in general. My first room smelled like cigarettes and there was hair all over the bathroom - quite alarming given this is COVID season. I would not recommend. Not good value. Staff was friendly though.

The stay was okay. When I first walked in I thought, this place looks nice. But, the service was not as good as it could have been. The desk clerk heard and saw me come in but didn't come to help me until after about 5 minutes. He was sitting behind the desk, and I didn't even realize that he was even there until I heard some shuffling around and saw him off on the corner of my eye, so I was waiting for nothing, he could have helped me sooner. Then, after asking me check in questions, with me responding, he didn't acknowledge my email address or telephone number, after he wanted me to write it down. The customer service experience could be better. The overall room was okay as well. you could tell that no one really came in to clean the room, as there was someone else's hair in the shower and toilet seat was dirty. The room had great air conditioning and was relaxing. The icebox/refrigerator was very cold. It was an okay stay. I would have given it a better review than average if the other items listed were improved.

I did not like the fact that I had to call the IT person because the wifi was not working because the person at the front desk put my name in wrong.
the toilet did not flush I had to open the lid every time to get it to flush and it was cold in the room I had the heat on 77 and it was blowing cool air

The staff here are very pleasant and eager to please, the rooms were clean on arrival and all supplies needed to make my stay feel like home were graciously provided. I would highly recommend this place to all of my friends and family who will be visiting Virginia. I am very happy staying here at 12055 Lee Jackson memorial hwy Extended Stay America!!!!

The room was not cleaned. I had to check three additional rooms (which they claimed were clean) before electing to remain there. The sheets on the bed(s) were dirty; in addition, the bathtub was dirty. Overall the property is very run down and dirty. Yuk! Honestly, I will never stay in another Extended Stay America hotel. No thank you!

The staff was friendly. The property was walking distance from a fair number of shopping and dining locations. It is also very close to a metro bus stop if public transit is important to you. This isn't the property you should choose if you want a super swanky experience, but it is perfect for a quiet, low maintenance place to stay.

I was surprised at how dark the room was and smelled like smoke even thought the hotel is non-smoking. I had to go out to get air freshener. The beds were comfortable, but there was no coffee maker or coffee cups in the kitchenette. The staff was friendly but it was very dated and some of the furniture in the room was damaged.

This was my first experience at an Extended Stay. The staff was pleasant and responsive to our needs. The iron in the room didn’t work, it took a while, but we did receive a replacement.
We arrived mid evening, checked in, dropped our things off in the room and were only there overnight.

I only stayed one night but for those staying longer, I wouldnt recommend it. The room is small so if you cook the smells will permeate the entire room, including your clothes. The bath towels are very small and there is no counter space in the bathroom to put your toiletries and personal items on. There is an extra work table - maybe instead, the table should be moved to the bathroom. The coffee, tea and granola bars are appreciated but maybe it shouldn't be promoted as free breakfast. There isn't anything open nearby so I had to travel back home without breakfast. For the quality, the price per night should be a little less.

It smelled smokey to me but not enough to aggravate my asthma. I love the fact that they allow dogs! Just keep them out of the 4th floor rooms so that those of us with asthma won't become ill.

Excellent location with poor hygiene. The hotel needs a total overhaul. The bathroom walls were falling apart, there were holes in the walls, the closet HS a curtain instead of a door, the mirror and windows were filthy. The staff was nice though.

The property was dirty. Everyone spoke very broken English, and couldn’t understand any questions we asked. We tried requesting a late checkout multiple times but could never get an answer out of anyone. Our room was very dirty bedding was stained shower curtain was filthy. Overall not happy

I liked it was in a close a proximity of Fair Oaks mall and Fairfax corner but the room was smells really bad, the towels had dark spots and smells like chlorine, the Airconditioning also smells, the blanket had two holes. Unfortunately that wasn’t my experience with same place couple of years ago but it changed a lot.

Reservation was for two rooms for two nights. Property manager said the Orbitz transmittal was in two pieces so the 2nd nite was treated like a new reservation. I refused to sign the 2nd night rate that was $30 higher per room and Mgr threatened to send police to room to kick me out. I signed under duress and marked out the new rate and put in the original rate. Mgr agreed to the original rate in the morning. They blamed Orbitz.

Good place to stay with a pet. We were there to bring our student to GMU. Close to campus. Wished we had 2 double beds, so one of us had to sleep on the floor, no rollaways.

Room appeared dingy and uninviting. Lack of kitchen amenities made it look "cheap". Staff were somewhat indifferent to our requests. We expected at least a minimal level of kitchen to be equipped with at least proper glasses, dinner plates and paper towels. Otherwise, the amenities were useless to us and disappointed us. We chose Extended Stay America for the specific reason of having a working kitchen available to us.

The hotel was the worst I’ve ever stayed at. Very unsanitary as if never cleaned. There was broken appliances and furniture. We found fleas in our bed and hair in the bathroom shower. Stovetop would not work. They gave us pots to cook with that were dirty and burnt. Freezer didn’t keep food frozen. The shelf in the closet was broken and hanging. Overall, nothing was as pictured on the website. We are extremely disappointed and will never return there.

First assigned room had crumbs in kitchenette and dead bugs in the tub. Changed rooms only to find later that sheets hadn’t been changed (hairs!), floor throughout was sticky, and the towels were stained. My kids and I had to sleep on top of the blankets. Two night stay turned into one because it was so gross! Thank goodness we had friends we could stay with because all other local hotels were booked!! Waiting to see if refund for second night comes through.
