It was under construction. Luke warm water for the shower. Was supposed to have two queen beds and we got two double beds.

There was NO indication that there was major construction ongoing when I made my reservation. I am asthmatic with serious allergies as well. I simply cannot tolerate construction dust and debris! I suffered with asthma for days after staying there, then developed a sinus infection as well. I was staying in Spartanburg to be with my granddaughter and her family during the holidays, but was so focused on my health issues, I felt cheated out of this special time with the little ones!

My wife & I were impressed with the facilities and staff....all good! The location of this HIE was great and unusual! We liked not having to go back on the busy highway to find a good place to dine. We had options here & were indeed pleased with our selection both for the restaurant & HIE!

Forgotten Key
In this day and age the front desk should NEVER NEVER give a new key to a room without first calling the room to see if the person who is without ID and locked out belongs to that room and it is okay to give them a new key. We are elderly which is likely why the front desk gave my husband a new key to get in the room. Err on the side of caution always please!!

Great breakfast and friendly staff
Stayed overnight while traveling between SC and IL. The hotel was clean the front desk clerk was friendly, informative and courteous. The breakfast offerings were THE BEST I’ve ever seen offered as a free breakfast buffet - hot, delicious, fresh and healthy choices!

Staff was fantastic, and I loved the fact that breakfast was served complimentary daily. Room walls were slightly thin, so I heard a family next to me with a crying baby; but nothing that prevented me from sleeping. Only room con for me was the spotlight for the landscaping was pointing up at my room and the blackout curtain wasn’t long enough to block it. HVAC was slightly noisy.
For the price, I loved it. I appreciated a microwave and fridge in room as well

It was alright
The stay here at holiday inn was alright . I love the quiet and peacefu environment. It was surely clean but i had one problem again for the second time in experience... the manager , the brown guy with glasses was extremely rude and just not fit for his position. He never cracked a smile at us or the people after us and he knocked on my door rudely asking me to get out because ummm they needed the room.

A hidden gem of deliciousness
It was a lovely lovely hidden gem of a hotel. Staff was friendly. Areas were kept well. The breakfast area was astounding. Would definitely put it on my topless to stay at if I’m ever in the area again. Sidenote, I definitely would recommend a Cinnabon’s.

Great place to stay.
This was an extremely affordable hotel. Very clean. Like clean…. clean! Everything was very good. It’s not the four seasons so don't expect the latest luxurious furniture. Its basic and it worked perfect for a nights stay. I will definitely stay there again if i’m over this way.

HI Express are pretty much the same where ever you go, 3 1/2 stars, a little above average.
Pros: Cleanliness is average. Breakfast is very decent. Staff here was okay. Amenities are average. Location was convenient.
Cons: Seriously, no fans in the restrooms? Walls are insulated at R1, a LOT of road noise. Beds are absolute garbage!

Super loud and disappointing stay
This is my second stay at this hotel that’s as disappointing. I was here for a volleyball tournament for my daughter. Unbeknownst to me they put us in the room directly next to the kitchen. At 5 am each morning we were woken up to pots and pans banging and clanking around constantly. Not a good way to start the morning when you have to play a volleyball tournament. Also the rooms are very hot both times I’ve stayed here. No matter how low I put the air it never got cool at night. The hotel has a beautiful lobby area however the rooms are outdated, there was a smell in it and hot. Not happy with my stay here for the second time.

To be honest, I found the price a little high for what I received. When I booked the room I felt the price was comparable to my past experience with Holiday Inns. But was disappointed in the quality of the mattress, the overall size of the room -- smaller than I've had at other Holiday Inns or even Hilton properties. But I was led to believe by the pictures on the website that the price would at least be supported by a good breakfast. Steamed, colorless sausage links, and some tasteless eggs did not support that by any means. Highly disappointed in this the most. The woman who checked me in was lacking in warmth and courtesy. She just seemed like she was doing her job but I did not feel very welcomed as a guest who just paid $154 for a few hours of sleep, a hot shower, and a lousy breakfast.

Nice looking motel from the outside and there it ended. The service at the front desk was OK. The room was a bit unclean. WE did appreciate housekeeping each day. Bathroom lighting was poor. Beds were not comfortable.
Breakfast was ok but not “good.”.

Quick stop for the night. Reserved online while travel, check in was a breeze, went to in a comfy bed, woke up to a hot shower and decent free breakfast - love the cinnamon rolls. But I left behind my own pillows and waiting to hear back if they can mail them to us.

We traveled to Spartanburg for a Family Memorial Service. We called ahead of time and requested early check-in and the front desk employee said that there should be no problem with that to call back the next morning. I did so and was told then again it should be no problem. When we arrived we were told that it would not be possible and that all rooms needed to be cleaned prior to allowing anyone to check-in. We needed a room to get dressed for the service and was unable to obtain one even though the front desk clerk was making new keys for cleaned rooms. We had to go dress in a public bathroom!

Great staff. Miserable room.
The staff was excellent. Every employee we came in contact with was cheerful and helpful.
The problem is that the hotel room was tired and run down. The sink was clogged. Truthfully it was rather gross. The paint, tile, floor and every part of the build was just not attractive.

Shower walls were dirty, clipped fingernails on the floor under the desk. Late night night, threatening phone calls to the room phone. When this reported to the front desk the clerk was completely unconcerned.

A nice change from our usual lodging while in Spartanburg.
A most upbeat and polite attendant at the breakfast. Troy is a true asset to this establishment, making sure his “ guests” receive a well prepared breakfast. Everything was spotless clean, picked up, and well stocked. Hope to see this gentleman prosper in the Holliday Inn express family.

I loved the hotel! Was traveling with a toddler and an elderly family member and this hotel was just what we needed after a long drive. Hot shower/bath, quiet area, very convenient parking near front door and warm breakfast. We needed a few things the following day and a Target was within 7-min very easy drive from the hotel. Plenty of gas stations, too; and a Walgreens. The staff at the hotel was nice; we had everything we needed for just one night: the softest and very clean sheets; a warm room and a nice bathroom. Would stay here again if we travel through Spartanburg again.

The Property was dated. The phone in the room did not work. Their was a dead roach outside the door. The door handle was broken. Bathroom tub had stains. Window coverings were dirty.
