It’s a beautiful and very expensive luxury hotel, but we endured cold showers during our entire stay due to the water not heating properly. I reported it to the front desk. I called and left a message for the manager twice and he never returned my call. He knocked resort fees and taxes off our bill as a tiny compensation for our miserable cold shower experience. We will not stay there again.

Location is right on the beach. Very beautiful. Lobby is nice. Rooms are spacious and we loved the second bathroom in our suite. Could use a little TLC in some minor areas. There was a large stain on the carpet in the hallway on our floor. No cushion on the lounger on our deck. Checkout was 11, they gave us complimentary late checkout until noon but our room keys were deactivated when we returned from breakfast at 10:45 AM the day we were leaving.

The best staycation!
The hotel is great! The service is excellent and the staff very friendly. They just need more beach chairs for guests on holidays. But given that the space is limited due to city codes, all was well during our stay. Keep up the great job!

All bed and mattresses in a very poor condition. You have to wait 10 minutes for hot water in the shower. Don’t order any food in the restaurant.

Beautiful spot, great location.
The hotel is very well-maintained, rooms were spacious and the property was beautiful- from the mail level pool area to the rooftop.
Hotel staff were also very friendly and helpful.
It was the restaurant at breakfast and the rooftop pool bar that had terrible service. We waited forever for someone to take our order at breakfast, she never checked on us- I had to find someone to get our bill. With the rooftop pool bar, it was the same thing. There was no one there at all on the Sunday to bring drinks or food.
Other than the food service, the hotel was fantastic and I would stay again.

Nice looking hotel but very poor staff service - they literally can not be bothered helping guests- too much trouble. The first room I was given had the loudest air conditioning I’ve ever encountered and no water pressure at all so the shower was a trickle. Changing rooms became a major ordeal due to staff couldn’t care less attitude. The pool attendant on the roof was the rudest and least helpful hotel employee I’ve ever encountered.

The resort fee at this property was a " Whopping $58 taxes per night". Yet the amenities were poor! Example, there are four hot tubs on the property with only one in working order. Spoke to Hotel manager who said he was new and they yrting to get the tubs repaired -- yet after 6 days no change. Both pools were not cleaned out, thus leaves, debris etc. were visible. Staff has been cut at the Hotel to increase profit margin, example, there was only one front desk representative at check in at 1 PM in the afternoon while three guests were looking to check in. Housekeeping consistently made errors, like not providing sufficient shampoo and hand towels in the room after service. This is Not a 4 Star hotel.... beware the junk fees like -- The Resort Fee ar $58 taxes per night.... outrageous.

1. hotel staff didn't locate our reservation, they told me to call Expedia in order to solve the problem, the answer was: yap... this is expedia... if you like better service you need to make reservation with the hotel and not expedia.
2. room cleaning non existing, very bad service.
3. restaurant and breakfast - bad services.
Not recommended at all.

Our stay exceeded expectations. The property was beautiful, and the service was great. Some highlights include the adults only rooftop pool and sky bar, beach service and good food. It’s worth getting an ocean-front room. There are restaurants and shops within walking distance.

Checking in was a pleasure. Friendly staff. For the high rating of this hotel i was disappointed at the lack of service due to low season. Had tv issues, room door issues and hot water took forever to get hot. Mangement was attentive but i felt my 2 days stay was ruined by having to move rooms due to these issues. Pretty hotel, great location but needs better maintenance.

Oceanfront room was nice with oversized balcony. Disappointed with access to room service, housekeeping and concierge. Never answered or gone for the day. $10 for a cup of coffee and a refill was another $10!

The daily housekeeping did not actually clean the room well at all. The beds were made and fresh towels provided. The room was dusty and crumby and the floor was sandy and never swept.

Called at 8am to ask for early check-in before I even flew to Miami. They told me they will put me on a list for early check in and didn’t do it. They said I can request such a thing only when I arrive at the hotel.

I would just say the check in took longer than it needed to. I’ve stayed with you quite a few times so didn’t need the 15 min check in. Also, if I’m paying $25 per drink at the rooftop pool, I would think I would receive the drink before 20 min when we were the only ones there & that maybe they would pick up the empties? Just little things, other than that, love the hotel

The hotel is amazing and has beautiful accommodations. Very easy for Kosher eaters to stay at since there are many kosher restaurants nearby. Highly recommend to anyone who wants a great stay, and be on the beach.

Wake up to a roach scurrying across your feet
The location of this hotel was its best feature but the hotel itself is not worth the price. For this trip, I stayed in a double suite on the 8th floor and had a lousy experience:
(1) ROACHES. On the first and second nights, I had to kill a live roach scurrying across the floor in my main bathroom.
(2) CLEANLINESS. Room was poorly cleaned each day. While the lobby is well kept, the corridors on the 8th floor smelled of mildew and there was visible wear on the walls.
(3) UNDERSTAFFED. I'm assuming the hotel is poorly staffed based on frustrating experiences trying to get someone on the phone. Prior to my arrival, it took several calls and attempts to navigate the hotel's phone system to get a live staff member. On site, every time I called the front desk from my room, I waited on hold for a minimum of 10 minutes before giving up and having to visit the front desk in person.
(4) SURPRISE FEES. If you have a package delivered to the hotel during your stay, there is a $20 charge for the hotel to receive the package and hold it for you.

Pleasant staff. I had a shower drainage issue and maintenance resolved it pretty quickly. Since a plunger was used i requested housekeeping to clean the floors of the shower & bathroom. Take about 30 mins for housekeeping but they did clean it. The beds were very comfy.

It's a beautiful Hotel with a great location and unique beach area.
Prices in the Hotel restaurant are higher than others in the area so most Guest go outside looking for better options.Still we recommend this Hotel to others for a nice stay .

Beautiful and great location. My wife and I will visit again as we live locally. To be candid the front desk did not offer us a welcome drink on arrival (not that we would have had one) but we spoke to other guests who said the same. Everyone else in the hotel went above and beyond to give us a wonderful stay with the exception on the beach staff. It was obvious they were not wanting to over exert themselves and our neighbors on the beach were not accommodated as they should have been either. Again this was the only area that could have been more friendly and accommodating, hate to even have to say anything. Otherwise we had a fantastic long weekend.

One of the managers wanted to overcharge for vallet parking going against the policy of the hotel. Also, sink clogged, room smelled bad. They ran my credit card so many times. When I enquired they didn’t even know why.

I've stayed at this property twice already (5years apart) and both times the hotel was extremely beautiful and most importantly very clean. The staff is very nice, courteous, and helpful. The view is beautiful. This hotel is money well spent.

Surfside is a great location to vacation especially when with children and for convenience. Staying here made it even more enjoyable. The staff is willing to accommodate in any way possible. In my opinion this is also the nicest grand beach location

Property was centrally located and beautiful inside and out. However, the AC unit was extremely loud, the view from my room was subpar (view of hotel next door with construction happening firing the day). Very slight ocean view that could only be seen by stepping out onto the balcony and only them could you see a portion of the ocean. Also, the self checkout didn’t work and I had a 6am flight. I called the front desk and they weren’t very helpful. Not a reflection of the staff - just that one individual who was not helpful and a bit rude.

The hotel lobby and grounds are absolutely beautiful…the front desk staff, specifically Ross, was rude and disrespectful. She raised her voice to me, spoke over me and argued with me when I complained about the noise coming from the room next to me. This was after we had already moved rooms once already due to noise there as well. I am talking screaming kids and adults in both rooms..for long periods of time. The walls are paper thin.
Rosa was so rude when I called the second time..a little bit of advice to Rosa..don’t argue and raise your voice to the customer. You are in the wrong job if you think that is ok.

I have been frequenting this property for almost every trip we have taken as a family this year. (5 times)
Every time we are sad to leave but happy to know we will be back for another pleasurable trip with familiar staff that go above & beyond to make our trip the best from beginning to end.

The all adult pool area was amazing! The rooms were very nice. Service was great! The food and beverage was a little pricey, but other than that, it was perfect. Love the pink umbrellas and chairs! Great for a girls getaway!

Overall a very comfortable place to stay.
Dining outside was very nice under the palms. Food was delicious. Breakfast was also good.
Nice beach and convenient to the town. Lots of places to dine casual or more expensive.
Rooms were nice and comfy and enjoyed sitting on the balcony.
Relaxing and quiet by the pool, especially at the West hotel.

Beautiful property and easy to walk to places. My room was not cleaned one day and the 3 elevators became one being the other two were broken. Had to walk up and down 6 flights of stairs 5 times. Not my idea of a relaxing stay(

Gorgeous lobby, Spacious rooms, Excellent service inside and at the beach,
However, the adult-only roof-top pool was unusable for our entire stay -- broken heater. As was one the their two roof-top hot tubs. Inadequate seating in the room -- only one desk chair for two tables. Also, there connecting doors to the suite besides ours, which allowed the noise of the crying children to disturb our rest.

The property itself was okay but the stay was not. We paid for an ocean front room and received a room that was on the 3rd floor and the view was entirely blocked by palm trees. We could not see the ocean at all but still paid the premium price for ocean front. The air conditioning in our room was broken from the previous guests and it wasn't checked before we were placed, so we spent our first night without any air at all.
