If you are coming to the arts area for a show this hotel is reasonably priced, near all the other hotels and all the theaters. The guys and gals who ran the valet service were johnny on the spot. There were several groups and events here so the food and beverage service were not really available; we used other hotels for that.

I stayed at this hotel for a week in a 2 queen bedroom with one of my friends for a birthday staycation. The room was very clean, staff was very kind and sweet and the hotel smelled amazing upon entering. We included breakfast in our stay which was so yummy and worth it everyday! I will definitely be staying at this hotel in the future. There is a parking garage located just across from the hotel. Food options are available all around and within walking distance. I also went to an NBA game, this hotel is very close to the Toyota center so it was quick and easy to get there! My only comment is for the rooms to have a mini fridge- not sure if the upgraded rooms have this but I will be sure to get a room with a fridge for my next stay.

Magnolia was a very nice hotel, Convienitent walk to Convention Center and the Start line for the Marathon is right outside the door. Valet service was excellent as well.

Room is a little plain and dated carpet. Small tv but the room is spacious. Just a little pricey for bare amenities offered. Valet parking is $50 for one night which is highway robbery.

The room was not to my expectation. I advised the front desk agent that there was a smell and she stated she could have some spray and while it helped in the short term the smell came back . Also the heat in the room did not work properly and there were several lights not working as well. I believe the employee gave me one of the more run down rooms because I booked through 3rd party. I have always stayed in quality rooms and I expect my room to match the rating of the hotel.

The staff was friendly. However the room and bathroom were small and the floors were old and dirty. Bed's uncomfortable, the bed frame was broken on my bed. I read that in 2019 this hotel was remodeled, we must have had a room from the early 1990's. Pictures of the pool and hot tub must have been taken 10 years ago; although, the view was spectacular.
I would have expected this type of room at a much less expensive hotel. I thought the more money I spent the better quality and cleanliness, usually that is the case, I do travel. I was highly disappointed!

This is the fourth time in the past six months that I have stayed at the Magnolia Hotel by Marriott Bonvoy! It is BEST choice for accommodations when staying and playing in Houston, Texas!

We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the service we received during our stay. The valets were incredibly helpful with providing directions to our destinations. The front desk staff were pleasant, however, we were surprised when one person couldn’t provide information which should have been known when working at the front desk. Again, I have to commend the valet as he was able to answer my question.

Fine, but some issues and outdated
Overall, the stay was average. I booked it hoping for a nicer hotel, however I don't think it's worth the price I paid. As for location, I didn't feel safe walking alone as a female at night (but not the hotels fault).
I booked a King room (travelling solo), but received one with 2 queens and then when I called they said they were sold out of the room requested even though my booking was guaranteed. They offered a breakfast voucher but when I saw the menu at the restaurant that was not appealing. The staff helping me was very kind and tried to make right of the situation.
It is quite outdated, the drain in the shower did not work properly, neither did the fridge in the room but I was so tired after travel so could not be bothered to move or deal with it.
Some pros: the pool was nice, as was the hotel bar for drinks. Some staff were quite friendly, others seemed annoyed by customers (there was a conference on at the same time so it was often busy). Bed was comfy too.
Overall it was fine, but probably not worth the high price.

Haven't stayed at the Magnolia in years, but decided to book a room since I was in town to see some concerts. It's definitely gotten overhauled since I was last there. I received complimentary breakfast since I booked through Expedia which was awesome. All elevators were functional. Cookies are served at night with milk , the staff was super friendly and kind and the valet was quick as well.

We flew in from Florida early morning. The hotel said that we would not be able to check in until 4 o’clock. But the hotel was able to get us in early enough into our room so that we could shower and clean up before our show that night. I felt like they bent over backwards to accommodate us. The room was exceptional. My wife talked with Norton on the phone and told him that it was her birthday weekend and he hooked us up. We will definitely stay at this hotel again.

The only problem we had was the Valet sevices took approx 45+ minutes for them to retrieve our vehicle and the parking garage was just behind the hotel. My friend and I requested our vehicle at the same time and he and my daughter received there's way ahead of time.

Really enjoyed my stay. Didn't like the first room too much, so they allowed us to change rooms which we liked better. They have a cab service for a one-mile radius that does pick up and drop off. The milk and cookies were nice gesture. A lot of homelessness and vagrancy in the area. Be careful and remain aware of your surroundings.

Magnolia was a first time stay for me in Houston and it wasn’t bad at all. 6 minute walk from Minute Maid park and from the moment I walk in greeted, Norton the assistant manager was awesome loved his energy and customer service made my stay even better.

Poor check in - room not ready 2 hours after posted check in time. Lack of staff in all parts of the property. Many homeless people in front and around the hotel. Very uncomfortable for young kids to arrive at the hotel. As parents we used it as a learning experience. The Westin 2 blocks down would have been a much better option.

HOT and HUMID room -
We checked in and noticed that the AC was not cold but gave it a few minutes to cool down. It was very humid so decided to call front desk - they sent maintenance that came and adjusted the settings. It was still warm so i called the front desk and was put on hold for 36 minutes, I had to hang up as we had a baseball game to catch. I called while at the game and was assured they would take another look - we got back from the game and it was still HOT AND HUMID! it was too late to call maintenance and or switch rooms. I advised the front desk when we left and told of my horrible experience.

Despite the hotel restaurant being very busy for breakfast both mornings of our stay and understaffed, the staff got a table cleaned for us quickly and were very attentive. We had issues with the door lock to our room the first night and the front desk was able to move us to a new room quickly, which was greatly appreciated as we checked in after 11 pm and were extremely tired and just wanted to get to sleep.

Our room was so comfortable. I liked the dressing area with vanity and sink being separate from the bathroom. The kitchenette and wet bar was very nice. The room was large and nicely decorated. Mr. Holiday was friendly and very helpful. The staff at the restaurant were also incredible.

Not a 4 star property. Overpriced for the level of service. Pillows on bed… deplorable…. Several guests called for towels at the pool. Still waiting on those…Most hotels at least have snacks, coffee and water available throughout the evening. Had to go next door to Hyatt for snacks. Actually our host said they’d take good care of us there…. We should have stayed there instead. Very disappointed at the lack of service.. staff was nice but this place is 2 star at best. Staff is nice. Not their fault. This is s managemt issue.

The front desk staff was very friendly, and the hotel is just a moderate walk to 713 Music Hall, Minute Maid, the Aquarium, the Theater and lots of other stuff. Two parking garages close and late night bars are only 2 blocks away.

We used valet parking and our car was broken into in their garage, under their watch! We were NEVER even notified until we texted for the car the next morning at 11am & we a walked out to see the rear passenger window of our Expedition Max busted out with a trash bag over it!! Furious is an understatement!! The whole inside of the car was destroyed. The valet manager stated they “didn’t want to disturb us”! The room was never called, our cell phones were never called, yet somehow they were able to file a police report without the owner of the vehicle! The hotel stated that they could not help us because they contract the parking out to Premier Parking. Upon speaking to the valet service manager with Premier Parking, we were given the run around & referred to their insurance company to file a claim. The adjuster was unable to be reached for the entire day as we tried calling over & over again to get answers and any form of help. We could not drive our car with a busted out window, and we could not get any help from the hotel, the parking service, or the insurance company. Our entire day was ruined & wasted!! We got up early the next morning to go back downstairs to try again to get any assistance & no one was available at 8:30am! We were forced to wait for a return call from the insurance company. When we finally got a call, the claim adjuster told us they were not responsible for the damage to our vehicle, the items that were stolen, our time lost during the trip, or anything

Perfect location for our trip needs to watch baseball at Minute Maid park! Very nice interior, nice hotel restaurant to grab breakfast before heading out for the day, staff was super helpful and nice! They were understafffed in the restaurant, but they busted their butts off to try to get to everyone as quickly as possible. In talking with manager (randomly) in the elevator there is clearly a shortage of individuals not working anymore in the food/bev industry after pandemic. I personally feel we need to be nice to those who show up to work their shifts and take on the burden of those who didn’t. A couple of people can only do so much! They were great to my dad & I while in the restaurant for breakfast.

Just finished our stay and have honestly never been more underwhelmed and slightly disappointed in a hotel ever. The location is absolutely 5 star, but everything else from the lobby on up to the glorified kiddie pool on the roof we’re just not good for the amount of money it costs to stay here.
The rooftop views are amazing, but to access it you have to walk through a sweaty smelling on site gym??? That doesn’t exactly inspire a romantic view of the city.
Our room was about as disjointed as I’ve ever seen. A king bed offset in the room to the point of only having one nightstand and one lamp on the headboard, a mini kitchenette complete with cabinetry and coffee mug hooks, but no dishwasher that leads into a very nice and comfortable bathroom area complete with a garden tub.
Our room had a bit of a personality problem, it seemed like it wanted to be romantic, but was struggling to also be a glorified traveler style room like a comfort suites?? Even the chair in the pictures of the room was offset to the point where a lamp was shoved in a corner behind it and the only way to get to the lamp was to literally pull the chair from the wall???
The valet service is a joke. $45 to park and to “have in and out access” but it takes 35 minutes just to get your vehicle? They guys in the valet were under staffed and overloaded with people trying to get their vehicles upon checkout. How do you under staff at 11 a.m. on a Sunday??

For the price I expected more. Just another hotel. The roof pool area had a nice view of the city, but the pool is really small. I had three rooms. When we checked in I wanted all three on the same floor. No luck three. I can deal with it and I understand if there was no rooms left in the size we needed, but could you explain that to me instead of me having to ask three or four times why we can not get all three on the same floor. The guy how checked us in acted like he had better things to do. I expect more common courtesy when guest are checking in. I do not recall his name but maybe that is something he can work on. Thanks

We requested a quiet room on an upper floor in advance. They have 23 floors. We got level 7 next to the vending room. The road noise was terrible. They first directed us to the wrong room -- card keys did not work. Shower tub didn't drain well. Restaurant food was good.

I loved the location of this property. It was right next to the metro rail line for east access to NRG stadium. The appearance of the hotel was nice. The lobby and elevators were clean. The room was sub par. The tv was just a regular one, not a smart tv so channels were limited. The remote control was dirty and looked old. The bathtub looked slightly yellow and the shower curtains had stains on them. The toilet was stained and the toilet paper roll was worn down. We came in later that night exhausted. When we were ready to go to bed, I found hair under the comforter. It was not mine because this was the first time pulling down the blankets and sheets. There were little black hairs near the pillows. Luckily we brought our own blankets and pillows so it was alright. I didn’t have the energy to complain after a 3 hour drive and my partner, who had a health condition was too exhausted to care. Id give it a 10/10 for location but a 4/10 for cleanliness.

My most memorable part of my stay was Robert, our Waiter in the hotel restaurant. Robert was the best waiter I have ever experienced. Robert made our breakfast so enjoyable. The hotel was beautifully decorated, clean and staff were helpful. I liked the big bathtub and bathroom. Highly reccomend!

Nice hotel but ...
Over the stay was great but the check in was a significant problem and a concern. The front desk staff rapidly viewed my drivers license and found my reservation and gave me the key cards for my room. Upon entering the room there was another guest in the room who was quite surprised. Seems like a significant security issue. Upon returning to the front desk another clerk took 30 minutes to reassign a room and took vastly different processes than the first clerk. He apologized for the mistake and provided a voucher for dinner (we already had dinner plans , so of no use).

Front Desk is EXCEPTIONAL!
My favorite part is seeing Northon at the front desk! He is always so friendly and accommodating... also is up to date on the area and referring anything you may be looking for! I also love the views and the central location! Easy to walk to anywhere you may need or skip over to the train!
