We had a good stay, was it the best on the Island..no I could have found something that the rooms were more updated and nice, but for this stay it worked. Staff was ok, not always the most helpful but weren't terrible if you just didn't bother them. For the most part if you are looking cheaper for less this is not a bad place, but if you want nice and more updated I would look elsewhere.

Very nice place to stay, could use some updating.
Partial views of Ocean vary from room to room. Booked 2 rooms. One had a direct ocean view and the other had 2 slivers of ocean views. Both rooms had king size beds which were very comfortable. Showers are VERY small. It was very hard for my wife to shave her legs in it. This hotel could use a little updating but for the price of the stay, it was very nice. Waikiki is very expensive. Close to dining and shopping.

I booked and paid for an Ocean view room on top floor but when we got there, they gave us a story that there was a plumbing issues on that side of hotel and we would have to settle for Mountain View room.

Only one person at the front desk handling checkout. Checkout was exceedingly slow due to a party of four ahead of us who repeated their questions multiple times (instead of organizing themselves as a group) and treated the front desk agent as their personal concierge with no regard to the growing long line-up. A second agent at the desk would have been helpful.
Only stayed overnight; would stay at hotel again to better check out the amenities. Mahalo!

Attentive staff, hotel is a bit outdated but provides all the amenities. Location was great, close and convenient to beach, shopping, popular landmarks. Lobby bar provides cute and fun atmosphere if wanting that night out feel. Satisfied with our stay here. Thanks Waikiki Resort Hotel.

Hidden Illegal Charges
I purchased a room for three nights, and paid what was displayed on the website as "total" cost of 3 nights stay, I processed the "total" cost with my credit card. Upon check in, the hotel staff says we collect "Resort Fee" an additional free that is collected upon arrival!!
I explained to the young staff that this is unfair business practice and could appear as a fraudulent activity, as I know Hotels.com is a respectable business, and could not be part of this scheme. Facing no choices, I decide to let hotel.com know and provide a response. This would be my first step

Very good location, easy to walk around and close to the beach. The staff are very nice and helpful. They gave us a couple of hours after the check-out time, so my young kid can take a nap before heading out. I already recommended this hotel to my friends.

Good location. Breakfast is above average for continental style but busy. Room is clean . Garbage truck is noisy in the morning. Only complaint is the charge for luggage storage while waiting for flight.

Staff are just not nice. They don't care about you unless you are willing to pay for a upgrade which is very unfortunate when getting off a long haul flight. Money means more to them then helping customers. The room itself was ok but I won't be stay here again due to the rude service from staff.

PH was nice and big. Beds and pillows were really comfy. Staff were very nice and friendly. The biggest problem is noise. Even on the 19th floor, the noise was so loud from the streets but not late at night. The roosters woke me up a few times at 4am. One of the slotted windows was opened behind a curtain and staff came right away to close it. No windows are sound proof. Great location. Buffet was ok. Maybe some yogurt and change up the eggs from very hardly boiled everyday.

The hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly. We booked the city view room with double beds and the room was pretty small. It felt very cramped for a family of four but the room was very clean. The breakfast included was nothing to write home about. As basic a breakfast as it could get. Like, very basic! They had two waffle makers but the lines were always so long. They should just make the waffles in the kitchen and set them out instead of making the guests make them. They did offer hot breakfast at their restaurant for a discounted price. I believe it was $6-$8, but we did not partake.The location of the hotel was great. It was less than five minutes walk to all the high end shopping areas and the beach. We were able to walk to several different beaches which was nice. It was also very short drives to other points of interests in and around Waikiki. The area is very touristy and very crowded but we didn't mind that too much. Also felt very safe.There were so many shops around the resort, we finished our souvenir shopping on the first night, just walking up and down the main strip. Wish they would reduce the resort fee. On one really used the pool. Walked by it a few times and it was always empty. It was small and why swim at the pool when the beach was minutes away. Felt I was paying too much in "resort fees," to borrow beach towels. Overall, it was a nice place to stay.

We were in Honolulu for less than 24 hours over NYE, so we sincerely appreciated the location for the price, and the fact they let us check-in a bit early. It seemed a bit dated and the whole building could probably use a deep-clean, but for our needs and length of stay, we really had no complaints.

Two issues 1 the keys didn’t work, I had to stop by customer service 1-2 times per day to fix them. 2. The pool is not heated, and it’s not sunny around it. It’s cold, it wasn’t a big deal fir us, because we had the ocean close.
In general great experience. I would definitely go back there.

Very nice property, great location and good amenities esp if you don’t have a rental car. Valet is very difficult to use since is is right in a very busy sidewalk. If I go to the island again and plan not to drive, I will consider going to this resort again.

I recently stayed at the Waikiki Resort Hotel and overall had a positive experience. The cleanliness of the hotel was impressive, and its proximity to the beach was a major plus. The staff were not only friendly but also incredibly efficient in their service.
While the stay was enjoyable, I did notice in some rooms that the corners of the walls were starting to peel off. However, these were minor issues and didn't significantly impact the overall experience. In fact, they were easy to overlook. Additionally, the parking on the website says it’s really limited, but they always found a way to accommodate us. There is underground parking and on ground parking.
Considering the cleanliness, friendly staff, and excellent location, I would rate the Waikiki Resort Hotel 4 stars. It's a great option for those seeking a comfortable stay near the beach.

Just an OK hotel with parking
The hotel provides on-site self-parking for a fee, which was one of the reasons for our selection. Overall, it's an okay hotel. Inside, you'll find clean water stations for refilling your bottles. Washroom is small. I wouldn't classify the breakfast as hot, except for the pancakes. The beach is within walking distance.

Pretty OK hotel for the price, the facility is a bit dated but kept clean and in good condition, and there were free DVD rentals which the kids liked. On the other hand, the room had only one, non-full-sized mirror and there was construction going on across the street the whole stay which started early in the morning, so not very quiet. And the continental breakfast had plenty, but the wait staff constantly reminded everyone that it absolutely closes at 9:30 a.m. because they have to go home. So you couldn't arrive at 9:00 a.m. and take your time comfortably, or relax with your last cup of coffee after 9:30 a.m., they would literally kick you out. Otherwise, we had a good stay.

Dated property. Our room was next to the elevators and we could hear the elevator making noice all night. Avoid rooms thats are 301-1801 (rooms next to elevators). The continental breakfast was okay, however pay $6-8 and eat at the main restaurant. Our first room smelled like urin and we weee upgraded to pur second room which was spacious but loud. I went to the ABC Store and bought.earplugs.
I will say location was fantastic only a 3 minute walk.

Overall, I would like to give 4.5 stars. This place is close to the Waikiki beach, just one block away. Close to a lot of popular small delicious restaurants. All places are walkable. People are there are very friendly. I will recommend this place.
The parking space is tight. One night we need to park the car in the outside parking lot. The
Breakfast is at the ok level. May kinds of bread are good. Only complaint is that the grape is not cleaned well. Thank you. We have wonderful time here.

Rooms were nice but beds small. A little misleading when planning a party of 6 in a room for 6. Small kids no problem but pre-teen and older beds are small. Hotel accommodated with a roll away. Other than bed size... the hotel stay was great. Concierge was amazing!!! Very friendly staff / welcoming.

Stayed only for 1 night. Room is vety clean, comfy beds, toiletries were excellent( they provide, lotion, face bar and body bar soaps, shampoo and conditioner- NOT conditioning shampoo like the other hotels, shower head can be handsfree or hand held ( hope this make sense), on-site parking( not free, but at least you don't have to look for one), water dispenser in the lobby( have to bring your own water containers ). Staff are very courteous and helpful. Free breakfast such as boiled eggs oatmeal, croissants, pastries, toast, fruits, coffee and juice. Huge dining area! Will definitely book in this hotel again! I highly recommend this establishment.

The rooms are in need of an update, it felt very old and run down. The continental breakfast selection was very limited. The only good thing about this hotel is their location to Waikiki Beach. The McDonalds down the street is a nice plus too.

Front desk staff was super nice and professional. Check in and check out was a breeze. Parking was also easy. Never had a problem with finding a space. As far as the free breakfast, save your time and skip it. Not worth it. Lots of places great please to eat that are walking distance! Beach was super close! They give you beach towels which was great! My family will definitely stay here again!

The reason for my one star review is because how frustrating it was with the unhelpful front desk staff and that our key cards shut down everyday. We had to get them reissued every day. We kept them away from cell phones we kept them in safe places. But yet the next day they wouldn't work. It was so frustrating. Housekeeping was really nice though! The bathroom's ugly and very small. We were on the third floor. Maybe the other floors are nicer. We could also hear the other guests. And you can hear them shutting and opening their doors. The free Continental breakfast was okay. If you want boiled eggs and waffles. It was nice that they had fresh food.

We upgraded to a corner ocean view room. Otherwise we would have just been looking at high-rises. The area is thick with other hotels. Many have more amenities.
The pool is on the second floor and never crowded. It isn't as big as the larger 'resorts' pools.
The common areas are ready for a refresh. The rooms are comfortable.
We didn't rent a car and got around just fine. Took the city bus to Pearl Harbor, downtown and China Town. Rented bikes or walked everywhere else.

We stayed only overnight prior to flying to our destination on the Big Island, therefore we didn't use any amenities. The positive things: very convenient location in the heart of Waikiki, the staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is ok, lots of fresh fruits, but nothing else fancy. The negative : there was loud music very late into night from across the street, after long flight and sleepless night it was annoying. Our windows were facing the street.

Terrific location one block off the beach. Room was clean and housekeeping was excellent. Rental car company on premises and water dispensed in the lobby; all good. Just beware of the luggage storage - only one person handles that and he locks up your bags and if he steps away, for lunch or restroom or otherwise (as happened to us, while we had a cab to the airport waiting), you will be frozen and stranded with no recourse.

The pool was not heated which was a huge disappointment. The free breakfast could’ve had more hot food it was mainly fruit, in the pictures the rooms and hotel looked upgraded and nice but in person the rooms were dated. No microwave in room and small fridge. It was a great area and in walking distance to beach which was super nice

Old hotel. Looks like need to be renovated especially in the bathroom. Shower tiles are molded and dirty. Wall paper was coming down in the corner. Hotel staff was friendly and kind. I realized I left my item in my room after I checked out. Called a couple times and my friend even went by looking for my item. But housekeeper seems like don’t care. Location is nice. Just a block away from the beach.

I liked the staff, the beautiful lobby, proximity to beach the balcony water view and the setting sun to bathe in by beautiful refreshing pool in later afternoon. The included breakfasts delicious fruits, pastries. Ilima cafe excellent prices for hotel guests. But coffee was weak and tasteless. Room not that clean~used toilet paper roll at check in, sticky floor by small fridge, white face cloth that had mouldy smell when wet, one long black hair on floor by bathtub and 2 out of 10 days we got no room service at all. Blackout curtain great but had pink spots @ pull edge. This hotel should for sure have it's own restaurant that is full service not just for breakfast. Has a great store in lobby with wonderful woman cashier, loved the cold filtered water in lobby and on floor 2. Not sure what the "Spa Fee" $39/day really gave us besides pool towels and Ilima discounted breakfasts. Doubt we got "seniors rate" at booking time, but heard front desk staff selling this as a real feature to someone who walked in to ask. The beds very comfortable, the best in fact. All staff were great. Had to re-book to this hotel as original pick was under renovation. Went to visit that place just to see it, and so very glad we picked Waikiki Resort Hotel even despite cleanliness issues mentioned, it was well worth it and we would stay here again. Hope they can improve the coffee and maybe a full service place to eat.

Please fix your continental breakfast, I have been treated better at motels’ breakfasts, don’t start kicking people out at exact cutoff time, and I got told to not eat something from outside, when it is a buffet? Use your judgement, complete mood killer

Walkable to the beach, shopping and dining. Breakfast should have some protein other than the only boiled eggs. Choice of fruits is good and waffle station is advantage if you have a patience to stay in line to make it by yourself. Staff is great, especially Leo at bell desk, he treats guests like best friends and very nice and helpful, we will remember him as one of the best parts of our trip.

This was a 6 day sisters trip. We upgraded for $30 to beautiful view of the ocean on 15 th floor
Maids always did an amazing job in our room. If we called for something it was immediate Pool area clean
Filtered water machines to fill bottles. Is fabulous!!! Breakfast was ok. Waffles were good There needs to be liquid creamer for in room coffee. Not powder ! I wish there were recycling bins in each room Only was garbage
Location is so perfect Wish they had it decorated Christmas like all other hotels

Pros: Very close to many shopping and dining spots, and the beach. Room was kept tidy throughout our stay.
Cons: Paid parking was very tight in the garage and the property was a little outdated. Also, front desk attendants were lacking customer service and friendliness.
Overall, a pleasant stay for the cost and would likely come back in the future.
