This property would have been rated a 5-star if they invest in dining options. The breakfast was a horrible selection for the price per night. The pool was clean and the jacuzzi was warm, EXCEPT, the jets were not working. I honestly would get rid of the daily breakfast and re-invest into fixing the jacuzzi

Room was average, nothing special . The people checking in the same time we did paid 90.00 less for the same room. There were 3 kids under 12 that were left at the pool for 2-3 hours alone. We had to ask for towels at the pool. They messaged us that they cleaned our room and they didn’t even go in our room.

Beautiful resort with private beach
Very impressed by how beautiful the resort is, amazing views everywhere you look. Staff was very nice, especially Anthony. Enjoyed the hot tub and warm swimming pool in the evening and sitting on the beach during sunset. Nice breakfast by the beach. Spacious room that opens to a back porch. Only minor complaint is the bathroom is quite small so limited space to put toiletries.

Wonderful staff who were extremely inviting and courteous. Very laid back resort with clean modern rooms, excellent pools and hot tub, water sports available and breakfast was all we needed each morning. Resort is close to dining and shopping opportunities. We definitely will be back.

FANTASTIC Place to stay!! PERIOD. Rooms and property are beautiful. People are wonderful. Very peaceful and beautiful views of the Atlantic ocean. Breakfast was wonderful and the man working there was very attentive to all. Real nice sevice at breakfast. Mimosa's are a VERY nice touch. Crew working was VERY friendly. Restaurants next to the hotel so you really never need to leave. WE had a wonderful time and WILL be BACK! Peaceful and worth it.

Great views, spacious and clean room, and convenient location to drive to restaurants and other Keys! The property was safe and quiet. There were kayaks, paddle boards, and life jackets available as well as boat rentals on site. The one downside was the breakfast was very limited on options but it was available for
6-11 am. Overall a great value for a beautiful spot!

A beautiful stay at Chesapeake. It was not very busy, and we don’t know why. The place was beautiful, beach was incredible. And amenities superb. It seemed like we found a fabulous hidden secret in Islamorada. Two pools, a decent complimentary breakfast. And free use of paddle boards and kayaks. Would definitely recommend…but don’t want it to get too busy because we loved having a place to ourselves!

This was the best getaway from the busy city life! The ocean view room was fantastic and clean! The staff were kind and breakfast was generous for continental. The only disappointment I had was the charge for my emotional support animal. Although they were accommodating, they were strict about your pet needing to be specifically a service animal and not EMS pet.

Stayed at this outdoor hotel like resort this past week with my significant other, really enjoyed how quite and secluded the property felt. Was small and boutique like right on the beach very private and warm feeling, great for couples or small families. Staff was very friendly and attentive let us late check out, there prices for the snacks and such sold inside the lobby on the expensive side… Bought a fishing rod and was able to fish on the property with no issue and actually caught fish and cooked them. Would definitely stay here again we had fun

We enjoyed our 4 night stay and were upgraded to a villa ! It was wonderful, clean, spacious, modern, nice bathroom and kitchenette. The breakfast included in the sunshine room was also a nice added touch.
The hot tub was good but jets not working, and the 2 beautiful pools were too cold to enjoy? It was too windy for us to enjoy the beach and kayaks during our stay.

Really nice place. The only downside is the bar next door was playing karaoke at night so we couldn’t sit on our balcony. If you want quiet patio time, I’d suggested the right side of the resort.

Perfect Family Christmas Vacation
We had the best time here. The resort was great. It was quiet. The staff members are so nice. Chris, Renee and Shaniqua went above and beyond during our stay. The pool was great. The beach was nice. We stayed in a villa, which was incredible. Perfect for our family. So much room. The sunrises in the beach are out of this world. It’s so close to tons of restaurants and perfectly situated between Miami and key west, so you can drive to anywhere you want. We will absolutely stay here again in the future

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. The property is modern and clean and the room was spacious and spotless. The view and the little beach are incredible! We did not get to swim, as it was very rainy but if we come back to this area we would definitely stay here again.

Chesapeake Resort is a wonderful place to stay! The rooms are big and comfortable, the beach is perfect for relaxing (and there are two pools if you prefer to be sand free), the free use of kayaks a fun perk and the staff are helpful and lovely. Book a room facing the water if you can- waking up to the ocean everyday and sitting out on the deck at night after a day of exploring was the best.

The whole resort team were amazing. From the front desk, the housekeep team, the breakfast team, and the ground keeps, were all pleasant. My spouse birthday was made very special by the whole team. I have no complaints.

The property is located in a beautiful area and beach/sea are VERY nice. It is quiet, clean, the room is nice, no issues. However, this hotel charges over $400/NIGHT (with taxes), which is a lot of money for a room to sleep in and for over $400/night I expect for everything to be PERFECT. Well.... I got a text message that said "Is there anything I can send to the room for you today like towels or toiletries"? I did not reply as I did not need towels or soap.... and THEY DID NOT CLEAN THE ROOM because " i did not reply". The room was dirty and we had to re-do our own bed... at over $400/night??? what is this, a motel 6 on steroids??
Beach: nice, but most of the lounge chairs were broken and we had to "race" in the morning to find "good ones", as the broken ones were really uncomfortable to sit in.
Overall: nice, but with these problems it is not a $400 hotel per night. I hope they fix these issues, because the place and the people working there seem to be nice.

We had a great room/rooms, a mini 2 bedroom, kind of unexpected, really nice clean place, all the workers very friendly, helpful and courteous, this is a place to stay if you dont mind driving a bit to see other Keys, well worth the Money and You can take others as well, or room could accomodate 5/6 people comfortably!!!!

The beach, pool, and hot tub were beautiful and clean. The rooms were nicely appointed, clean, large shower, with a very comfortable bed. Definitely will be staying again!

Our view from the room was beautiful. Started out as a quiet resort until the construction started. After the second day we left the property and had to find something else to do. So much for relaxing by the pool.
There was a smell that we noticed on the first day. Smelled like something died. By day 3 I searched all over the room. Never looked in the when we arrived since we never needed to use it, but then opened it. Food from whoever stayed there last was left in there.
Nothing to do at all at the resort. No music. No restaurant. No workout room. Should do my research better next time.
A few of the ladies at the front desk were helpful but only took off $5 for housekeeping for the removal of the rotting food. Hotel fees are $40 a day. Couldn’t use the kayaks due to wind, although others used them in a different windy day. Thank goodness the weather was beautiful.

It’s a pretty nice hotel. Rooms clean, great views, good location, friendly staff, especially the breakfast hostess. Although it’s only continental no restaurant. My only complaints the hot tub didn’t work and gravel covers the whole parking area that gets in your sandals and can’t roll suitcases

Wonderful experience & enjoyed our stay very much. Beautiful views & staff was very friendly. Each day we received a text message in regards to anything we may need. Chris served up a great breakfast, best coffee & enjoyed his selection of music. We didn’t want to leave. Great job Chesapeake Resort!!

This place is clean. But is nothing like the website or hotels.com depicted. Derrick at the front desk super nice and on point. Carol seemed lost and confused, but she was nice. The rooms look nothing like the pictures,The beautiful beach is not at all as it looks on the site. It’s nice but very small. I must say that it’s obvious they are making improvements. But to charge a nightly price that they are, you would expect much more. I would give it a 2.5 star out of 5. Again, not saying it was terrible, it was just ok.

The resort was very nice. The resort only had one Tiki hut on the beach. A few more would have been a good thing. It would have been nice to have some music playing while we were on the beach. Oh, I did have an issue with my WiFi not working.

Property was definitely not as nice as the pictures depicted. Property allows pets, so there was a dog barking non stop. The pets owners left it unattended in the room next to us. The staff working the front desk were ok. I wouldn’t describe them as overly friendly or accommodating.

We experienced terrible sleep. The AC had an issue causing it to turn on and off constantly with a humming engine noise. 4th visit here this year and was disappointed. I usually have a good experience.

Loud hotel
This hotel is not meant for people that like to sleep and it is not insulated well and you can hear everything your neighbors do. I complained to the front about the late night loudness and they didn’t really care. Otherwise the rooms were decent and the beach was nice.

Overall, nice stay! Easy check in with champagne! Complimentary little breakfast near the beach. Room Was clean and very nice.
It did take us 4 hrs to get fresh towels, and a refresh service for the room Was not offered, which is why we had to request towels.
Complimentary kayaks were super fun!
We would stay again.

Beautiful hotel/resort complex. Probably "basic" compared to a couple others in the area, but overall I liked it. We didn't really have time to enjoy the pool and the watersports, but it was a nice bonus they included 2 hours free.

This place is a renovated hotel. The renovations are mediocre. The view and grounds are beautiful but the pictures are definitely done to make you think differently. The staff was not very attentive because we would have to ask for things more than once or twice. All the shampoo, conditioner and lotion are in big multiuser bottles and they were empty. This place is not close to Key West. If you just want to go chill this place would be ok.

Upon arriving, we were greeted by an upbeat positive staff who were very helpful and personable. the pool, hot tub, common areas, room were maintained and clean. There were a couple oddities that weren't a big deal but as a contractor, really bugged me. The bathroom: toilet paper holder 4" from the toilet, a bottle of soap mounted directly over the GFI outlet, Mixing valve/shower handle not mounted and moved around. Otherwise everything was great!

Do not stay there unless you are on low budget! We left within 1 hour after check in. It is unsafe, especially for children.

It was very clean and pretty hotel.The location was great! Looking out at the water every morning was awesome. Canoes and paddle board were available. The only part that was not that good was we never got room service. The front desk told us to ask house cleaning and we did but never received it.

Make sure you set aside some time to spend at the resort! From the pools, spa, private beach, beach games, and water sports...there's so much to see and do! Chris, who worked at the breakfast, was friendly, professional, helpful, and an overall nice guy!

The property is “renovated” but all they’ve done is paint the exterior. Staff is poor. No one ever around. Roaches were in the cabinet where the refrigerator is. I slept with the lights on at night for fear of roaches. When I checked out a day early, they would not refund my last night. Poor property. Do not stay.

The property was as described. However our toilet did not flush. The shower did not drain and the fridge was not cold. Maintenance came and tried fixing the toilet. The fridge wasn’t a big deal we bought ice and a cooler. The shower got a bit annoying but we just went with it.

This hotel is trying to be a Boutique hotel with total costs nearing $400 per night and it is falling way short. The service at the front desk is deplorable, only one of the three people I interacted with acted like they wanted to work there. The beach chairs are all sagging and worn out. They have table near the the pool that only serves only mixed drinks made with Barefoot wine, and all the signage is pieces of paper. There is no food available except for convenience store snacks at the front desk and the prepackaged breakfast items that are delivered to your room. There is not even place to get a cold drink of water. There were no beach towels available early in the morning. There is no housekeeping service unless you ask for it, which I found totally unacceptable for an expensive boutique resort. The beach is shallow and very mucky except for one area where they cleaned out a path to walk. On a positive note, the rooms at this resort are very nice and the cleaning is very good. Our room that faced the ocean are also had a wonderful view.
