A magical place.
Cleanliness of the place impressed me, I forgot the name of the receptionist, I forgot the name of the receptionist, I know she was of Chinese origin with a lot of respect, pleasant, attentive, she explained everything to us. We return as soon as we can.

Resort was really nice BUT there were barely any options for eating which is a big thing since your so far in it isn’t easy to just order something or go somewhere and eat out. We ate at the same restaurant the whole trip and it was NOT great. There is 0 service in there as well. No housekeeping either. Rodeo was nice. Wouldn’t go again for the money you pay.

Travelling from the UK we found this to be a great experience all activities were excellent Rodeo was brilliant luxury glamping was amazing staff were very friendly and helpful definitely would consider returning maybe when they have the new safari area apparently coming soon would definitely recommend for that cowboy experience

I was very disappointed because all their activities were not available! I wanted to do rock climbing,zipline not available anymore. Everything close at 3pm. The only place to eat open at 5pm. This place is beautiful but is in a middle of nowhere,so to find a place to you need to drive 25 miles away. I booked this place for theirs activities but there was nothing to do.The place is beautiful and clean.

We love the property and the experiences that it brings. It offers so much to do. It's perfect for families, couples and mother daughter get away. Perfect getaway from work and phones ..The only negative in our trip was the poor management of the dining and bar staff. The staff argued with each other in front of customers and the bar staff were not pleasant. They could use some PUBLIX training. We do plan to come back and I will recommend the ranch to others. I just hope they hire a good manager in food and beverage.

I never write bad reviews but this property is very badly managed.
- Rooms are VERY OLD and not well equipped
- Staff is very unhappy and they look overworked. Therefore not pleasant
-Very limited dining options.
-*** The property is a ranch and supposed to be Pet friendly, this is a real joke because dogs are NOT allowed basically anywhere. I have a very well behaved service dog and it was a nightmare to be able to even eat at the restaurant. Don't advertise what you are not !
Will not be returning. Horrible experience and its a pity because they have so much potential.

We followed check in procedure of calling an hour before arrival. Had to wait over an hour for room. Room had stale smell not like it had just been cleaned. Gift shop closed early. No bartender so bar was closed. The food however was very good.

The Ranch was evacuated due to Ivan. They failed to call us or contact us to let us know. 2.5 hr drive for no reason not to mention the use of fuel when all the gas stations were closed. Received an email at 7;30 pm way too late!!!!

River Ranch 1st time

Easter weekend stay
The stay overall was good. The mattresses need to be replaced, the squeaking on every turn would wake up everyone in the room. Other than that, some minor details but the stay and our time there was great! The kids had an amazing time.

Great weekend getaway, pure Americana!
Love this place, had another great stay and saw the Rodeo which should not be missed! Went skeet shooting and shot with a bow and arrow and my gf did both too. This place is not a luxury place and isn't really supposed to be. It's super fun. Had a great time at the saloon, fantastic live band playing country music with an amazing guitarist and violinist rocking out. My girlfriend and I danced and she learned line dancing, cool fun time.

We checked in around 2:30 pm. The room wasn’t ready till 7:30 pm. How frustrating. Bathroom floor was dirty with some Cobb webs on bathroom door. Coming up the stairs to our room the deck was filthy. When we finally checked in at 7:30 pm, the person behind the front desk gave no apology and seemed very annoyed by us.

Made up for a long check-in.
I want to update my review. After the check in issues I spoke to a manager finally and she did everything she could to make up for what happened. Moving forward from that we had an amazing vacation. The new swamp buggy driver was great and provided an excellent tour. We truly had a relaxing weekend on the ranch and will be back soon.

The resort is amazing!!!! I loved it
But, customer service is not the best. Lack of personal. Employees at the front desk are very stressed out.
Also, there are not many food options. You have to eat what’s available. Once you’re on the property is difficult to get out since it’s located far way area from any close town.

We had an amazing time, we did everything in 2 days. Live band on Saturday was really good and the Rodeo was a blast.
Only problem we had was with the Director of HorseBack Riding, Sarah.
Her attitude and demeanor to at least us was very bad. I dont know if it was beacuse we are not american, or that is just the attitude she has for any customer. Due to lighting our ride had to be moved twine and eventually cancel for that day and reschedule for the next day. We called the next day and try to confirm in the morning beacuse the weather was still bad (raining all day) and the operator told us to call back at 9 am which is the time they open. When we went to the offc in person at 9am she had moved us again to the 3pm ride without even calling us. When we questioned her she give us a rude response didn't even let us explain and wouldn't even refund our money. We had to go back to the front desk and get the refund by the Manager/Supervisor. The next day that we ask for a confirmation of the refund. The Supervisor sent us to the Director due to she couldn't give us the print as she didn't process the refund herself. We went to see the Director Sarah and again, rude answer and not helping at all. Wouldn't even let me finish a sentence. We left without a confirmation that the refund was process and very frustrated with the poor behavior of this employee.
That was the only disappointment. This place is amazing to go with kids but with employees like her makes a great memory bitter.

Very disappointing experience. Great concept and the potential is endless. Our 2 bedroom cottage lodge was very dirty. We bought tickets for our family of 4 for the rodeo it was pouring down rain and lightening so I asked for a refund but told no refund if we decided not to attend so we sat in the pouring down rain and felt unsafe due to lightening so we left early. The horses and barn animals were sweating profusely and panting. It was very sad to observe.

4 day trip to River Ranch to see Rodeo
Room was very clean, but a little dated. The tub and table in the room was in need of repair. WIFI was spotty at best. The Rodeo was very good. The food and service at the only restaurant on-site was not good at all. The activities were OK a little pricey though. The golf cart rental is not cheap.

Food is awful, house keeping walked into the room at 8:45 am to clean room on the last day. We were in bed, my kids were terrified and my wife screaming. It was a male and made us feel very uncomfortable. Room smells very bad.

We went Glamping for a long weekend at Westgate. The glamping tent was very comfortable and the area it was located was beautiful. We enjoyed the resort very much. There were many activities for the family to do and we loved the rodeo. My only complaints may be the slow service throughout. We were suppose to have a personal concierge that you text with the glamping area and the response was very slow if any at all. I think for that price point there should have been a little better service. Other than that, it was a great time and I would definitely go back.

I know when they opened microwave, used a bathroom, etc. pet friendly resort, our neighbors dog barked at anyone who walked by. Had no cell service and unlimited wifi on my personal plan was inaccessible. Unacceptable.

The hotel could offer all inclusive package
In my point of view they could offer all inclusive package because almost all attractions are paid / a la cart 😭and expensive . The adventure park was closed , the golf car to rent is too expensive (U$ 70 per 24 hours ), the horseback riding is 45 per 45 minutes. Only the petting farm is free, the rest is all paid . Also the shows and rodeo are on weekends only , if you go during weekdays you will not have any attraction . Also they do not offer free wi fi.

A great place for a family vacation. A beautiful, thematic property with tons of activities. Many visitors get into the western theme, wearing cowboy hats and plaid shirt, which really adds to the ambiance of the place. The activities range in prices from free to a substantial per person fee, so it is a good idea to plan ahead to stay in your budget. Definitely will be back!

Being that we are not Westgate owners we spent premium money for a Glamping experience for my nieces birthday. The pictures definitely were a far cry from the actual tent we stayed in, although comfortable and far better than tent camping. I felt it was missing that “luxury” feel that we paid for. We had a private bath - but the bath house hallway was not cleaned once while we were there. They said housekeeping doesn’t come bc of Covid but I felt the high touch areas needed to be disinfected. The hallway was also filthy from all the mulch and mud the rain brought to us. The rodeo was great. There is plenty to do but you better expect to pay premium cost for those activities. I personally don’t like to fell like I’m being “nickeled and dimed” although it was much more than nickels or dimes that came out of my pocket!! The staff was incredibly sweet and kind. I wouldn’t say they went out of their way though to go above and beyond. This was a one time trip for us to mark it off our list and we did enjoy making memories with our kids.

The summer may not be the best tome to visit but all in all the property has the potential to be much more than it was when we visited. Many of the amenities were closed “due to Covid” which was confusing because there were no mandated restrictions other than face masks at the time of our visit. We stayed in a room in the Lodge which was very run down and outdated. The price we paid demanded much more. The glamping, cottages and tepees would be the way to go. The staff was courteous but you could see they were frustrated with the rules and overreaction they were asked to enforce. We had fun but felt robbed of what could have been a great weekend.

The resort is nice with a lot of activities. The rodeo is a plus. Really looks like you are in a farm. The downside was the cleanliness of our accommodation, almost looked like it wasn’t clean between guests. Another thing is they just have one restaurant with limited ours and closest food place from there is 30min.

Great secluded getaway, great people
It’s a great place to go away if you like the secluded vibe, nature, small village feel, etc. I loved it! One thing is- have your expectations straight. The resources are limited- small store with essential items - convenience store type, Starbucks, and pizza/deli. I will bring food/ fruits with me next time for sure, because the closest town with grocery stores/restaurant is a good half hour drive minimum.
Awesome for family time/picnics, bbq, biking around, camping too!
Currently no horseback riding lessons, only short trail rides (45min)

We stayed in the Rail Club cars and it was wonderful. Only complaint that the adventure Park only opened at 3.00 pm and it rained every afternoon. So the kids could not enjoy the Adventure Park as much.

We stay in a Glampling and it was incredible. Everything was thinking to have a great outdoor experience without the typical camping inconveniences. Beds are very comfortable and air conditioning is a bless. The resort is beautiful and my teens have a great time doing all the activities like archery, Shooting range and those at the activity park. The only issues that we had it was at the marina were the person there was very bad attitude and was very rude when we asked for information and she really doesn't want to help us. The rest of the staff was great, very friendly and with great customer service.
Definitely have a person with such bad attitude, that can makes your guest feels bad and unwelcome is a detriment for your resort.

I’m not leaving either a good or a bad review. I’ll just keep it neutral. I guess we were expecting more things to do. There are activities but we had something bigger in mind. Bungee jumping was more of a trampoline. The petting zoo was a bit sad looking. The zip lining was just a small drop, better for small kids. We were bored so we just went back home (we live in Florida). We just had different expectations and we didn’t prepare ourselves for NOTHING else to be around. They have a general store there but no craft beer so we were looking for a grocery store but the closest one was a one hour drive away. Same for dinner. Nowhere to eat except the restaurant on site but it had kinda bad ratings. We were imaging more “luxury.” Like a fantastic steakhouse nearby or something. It was partly our fault because we just didn’t do our research beforehand. We should have explored dining options or brought a cooler of good beer and steaks to grill. Would have been better that way but even with that, it was like 95 degrees out and we were a bit hot, boded, and wishing we had more, so we went back home so we could at least enjoy our pool and great food and drinks the rest of the weekend. The staff all looked pretty unhappy to be working there. A bit miserable actually, but this was during the pandemic.

Loved the property and all of the amenities. The Adventure Park could have more activities for the smaller children. My 2 grandsons,( one 2 and one 4), could only do the bounce house. Also, may consider lowering the restrictions on the bull. My 8 year old grandson wasn't able to ride. He was about an inch and a half to short. He rides the ones at the fair all the time. Also, the amount of workers was not enough to cover the amount of people needing assistance. The General Store was by far the worst. Very slow and unorganized. Wait on your customers not needing food items just merchandise in a different line. I was made to wait in one line to purchase 4 items while all the food and drinks were being made for the people in front of me. I waited for approx 18 minutes just to have my items checked out. Would also figure out how to move customers through the concession line faster at the rodeo. I waited for about 20 min in line to get a few concession items. Maybe open up another window. Other than those few issues, everything else was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. At the end of the day it is all about customer service. The better the service and the nicer the employees the more people want to come back and continue to support the business. We hope to be back with the rest of the family in the near future.

I went with my sister in law, it was a nice getaway. Would be a really nice place to go with children. It is a little far away from everything else, there is only one real place to eat there. Room was comfortable and clean.

What a great and expensive resort!
For an additional fee you can do almost anything. There is a charge for everything from ice (unheard of in a hotel) to biking....and it all over priced!
We had a glamping tent as well as a lodge suite for those that didn’t want to rough it out. Glamping tents received s’mores kit at check in and hot Cinnabon’s and coffee delivered to their tents around 8 am. Nice touch!
The experience was a great way to disconnect especially since WiFi is $10 a day and there is no cell service on this dude ranch.
Charges include every activity besides for petting farm.
We paid for 3 Rodeo tickets only to find out they opened the door for free 10 minutes later (half an hour before it ends).
Cleanliness was the weakest in the lodges. Spiderwebs on lamps, food splatter on walls, dead insects stuck on to any area.
If your planning to stay in the lodge be aware that you can not go over to the glamping or tippi area unless your staying there.
Lucky for them most of this is over looked because of the super nice staff. From Solly to the people that run the general store everyone has the southern hospitality.

The beds are so noisy they keep you awake. I left my passport and some clothes behind and called to ask them to Fed Ex overnight to my next stop hotel in Miami Beach. They waited so long to send them I'll have left Miami by the time they get here and will have to get them forwarded again. Kind of a cool place but I'll never go back.

Resort provided amenities beyond what were available in the general area. Nice break from the 200 mph+ of fun in Sebring. In the heart of orange groves and natural conservation, great family retreat or couples getaway for a weekend.

This property looks starved for capital and management.
The room I had sported a newer TV and tile floor, but the rest of the décor was ancient. The TV, though newer, was fuzzy. The HVAC unit (a PTAC, like many hotels) was so noisy I had to turn it off to get to sleep. To add insult to injury, the property charges $10 a day for wifi. However, the signal is so intermittent that I could rarely keep a connection and the throughput was terrible. Since there is very little cell coverage (the property is in a very rural area), wifi is really the only way to communicate when there.
Room service was minimal, not even cleaning the sink each day.
I guess it's Florida, but there was a skink in my room, hiding in plain sight on the PTAC.
Overall, mostly a disappointment. If you are going there for the dude ranch experience, maybe it's OK, as others seemed to be enjoying the activities. But all I wanted was a quiet, clean place to sleep, with comms, and that wasn't really what I got.

The property was expansive and the room was clean, comfortable and roomy. It had a functional and equipped kitchen which we did use every morning. With the activities being à la carte, the cost of the stay increased very quickly. Big negative is the food. They only have one restaurant that is only open for dinner and it is very poor. I ordered a steak the first night and it was so horribly seasoned and drenched in garlic butter I couldn't eat it and sent it back. Barbecue chicken was like a baked on barbecue so we did not eat at the restaurant ever again. We drove 30 miles into town where there are some very good restaurants. As far as lunch is concerned, they only have a sandwich bar with one hot entrée available. Lastly, the property is very large so renting a golf cart is a very good idea and again, adds to the cost of your stay.

Off the beaten path.
We loved this place. It had something for everyone. We enjoyed the horseback riding, bike riding, rodeo, took the pontoon boat out and had the Kissimmee River to ourselves for 2 hours. Restaurant and service was excellent. Great for families and anyone who wants to get out of the Orlando crowds. We stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage which was large and very comfortable, clean and updated. We will go back.

Amazing Family vacations
This place is amazing, it is very child oriented, tons of family activities, never a dull moment, don't miss out on the Rodeo, if you miss out on the rodeo you will miss out on the full experience. The whole concept of the Ranch hotel is fantastic and it caters to everyone, luxury or those who want to save. the even have line dancing lessons at the Saloon. Make sure you get a golf cart ot get around or bikes. It's a big place.

Orange Groves
It was located in a very desolate area. You had to pay $10 a day for WIFI. Room smelled musty and had to call for shampoo and conditioner

Family Time
I was traveling for business, so I didn't get to appreciate many of the things on offer, but the resort is very much geared toward families, with many wonderful activities.

Quick and easy getaway
Booked Saturday-monday to get away from the hustle and bustle, easy drive from ft Lauderdale but a million miles away from work ;).
Saturday had a lot of kids. A LOT. Boy scout troop camping. But they went away Sunday and Monday, and the place was quiet. Enjoyed shooting trap, and had a pitfire all to myself.
Was disappointed the saloon was only open Saturday and Friday, as the next watering hole is 25 miles away in lake wales. Saturdays party was nice though, good live country band and dancing.
Went to the rodeo on Saturday to see what it's all about...I guess if you're into that-- but again, a lot of kids. And Im no "animal lover", but personally I don't see the honor or sport in a grown man kicking and slapping a baby calf to the point it is trying to jam it's head through the gate to escape, only to run around terrified from a mob of 100 kids trying to rip a ribbon of its tail. The horse riding tricks were impressive though.
All in all though, it was a couple of peaceful days surrounded by nature, and I enjoyed an excursion to Bok Tower gardens nearby.

Great Resort
Had a great time! clean rooms excellent customer service and helpful staff. spacious room and very clean. property in tip top shape .activities for everyone .young and old. would recomend 100 percent . cannot wait to come back

A real "dud ranch"
Staff was friendly and room clean. That's the high point. Was not worth half of the 250 a night. Restaurant open for dinner only, only food for breakfast or lunch sandwiches at general store, and 20 moles to nearest restaurant off the property. For that price, I would expect either great accommodationsite or a real rustic dude ranch experience. This was basically La Quinta +Dennys, with horseback riding (at 45 apiece)for 250 a night. Catch and release fishing for free if you could find a rod that wasn't broken. Only real complaint is what we got for the money. I would have complained when I checked out, but no one bothered to ask if we enjoyed our stay when we checked out. Won't be back

Nice environment.. for nature lovers
Beautiful surroundings.. loved the animals....
Staff was not helpful. Internet services are poor and very noisy at night. A lot of drinking by other guest nothing was done by hotel staff. Was not able to sleep for two nights...

The only complaint I can even say is that the pulled pork sandwich was not as good as I would have expected. Other than that, it the place is awesome. Our room was really nice, very clean and the beds were comfortable. Very importantly, the animals on the property seemed well cared for. We will go back.
