Juan (front desk) gets 5 stars ***** for being an excellent host throughout my stay, and generously accommodating my early arrival. I found the entire staff to be excellent and helpful. (Keep in mind that Miami Beach is like Latin America, so you need to ask for help if you want it.) Kudos to the staff for doing a great job! In other respects(this reflects management), the hotel deserves a solid 3 stars. A $40 per day "resort fee" with no pool or any resort facilities, only vouchers for beach chairs (worth $20 per day max) is a bunch of BS. The included breakfast (pretty simple) was a bonus, but unappetizing. The hotel actually has some pretty good food options, but they are on the menu, and not included in the room price. The best breakfasts I got were the yogurt and fruit, adding bacon and OJ (extras). And really, Cavalier management, disposable plastic cups in the rooms, instead of real water glasses? This is a rip off, not a real hotel!

We loved the vibe and location of this hotel. We were a group staying here for a convention at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Location couldn't be better, right on the beach (it's not often you get to dip your toes in the ocean before a full day at a trade show!). Staff was friendly and room was comfortable and clean. Bathroom did have very dim lighting (one of two bulbs were out as well). Wardrobe was spacious but I would have preferred a full length mirror in room rather than in the cramped wardrobe. Nights were a bit chilly and heater did not work in the room.
Breakfast was a basic selection of staples (eggs/bacon/toast, yogurt & fruit platter, etc.).
One night, a colleague had an issue with very loud guests next to his room and tried to call lobby, when no one answered he went down to find that no one was there (he waited 20 min for someone show up).
All considered we still had a great stay.

I had difficulty finding Cavalier Hotel South Beach. The hotel is located on a part of Ocean Drive that is blocked off to vehicle traffic. My Uber had to let me out on the closest corner to the hotel. The hotel name is not easily noticed when you are on the sidewalk, looking up at the buildings. The hotel's restaurant Ocean Bistro is clearly identifiable but from the outside it looks like a restaurant. It is more helpful to know that you are staying at the Ocean Bistro than the Cavalier Hotel.
The hotel itself was charming and had a lot of character. I would stay here again now that I know where it is located.

Good hotel, very loud room
My friend and I stayed in room 101. The loudest hotel experience we’ve ever had. The kitchen and lobby are directly next door. Banging dishes until 2am, could hear all guests in lobby plus the music playing. Was horrible. Room itself was clean. Location is right on the beach. Use parking garage off 13th. Nice complimentary breakfast.

Cute Property with Unusually Good Service
The Cavalier is a really lovely boutique hotel located right on Ocean Drive in the heart of everything. For those looking to experience classic South Beach, it's a great choice. The property itself is very nice--entirely modern with most of the customary amenities of a high-end hotel, save a pool (but who needs a pool when the beach and the ocean are literally right across the street). It's really the service that sets the hotel apart, however. We arrived early from a cruise on a very busy Sunday morning but they got us into a room right away. Our room also included a light but very tasty breakfast each morning, which I got the sense was standard, as well as complimentary chairs on the beach. Bottom line: nothing in South Beach is "cheap," exactly, but some things are worth the price, at least relatively speaking. The Cavalier is one of those things.

Stepping into the Cavalier South Beach felt like stepping back in time to Miami's glamorous Art Deco heyday. Its pastel facade and curved lines oozed vintage character, instantly transporting me to a bygone era of flappers and cocktails. But stepping inside revealed a delightful surprise - the interiors seamlessly blended the old with the new, offering chic, contemporary comfort that felt anything but stuffy.
Location, Location, Location: As if ripped straight from a postcard, the Cavalier sits smack dab on Ocean Drive, offering prime real estate for both beach bumming and people-watching. The iconic white sand stretched out right across the street, and the pulsing energy of South Beach was just a few steps away.
Art Deco Delight: My room was a feast for the eyes, with geometric patterns, pops of color, and polished chrome accents. Good place to stay
The room was comfortable and clean. There were plenty of bath products available in the room. Unfortunately, the hotel stairwell has a musty smell. Every morning you have a choice of five breakfast options which were all good. However, the public can dine there as well and gets a different menu. I felt like a second class customer when it came to breakfast service.

Everything was good to great and we’ll be happy to stay again. The only minor issue for room 303 is that the elevator next to it is very noisy. It’s an old elevator in an building - so be it. Just if you do have a room choice then go with another.

Very loud. Tv sound was inaudible. Tv had closed captioning on by default due to volume as high as possible but inaudible.

My visit to this property started poorly when there was no identifiable valet spot marked with the hotel logo. I had to park on the street a few blocks away and pay for parking just to get to the hotel lobby. There the staff informed me that I was supposed to park in the valet spot of the neighboring hotel/restaurant even if all spots were full/no attendant and bring the keys to the hotel. There were additional annoyances with the parking experience, but suffice it to say that If I am paying $45 for this it should be a convenient experience. Hotel itself was nice, good location. Floor in my room was so slippery from some cleaning product that I (M32) fell and hurt myself in the process. Breakfast was included in my price from the associated restaurant and was acceptable. Probably would not return to this establishment due to the plethora of other options in the area.

Great location for a cute little hotel.
Enjoyed our two night stay. Was in a great location on ocean street. Staff were friendly. Free breakfast was basic and could be improved. Hotel is older but is kept up and has a lot of charm. Ultimately I would stay here again.

We arrived during rain with strong wind. Can't find the hotel and finally we knew it that we need to park the car somewhere and then walk to the hotel under windy rain. After arriving with wet etc., we do not see any help from the hotel persons. The lift is also not in a good shape (old and might be dangerous). We planned to stay 3 nights but we cut it into 1 night only (check out before 11am) and the hotel gave one night penalty and one night refund.

Customer service is HORRIBLE
Check in was horrible. The entire street is blocked off and had to illegally park in another valet parking since theres was not available and the public parking was full.
Once i walked into the hotel, the concierge did not call the valet until I finished checking in as it took another 20min for them to arrive to the car when I was the only one waiting.
Rooms are definately deco but unlike the photos, it is very small and tight. The sliding door to the bathroom is noisy and not secure (flaps around when opening and closing). Even when the door is shut, there are cracks so yoyr roomie can see your buisness. Also, the room entrance door is very loose and although it locks, it does not shut all the way and no secuirty chain.
I dont mind the stay here but the check in was HORRIBLE. They need to inform guest about the blockage and be more professional. Customer service needs a lot of work for the price you pay.

A Real Gem
Fantastic hotel in the heart of South Beach, Miami! Everything was wonderful from the minute we entered to the time we left. Juan Carlos at the front desk was the perfect host for such a unique venue. He added that special charm that made our stay complete. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in while traveling. The restaurant was fabulous and the drinks at the bar were incredible. We will stay in no other hotel in South Beach!

Good location but noisy room
The room we were allocated was quite noisy as we were next door to the main bar/reception area. The rooms are not sound proofed as advertised. Our mattress was uncomfortable and creaked very loudly when moving. We didn’t sleep so well. Staff were friendly. No on site parking but a garage nearby. Location was good for restaurants, bars and the beach.

Fantastic stay at the most adorable Mid-century Modern style hotel. Staff was super friendly and attentive, coffee was always hot and food was great. Just literally steps from the beach and shopping. Can’t wait to go back!

Nice hotel, friendly staff, clean and spacious room. However breakfast waitstaff need to be more on the ball with coffee orders and shouldn't just shrug if there is no milk. Most important of all, DO NOT LET THEM PUT YOU IN THE ROOM ENDING 03 NEXT TO THE LIFT! It's a very old fashioned and noisy lift and the banging and crashing of the doors went on until at least 4am

Great location, needs major improvements.
You can hear everything. So in the morning when the cleaners begin cleaning you can hear them talking as if they are standing right next to your bed. Everytime a door closes they are so heavy so they slam and it's so loud. I actually called down to the front desk to ask them to ask the cleaners to stop chatting because you could hear everything!

Let it be known that “parking available” and “valet available” just means a public parking garage up the block and an independent valet company nearby. These are not amenities actually offered by the hotel as implied by the listing. Breakfast was acceptable but definitely not great. Room would never cool down, maybe 75 at the most. Hallways are very audible inside the rooms. Really the only great thing was location and the included beach chairs if you’re willing to walk a relatively short distance. If that’s what you need, I’d say go for it. Just don’t expect a whole lot beyond that.

Very nice hotel close to the beach, in my seven days stay, the only thing I didn't like about the hotel is that the cleaning staff, while doing their job, is very noisy when talking and there are guests like me who sleep in a little late and those conversations about their private life out loud and the echo that the hallways have makes rest impossible.

The double deluxe room I had was really small with no window view, because the window was frosted. So they upgraded us to a king bed suite that had an ocean view. Nice nostalgic art deco place. Right on the strip. Breakfast was really tasty outside on the sidewalk.

I really loved the atmosphere of the hotel - all gatsby style, the room was very clean, but noisy since 5am because of the dump truck coming right under the window. Breakfast is not very variable, but tasty, that was enough.

The small fridge in the room was very old and noisy. The worst part was the smell of the room, and the view from the room was of garbage cans. It was definitely outdated, and there seemed to be a lack of management. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The breakfast was cold and of very low quality. The only good thing about the hotel was its location.

The hotel is haunted, we both got haunteand by some crazy guys walking through our room, we had to move to next door room where my father stayed and put the mattress on the floor. The hotel personal are the best we got a new room next day but we still put the mattress on the floor because can't sleep in the noisy bed frame.

The hotel is NOT quiet on a weekend. This is an older art deco hotel and you hear everything in the hallways at night. my husband barely slept but I brought ear plugs so I wasn't bothered. Front desk is extremely helpful and personable. Drinks at bar were delicious. Breakfast was impossible as every single table was full so unfortunately we had to walk next door and pay for breakfast instead of eating for free. But all in all, for one night, to be on the oceanfront and get to stay in a cool hotel, I'm not mad about it. Both of us agreed we wouldn't stay there for an extended period though

The location is perfect. The room is clean & bed is comfortable. The valet was a little inconvenient because we had to drop the car off at the next hotel. But once we called for the car we waited 10-15 min. It’s better than trying to find parking on our own.

The hotel itself is beautiful. You can tell the staff doesn’t want to be there; they’re not very friendly. Housekeeping gave us dirty towels on day 2 of our visit. I was also disappointed by the front desk. They told us we could leave our luggage with them prior to checking in, but we came back hours later to our luggage sitting in the same spot! It was in the front lobby for anybody to grab and go. The only good part about staying here is that it’s right next to South Beach—but so are a lot of other hotels. I recommend picking one of those.

We had an OK stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and nice. The breakfast meals were great too. But other than that, it's not much else to like.
First of all, it's located inside the blocked road section, so you can't park your car in front of the hotel. We had to park one block away and carried our luggage to the hotel entrance. Very inconvenient in a super hot weather.
This hotel is very old building. The room is quite small as stated by other reviewers. Our sliding bathroom door was off-track and it couldn't complete hide the bathroom. You can look inside the bathroom from outside.

Staff was remarkable. Breakfast was great. Beautiful downstairs lounge. Rooms dust free. Spotlessly cleaned. Beach just out front door. Would be 1st choice upon return. Public parking close for $1/hr. Restaurants open till 1 am on weekdays. No traffic allowed on front street so nice place to walk or ride bikes.

Initially we were placed in a room that was extremely warm. The AC was not working and we had to spend 1 out of 5 nights there. We were moved to another room the following day, but we considered that a waste. The restaurant staff was inattentive and served cold food and even lost our order 2 out of 5 days. This is unacceptable for the type of hotel it’s supposed to be. We complained to the restaurant manager who did nothing. The restaurant supervisor should not work in the restaurant industry as his customer service skills are terrible. He is the one who lost our order and continued to serve subpar food.

Charming Deco Destination
Charming deco hotel in excellent, vibrant location. Rooms don't match the art deco exterior, but are very comfortable nonetheless with huge American beds. Friendly staff. (Although the morning restaurant service could be a little less chaotic, and the breakfast choices improved). Would happily return and recommend to others.

Toilet ran all night- wouldn't flush. Room was apparently not cleaned - there was someone elses trash in the closet trash bin., When I brought it to teir attention, they handed me a key to another room to use the facilities 2 doors down (SERIOUSLY!) when I told them I was checking out - they returned the resort fee - RESORT FEES - what resort, no pool or resort facilities - beach access is for the general public, the towels were threadbare (the ones I sawa going out)

The hotel looks unique and updated, bathrooms are all modern and stylish. I had a standard king room on the first floor (104) huge disappointment was the view from the window. Not only facing the very next building but also garbage containers. Room 104 was close to the reception and it was very noisy from around 7 am. Night-shift receptionists do not control loud clients late at night in the hallway.
Ocean Bistro's food is good, but the service is too slow.
Would I come back to this hotel? Unlikely. Unfortunately. As much as I like hotel decor and style, service and comfort not worth it.

This was an amazing location. Very nice to have access to beach chairs at Esteban’s Place. The hotel staff was friendly. We asked for early check-in and they were able to get us in a little early.
The temperature in the room was fine, I had read that it was cold, but we didn’t experience that. We also didn’t have issues with the “walls being thin” as others mentioned in reviews of this hotel.
The room was small, but perfect for a couple. Everything was very clean. We would stay here again.

A wonderful stay at South Beach
Phillip, who took care of us at the desk, was very helpful and considerate. I loved the room we had. It was different from the cookie cutter hotel room and was very comfortable. The hotel was right across the street from the beach which included a bike and walking trail. The breakfast was excellent. My only small quibble is that I think the server at breakfast forgot about us as it took forever to get our breakfast and when we got it, it was cold.

They were unable to provide volume for Fox News Channel. This was the only channel on the cable that did not have volume. I asked for this to be fixed each day of my stay The staff acted like they did not know what I was talking about and never performed any service I felt I was being mocked. This establishment seems to be socialist or communist far left leaning. If that’s your preference that’s fine but prefer free speech in America
