Bad Stay, Facing a wall, Loud AC noise
Beware this hotel faces a wall, and it’s extremely noisy wall with some sort of vents coming out that run all day and night. The balcony has no chairs and no room for chairs. It’s too small to sit out on. Embassy next door or Wyndham and Imperial across the street are far superior to the Hokulani.

The resort is family friendly. Room is spacious and comes fully equipped with kitchenette. The bathroom is much appreciated - big shower stall with strong water making it extremely to clean up the kids and swim suits after the beach. The hotel is new and well kept. Location is central to the nice shopping area. The only thing we would like to see improvement on is the soind proofing of the room. We could hear next door in our bathroom, and the siren on the street.

Hidden Gem But So Wonderful!
Our place was super clean, very quiet (except kids in pool but it was locals spring break so understandable) this is my second stay here and so great. Bartender on rooftop is awesome! We had a very relaxing time.

Great location. Room was a great size. The pool is terrible but not a big deal necessarily. My biggest issues were lack of an outdoor area to arrive upon check in and only 1 day of housekeeping for a 7 night stay. I shouldnt have to clean my own room considering the cost per night to stay.

The suites here are very nice. Lots of room and everything felt very up to date. Being able to chromecast/airplay to TVs was excellent as was the entertainment selections with out them. Coffee provided was also much nicer than I have been accustomed too.
The staff here is next level and goes above and beyond. This was probably the best hotel experience of my life.

We absolutely love this property. It's our second time here and cannot imagine staying at another location. The staff, the suite, the location, the amenities (laundry, pool, movies, gym), the proximity to various surf breaks (and board storage!) ... its a fantastic deal for the price. Can't wait to come back.

Four nights with family
The location was good and centric in Waikiki. There are a lot of restaurants and luxury shops. Walkable to the beach. The room was spacious and has kitchen area (even a rice cooker). We used the washer/dryer twice on our four days stay. Also having a wireless charger was very convenient. The pool area on the 16th floor was kid friendly. The room overall was clean. The bathroom even has two sinks! No complaints really except for one day street noice on a Friday night. Other nights were fine. Parking was valet and those guys were good and efficient. We would definitely stay here again.

Great Stay, Great Customer Service
We loved this place! Great location, clean, great service. We were greeted by at least one person every time we went in or out. The roof deck was closed for a couple days of our stay for some construction, and without asking they waved our resort fee for those days. This is how customer service is suppose to be. Heated toilet seat was a nice touch and it was probably the best Hotel shower I’ve ever been in. Free laundry came in handy as well. If I had to be picky, the toilet paper was a little thin. Other than that, there wasn’t anything out of place. 100% would stay here again.

The staff were fantastic!!! Especially Brian. They were very helpful and kind. Our room was exactly as advertised and the roof top patio is amazing! I wouldn’t stay here with small children as the pool isn’t that big, but our 17 year old loved it! Great drinks at the pool bar and the lady bartender (can’t remember her name) was awesome!
We didn’t love the Italian restaurant within the hotel but PFchangs and Starbucks across the street were great. Lots of shopping in the area and the Hard Rock Cafe was only one block away.
The beaches were super close and so many options. We purchased beach chairs and an umbrella at Walmart.
We will definitely be back and will stay here again!!!! Thank you ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very close to action area of Wakiki
Very close to the “action” area of Waikiki beach. PF Chang and Star Bucks across the street. Many eateries from not expensive to very expensive within walking distance. Night market on Wikiki beach is also steps away. Wonderful location.

NOT WORTH IT
Going to Hawaii during Covid is a hassle not only from having to register all your information for a QR code from the state but also when we got into the hotel, checking in was painfully slow and inefficient. Even after a long check-in, I got a call at 9:30pm from the front desk on the second night asking which room should my parking be billed to! Obviously unaware I am still on west coast time and had little kids in the room whom were already asleep!
Also for the amount of money they charge per night plus resort fees, you would think they clean your rooms or at least deliver bottles of water and coffee but they don’t. Room was only cleaned once. Ice machine was a bonus but stopped working on the 4th day.
Because we traveled with a big party, finding a place to sit down and eat was a challenge. We tried to eat on the rooftop deck but there were too many cockroaches running around. We ended up running back in our hotel rooms.
For this price, your stress level and your money is better spent elsewhere.

Loved it - Great for couples!!
This is NOT a hotel for families with children, which for me was great. If you have kids, the pool will NOT work for you. That said (I have no small children and it was GREAT), I loved the pool for standing in with drinks and the view is to DIE for. The Vegas style (but free) cabanas were great (had fridge, tv, sofa). Drinks from the roof top bar were top notch, but the roof top bar was only open 1-7 (really??) The room itself had all you need (fridge/freezer, pots, pans, utensils, plates, cups, bowls, knives, a toaster, a tea kettle) & had a real coffee maker (coffee grounds - which the hotel provided). There were paper towels, a sponge, dish soap, a dishwasher (with washing powder provided). The rooms were exactly how they look on line. Toilet bidet and heated seat were a great hit, as was the tv in the bathroom mirror.
The location was perfect - 1 block to the beach. Across the street is Starbucks. ABC store and Longs drugstore are 1/2 block away. All shopping was literally steps away.
Hotel staff were so nice. They have free washer & dryer (with provided soap). Hotel is small, but I liked it because it was not congested in the lobby or out front. It was quiet, safe and I would come back ANYTIME. 5 stars!!!

very convenient location, Waikiki beach, shopping and dining all walking distance, Don't need a rental car
Love having fully equipped kitchenette even had a rice cooker
Very modern and chic, I loved the bathtub with the water coming out of the ceiling and tv inside the mirror

At night street noise kept me up maybe because our room was facing the main street of Kalakaua but after 2am it was quiet

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hokulani. The room was spacious and comfortable. The mini kitchen was nice to have. We didn't cook, but we made use of the fridge, microwave, freezer, plates/bowls, and utensils. It was also nice to have access to free washing machines and dryers down the hall. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby. The the front desk staff and valet guys were friendly. The walk to the beach wasn't too bad. My only complaint is the noise coming from Kalakaua Ave. We were on the 12th floor but can still hear loud music from one of the restaurants and cars with loud music driving by. But overall, it's a great hotel.

I liked everything about the property EXCEPT the wall that was right in front of our balcony and the continual noice coming from the exhaust near the wall

Great place for the family
Great find! Our atay was awesome. From the time we checked in to the last pickup from the valet, the staff was friendly and awesome. The room was clean, spacious and perfectly equipped. Huge bathoom and nice separate living area. Our view was great with Pacific views straight ahead and to the right as well as the top of Diamond Head in the distance. Nice pool deck with movie nights and cabanas. We will be back here and wont hesitate to recommend to our family and friends.

We love the Hokulani Waikiki. We stayed at a one bedroom (2 bed) suite which was perfect for our family of 4 with 2 young adults, the couch in the living room is a bed convertible. The hotel is very clean and the location is perfect, even if it’s a few blocks from the beach. The staff is friendly and pleasant. The rooftop pool is only a plunge pool, so bear that in mind. The parking lot is very convenient and the attendants are great. And the laundry room in each floor is a major plus! We would stay here again if or when we come back to Honolulu.

Great location, tiny pool
Hotel is in a prime location around shops and restaurants in Waikiki. New, modern interior, nice staff, small kitchenette is a plus, but the pool was too tiny to be serviceable. Our check in was delayed and they upgraded us to a higher floor unit with a great view of the ocean.
Would recommend for a shorter business trip, but not for a family trip for a longer stay.

We loved the room, so clean, beautiful design, relaxing and refreshing. It had all the amenities that we needed. The rooftop pool and jacuzzi had a great view and the cabanas provided the perfect escape from the sun. The front desk was very friendly and helpful. There’s an Italian restaurant by the hotel lobby that had the best Italian food and the service was great. Overal our stay was perfect!

Superb family hotel!
Hokulani Waikiki is perhaps one of my favorite family hotels. We had a premier suite that was just under 600 square feet and the design is rather brilliant to maximize the space. Kitchen with microwave, two burners, refrigerator/freezer and all needed kitchen items; large bathroom with separate toilet, large tub and nice shower; separate bedroom with ample closet and drawer space; living room area with a table for two and fold out sofa. TVs in both bedroom and living room. I believe all of the rooms have a lanai. There are complimentary washers and dryers on each floor and the hotel provides laundry soap. Loved the design/layout of the room.
Susan checked us in and she was lovely and very thorough. Though we didn't use these facilities, there is a fitness gym and plunge pool on the top floor. My sister said the cabanas are very nice (first come, first serve and complimentary).
The location of this hotel is excellent - located at the Waikiki Beachwalk. The Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center starts just across the street. You can walk anywhere and everywhere in Waikiki from this location.

Ideal, COVID-safe stay in Waikiki
I felt safe and welcome @ Hokulani during my end-of-year 2020 stay. I stayed in Honolulu with my partner for 9 days as we searched for a house to rent (long-term) in Oahu. It was my first time traveling by plane since March 2020, and all of my anxieties were quieted by the kind and respectful hospitality of Hokulani staff.
This hotel is centrally located in Waikiki, and well equipped with fitness and pool facilities. The basement valet parking is $30/night but incredibly useful. And the rooms were spacious, impeccably cleaned, beautifully furnished with a wabi-sabi decor, and comfortable with views of the Pacific Ocean.
I highly recommend and look forward to the opportunity to stay here again. Thank you, Hilton and Hokulani team!

So much space - so so NICE !
Wow - just wow. Tucked in an upscale strip center right in the middle of Waikiki - this hidden gem was amazing from beginning to end. We were welcomed with staff that knew what they were doing and were so nice. The rooms are all suites - with kitchenettes and sitting rooms. The extra space made coming back to the room a real treat ! The rooms are perfectly appointed and very contemporary. SO CLEAN !!!! While we didn’t need it - there were washing machines / dryers on our floor. (Appeared to be no charge). The pool on the roof is small - but lovely. The location is a 3 minute walk to public beach - and within walking distance to every restaurant. We LOVED our time - and would highly recommend this over any hotel we’ve stayed at in years !

Great room for young family
This hotel was great for us. My wife and I travelling with our 1yo and 3yo. Having the kitchenette was great, as well as the separate bedroom for naps. Massive bathroom with shower and stand alone bath was great. Even the dining chair cushions were wipe clean (luckily!) : ) Small rooftop pool was also great for us - just 3ft deep. The whole rooftop area was lovely. All the staff were super friendly and helpful and the location couldn’t have been better - right in the heart of all the action and less than 10min walk to the beach. Will definitely be returning.
(On a side note we used Hawaii23 for our airport transportation and they were great and provided 2 car seats for the kids at no extra cost)

the hotel was nice. The room comfortable, the pool and pool area nice, the hotel staff was mostly nice. The downstairs bar/cafe was never open and we stayed for a whole week. There were plenty of close by shops and restaurants to get what we needed though. They could have told us earlier to take the elevator all the way to the bottom/street level floor instead of taking the elevator and escalator every time we came and went.

Although this hotel does not have Waikiki beach views from its balcony - there’s plenty to make up for it. The cleanliness is superb and the location is perfect for shopping in the hub of Waikiki. The staff were very friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed the warm spa and rooftop cabanas (equiped with fridge, safe and tv).

Wonderful hotel, close to everything.
We just returned from our recent 6 night stay at the Hokulani Waikiki with our family of four (2 adults, an 18 year old and a 10 year old).
Could not fault the hotel or the staff. We stayed in the 1 bed Premier Suite and there was more than enough room (we left the sofa permanently set up as a bed during our stay), comfortable beds, a small but well stocked kitchen and an amazing bathroom. Our boys were ok sharing a bed however this may be an issue for some).
We never swum in the rooftop pool as It was pretty small however as the hotel is located so close to all the Waikiki has to offer this was never an issue.
We would highly recommend this hotel, 5 stars from us.

Las Vegas Style living
The Hokulani was a great hotel from the perspective of the apartment size, affording us the ability to prepare meals when we wanted to. The bathroom facilities were extremely modern and attractive; again being double the size of many hotel rooms (including the top of the range hotels in Waikiki). The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating making our experience at the hotel one that we will want to repeat.

Nice hotel . Very spacious quiet . Laundry on every floor . Great location. Only downside was the pool. Water was knew high and yuck. Upside great beach a few steps away. Valet at the front where not helpful. Concierge not helpful, too lazy to book a transfer for me and asked for me to do it myself. Front desk staff very good.

Misleading - NO food services on sight !
Hotel is very nice, suites are well laid out and the staff is quick it react to any problem. However, we booked believeing the hotel had a restaurant that served breakfast and snacks by the pool which it advertises everywhere ! IT DOES NOT! There is a tiny cafe open 3 hours at lunch (5 days) that serves Japanese food only! Advertised salads and sandwiches which also is not available. There are many food options right outside the hotel however the hotel itself basically offers nothing. It most certainly does not offer breakfast! We were offered a $100. Credit and told the listing would be fixed. We felt mislead into booking at a property that didn't have everything we wanted.

The staff were lovely from cleaning to desk to porter. Only thing that wasn't great was the pool. Needed to be bigger. Will stay again.

Amazing hotel, staff were so friendly and helpful. Only wish we had a better floor we were right at the bottom so didn't have the best view - but roof top bar makes up for the awesome view.

The staff at this hotel are amazing, especially Cassel. It was the nicest and warmest welcome I have ever received at a hotel!
Beds are comfy, roof top pool is great. Pool deck has free cabanas to use, first come first serve. Cabana has tv, mini fridge, long couch. I'll definitely stay there again

Quiet Hotel Close to the Action
First let me say that I would absolutely stay at this hotel again. The main reason is because it is one of the few hotels in the area close to the beach that have no attached stores,restaurants, spas or attractions. Which is great because you won't have to deal with a crowded lobby after a long day of sight seeing. The staff was super nice & professional. The grounds were immaculate and very welcoming to the guests. There were several spaces to relax if you didn't feel like staying in your room. I stayed in a suite which according to the web description sleeps 6 ppl. It was just myself & my teenaged son and I felt like we were on top of each other. I couldn't imagine 6ppl staying there. There was a functional kitchenette and the beds were comfortable. The shower was a bit inconvenient because it was extremely small and the shower head either comes straight down on top of your head which is an issue if you're trying to maintain a hairstyle. You can switch it to use the handheld spray nozzle which has a holder so you don't have to hold it but im only 5'2 so it hits me in the face so I had to hold it at all times. Also there isn't a way to keep water from covering the floor which is dangerous. There should be a glass door on this type if shower not a curtain which is what is used. There was not a tub in the room as advertised. The lanai is super tiny & there is no privacy while sitting on it. You're looking right into the faces of the guests on either side of you & above you.
