What a miserable way to do business!
Had to cancel my trip at the last minute, understanding I would be charged for one night. Instead, the manager charged me for an entire week! Several phone calls and emails, still no refund as promised. I was looking forward to rescheduling my trip to Clewiston, but I won't stay here. What a rip-off.

Curtains are mouldy. Bathtub and showerhead is rusty. Bathroom doorway about 20 inches wide and cannot shut door when on toilet. Can hear people talking in other rooms.

Never again! Dont stay here!!!
I enjoy historic hotels. This is by far the worst place ive stayed. Lobby area has lots of character. Nothing else positive to mention. The entire place has an awful moldy, rank odor. The mattress is way past its lifespan. Old dirty pillows. The bathroom is totally unacceptable. Slow drainage in the sink. I didnt use the tub, because I refuse to set foot in it. Rusty or missing fixtures. Dingy, cheap towels. Just horrible!! I really want my money back. Disgusting!!!

Very surprise. Authentic 1920s hotel reminded me a bit of the Everglades rod and gun club with all the period correct art and the cypress paneling. A real charmer. You are in Clewiston which is major agribusinesses trucks are simply a reality of the city and yes they seem to be nonstop but the place is so quaint and ahem affordable that it is a small price to pay for an authentic bit of early 20century floridas

Less than desirable
Initially, I requested the Studio Apartment however up arrival the room was nothing like the website and smelled like wet dog, the room the moved me to was not much better. By the second day things got better they moved me to a beautiful suite. The also tried to double the price from what was quoted on the website, but they relented once I showed them that it said pay at property

Room was not clean, bed/pillows not comfortable. Shower curtain had mold on it, dirty wash cloth on shower head. Floors were dirty. Toilet made noise all night, phone in room did not work. Not a good experience and will not stay again.

Working in / around the area for Pike... I had an issue with the first room upon arrival but it was quickly resolved. Staff is nice and extremely helpful. Rooms are older but not bad.
The only complaint that I have is the other occupants fighting and shouting all hours of the evening.

PHOTOS DO NOT MATCH ROOMS- bait and switch
Do not stay here!!!! This is a bait and switch on photos. Most rooms are bare and sterile, and are only slightly bigger than a prison cell. The hotel manger is a self admitted liar and refused to give me a refund. The pillows were a dingy sweat stained yellow. There is a sink in the opposite side of the room as the bathroom and the toilet and shower are shoved in a tiny closet. If you have claustrophobia, this is not the place for you. This is a highly elevated crime area and the louvered doors don’t provide much peace of mind. There is no AC in the halls or front reception. The photos do not match the rooms at all! The staff is not friendly. They make their money on cancellation fees and charging you for rooms you don’t stay in. I’m all for historic charm, but this is not it!!! The Patels are crooks and this place is horrible. DO NOT STAY HERE!!

I am not one to do this usually and I don't know if I got unlucky with the room but my girlfriend and had a terrible stay at the Americas Best Value Inn Historic Clewiston Inn.
We got a room with black mold on the window sell, a broken crooked bed held on my a brick and 2/4s, the sheets had stains on them and the shower was disgusting.
Not to mention the view from our room onto generators and what looked like a bundle of wires and a no parking sign stuff in a random shopping cart...
I couldn't make this up.
Finally when I tried to explain that we'd love it if they could fined us another room for all of the reasons listed above. They offered us a room that wouldn't lock...
It was a real disappointment considering the propriety advertised and historic nature of the place.

NEVER STAY AT THIS MOTEL!!
NEVER STAY HERE! 1) Door stuck, had to get maint. to come chisel away part of the door frame to open/close door . Wood splinters and paint chips all over the place.
Not cleaned up until the next day. 2) No elevator, rooms on the 2nd floor. 3) Breakfast bar dirty. Spilled waffle batter and half-full coffee cups left for hours. 4) Water was only tepid, never hot, no matter how long the faucet ran before using. 5) Had to jiggle toilet handle to stop water running. On last day, the handle fell off!! 6) Ice machines did not work - had to get from office. 7) Got a splinter in my foot on last night walking into the closet. The room entrance and hallway had been vacuumed to get up the wood splinters, but the closet was not vacuumed. My bag was packed to leave early in the morning, and I made the mistake of walking into the closet barefoot. Not only did I get a splinter in my foot, the floor was sticky from not being cleaned in forever. The only good part of the room was the bed was clean and I didn't see any bugs. However, the A/C was rather loud.

The building is historic. President Hoover stayed there. It used to be a grand place and will be again one day. The room I stayed in had an updated floor. I appreciated the refrigerator, microwave and excellent TV and cable. Lots of channels. Large 4 poster bed very high. The bathroom needs to be updated. On the second floor I could park my car under the window.
Pets were allowed. Breakfast was available. Make your own waffles, cereal, juice, oatmeal, coffee, poptarts, muffins. I did miss hot water. Nearby are any store or restaurant you could want. Hope you do not need it but an Emergency Room is very close.

The rooms were lovely and large, old worldly. Staff were extremely helpful. I wouldn't recommend breakfast, nothing really available. And the only cleaning comment is a good vacuum needed.

at 8 am in the room next to mine, I was in 124 construction people started to demolish a floor, but around 7.30 they gathered in the corridor and talked very load.
When i confronted the owner , he said is ok , they were just doing they work, i asked for refund and he said no refunds are given in this Hotel. This happened today May 27 at 9.20 am

I stayed her for the Month of April and May while waiting to transition back to Jacksonville. The best thing about thishotel is the owner Mr. Patel. He treated me like family such a nice man. He truly cares about his customers. Great continental breakfast. Maid service is excellent very clean. Hotel is beautiful and a great price. This hotel is first class. I recommend this hotel and I definitely would stay here again if I am ever back in Clewiston. Jennifer Susan Secure

Great stay
I didn’t like the room but it was last minute so I was okay. I didn’t like the setup up with the sink being in the room. I’m use to the upgraded room a few doors down. They let me in early for an extra charge of $20

I came down to fish and this was a good price. I had seen this hotel in
passing only 3 years ago. It's an old
hotel and I didn't expect perfection
What I found was as follows: clean
bed, slept great, newly renovated
bathroom, very accomodating staff, old but clean fixtures, 3 lazy cats on the sidewalk, fresh paint, No bugs, perfect temperatures, functional TV, old but clean carpet, pleasant smell, updated/ safe doors, good lighting and new kitchen features. Would I stay
there again? Absolutely..

The price for this motel is absolutely outrageous. They charged almost $ 1,200 a week. I pay leas that that in Miami. And this was in a little boring town of Clewiston. I will do everything possible to make sur si do not need to return. Not sure what they think is so fancy to be charging those rates.

the ice machine didn't work, the reception person was rude, the bathtub had no plug, was old and dirty. Had to park 2 streets over as parking was used for preparation of an event. Will not stay here again!

Stay was fine.
Everything was fine. Check-in was friendly and efficient and I was pleased to get a first-floor room, as requested. Room was comfortable and basic. Shower worked fine. Most criticisms I have are minor: no place to put your soap while showering, no coffee in room nor available in very early morning in lobby, and odd parking situation, with spaces also occupied by people at the park across the street.

I called and paid for a king bed. I wanted to make sure they did not give my room away. When we got there, there were no king rooms available. They gave us a queen suite instead for the same price.
Room seemed clean. Bathroom had hair in the tub/shower combo, hair on the floor.
Dead roach in thr closet. Rooms were hot. The air-conditioning one was blowing warm air even though is was set to 60, bedroom would not stay cool. Bed was ok comfort, pillows were horrible. Took about 5 minutes before the water got hot in the shower.
The smell of Marijuana in the hall was overwhelming at times.
Outside was clean.
I would not stay there again.

Carpet in rooms were damp, shower did not drain well, toilet did not flush well, TV wasn't working and front desk said maintenance would check in morning, sad because it was 6pm meaning no TV all night. room doors slam and are very loud. Staff not helpful at all, advertised bar not open, uncomfortable beds, towels in bath were so thin and need replacing, I was here in late December with some issues but thought maybe another try, not again this stay was worse

Floor carpet was damp, our socks got damp & stained from dirt or whatever was on the floor.. TV, couldn't get it to come on to watch the news channel. Otherwise an interesting bldg. One thing we managed for our age, was the stairs.. Had breakfast else where, our choice..

It’s Quiet & going for walks feels safe, as I’m a single female & safety is highly important. Shopping & food options are minutes away. I didn’t like how there isn’t a mirror, closet, or an iron. Most of all there is no trash can in the bathroom.

Old Property With Issues
The property is old and has a lot of issues related to that age. The toilet began overflowing and I could not stop even by shutting the fill valve off even though the flapper was down. Water left the bathroom and soaked the carpet. There are no phones to the front desk in the room and no elevator to 2nd floor. Staff is nice but you may need to hunt them down at times!

Paid extra for a kitchenette through Orbitz. Did not get one. Room also had no hot water. I asked about the hot water situation, they said the handy man would be in the next day to fix it. I asked about the kitchenette situation, it was already booked to someone else, so there was no way i would get it. I checked out and left.

The hotel is very old. As soon as you enter the halls you can smell the mustyness. The porcelain sink and tub had corrosion. The TV's did not work. There was no hot water. No need to complain to the front desk because only one person on site. I heard other people complaining. Do not book at this hotel. It is a historic mess

No hot water. I guess that’s been going on for months now. Lots of people using drugs in the area. More stains in the room than you’d believe. Even if there was hot water I would not use that tub. So gross.

Old, musty smell in rooms and hall ways. No running hot water was available at the time of my stay. TV in the living area did not work. TV in the bedroom worked. The shower and tub had corrosion. The bed was comfortable. The receptionist that greeted me was very nice.

The hot water wasn’t working, but they had a sign at the front desk saying they knew and were trying to fix it. So I can’t be too mad about it. Also the pillows are pretty bad. I’d stay here again.

The hotel needs to repair some doors. For example, the room that was assigned, the door was hard to open. Also, a hallway door was hard to open. In addition, the cleaning was ok. In regards to the breakfast that there is advertised, is only a coffee. I would suggest to include some cookies at least. Finally, the prices have been increased. This is my 3rd. Time staying at the hotel.

When we arrived after driving for 10 hours, our double bed room that was booked in advance was not available. All they had was a single bed for my family. Did not have a manager that spoke english, nor did they even try to fix the issue. They give us a room with a king bed. I had to sleep in a chair which was filthy dirty. The bathroom was so nasty we could not even take a shower. Still had to pay full price. DO NOT STAY HERE.

The historic lobby of this hotel is still beautiful but the rest of the place is run down or closed. Getting hot water in the shower was even an issue. Would not stay here again.

Horrible Nasty Hotel ... STAY AWAY
I stayed at the hotel, Clewiston Inn, for 40 + nights in 2022.Yes, it is a historic place with very old furniture. Everything was acceptable until the NEW OWNERS took over 3 months ago. Now HOT water is no longer HOT, stains on sheets if even washed, smelly smoky rooms, obvious green mold in shower ceiling and tile walls due to lack of care/cleaning. I went out my way to ask for the same clean room and the Desk Girls honored my request. Owner Mr Patel and Son are rude but write in reviews over and over to give them a chance. But Who would return to this despicable urine smelling place.. I asked for another room and was accomodated. Obviously another Guest got this room for 12 plus hours. Now if you make a reservation on hotels.com for $72, like I did in advance for months in advance I am told the reservation has been cancelled due to overbooking. Wrong, The Owner himself is price gouging. He accepts $200 plus a night cash, no credit card accepted and pockets the cash not putting it ion the register. I have seen this personally and ex Employees will verify this. I will not pay $200 when my reservation says $72 so they made up a story I broke a toilet seat and they don't want me in their hotel anymore. Few locals patronize this place and truckers who drive by do.

I was moved to this hotel bc of issues (safety and cleanliness) at a Days Inn… this place was absolutely no better and probably worse! We didn’t dare complain bc we already had the issue at the previous place and feared the retaliation at this place as well.
1.) mold on shower head
2.) stained and unclean furniture
3.) NO FIRE ALARM!
4.) carpets dirty with dried juice or food (hard to tell what it was)
5.) constant parties outside with local/traveling Hispianics
6.) Beer cans and loud noise in courtyard
7.)overall unsafe and unclean .

The room was in very bad condition. For breakfast, they brought some bags of bread and bagels already opened and a package of Kraft cheddar cheese already opened as well. There was a party at night and the screams in the hallways didn't let us sleep. The experience was Horrible. I don’t recommend this hotel

Took 40 minutes to check in (I am not exaggerating). People partying all night in rooms, in hallways, and outside. People hanging out in the hallways 24/7. Room smelled like urine. Only reason we stayed was because there was nothing else available in town. I’d rather sleep in my car!

Booked weeks in advance for 8 days. Received a rude phone call as we were about to board for our flight. Angry, rude person saying "no rooms" over and over in response to every question I asked. Last thing said, "You have problem - you call booker!"
Called Travelocity. Got person with accent so heavy could barely communicate. After on hold, finally came back to say she spoke with hotel. No Rooms. Sorry. Can't help at all. Please visit site to choose another hotel.
Tried calling hotel again - they just let the phone ring for over 20 rings before I finally hung up to board the plane.
Insulting and no help at all. Worse, for the rest of our trip Travelocity kept sending e-mails asking me to review the hotel experience. Only choices were "satisfied" or "not satisfied." No response at all after.
Just arrived home yesterday. Received this link to a real survey and here I am. They STILL want to know how my hotel experience was at this hotel. No idea at all that we even had problems.
TIP: Read the small print on any/every booking site. They'll admit (in tiny, semi-hidden type) that they take ZERO responsibility. So why book through them?
