I had reserved two rooms. One was good- clean and ready for our arrival. The other smelled horribly of smoke. We tried 4 other rooms before finding one that had an acceptable amount of smoke smell. After moving our items in, the A/C did not work. We finally found a room that did not have a smell and had A/C in working order about 90 minutes after original check-in. If it is on a busy weekend in Lynchburg, be warned that you may have issues.

Starting with the positive: the sheets are great. The breakfast was substantial. The staff was nice. The negative: This poor property is literally falling apart. Our sink faucet was broken. The door frame to the bathroom was cracked, which made the latch loose and rattly. The TV stand was in pieces across the back ledge. The TV itself was a mess. The microwave didn’t work. The alarm clock was plugged into an outlet that turned on and off when you flipped a light switch (and, of course, had no backup battery in it). It reeked of smoke from old carpet. There weren’t enough outlets for all the appliances, lights, TV. And the cords and outlets were fully exposed, so if you have toddlers or babies, you’d have to rearrange some furniture to keep them safe.

Honestly the only thing positive about this location was the staff. The gentleman behind the counter was excellent
The bathroom was absolutely filthy and the remainder of the room was just okay.
The property is located in a very sketchy area and is extremely noisy.
Do yourself a favor and give this place a wide berth

The ONLY thing that I liked was how easy it was to get to Liberty University. Our room smelled like smoke.YUCK! The breakfast(ha ha) was out of waffle mix, coffee,juice and fruit. What a joke! Wi Fi didn't work. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

The staff were friendly, and the room was clean, but overall the property is in need of renovation. Although the room was clean, the curtains were off track, one chair was broken, the other chair was coming apart, our phone did not work, and there was no hair dryer. The area is extremely noisy, and the rooms are outside rooms at a motel in a high traffic area. The pictures of this property do not accurately represent it.

Think motel not hotel
This was a disappointment to us. Our first room given to us was nasty. We requested a different room, and it was better, but still not great. Both rooms had strange smells. Like a public bathroom, but the first had the added bonus of smoke. The ice machine in our building didn't work. The "full breakfast" that the website mentioned is more like a deluxe continental. We realized that we needed to adjust our expectations. So go into it thinking Motel 6 or Super 8 and you'll be fine.

The bed was comfortable and the shower had good water pressure, but there were tears in the curtains and wall paper, holes in the bathroom door, toilet seat had worn spots, dirty spots on the chair and wall, and messed up ceiling tiles. The breakfast hours start later on the weekends, so we never got to try it since we had to leave each morning by 7am. They say you get what you pay for, but in this case, I think I may have overpaid.

It was ideal in proximity to the locations we needed to get to. Cobwebs on ceiling. Phone on floor and could not be moved. Several furniture items were askew. Generally this room needed work.

Room walls were dirty, and needed paint. Bathtub had cigarette burns and chipped walls. Could hear traffic through door because it was not sealed.

The staff were very nice but had to tolerate a lot of irate customers, They never were ugly but always tried to help. One housekeeping staff was super helpful when we were having a hard time finding a room that did not smell like smoke or was very dirty. We waited for him to finish cleaning a room and then we moved in. The sheets were stained and hairy so we asked for clean sheets and he went and got them for us. I would suggest to owners to either upgrade their rooms and washing machines and dryers to not leave black spots on the floors and sheets. I believe because they have long term construction workers staying here this has left the rooms very dirty. If they want to house these workers they need to put other guests away from them in the other sections. If you have to use this section when big events come to town you should not charge $154 a night for dirty sheets, filthy floors and bathrooms that don't feel usable.

Check-in: 3 groups ahead of me, I waited in line 15-20 minutes.
Walked in room: I IMMEDIATELY wanted to turn around. Instead, I looked up other hotels in the area. Ran out of time and/or not in my budget, so I was stuck there.
Smell: I actually asked to smell someone else’s room to see if it was just mine or if it was the whole place. No smoking room? BS. If it wasn’t used for smoking, someone must have just left their ash trays. I turned fan on- no difference. Purchased air freshener- could not hide it for long. Some smells you just get used to- this one was not. Even when I woke up in the middle of the night, the smell was so overwhelming.
Trash behind the head board, refrigerator froze my drink, toilet ran intermittently and splashed seat when flushed, black line through tv screen, multiple visible stains on chair- I didn’t even lay my belongings on it.
There were enough towels in the room that I could line a path over the carpet from bathroom to bed.
I checked for bed bugs. Bed was comfortable. Just the smell…
Breakfast- waited in line long enough to check it out and say no thank you.
And it’s not a hotel- it’s a motel. I must have missed this in the description but even when I went back to check, I did not see this key detail that would have been a hard no to begin with.

Renovate this Baymont! Yuck.
Rooms need a major makeover! Microwave stacked on top of fridge, wires everywhere. Bathroom walls and ceiling have lots of water stains, peeling! Bathroom door didn't close all the way. The bottom of the cheap hollow core bathroom door was rotted away.
But the service was excellent! No hit on the staff.

Walk in the room and it stunk. No shower curtain to use in shower and the toilet kept running all night. The smoke alarm kept beeping most of the night. No sound on the tv so you couldn’t watch tv.

You get what you pay for.
It was not a good experience. I was not aware that there was no elevator and I have mobility issues. When I asked if there was a bottom floor room I was told no even though they did not look. Check in service was slow because employee was sitting outside smoking. Room was not very clean but the bed was good.

The sheets and towels were clean, but the room was falling apart. Light over mirror was hanging off the wall, chair had most of its “pleather” flaked off, bedside lamp didn’t work, and the bathroom was dirty. I would not have stayed more than one night.

Great Location!!
My stay at this hotel was an okay experience. I loved that it was located across the street from lots of fast food restaurants and shopping centers. Check-in was quick and friendly. The room itself was very clean and the beds were very comfortable!!! My only two complaints about the room was the phone(room) didn't work. And the wi-fi wouldn't work either. The phone wasn't a big deal but the Wi-Fi was. But I would definitely stay here again.

The front desk person talked on her cell phone during the entire checkin process. There was a loud noise that happened every 20-30 minutes all night in room 115. I did not sleep a wink all night. The phone was totally not operational and the volume did not work on the tv. I was very disappointed. I may as well had stayed at Motel 6, except I paid $155.00 for this room.

The property is dated and in need of some minor cosmetic repairs. There appears to be an aesthetic unpleasantness to the building. That being said, Roxy and the rest of the office staff are five star employees, and they treat you like royalty. The rooms, although dated, were clean. The pool was fabulous.

The room, although generally clean, would benefit from a deep cleaning (carpet/drapes shampooing). Under the beds were dirty and the room smelled like old cigarette smoke and baked in musty smell.

Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Room condition was bad. Mattress was very uncomfortable and sagging. Office chair with faux leather was completely threadbare and Had to place towel on it to sit down. Even TV stand was broken and difficult to watch TV. Was handicap room and only one left for the night so was stuck with it but left the next day. Facility needs new furniture and thoroughly cleaned.

The condition of the room was deplorable. I’m being super nice about it. Water on my bathroom floor, the whole place smells like an ashtray, the towels were dirty, I had to wear shoes on the carpet. Again, the worst I’ve ever seen.

Do not stay here
The photos on the website make this place look better than it is…. Dirty lobby area, no one to check me in for at least 10 minutes, not clean, musty odor, toilet was about to fall apart, shower had to be rinsed out by me because it had cleaner left in it… if it hadn’t been free on my hotels app
I would not have stayed… moved my son into college that day and was completely exhausted is the only reason we did!

First room we got AC was broke and smoked like old cigarette…. Then we were given another room that seemed to not be cleaned… We walk in to a empty bottle on the microwave, use bars of soap, hair Al over the floor, a used towel, dirty pillows, and what seemed to be blood on the blanket…. They didn’t have anymore available rooms left and gave us a a refund that was great but there weren’t any available rooms anywhere because like us family were there to move their children into college…..

Thin walls. It’s 11:50pm and I’m still unable to sleep because of the TV next door. Room is clean, but smells like old musty carpet. The furniture looks like my grandma’s. AC works well. Shower works well. I still don’t know where the breakfast is served.

RUN don’t walk to a different hotel
The staff was friendly but the rooms are awful. The first room they gave us smelled like smoke, second room had no electric, third room they gave us already had a guest registered to it, the fourth room smelled like mildew. We finally decide to leave and find a different hotel.

I would not recommend staying here. Booked solely on it being a Wyndyham property. Do not be fooled. The franchise name does nothing to elevate this place. It is awful. Broken drawers, broken chair, dirty floors, smoke stench, extreme road noise, and the list goes on. I think the staff mean well, but the franchise owner needs to invest in refurbishing the entire property. Put your money into staying at another hotel.

I stayed at this property during the Fourth of July weekend and was very disappointed at the cleanliness of the room. The room was very dusty and smelled of animals. I had to purchase cleaning and smell good products for the room. I will never stay at this property again… thanks goodness the stay wasn’t a long one.

We booked Baymont during graduation weekend for Liberty in Lynchburg Virginia. This was the last property available during graduation weekend at short notice, which included airbnbs. However, there was a leak in one room. The room smelled of cigarettes and mould. The bathrooms were not clean, the drapery was dirty. This was a 2 star hotel so I did not expect extravagant living arrangements, however, I did wish that it was clean. The breakfast was decent and the front desk clerk was nice. If this is your last resort, get some cleaning supplies, Lysol and a change of sheets. This will probably make your stay more tolerable.

Let’s start with what we liked. We were surprised to find the room had a new pillow top mattress that was very comfortable. It was equipped with a working microwave and frig. The tv was undersized for the room and the remote only partially worked. The cable service was out for about six hours on the one afternoon we had planned to go back to the room and chill out between graduation events. The toilet was extremely small and low to the ground, plus the seat was broken and wiggly. The bathroom just small in general. We were in one of the “newly updated” rooms. The bed headboard had been glued back together and the yellow wood glue was oozing and dripping from the headboard. The a/c thermostat had about a six degree buffer between turning off and coming back on. So if set for 70, it would not come back on until it was at least 76. So we put it on 63 to keep the temp around 70. The lack on the door did not work when leaving the room, but they sent the maintenance guy around quickly to fix it. They also had a decent free breakfast.

First room the door wouldn't lock and it took maintenance person to get another room. No first floor available, no elevator, steep stairs. Breakfast wasn't fresh, clearly reheated in crockpot day after day, stale cereal, unclean milk pitcher, no individual milks. Dirty rooms!!!! Very noisy!

The room had an odor and the chair in the room was nasty. There was a ? dirty towel hanging on the bathroom door that we didn't touch. The bed was clean and comfortable. For the price I paid, I was very disappointed.

Property was slightly run down, rooms was dark, air freshener in room smelled awful and overpowering. Phone did not work in room when we tried to contact office. The only good thing was that parking was optimal - right in front of room, and location was central to our needs. Staff was friendly. I was worried about bed bugs if I am honest. But did not see any.

The Worst
This was a great disappointment. The room smelled like cigarettes with overtones of an obnoxious air freshner. There was a hole in the bathroom foor. The wall paper was peeling. The TV didnt work. The chairs in the breakfast room were coming apart. Im sure there is more. I will not stay in a Wyndham hotel again

I cant decide what was worse...the dirty or the shabby. Windows and mirrors were filthy. Chair, ottoman, and carpet were in desperate need of a deep clean. Toiletries looked like they had been pulled out of the bottom of someone's purse. Towels were threading. Hot water only lasted 15 minutes. There were constantly people hanging out under the awning and smoking. The curtain wouldn't close all the way. The towels and bed linen looked clean but the day i checked out I noticed i was all itchy on my neck and face and had a rash...ugh!

Nice folks, but not so nice facilities
The people were nice, but the condition of the place was poor and the service. They don’t clean the room unless you ask. It didn’t look like anything was cleaned or picked up other than the bare minimum-(beds towels, toilet, sink, shower). There was tape on the curtains, the handles to open and close the curtains were broken and on the air conditioning unit, the ice bucket was dusty, the carpet didn’t look vacuumed. The area where the ice was located had a missing handle in the door, cigarette butts everywhere and our non smoking room definitely smelled of smoke.

our door had no door jam . you could see right through and the wind was blowing in . Vagrants in parking lot screaming . my son was too scared to stay there . very dissapointed this is acceptable for the hotel to rent out . i will never be back

For the price it was ok. Staff was nice. Room was very dated and plumbing was slow. Had to ask for a plunger which I kept until I left. Breakfast was great much better than expected. Unfortunately there were people hanging around in chairs at front desk that didn’t look like they were staying there just hanging out ? Maybe friends of staff not sure.

It was fine for a quick overnight. Shower rod was broken and thought it was going to fall on me. We were in an accessible room for some reason and the shower head was way too low for our tall family. My daughter and I had to squat to be able to wash our hair. Staff was fine-just not overly friendly. One of the beds sounded like it was going to break every time I moved. I did tell them about the shower rod when I checked out so they can fix it. The manager came out of his office while I was checking out and didn’t even acknowledge me. Disappointing.

Dummy Shower - Inoperable, no controls
The most disturbing thing about my visit was the fact that the shower did not have ANY control to take a shower. There is a shower head but it's a dummy in looks BUT CAN'T operate functionally. Very misleading or deceptive.

The room was dirty and as a family i felt unsafe staying there. People were hanging out of their rooms when we pulled up the room was dirty and smelled bad like urine. stay elsewhere for your safety and sanity.

I checked in and left my bags in the room. Several hours later, I returned with my daughter and her bags. We went out for dinner, and came back. Right before turning out the lights, I saw a roach crawl across the table between the beds. I told the clerk, and his response was, “Thanks for letting me know.” Damage was done. We had to go to a laundromat and wash and dry all of our clothes, empty and clean our bags, and check the car to make sure we hadn’t brought home any stragglers. Very inconvenient. We will never return here. I asked my wife to let our parents group know what happened to us.

Property was close to Liberty University and shopping mall/restaurants. Could use some updating - sheer curtains had big rip in them, shower curtain hanger was coming out of wall. Did not have remote for TV, but called front desk and brought one right up. The room was clean and that is my main concern.

Disappointing and dirty
Very outdated and dirty rooms. We had a non-smoking room which reeked of cigarette smoke. The bathroom was full of mildew and stains. The chair in the room had mystery stains on it. The only redeeming thing was the bed which was comfortable and clean. The front desk staff was friendly and nice. This was unlike any other baymont that i’ve been to. Cant believe i spent 130$ for this. Would have been better off at a motel.
