Comfortable but noisy
I was in 311. The room had a window that had something in front of it so there is no outside light that will come in thru the small window so the room stayed dark.
The room was comfortable. Despite the fact that it's on the 3rd floor, you can hear the music coming up from the basement level (it sounded like the music could have been coming from above even though it wasn't). If you are an early sleeper, this room isn't for you. The music would go on until about 3-4AM.
This hotel is also confusing because on the Collins Ave side, it's called The Gale and you have to walk through the restaurant to get to the check in desk. On the other end (James?) its called The Regent. Both entrances require you to walk up 3-4 steps to get to the check in area so you will need help if you have a lot or heavy luggage.
This hotel gives you 2 free bottled waters a day in the room.

Small room but conveniently located
Located in an excellent district offering walking distance to many tourist attractions, restaurants and shopping.
The room was tight with very little storage. I had to leave most of my clothing in packing cubes sitting on the window ledge.

This place is amazing! Front desk agents are beautiful people. Be sure to get your comp champagne.cookies, and beach chairs and umbrellas. This location is prime location and doesn’t get any better. Hotel was clean. Food was good downstairs and by the pool you order drinks through a phone. Pool was beautiful. I’ll be returning!!

Looks like brand new, very cozy, classy and john wick feel 😎 featuring old pictures telling stories of the building plus a charlie Chappell twist. Love the fragrances used in public areas, created a very hip and chic style.

Beautiful hotel for a short stay before heading to cruise. The pool is wonderful, the rooms are nice size, the lobby area is beautiful decorated, cozy in some places. The staff is helpful and courteous. Would love to visit for a bit longer n ext time around.

Parking was difficult and the valet was not helpful. We ended up parking in a nearby lot because he seemed very unapproachable. You usually expect more helpful staff at hotels in this price range. The hotel itself was well appointed and very cute but the room was extremely small, especially for my husband who is 6’6”. I loved the location because we were in walking distance from restaurants etc. Overall, my stay was okay but I was not wowed.

We stayed in a signature room with 2 queen beds
Pros: great shower - separate toilet area - sizeable fridge to store drinks. quiet (we couldn’t hear the club). Dolce restaurant convenient for breakfast .& coffee. Complimentary water bottles & 5pm wine Beach lounge chairs & towels at sister hotel. Staff was helpful & attentive.
Cons: room had no closet space & very limited drawer space to empty suitcases
Would stay again.

The hotel is very nice and clean and it's in good location, close to everything. The stuff deserves 5 stars for sure, very welcoming and accommodating. Italian restaurant was excellent. The only thing we didn't like was that our window was covered completely with this fake bush like cover. It felt like we didn't have window at all. Other than that room was clean, bad was comfortable and roof top pool was amazing. They do charge parking fee $45 a day and resort fee $40 a day on top of what you pay for room, but we were aware of it when we booked it so that wasn't an issue. Overall very good hotel.

This would have been 5 stars were it not for one major element, being the check in experience (and resulting room location). Upon check in, I specifically asked the concierge if my room was near an elevator because I am a very light sleeper. She said no, but then that evening, my 2nd Floor room echoed with every single solitary note of the loud dance music playing downstairs (not sure if restaurant or club), and it was also a room facing Collins which obviously added to the noise. It would have been a reasonable deduction for her to make that if I was worried about elevator noise, then certainly the music would be an issue and could have placed me even just one floor higher and/or not facing the main drag. Also, I had to ask about beach access and the beach club partnership as opposed to that major amenity being proactively explained to me up front.
Otherwise the rooftop pool was a fabulous place to relax and liked the ability to order food/drink from downstairs, and the room while very small was modern and clean. However the attention to guest room preferences and amenity explanation was lacking.

Great property in walking distance to many restaurants, shops and the beach and boardwalk. Good on-site restaurant. Nice roof top pool and sun terrace.

The rooms were quite small but the real problem is there was no closet! There was a small dedicated space of about 20 inches above the mini bar and safe with some hangers and a rod but not one piece of clothing could be hung in that space. It is as if they renovated the room and forgot to put in a closet or a space to hang clothes properly.

We stayed here for two nights in room 305 and it was obvious that it is in need of some repair. The location of the hotel is great and the lobby and bar are very nice looking. But once you're in the room it was fairly obvious. Here are some examples of issues with the room. No hooks for towels , except for one towel bar in the toilet room. The shower knob in the shower was loose and un caulked. The blue carpet was ripped and coming up along the edges of the room and looked very gross. The hallways are fairly loud with the pictures and hardwood floors. The clock radio is extremely bright and had to be placed face down on a towel to make the room dark. I wanted to like this property baed on the photos but I don't think I will be coming back until the next remodel.

I was attending a conference at the Miami Beach Convention Center for 7 days and this hotel was located a walking distance from it.
The front desk staff were welcoming and polite. We stayed on second floor with 2 Queen's beds. It is a bit small for two people but I was completely happy with the room. It was also very quiet. The mattress was comfortable and I slept really well! The Italian restaurant in the lobby (Dolce) has superb Italian food! I highly recommend their seafood pasta dish!
The housekeeping was very inconsistent. I was only happy with it for the first two days, the rest were not good. Coffee cups were not refilled and for many days, the housekeeping was not done and I had to go ask the front desk staff for the service. Even after asking, it wasn't done till 5pm.

Miami is hot and having water while touring is a must. roof top pool is lovely as well. it wasnt crowded both times we went up there.

Pros: The location is convenient if you want to explore Ocean Drive and that part of South Beach. They do have a very nice restaurant which we did not dine at but the staff is very friendly. The lobby was also nice, the management was very friendly and welcoming. The rooftop pool is a very nice ammenity and we did take advantage of it after being out and about all day.
Cons: There is no unloading space for guests and entrance is through the hotel restaurant which is very awkward. The only parking they offer is valet off-site parking which is $44 per night- quite steep. There is a parking garage about 7 min walking distance, west down 17th street which is $20 per 24 hours. The rooms are much smaller than anticipated and look very different from pictures on wesbite. The cooler in our room was not working properly, we put a maintenance request in but it was never followed up on. We were also put right by the elevator, the flooring at the hotel causes for noises to travel so we were woken up quite freqently by guests who were checking out early morning. Management is very friendly but one of the managers I spoke to cared too much about socializing and not enough about making sure our stay was going as expected.
With the many choices of hotels in the area, I think I would give another hotel a chance and not re-book at Gale South Beach. I would rate my overall stay 4.5/10

Housekeeping needs to do better. Toilet back area was still dusty upon arrival. My terrace was dirty I told the front desk I wanted housekeeping to come wipe the chairs down it was filled of bird poop all over. No one bother to come clean my terrace. The pillows on the the chairs and on the pool chairs was also filled of bird poop.

Wonderful stay overall
I really enjoyed my stay here. This was for a mother and daughter trip so the space was ok for just us two. The only downfall was our room had no view. Our window was blocked by a large board with greenery so the room only had hotel lighting for which I didn’t like very much for what I paid. Private beach is just one block over at sister hotel. Chairs and towels are complimentary but umbrella $22 for the day which isn’t terrible imo.
The hotel smells fresh 24/7. All of the staff was friendly and text is available to request service or items. Early check in and late check out with no additional charge was provided after some flight delays which was a nice plus. Pool was beautiful although no one actively up there serving or taking orders the restaurant did come up and drop off our drinks and food.
I would stay here again despite minor items listed :)

This was my 2nd time staying at The Gale Hotel. I celebrated my wedding anniversary here both times the hotel is small quaint and personal. And ALWAYS SMELLS SO GOOD. The staff is always welcoming and helpful and i was able to get a complimentary bottle of chamoagne AND a room.upgrade for my stay. Nice rooftop pool liounge area 1restaurant and bar and they also have a club. They provide bikes to ride and becuz they are NOT located ON the beach but 1 block away your beach access and amenities is provided by their sister hotel the Shelbourne..where you get FREE beach towels and beach lounge chairs. everything worked out well eventhough we switched rooms due to a leak from the ceiling caused by A/C then in the new room which waa upgraded to a room with a balcony our faucet knob came loose engineering responded quickly with BOTH issues..I LUVED the fact that they even texted me to asked if I wanted to have my room serviced since I was not there and I forgot to take off my do not disturb signal which is a light switch that shows as a red button from outside.. I will definitely stay here again.

Lovely contemporary hotel in ideal location.
Lovely hotel in perfect South Beach location. I arrived early so was offered use of the pool whilst I waited for my room to be ready. Beautiful rooftop pool with plenty of comfortable loungers.
Room was small and a little tight once the suitcases were in, however was perfect for sleeping. After all, it’s Miami, you should be out exploring lol.
Staff were friendly and accommodating. Would recommend the Gale and would return.

Nice place right by the beach and all the action, very clean modern rooms and very friendly staff, only downside is they don’t have a pool but other than that an awesome place to stay. You will have to valet your car or find off street parking somewhere.

I enjoyed the location. It was in walking distance of everything. However the shower temperature was not able to be regulated it was freezing or scalding.the room was so small we only had enough room to carefully walk around the beds. I felt for the price I paid I should of been able to take a comfortable shower. I wasn't thrilled about having to pay for parking either.

SAFETY is a major problem here; even in the Handicap/Accessible rooms. Property is old and bathroom has slippery marble floors (even with using a towel, I slipped & fell walking out of shower damaging my eye on door stopper, hand & arm), the dresser drawer malfunctioned by coming off the hinges, dropping on my foot and cut my toe.
These hazards caused me bodily injury (paramedics called twice) while the hotel mgr/staff showed little concern. My entire trip was ruined bc of these injuries caused by this unsafe property.
Overall, they need to improve customer support and their safety protocols as 911 was not called to evaluate my injury and I was left alone passed out from a head injury after the slip n fall. As a professional who has traveled for many years, this place does not represent the Hilton brand.

We specifically asked via email for a “double room”, and they gave us a room with one double bed (despite their agreement that in hotel parlance a double room means a room with two beds).

Very welcoming and accommodating staff. The room was small and perfect. Anything more would have been unnecessary. The location cant be beat. Beach and local restaurants are all within close proximity. Definitely will stay with Gale again in the future when visiting South Beach.

Hotels.com messed up our reservation. Thanks to great staff of Gale South Beach especially Victoria and Kambell, our reservation didn’t go through and they were fully booked that night. They worked so hard to resolve my situation. Victoria went to other hotel ( Shellbourne) in person to accommodate us for that night and we went back to Gale hotel the next day. Our schedule was messed up but it is fine because it could have been worse if not for the great work of Victoria and Kambell. Thanks again

I had reserved a queen bed room and when I checked in was told they only had full size bed rooms and their attitude was that it wasn’t their problem, I should take it up with hotels.com. Not acceptable whatsoever.

As I checked in at 5 pm and checked out at 9 am the next day, I thought asking me to pay a resort fee (ie beach access) was not fair as I was not there when it could have been used. I asked it to be waived and they denied it.

There was no hot water in the bathroom the night we checked in. I had a 11 month old baby needed warm water to fill her bottles i asked the reception for an electric kettle they said they didnt have one . Since the tap had no hot water i had to run around the hotel at 2 in the morning in search of warm water while my baby cried. I did not expect this from a hotel of this calibre.

The location is great, the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable; the rooftop pool is lovely, and the restaurant on-site offers some yummy dishes; the bartender at the hotel's bar is indeed talented and made me some awesomely well-executed mojitos😛Fernando at the front desk is beyond friendly and patient and helpful( and I'm sorry I didn't get to see him before leaving to offer a gift and a hug), and actually everyone working there is very nice; the Andrea ents at the restaurant are as well so friendly and cool, and Carolina, the DJ, is fabulous🤗
Only be aware that you have to request room cleaning and extra toiletries personally, otherwise they're bringing refreshments and cleaning the room only the third day of the stay.

The working staff was nice people from the front desk to valet parking. A bit pricey for the tidy rooms. Great for singles and couples, probably not for families because the room and shower were small and congested. Parking is $42 per day and another $40 odd for resort fees (not expected).

This one one of the worst Hilton’s I’ve ever stayed at. My main issues were
1. I checked into my hotel around noon and checkin was around 4. We expected to wait a bit because we checked in early. We walked around south beach and at 4pm we went back to the hotel expecting our room to be ready. The front desk person said it would be max 20 mins and they were running a bit late but it turned out to be an extra 2 hours. Fernando at the front desk kept telling us “5 more mins , 5 more mins for two hours” and spent the entire time talking to other guests ignoring us. People who checked in after us got their room first even though we were waiting for 2 hours. Why am I paying for a full night if I don’t have my room for 2 hours after the checkin time?
2. The second issue I had was housekeeping. The hotel didn’t clean your room for the first two days of the stay which was fine. However we scheduled at the front desk for cleaning on day 3. The housekeeping never came even though we scheduled it. I had to ask the front desk 3 times for housekeeping to come and they still didn’t come. We had to clean our own room and take out our own trash before housekeeping finally came. Who would expect to clean their own room and take out their own trash when staying at a 4 star property? I shouldn’t have to ask the front desk 3 times to get housekeeping and I also shouldn’t have to clean my own room if I’m paying a lot.
I expect at least a partial refund for my stay
