You get what you pay for
The room was cheaper and bigger than some of the other hotels in the area. The kitchen was stocked and clean and the there was a variety of places to sit. The currents were old and had holes throughout and were NOT blackout curtains. The balcony was amazing, with gorgeous views of the city, mountains and ocean.
The "hot" tub was more like a Luke warm bath. They ran out of gate cards for the garage so we had to keep getting out to go to the front desk and have them open it which was annoying. The tile flooring was filthy and our feet were black from walking barefoot on it after only 1 night.

Stayed for just under a month over Christmas and New Year. Apartment was a good size, and perfectly functional. In unit decor was a little dated, but did not affect the quality of our stay. Communal areas have been recently updated. House keeping attended every 3 days, more often if requested. Air con unit was noisy, but being 20 floors up we could leave the doors open if needed, so no real problem. There was a bit of noise from the street, but this is to be expected when in a city. Building is two blocks away from Waikiki beach. Couldn't ask for a more convenient location for dining, beach and shopping. We enjoyed our stay and cannot fault the hospitality provided at the Pacific Monarch.

We loved our stay at Pacific Monarch. While the room was a bit dated, it was very clean, loved having the kitchen, conveniently located near the beach, shopping and restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that our AC unit died, we did notify staff, but when they sent maintenance to inspect, it seems they only verified the compressor was running-but the fan was not moving, so no cold air was coming out of the unit. Beautiful breezes kept the room cooler, so we didn't bother notifying a second time.

Great location @ fair price!
Location location location (truly just 2 blocks from Waikiki beach) with great local food and the best and cheapest surfboards to rent, on that walk. All at a fair price. Get a room as high up as you can for great views and less noise (construction near the west side of the building). Not an elegant room, but it worked. Daily maid service was a huge plus with the beach sand following you back ;). Service all super polite and helpful. I’d stay again!

I didn't love that my room was a low floor and I'll stay in a higher floor room next stay. I will definitely stay at this gotel again. The roof top pool is amazing!

a spacious room with a very small bathroom
It is very good for a family of four, Centrally located , convenient to every important land marks.
Need to be improved :
I did not find power outlets near to bed for evening phone charging. I hope the bed not so soft. This is a spacious room, but with a very small bathroom.

About 2 blocks from the beach, the cleanliness is not that great, had someone t shirt left at the head of the bed, outside chairs and table had layers of black dust. However, the staff was very friendly, let us do 1 hr late check out, that was nice.

this hotel is at a great location! 2 blocks from the beach and close to a lot of restaurants. The room is clean. the room had a kitchen, dining table and necessary cooking utensils. the roof top has a pool and great view! the lobby has musubi.. so convenient! I will definitely stay here again

Hotel is close to the beach and local stores so continent for getting drinks and getting to and from the beach.
The rooftop pool is nice for watching sunsets. We used the hot tub which was really nice. Also had bbq and seating area on the rooftop which was nice. The area is looking a little dated though.
Rooms were a decent size and the small kitchenette was nice to keep drinks cool in the fridge. Room was clean although a little dated.
Staff were really friendly and helpful. They deserve five stars for the hard work they do.
A few cons with this hotel, the noise from the road is loud and would wake me up during the night. The ac unit was a little noisy and would also wake me up.
It’s a good affordable hotel for those in a budget.

This is a good hotel for family who wanted to cook their own food. They have the basic utensils needed to prepare and cook your food.

The garage gate was added. Great Idea. Need to change from stainless steel firing pan to a non stick firing pan. If you had to change furniture, make it more rounded corners. Had to be careful not to injure knees and need to replace sofa and pillows.

The hotel is nice, very clean, staff was very friendly and helpful.
Room was spacious and clean, and had a nice view.
However, the bed was awful, the mattress needs to be updated immediately. I’m 6 months pregnant and couldn’t get a single good night sleep. Also, the AC was not dimensioned for the size of the room, and if it weren’t for a powerful fan they had in there, we’d had been in trouble.

Perfect location. Excellent customer service at front desk room was given at 10 AM even checked in listed at 3 PM. The worst room service not done by 3 PM, tables and countertops, not even wiped of dust, ants in kitchen and bathroom Very clean towels and bedding. Furniture is very old including sofa.

We tried to evacuate out of Lahaina Maui and my family wasn't able to get on the flights we were told were available. We did not make it to the hotel to check in and didn't cancel the reservation that was made that day because we were stranded at the airport! The hotel charged us anyway and when I called the manager he was extremely rude and didn't care what we were going through and just stood by "You should have canceled your reservation". He could care less about what happened to our family, with no remorse. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Had a bad 2 nights at this hotel. There are slated windows in every room (apparently) that just let all the noise of Waikiki right into your bedroom. Made it hard to sleep. Also the mattress was completely caved in and caused my husband and I to roll into each other. Management offered no help or solutions.

The location is really great in relation to Waikiki Beach. Staff super friendly. Now for the downside….the bed is uncomfortable, the pool is cloudy, towels are hard as rocks, parking garage is small, and the AC isn’t that great. Loved having the studio concept room since we stayed for a week, but the darn AC wasn’t the best so made for hot nights.

This hotel was decent, and close to everything we wanted to see. Hard to argue with a 2-3 block walk to Waikiki Beach. However, we had air conditioning problems from day one and the room was warm throughout our week-long stay. We asked about it with the front desk and someone did come look at it. Unfortunately we were told that nothing could be done about the AC unit and we were given a couple of fans to help out. The fans helped a little, but the room was never comfortable and sleep was difficult. I found out during an elevator ride that I wasn't the only guest having that problem either, so the issue seems systemic rather than unique.
If that's the best you can do for what I was paying, then it doesn't seem like a place I'd want to go back to. There are bound to be comparable properties in the area with more comfortable rooms. That's a shame since the other aspects of the hotel were acceptable and the staff was otherwise friendly and helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay in your hotel..its modern, nice furniture, bed, kitchen, etc etc....very close to the beach etc places to see..the staff was great to hold our luggage while waiting for the room to be clean so we can go around and also keep our luggage after check out before we go to the airport..really appreciate that so much!!this place is higly recommended..we cant wait to come and stay again and vacation in hawaii!!!keep up the excellent job!!

Perfect location in the heart of Waikiki. Two minute or less walk to the beach. Clean hotel with a friendly and attentive staff. Spacious rooms with everything you need. Has a kitchen with all the basic necessities for making meals. There are grills to cookout and seating available on the roof top near the pool. Towels and beach chairs available with the resort fee.

Hotel and Amenities are great. Staff is excellent. Pool and hut tub on top floor is great place for sunset. Sauna over looking Diamond head is some thing you must experience, hard to find but follow sign on roof top floor.
One A/C unit for two rooms is hard to regulate temperature in second room.

The room was really comfortable. They have everything we needed. Little kitchen, the fridge works well. Sofa for lounging. View from the balcony was great. Simple things we love is the lemon water at the lobby. We got to use the washer and dryer on the 3rd floor. Don’t forget about the staff. Everyone is great. We’re coming back! Mahalo!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hidden gem of a hotel, and while it may be a bit outdated, the breathtaking views and exceptional staff made it a memorable experience overall.
Let's start with the positives. The standout feature of this hotel is undoubtedly the incredible views you can enjoy from both the balcony and the rooftop pool. Whether it's sunrise or sunset, the panoramic vistas of the surrounding area are simply mesmerizing. It's the perfect spot to unwind and soak in the beauty of the surroundings.
One of the main reasons our stay was so enjoyable was the staff. Keiko and the gentleman with glasses, whose names I unfortunately cannot recall, were exceptional hosts. They greeted us warmly upon arrival and even surprised us with rum party shots, setting a lively and welcoming tone from the very beginning. Their attentiveness and willingness to assist with any inquiries or concerns truly made a difference during our stay.
Now, it's worth mentioning that the hotel itself is a bit outdated. The interior decor and furnishings could use some modernization and refurbishment. However, if you can overlook the outdated aspects, you'll find that the rooms are still comfortable and clean, providing a decent level of comfort during your stay.
One area that could use improvement is the amenities. While the rooftop pool offers stunning views, it could benefit from some renovations to enhance its overall appeal.

This was our 15 annual Hawaii trip, but the first stay at Pacific Monarch. This place is amazing! The staff is easily the friendliest we’ve ever have! It’s safe to say we found our hotel for future visits and can’t wait to get back here!

A king size bed ocean view suite was spacious, nice view, convenient location, but a huge cockroach was found in the kitchen twice and small ones shown a couple of times during my stay. After pest control sprayed they’re gone though.
Other than that this hotel is very good value for money!

This hotel is ideally located to the beach and shopping. The staff was very responsive and friendly. The only downside was the air conditioning which had a hard time keeping up and there was none in the bedroom. So, had to keep it cooler so some got to the bedroom. There was a tower fan and an overhead fan which allowed the room to be pretty comfortable. They could also spring for some salt and pepper in the kitchen and a pan to use in the oven. Other than that the place fit our needs perfectly. Great location!

Good property for the price, location. Has a pool and hot tub. Self parking is on premise which is nice but note, it is not part of the hotel and costs 30$ which is actually a good price and you can get to your floor from the garage. Overall very satisfied!

The location of Pacific Monarch is incredibly convenient to shops, food, surfboard rentals and the surf. Having parking onsite at $30/night is a bargain and the use of the hospitality suite post checkout was a huge bonus. We stayed in 1 bedroom, hotel unit (not a condo) with an incredible view and a large lanai which was another bonus. Our room was clean but dated and a tad tired in condition (e.g. towels racks broken, stuck toilet handle). We had our room cleaned once during our stay. We really just needed the rooms vacuumed of the sand and towels swapped out but the cleaning was superficial and the sand remained. We would stay again at Pacific Monarch but maybe seek out a renovated condo in the building instead.

This was my first stay here but it will definitely will not be my last. I found the room to be very spacious and clean and it was easy for me to use this as an office away from the office. The only inconvenience is that you have to check-in before having access into the parking garage. There are a few stalls to park adjacent to the hotel, however if you're there at a bad time, then you will have to find a place to park and check-in before gaining acccess into the garage. There are convenient stores in the close vicinity and there is a great poke shop just across the street.

Stay away… bedbug/cockroach problem. Stayed one night and woke with my back covered in roach bites. When I brought up the issue with the hotel their response was “sorry, but that was a non refundable booking”. Not exactly what I want to hear after spending $250 for a night in a hotel I presumed was clean and sanitary. Not worth saving a few bucks here. Other travelers mention the problem with mold in the rooms and AC units as well. It’s an old property that isn’t well maintained. Staff were decent, but not the friendliest. Highly recommend spending your money elsewhere where you’ll be treated like they want to earn your business next time

Good value and only 5 mins easy walk to waikiki. Complimentary shower and lounge after checkout while waiting for transport to airport. Excellent service.
AC a little noisy but knew that. Blackout curtains great. A little city traffic noise, but to be expected. Would come again!

It’s very clean and quit. Lots of space in the rooms . Loved the pool and hot tub worked out great for my morning exercise. The only thing parking should be at a set about for the time of stay spent to much for parking . Where I work it’s a set price for the length of the stay .

Bad: Resort Fee.
Good: Great location. Great view (penthouse floor, facing Diamond Head). Bathroom included bar soap and individual bottles of shampoo. Need was comfortable Lovely aquarium in the elevator lobby. Parking was satisfactory. Room furniture was a little worn but worth the price.
Only complaint: $25 amenity fee. Please, just include the fee in the guest of the room.

We went here on our Honeymoon May 2023 and The hotel was great and the location was perfect! You can walk to a ton of shopping options as well as so many food options. We walked everywhere for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was also a super short walk to the beach. We would definitely stay again.

The rooms over our two stays were very clean with lovely beach views.the staff were friendly and attentive, arranging our taxis, and even greeting us with a cold juice each morning at the desk! The room had a great functioning kitchen. Just a great home away from home. A choice of dining and convenience shopping a minute or two walk away.

The hotel is basically studio type units with partitioned bedrooms and kitchenette. Some of the units appear to be AirBnb. Small lobby with no real amenities, newspaper, water. Check in was easy and friendly staff. I had a 28th floor corner unit with amazing mountain, city, and partial ocean views. Room was dated with 80’s style rattan/bamboo furniture, bruised but overall clean. The TV did not work but was fixed next day. Sliding glass door fell off track but was repaired quickly. Did not use AC because open windows allowed cool breezes into the room. Small motel like bathroom nothing special. Coffee maker with coffee and tea provided, microwave, cooktop, sink with dishes, utensils, pots and pans, drink war, and big refrigerator. There is an ABC store on corner, Hyatt Regency, plenty of shops and restaurants a minute or two away. Hotel provides beach towel, the beach is less than 5 minute walk.

Great location walkable to Waikiki, stunning rooftop pool views, easy to take Uber to Diamond Head or Pearl, many walkable places to eat. Heads-up: the property area feels dirty and crowded with many homeless, so just pay attention to your surroundings.
The room was comfortable and very large with enough of kitchenette to make food if needed to budget.
