Don’t book a pool view room unless you want to smell chlorine the whole time. Even with the fan on, it didn’t get rid of any of the smell. I’ve stayed in similar hotels before with a room off the pool and never experienced the strong chlorine smell the entire time even before opening the balcony.

Kids loved the pool. It was winter, so it's pretty quiet and the dining was all closed. It's in a great location near the water and all the shops and restaurants. Angie at the front desk was an actual angel. You can tell some people are just meant to be in people-facing jobs and truly enjoy it, and she's one of them.

It was my husband and myself first time staying at the 1620 we were very impressed from the minute we walked into the minute we walked out front desk. Staff was more than accommodating housekeeping, staff the same. They answered any questions we had, and asked where we were eating, and when we told them they told us All about it the area is just absolutely beautiful breathtaking and stunning parking was easy. The only thing is I am handicap and we have a handicap placard in the car but there’s no hand handicap parking. We plan on staying there a few more times before we move to Sarasota Florida I would recommend The 1620 highly to anybody who asks

A bit outdated but that never bothers me. Breakfast seemed just so-so and coffee was so-so. I had my dog with me and she had an accident in the elevator and everyone was very nice about it. That meant a lot to me. Also I requested a cot and one was brought up right away. Also really nice. My kids felt very at home there.

The location of this hotel is excellent. Close to historical site’s restaurants and shops. The emoyesss wet helpful.
However, this is a super tired property. Suggestions: I’d love you to thrive, paint the dirty walls in guest rooms. Replace the carpets! Hire someone to walk the building, the elevators, the windows and doors in entrance and make sure they are clean!
Get some decent wine for the bar. You have potential, execute.

We had a great time. Unfortunately, we were only there for one night. The hotel is nearby Memorial Hall where we went for a concert. We walked the waterfront and stopped for an outdoor drink. We walked to and dined at The Tavern on the Wharf. Hotel staff were super regarding dining options and sight seeing suggestions.

Awful hotel experience in the perfect location.
This was the least clean hotel I've ever stayed at. I'm a railroader and am fairly used to staying at less than ideal locations, but this was one of the worst. Had it not been for the beautiful location of this hotel, we would've checked out immediately. We switched rooms after finding numerous defects in our first room. Although our second room was better. It was also terrible.

The room was a pool view. There was water damage to dressers & nightstand. Bathroom had rusty fixtures and was not well cleaned.

Great Place in the middle of everything
Very comfortable and convenient, easy walking distance, to the actual Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower II. It was a short drive to the Patuxant Plantation which made it easy to see everything.

The location was excellent to restaurants within walking distance. The hotel was clean. The rooms were clean and stocked. The breakfast buffet could be a little better. The breakfast buffet lacked such things as bread for toast, and yogurt, dry cereal.

Very convenient location. The room was not so good. Very dark - poor lighting. The TV did not not work. Had to be replaced. Only 6 hangers in closet, 5 were skirt hangers. Had to ask for additional hangers. Room was not worth the price paid. The "resort fee" of $25.00 per night was a ripoff. We are an elderly couple. Did not use the pool, gym or wifi. We did avil ourselves of a cup of coffee in the morning and a glass or 2 of ice water. If you are going to charge a mandatory resort fee, add it to the price of the room. Don;t make it sound like you are getting something extra for the fee.

The location is great! Walkable to so many things, like great restaurants, sightseeing, shops and more. The hotel is dated, and is in definite need of some updating. You must request housekeeping if you’d like it, which is fine. But also be specific about what you want them to do. Trash was taken but no bags were replaced in the cans , hmmm. Super friendly staff, easy check in. Nice pool and hot tub. Overall I would stay again, but know it is dated and could use some paint and attention.

The staff and location were wonderful. The room furniture is very outdated and the restaurant is not open during the week. The value was fine until i realized that i paid a $25 resort fee! It is not a resort and you don't get anything that would substantiate a resort fee. Just put the $25 in the price and i am sure your reviews would change.

Even though there were several wedding receptions being held the night we were there, the room we stayed in was quiet despite being a short way from the lobby and front desk. Angie, who checked us in, was SO helpful, not just to me but also to the other guests who were having issues.
I would definitely be a stay here again.

The receptionist was exceptional and went above and beyond to make our stay even better. LOVE that the hotel is pet friendly with reasonable fees. You aren't placed in an older room or isolated to a room on the bottom floor (like most hotels.) This is our third stay and we will definitely be back

Resort Fee - Gotcha!
Not happy with the $25/day "resort fee" they tack onto the bill. This is the first hotel we have ever stayed at that charged extra for an in-room coffee maker and wi-fi....probably now trying to figure how to charge extra for shampoo and using the hair dryer! Other than this outrageous add on fee, this hotel is in a great location, very clean, and room was comfortable.

1620 hotel
We had a nice time. The pool snd splash pad were great for my grandkids. The rooms were ok. The burrow drawer was mis aligned along with the shower stall floor worn and a little dingy. The beds were comfortable along with the pillows. The buffet breakfast was very very nice snd reasonably priced. We would return.

Pay for the location. Not the room
Stayed at this hotel to attend a funeral/ family reunion. And to get some work done too. I thought I would treat myself to a nicer hotel since I was traveling last min for a tragic event.
The hotel is dated. My room had dents in the wall and the tv was also dented. You also had to unplug it to turn it off. The mattress was old and lumpy. It looks like they are in the process of renovating the hotel which will be nice for future guests. But if you are hoping to take a call in your room during the day you might have to listen to the room next to you getting hammered/ re-tiled.
The pool/ family splash pad area looks really nice, the location was walkable. It was not worth the cost. I think it could be a nicer place to stay in 2026. But I’ll try the other hotels next time.

Everything has always been wonderful when I have stayed here until today when I went to take a shower and turned the water on, went to step into tub and noticed it was filling up so I flipped the drain and it started to drain, GREAT, went to step into the tub and slid across tub floor like I was on ice.
I stepped out holding onto the wall a shut off water and tried again just ti step in tub with no water in it and again slipped across to the back wall with my other leg still on bathroom floor. Didn’t chance taking shower just had Total knee replacement 3 1/2 months ago. I have never had and issue like this before and I gave stayed there at least 5 times prior. I don’t know what they used to clean the bottom of the tub, but it wasn’t safe. Wasn’t very happy. I let the woman at check out desk know about issue in room 226 with tub. I don’t want to think what would have happened if I fell. Or someone else falling. A little disappointed.

Liked proximity to Plymouth Harbor attractions.
Did not like not being offered a free breakfast, consider what we paid to stay there.
In house Bisro only operates on weekends, but many excellent dining options are within a reasonable walking distance.

Great location, but an aging property by most accounts. The front desk staff at check-in seemed to be very busy and almost put out upon our arrival to check in for the evening. When I asked about breakfast at the hotel, she pointed to a printed sign and told me that the hotel doesn't offer any options. Only one of the places listed offered breakfast starting earlier than 7am. When we went there at 6am, no one was there and the place was clearly closed. We wound up finding a Dunkin several miles away, but when we returned, we told the front desk staff that they should update their recommendation list. She then told us of another place 2 blocks away that is local, and 24 hours... I asked why that place wasn't on the list, and she said that it should be!

Convenient and easy for downtown Plymouth, easy check in and parking. No small store to buy snacks/drinks and every vending machine was out of order but stocked. No breakfast or bar area as they used to have years ago. A lot of potential for the property but needs work on amenities.

The location in the middle of historic Plymouth, and a staff enthusiastic about helping are the big pluses. An updated pool complex was still under construction on our visit, which was annoying, and the hotel is much used for medium-size conferences, so it’s not exactly a quiet retreat.
Also, note that the picture of a spacious suite Expedia attaches to its confirmations bears little resemblance to the actual room you may have booked. Read the fine print very carefully.

The hotel is located in a great location. The facility is clean but is a bit old, not fresh feeling. Could it be because of the old carpet? Also, the cleaning staff are not in uniforms, and some of their arms are full of tattoos.

This property is located right in Plymouth Harbor allowing any guest to walk the area. There was plenty of parking as well. Desk service were so nice too! Despite the location, the hotel and rooms are not 5 stars but I had to pay $360/night not including all the fees, etc. Their indoor pool is being renovated. The actual room was clean but it was very dark and difficult to do make up in the bathroom.

Great location and great staff.
We were very pleased with the location, room and staff. We could see the harbor and the Mayflower and the shops and resturants were all very convenient to the location. If it's a nice day a walk on the jetty followed by harborside dining is a great way to unwind. Angie was wonderful during check in and always responsive to our needs. One tip on the Keurig in the room; it will not work in direct sunlight. You have to pull the shade or block the electric eye at the base of the cup or else the machine won't brew because it thinks there's no cup. The only other tip is that the shops and waterfront atteacts some sketchy individuals later at night so it's up to you to pay attention. There was no security pressence so stay alert. Also, Salt is well worth the price even though it's not right on the water. You will want to make a reservation. Enjoy.
