We enjoyed our stay at the Westin Kierland. Lovely property and grounds. Nice bar options but almost no decent dining options but tons in the area and free shuttle so it was all good.

I liked that the resort had planned activities daily for children. Also loved having sporting events televised on a huge outdoor screen in the back courtyard area. There was nothing to think of that we did not like.

I liked most everything about this property and the employees working there were terrific. My biggest complaint was there was no non slip map in the shower. If some old fart slips and falls in the shower and can’t get up you may have a problem on your hands.

The experience was absolutely amazing from start to finish! The staff were the most pleasant I’ve ever encountered, consistently showed a genuine passion for creating a positive guest experience. The property was beautiful with so much to offer, in fact we didn’t even experience it all in just 3 days. The convenience of proximity to the Kierland commons was the Cherry on top! All you could ever need in one place. I’ll definitely be back!

Everything was amazing except for our room. We had an engineer come and check out a/c and supposedly fix every time but room was hot. The hallway was cooler than our room. Did not get the problem fixed while we were there. You would think they would move you to another room but was not an option.

Will not be going back.
Our room was not ready at 4 pm check-in. Every time we went to a restaurant, restaurant was closed, hours are not listed on their in room tv., wanted to try the desserts at The Rim, found out it is only on Friday & Saturday nights even though it’s noted nightly on the in room tv. We will not be going back. There were more, cannot list all.

The Westin did not disappoint, absolutely amazing hotel, grounds and service. All walkable to shopping and restaurants. The pools and lazy river were so nice and the staff did an amazing job especially in the heat. I want to call out the gentleman at the front desk who helped my daughter remove a cactus stinger and cleaned it and sent us off with smiles. This was an amazing girls weekend celebrating my daughters graduation and we will be back! 5 stars all around.

We loved how everything was within walking distance. We didn't need to drive anywhere after we arrived. Plenty of dining options close by and shopping as well.
My husband enjoyed the golf course as well. It was pretty warm during the day so we enjoyed cooling off in the lazy river and pool area. The weather in the evening was perfect for outdoor dining. Overall great resort and we would love to come back sometime.

Family vacation
3 night stop over for family vacation through Arizona. Resort was beautiful with great staff that saw to our every need. Family pool was great with slide and lazy river. A lot of activities for kids. My son also loved the golf cart rides over to shopping center. Shopping center had great restaurants to choose from as well. Very walkable if you didn’t want to enjoy the courtesy rides. Will definitely stay here again.

Great Mother's Day stay
We live locally but this is our 1st time staying at this resort - love being near the shopping/ambience of Kierland. Very clean, nice sized room. Only wish they had more elevators. Only the set of them in the middle of the hotel and you had to walk SOOO far to get to your room (we had a pool view). FlowRider is pricey $70/hr for the 1st hr but the kids loved it. Otherwise enjoyed the pool and lazy river. Only other suggestion would be for them to increase number of umbrellas OR get ones that allow you to tilt them. We were constantly trying to move those heavy things to adjust for the sun at different angles. Next time we would bring some clips to attach towels to the edges of the umbrella to add coverage. (If they'd let us). Otherwise really great stay. Highly recommend

We had a great stay at this property for two nights with our children. The pool was perfect for young kids, there were plenty of activities to keep them busy. They enjoyed playing baseball and basketball. The hotel is conveniently located in walking distance from Kierland Commons and Scottsdale Quarter, two shopping and dining areas. We would definitely stay here again!

I really enjoyed the golf course and the shopping and dining close to the property.
However the cleanliness wasn't up to par, our first room smelled and was dusty, we asked for a change of rooms and we were denied even though my daughter kept sneezing up a storm. I had to buy an air freshener to sleep at night because the smell kept me up. After our 5th night there, I finally called up the front desk at and requested a change of rooms because my family couldn't stand it anymore. We were offered a 100 dollar gift certificate which was a nice gesture but honestly our request should have been granted right away. The rooms in this hotel need a reno big time, my suggestion would be that they either replace all the carpets or have them steam cleaned on a regular basis. Oh yeah and I forgot to mention the sheets on were supposed to be white had a yellow tinge.

The property is full of life. Bagpipes are an example.
An outside fire pit that warmed a December evening,
walking to the spa, or around the ground; everything was beautifully planned and energizing. It was an excellent place to take family. Had no idea Scottsdale is such a paradise.

Beautiful Property, Indifferent Staff
Beautiful property, visibly understaffed and the staff that does work there - from Valet, to Front Desk, to patio wait staff need to be thoroughly trained in guest communication, interactions, and authentic service. Front desk can’t get reservations right and plan on waiting extra long for every service, or just get up and get your own food, drinks, and anything else you may need. Check in was pitiful which sets a bad tone for the rest of the stay. Moved to Fairmont for second half of our trip. There’s a Ritz-Carlton coming to the area as well.

We will be back!
Everything was great. We had amazing service throughout our stay. The only thing I was was a little better was the food at the restaurants. Pool side was good and the cocktails were fantastic.
Reza kept us hydrated through the whole trip. He brought us ice water when he saw our glasses get low. He was fantastic.

We stayed here for one night. Loved the pool area. Seemed to be salt water which was nice. The hallways did have a lot of dirt and dust along the sides and didn’t look like they were vacuumed often. Food was the same everywhere. Not that great and expensive.

I didn't like that I have had over $1200 in holds placed on my account for a 2 day stay. My total charges for 2 rooms was just over $400, so the $1200 is excessive. I will not stay here again for that reason.

Rooms are average, pool is below average.
The hotel itself is nothing special. The pool area is very worn…cushions are filthy, trash cans overflowing and limited menus. Drinks were very weak. Also, a minor detail but only offered a limited number of Pepsi products. I would have much rather stayed at one of the other Scottsdale properties like The Biltmore.

At almost $900 a night not getting housekeeping was dissapointing. Aldo a credit certificate for a two nights stay was not allowed to be used and is now going to expire from a previous visit. Food was ho hum. Restaurant service was awful line out by the pool 30 min long and a slow staff to deal with through the line.

Beautiful property. Staff was really awesome. But I couldn’t believe that the slide and lazy river and pool restaurant/service stopped at 4 pm. We walked out there and couldn’t get served and wondered why all the staff was leaving at 4 on a sunny Saturday afternoon. My daughter was devastated after we checked in to find out she couldn’t enjoy and hour or two out there. For the the high price we paid I’d have liked her to be able to enjoy the pool more. :(

Do not book here
This hotel refused to refund my $500 plus deposit even though I was quarantined in another state due to Covid and not allowed to travel. This is probably illegal and certainly unethical. It's hard to believe this is a Marriott property.

Excellent location and very well manicured resort. We were very pleased, the fire pit with the selection of drinks and food were great too. The proximity to the Kierland Commons (outdoor mall) next door was priceless. Morning walks felt wonderful and safe! And, the adult pool was very nice and quiet, although I think the spa (jacuzzi) in that area should also be for adults not kids since the family pool had their own.

Enjoyable Labor Day Weekend in Scottsdale
We enjoyed our stay over Labor Day Weekend. We booked this place because it is hot in Scottsdale this time of year and we wanted to be sure to book a place with a big pool... which the Westin Kireland has. The one downside was that if you did not get to the pool area before 10am on Saturday and Sunday... there was no way you were getting a shady spot or even semi-shady spot to relax. They could use more umbrellas, but of course how else would they get people to pay for the cabanas and reserved pool seats... right? They were fully booked this weekend, that is for sure, but hey, what do you expect on a holiday weekend? The sunny seats weren't as relaxing because of the heat... but that just meant more time spent in the lazy river, so no complaints. The amenities were always clean, the food at each of the restaurants we went to at the resort was good, it was just across the street from Kireland Commons Mall with tons of shops and restaurants to enjoy, and overall we were very happy with our stay. We arrived early on check-in day and it was no problem to get a room right away. We paid for a late checkout and it was worth it. This place is fun and lively and just what we were looking for. The servers at the pool did a great job keeping our drinks full and the pool DJ kept the atmosphere fun yet relaxing. We will be back, and next time we know to be aggressive by claiming a spot at the pool early and booking spa services in advance.

The Westin is great brand and they delivered on most of the things they are good at being. The were lack adequate housekeeping services leaving me to empty my trash, remove my trash, make my bed, and clean my floor.

Our proximity to shopping and restaurants was fantastic! The hotel staff was friendly and polite. The pools could have been a little cleaner. The same trash was still in the adult pool from the night before. And the adult pool after hours needs to be reinforced by staff. There were about 20 little kids screaming, yelling and splashing until 10 pm. Not very relaxing place for drinks and quiet time. And the Coffee Flats charged me $1 for steamed milk in my tea, which I thought was ridiculous since the hot water and tea bag was already $5. I went off site the rest of the time for beverages.

This resort offers everything. It is perfect for families with a lot to do for kids. The extras they have for family fun is incredible.
The property was clean and staff were friendly and helpful.
The valet was the only area that needs some attention. The valets stood there while guests loaded and unloaded their own luggage. Disappointed with this area. JP stepped in and was a huge help and was more than willing to go out of his way for everyone. He made our trip so enjoyable. Each associate should take note from JP.
More selections to eat would be nice. Price on food is well above what should be normal pricing. Food prices are extremely high however there are many other restaurants to choose from in the area.
Pool service associates were amazing too. Would definitely return to this property.

The hotel staff were wonderful! The rooms were clean and housekeeping was very accommodating. Housekeeping only cleans the room on the third day of your stay (due to COVID safety protocols), however you can request for them to clean each day. You can request towels and such each day from housekeeping. The pool was ok, nothing fancy. The wave pool was fun for the kids. The hotel is in walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Overall our experience at the hotel was good!

I would definitely recommend this resort. Everything was top notch. Staff was friendly, rooms and facilities were very clean. The bed was comfortable. The food was delicious. The water in the pool area was a little too warm but that was the only issue we encountered. What do you when its 110 degrees outside? 😊
