We loved everything about staying at this hotel. It has like a boutique hotel feeling. The rooms could use a little update but we were happy overall. Beds and pillows are very comfortable! And eventhough our room was facing Fenway Park and the highway, we did not hear any noise at night! Also, all staff were soo friendly! They welcomed us with a refillable bottle of water and snacks. They have a coffee station on the morning with very good coffee!

Wonderful Stay
Me and my best friend decided to stay here since we had gotten tickets to a concert at the house of blues right around the corner. The hotel staff was wonderful. Unfortunately i was under the assumption that parking was included and it wasnt, it was extra, but we figured it out and it worked out well. For someone who is used to a very non city area (i live way up north in the mountains) i was surprised that it was still relatively quiet. The man that checked us in was kind enough to get us a room that was available then and there we showed up round 3pm check in is 4pm. Overal we had a great time. Would definitely recommend this hotel, especially for location it was set perfectly in the center of the boston common with many options for food and activity within walking distance and plenty of public transportation for farther excursion.

Fenway room
We love the hotel. Have stayed there often. Glad there is a restaurant now where Eastern Standard was - just had drinks there. Sushi place at hotel is amazing! Had a great stay. Valet not helpful for the price you pay. Seemed to be distracted. And we were almost “lectured” when inquiring about late check out. Awkward!

Was in town for one night to go to show at HOB. Location absolutely perfect, easy walk to event. Room service for breakfast was prompt and delicious. Great selection of restaurants on site. Would definitely stay again.

S at the front desk is an amazing employee and so wonderfully friendly and helpful. We were moving our child into Boston University, and I believe we will be staying at the Hotel Commonwealth every time we visit Boston! Seriously cannot say enough about all of the staff and especially S.

Beautifully Designed Hotel Near Fenway
We stayed at the Hotel Commonwealth to attend an event at the MGM Music Hall Fenway which was a short walk from Hotel Commonwealth. Our room was beautiful and spacious. In fact, we really liked the designs chosen for the room and hotel, very tasteful indeed. Nick at the front desk was charming and made us feel special. The bottled water and snacks given out upon check-in were very much appreciated. We had a wonderful time and loved the Hotel Commonwealth. We plan to book this hotel again when we are in Boston.

Unfortunately, the hotel is misrepresented on pictures on Expedia. It looks like they have old rooms (terrible, musty, smells like mildew or mold, stained carpet, old scratched furniture) and some renovated rooms. The staff was polite and changed my room four times before we got the one that did not have smell or looked clean.

Everything was great except not knowing that parking wasn't included. I had just assumed with a reservation that we would be able to park in the garage but that is not the case. You have to pay the 72$ vallet fee per night.

Wonderful hotel ….
Wonderful hotel. We stayed in one of the signature rooms, The Rathskeller Suite and it was absolutely stunning. The staff there were amazing, so friendly and helpful. Good area, with Fenway park right behind. Would definitely stay again.

Large, clean rooms in the heart of Kenmore. Fenway and The House of Blues are literally in your backyard. Great home base to tour all Boston has to offer. Great bars and restaurants in walking distance.

Staff was exceptionally friendly and competent. The room was wonderful. However, we were caught off guard by fees and surcharges that were beyond the cost of the reservation added after we checked out.

I do not recommend staying here
The room was fine but for such expensive rooms there was a lack of amenities. No microwave, no coffee maker, not even an ice bucket and no place to get ice. The TV did not work at first. They did send someone quickly and they got it working but it is still a poor condition.

Run down 3.5 star hotel
It was fine. A once- four star hotel that hasn't been well maintained. Furniture had damage. Bathroom was a bland beige tiled room with a small tub/shower and low water pressure. Gaudy overstuffed leather furniture. The photos on the website make it look nicer than it truly is. But clean and an acceptable place to spend a night.

We got upgraded and enjoyed a beautiful suite. Everything was clean, the water they gave us was in refillable bottles, and it was pretty quiet despite being on Comm Ave. We’re coming back!

Great location with east accessibility to public transportation. Eateries and convenience stores nearby. Only downside was the parking and car had to be valet.

Quick weekend getaway
We stayed at the Hotel Commonwealth for a quick weekend getaway and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. The hotel is in a prime location for access to Fenway Park, the MGM theatre, restaurants, bars and the Kenmore subway station. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the room was clean and spacious. Will definitely be back.

Hotel Commenwealth is a beautiful property with a welcoming and accommodating staff, from the doormen to concierge. They provide snacks and reusable tin water bottles from PATH and water station available. In the morning, La Colombe Coffee is offered along with a selection of teas. The only downside was there is only valet parking available and Wi-Fi is at cost.

Stayed at the common wealth for one night for a concert at the house of blues, overall a great stay with no complaints. Staff are kind and welcoming. No need to stress parking with valet! Fenway and house of blues is a quick 5 minute walk from the hotel. The room was great. No complaints ! Enjoy your time!

Super nice staff so make sure you bring some $10s for tipping. Close to everything (we even walked to Regina’s north end). No coffee maker so we bought a cheap one at target. There is a nice morning coffee setup in the lobby. No ice machine but they can bring you some or fill up a Big Gulp at 7-11 next door. Other than that it was great and the suite is nice to have 500sq ft w two room.

We thought the hotel was beautiful and very clean. My only complaint for the price of the hotel was that they should have in room coffee makers or offer free coffee in the lobby like most hotels that don’t offer coffee in the room.

Great hotel and location, near Fenway park and. 30-40 mins walk to Boston commons and garden, Quincy market, downtown, even walkable (70 mins ) to Harvard! Hotel is clean and spacious (we got the executive room with a separate seating area), they had good bottled water but one of the front staff was very unhappy to be there and the sofa bed queen sized is terrible :( super soft and saggy in the middle to the point my elderly mom could not roll up from it :(

Considering the really expensive price per night I paid, not having an iron in the room in a city where there are conferences everytime is unacceptable. No compensation was even offered by the hotel. I am not recommending it if you are doing business travel.

Stayed in a double Queen room facing Fenway. The room was well appointed, beautifully designed and in very good condition. The staff went out of their way to be helpful, courteous and professional. The morning coffee and refillable water bottles were a bonus.

The hotel was not as expected. Got a Fenway view room that was very different than advertised. Looked into the highway and the back of Fenway Park. The rooms are dated and the beds not too comfortable. The staff wasn’t the most accommodating. But I will say that the two restaurants on hotel property are fantastic!

The hotel and its staff were amazing. We went to a concert at Fenway MGM and the location was awesome. The cost was high for a weeknight stay in September. It would be nice if the parking was included. I had free WiFi but could not get it to work.

My only complaint is that the pictures make the hotel appear to have a terrace overlooking the stadium. On arrival we found out that this is only used for private parties. The pictures are a bit misleading, as we thought when we booked this hotel that this would be an exciting experience for our baseball loving kids. Staff was excellent, informative and willing to help whenever they were able!

My husband and I were so excited to stay at this hotel, but we were not impressed. Staff was really nice and hotel was super close to Fenway park but other than that we didn’t feel like the amenities were great or there was anything special. We also thought there was a rooftop lounge with a view of Fenway park, but that was an event space so that was a fail for us. Feel like there were probably better options out there.

I love this hotel! The people here are extremely friendly, personable, amd genuine, from the valet to the front desk. The only complaint i have is that the our bed was pretty lumpy. The room otherwise was lovely. It was great to be walking distance to Fenway and Boston U.

The staff in this hotel is exceptional. I landed very early, and "S" from the reception desk was cheerful, professional, and helpful. He accommodated my early check-in and offered me snacks and a bottle of water. I later found out that I had to stay one more night for business, and even though I had already checked out, I returned to the hotel, and "S" was there to take care of me again. He even tried to put me back in the same room. The staff takes an extra step to help, which is unusual nowadays. The hotel is a little old as I recall it used to be a much more "hip" and fashionable place. The decor needs some love and attention, but the hairdryer and steamer are great. The bath products are excellent as well.
