Expedia had this property as a free breakfast which it was it was not. We had to switch rooms because of the air conditioning quit working and we were not comped for the inconvenience. Door on bathroom had privacy issues. No one to help with luggage. It was in a great location for beach and kept very clean.

Couple Anniversary Trip
The hotel staff were great to work with in accommodating our request to move to a room farther away from the center courtyard which host live singers and dancer each evening until 11 pm-ish. For those looking to party late into the night, it would be a good option as it in the central section of SoBe entertainment strip. For those how like to call it any early night, there be more appropriate options elsewhere. It does have a great view of the beach and ocean.

I read reviews that this hotel was in an area outside of the noisy part of South Beach so I decided to try it out. The staff not only let me check in early but upgraded my room to a room with a view of the ocean. I enjoyed riding the hotel bikes for a couple of hours that afternoon. I quickly learned that night that ocean view rooms are likely the worst rooms due to NOISE. The restaurant next door had a live performer until 11 pm and then transitioned into a hookah bar with music playing until 2am!! The music resumed at 8am the following morning so if you only want to sleep from 2-8am check this hotel out. Otherwise, if you'd like a quieter experience I'd book a hotel on the north side of South Beach.

Pros. Remodeled. Big tv. Comfy bed. Large room.
Cons. Original windows offer little sound protection.
Sunday nite stay had lounge singer til 11pm. Either that or someone was lancing a boil on a cat. The bar has 50 dollar drinks we heard. A water was 9 dollars. A soda was 6. With service charge it was 19 dollars.

Perfect spot for staying in the Art Deco area of Miami/South Beach. King room was spacious, clean, and simple. Bed was so comfortable. Only negative was the loud music from Ocean Dr. Until 2 am but we expected that. Definitely not the place to stay if you’re looking for a quiet retreat to relax and unwind. This is in the middle of all the fun and nightlife!!! Stay here to have fun and explore South Beach. Helpful hint: park in the municipal parking garage one block north. It’s only $20 for overnight.

I rented the balcony on the 4th floor with an Oceanview and all I saw was the top of the roof of the building. I had to request to be moved to another room on the 5th floor.

This place had a great location. The beach eas across the street and there were many restaurants and bars within walking distance. Pico was very helpful. The furniture needs replacement.

I stayed at Hotel Ocean two times in the last month! I re-booked for for my second stay because the stay was so great the first time! Pino at the front desk is very friendly and accommodating! Barbara, the manager, is out front to greet everyone and is very sweet and fun! Kendry is a charming and great waiter as well. It is in a perfect and safe location. Beach is across the street, shopping is all around, a nice mall area walking distance away! I will stay here anytime I am in Miami!

My husband and I stayed in a modern superior room. Our room was very nice and clean. The bed was soooo comfortable. The shower was amazing. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The maid service was top notch. For being in Miami it was very quiet. Beach towels and chairs were included in our stay along with free waters, coffee, and use of their sister pools just 2 buildings away. The location was better than we imagined. It is right next to a parking garage that only charges $20/day and within a 2 minutes walking distance from the former Versace mansion. Which was a major plus for us because we wanted to make sure we went there on this trip. When in Miami, I will only be staying here. We really enjoyed our stay and made some very unforgettable memories. Thank you for such a great experience!!

The room was nice. Slept in room 311. It was very bright at night barely slept with the brightness of the room at night due to the street light / other hotel property light shining thru the bathroom window into the bedroom.

If you are solo traveller or if you don’t like noise DO NOT STAY THERE. They put me into a room overlooking the patio where there is loud music late into the night. There was a weird metallic sound that was very loud (like some gate opening or something). This kept going all through the night and kept me awake. I had to change hotels. The place is dirty, everything is outdated, the bedsheets looked non-clean, the food downstairs is really bad. The only good thing is that it is across the beach and they have beach chairs and also bikes.

Unfortunately, the hotel was not what we had expected.
The pictures that were provided online didn’t exactly match up to what we had seen in person.
There was loud music playing outside our room every night that we had stayed there up until 11:00pm if not later.
I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you’re looking to truly relax and get some rest.

Firstly, hotel charged us an extra !$50 per day sercive charges even tho we had paid thru Hotels.com 😔
Secondly, we booked 2 day trips thru them, they messed them up, and when we asked to cancel the 2nd trip, we did not get a refund, the deposit was non refundable but the remainder should have been....Very frustrated with the lack of assistance 🙄

There were drain flies in our room and outside of room. No housekeeping to get new linens/towels. Given wrong room upon check-in. Breakfast was worse than a gas station quality

Not Worth The Money
Hotel Description of Beach access was deceptive. A/C would not go below 75 and then failed overnight. The Cartridge in the Shower valve was bad. Either Scalding hot or Ice cold. Would not keep a consistent temp. Water pressure was poor at best. I have stayed at nicer Motels.

We enjoyed our stay at this property. The outside of the hotel isn’t up to date but the rooms are which was a nice surprise! The room we staying in was very clean and the bathroom was great, plenty of room and very clean as well. For the price you cannot beat this location being that it is right on Ocean Dr and you get complimentary beach chairs and towels which is a plus.

We had reservations here for over a year and two days before we were called to say they were moving us to another property due to a fire in the restaurant. The hotel they moved us to was the Breakwater which is in same area. Not sure how these two places compare but the Breakwater is VERY tired. Bathroom tiles had mold and the smell of mildew was overwhelming in the entire place. Since they moved us, we are unable to directly review the Breakwater. Staff tried really hard but hotel needs work.

Great spot. Close to the beach and several restaurants. Very lively area. The road in front is closed off and we had to walk a bit to meet our ubers. But not a long walk. Room was nice. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful.

Great location, right on the beach, and in the middle of everything. Couldn't check in early but they did let us check our bags so we didn't have to lug them around all day. Staff was friendly, and the room was nice. Could use better signage from road showing how to get to lobby though.

This was a great property to visit. Eventhough it is located directly on a busy street Ocean Dr. It was still quiet and quant you did not hear any noise from outdoors. The hotel decor and rooms were very modern and clean. There was 1thing that a little off there was a slight stinch in the hallway I couldnt put my finger on..but not too disturbing. I loved the fact that the property is directly across the street from the Beach and the hotel provides Beach towels AND Beach chairs at no extra cost. I enjoyed that they also had vintage style bikes you can ride to get around locally instead of walking or calling Uber. They also provided free water and fresh fruit for hydration located at the front desk. All thr Amenities was included in The Resort fee which was reasonable compared to some places and my husband and I utilized every amenity offered. My only concern was the WiFi service although it was open I had difficulty using it I could ONLY make calls and receive my text msgs outside the property. Not sure why I had this issue and also the open concept bathroom. It had NO DOOR thats right none..although beautiful and modern I still would have liked a main door possibly sliding door and also a glass door or glass divider for the shower area would be better in my.opinon..other than that everything was great from the front desk personnel to the cleaning staff to the wait staff at the restaurant.I would recommend and stay at this hotel AGAIN!!

The room was better than the pictures! Location was great and surrounded by Miami fun! Beach literally a 5 minute walk from room. Hotel Victor’s pool is amazing and was such a great extra to go along with the stay! You can’t go wrong with this hotel!

Nice Room, Bad complementary breakfast
Comfortable bed, nice bathroom with a great shower. The room could use a small table with a couple of chairs so there would be a place to eat dinner or am coffee while looking at the view. The complementary breakfast was really disappointing
We got downstairs in plenty of time to find only 1 small pastry left along with a probably a cup of old burnt coffee in the bottom of the pot. Pointed this out to the front desk person and was told oh they took them all. She did not put more out. She did make more coffee but didn't dump out the old burnt coffee first so the coffee was still terrible

This was our third stay at Hotel Ocean. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean and spacious. Very quiet also. Loved the bikes, beach chairs and towels, and coffee and water provided in a low resort fee compared to other hotels. Overall I would definitely recommend staying here while in south beach.

Our stay at hotel and ocean was great! Initially we got the modern ocean view room and our view wasn’t very good (covered by palm trees mostly, and very tiny windows) but when we requested a switch for a different room with a better view the front desk accommodated for a reasonable up charge. The room was spacious and beautiful. The bathroom was gorgeous and modern, I loved the marble! My partner did not want to leave. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will be back again soon!
Side note the pool at their sister hotel, hotel Victor was gorgeous! They were very accommodating and had a full bar along with a menu where you could order food and drinks!

Great Location - Odd Room
I am completely torn about this review. The hotel had a great location right on Ocean Drive. The room may have been in a state of rehabilitation? We had to access our 5th floor room by going through the back alley and up some stairs behind an unmarked access door. (The elevator was out of commission at the time.) Alfred who checked us in was extremely accommodating and took care of us. He made sure that the exterior bathroom door, which looked out over the city and was clear glass, was frosted for privacy the next day. Bed was comfortable. Location was excellent, but I don't know that I would stay here again.

First time in a boutique style hotel and will be my last. Night auditor was rude! Room phone did not work at all so I couldn't call front desk for extra tolls and had to use my cell or walk down when I needed things, I had mosquitos in my shower every day, the wooden floor was dirty in my room everyday so I had to walk around with socks on to keep the soles of me feet from getting dirty, no ice machine in the hotel you have to walk next door to the resturant to have them fill your garage bag with ice.

There was no parking available. All garages full. Had to valet a couple blocks away for $45. No cart to move luggage. Loud music through the night. Uncomfortable bed. The restaurant out front is advertised as 20% off. The waitress took our room and key and still forgot to give us the deal. The food was also bad. The only plus about the hotel was the amazing bathroom.

Bathroom toilet smelled backed up!! No towels were available for the beach. Someone was slamming the doors of the rooms all night! Walls are very thin we could hear snoring! Would not return to this hotel in the future!

We were put in a different hotel down the street and told it would be “identical” to Hotel Ocean. It was not. Our king bed was actually two single beds pushed together and the entrance was through an ice cream shop. Didn’t feel like a nice hotel. And they charged us an upcharge when we got to the new hotel though we were promised it would be no extra charges.

We had an amazing time at Hotel Ocean this past week! Everyone at the front desk was so incredibly nice and welcoming (changed from morning/afternoon/evening), bottles of water were available at the front desk every day, we were able to use beach towels and beach chairs (bicycles too if you wanted to rent one!). There were always coffees/apples/pasteries in the lobby for everyone. Housekeeping was wonderful and kind. The restaurant was delicious (and not too expensive!). Our room was clean and comfortable, and the bed was amazing. We had plenty of storage space, a safe, and a mini fridge. We needed to have maintenance called once for a minor clogged shower drain, and he came up to help within 5 minutes of calling the front desk. He was kind, quick, and efficient! We can’t wait to visit again!

This hotel was ok. It didn't cost too much so i can't complain. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. I didn't have a good view of anything and the band at the hotel performed until midnight. The food and drinks at the hotel restaurant were too expensive and the drink didn't seem to have any alcohol in it. The part i disliked the most is that there wasn't an ice machine available. I had to take the ice bucket to the hotel bar and have them fill it up in order to get ice for my room.

We stayed 7 days with zero issues. Our room was clean, very nice and quite roomy. Our room had lots of windows with a decent view. Bathroom had two sinks and a large shower. We stayed on the third floor and the only noise we heard was room service commotion in the morning which wasn't a big deal.
The hotel is in a good central location in South Beach. We walked everywhere and took an Uber when needed.
An added perk was having access to the amenities at Hotel Ocean's sister hotels (Victor & Breakwater). Hotel Victor's pool was great!
We would definitely stay here again!

I called the day before we left to make sure they were open. I was told over the phone that they were open. When we get to the hotel the restaurant across from them tells us that they are closed and to go to The Breakwater Hotel. That was not the hotel I had paid for. No explanation was given. The Breakwater Hotel was an experience on its own. Around 2am one night the alarm went off for 45 minutes straight. There was no compensation for that. There were sounds every few minutes threw the whole stay that we had no idea what they were or coming from. It was the worst experience.
