If you’re just coming for the beach, it’s a great spot. Staff are friendly and the water/ pool is nice. Be aware: beach chairs and umbrellas are $15 each per day, parking is $25 a night, the restaurant is more high end in options/ pricing, and there’s really nothing around there besides condos. The property is halfway between a hotel and an airbnb so normal cleaning and hotel conveniences need to be requested with notice. If you’re just looking to get away, I would recommend it, but if you like exploring, it’s not the best spot for you.

Absolutely perfect!! Location was beautiful and quiet. You kind of need a car to get to places or uber it is all hotels and condos along the beach! So clean and gorgeous loved it

Only attraction is the beach. Not walking distance to restaurants or shops. Room was cleaned once during 7 days stay. Place is grossly understaffed. Common area reserved for hotel restaurant.

Great short vacation at Hillsboro powered by Sonder! Clean, modern, quiet, and comfortable room, easy access to pool and beach; delicious drinks and meals at the restaurant (shout out to Pancho:); everyone working there was extremely attentive and responsive!! We absolutely recommend this place and will stay again!!

The property is nice everything you need. However, there are some issues you can tell where some corners were cut in construction. (Example shower glass wasn’t sealed correctly to the wall so it leaked). Other than that it was good. Everything is online. No number to call or phones in the room if you need something. Could be a problem in an emergency.

The private beach was beautiful! As was the pool and restaurant area. Check in was easy, staff was nice and helpful throughout the stay. The room upon arrival was nice, but a bit sandy and damp. The only real annoyance I had was the shower, as there was no door/shower curtain which made it very difficult to shower without the bathroom getting soaked. Another big thing to note as many other reviews point out is the hotel is a 10 ish minute drive from stores/restaurants. Overall the value for the price is very fair even based on location alone. I had a pleasant stay and would definitely return.

Overall, a nice place. We had no housekeeping, because if we wanted it, we had to inform the main desk 24 hours ahead. Not a big problem, but no one said anything and there was nothing in our room that said to do that. Also, they ONLY have valet parking at 25$ a day. We also had to pay for beach chairs, at a hotel we already paid to be at. It was fun for what out was, probably would not go back to be honest.

It was an okay experience. It’s not fully set up like a hotel so they do not clean your room, and getting new towels everyday was a struggle. We asked multiple times before they would bring them to our room. Otherwise, the rooms were tinier than expected but clean. The access to the beach was great and the restaurant on the main floor was delicious. Juan our server went above and beyond for whatever we needed! He made the whole experience much more elevated.

Terrible room. Do not do anything through the the app as they will charge you for everything. I did not like that you must use the valet parking. The restaurant is owned by a local person. The food was not good and it was expensive.

We stayed 5 nights and had a wonderful stay. Staff was amazing. We had some wonderful interactions with Kyle at the front desk. He was pleasant and helpful. Every valet staff member was also wonderful and very polite. I was getting worried reading the recent reviews. The only thing that could have been better, was the last 2 days on the beach there was quite a bit of trash that washed up. Other than that it was a wonderful stay. We will be back for sure!

This beautiful hidden gem is one we keep coming back to! The location is quiet and right on the beach! The staff is amazing and even sent me my vanity bag after I left it behind. Mae is amazing! Highly recommend!

Staying at the Hillsboro powered by Sonder was an enjoyable experience. My room was incredibly comfortable and I felt I had all the amenities I needed within the room. I ordered room service for breakfast both days which was delivered promptly on time and was still hot when I received it. I will say however, that I ordered room service because the restaurant hours were not as readily available on the website and I think I would have preferred to eat outside of my room if I could’ve found them more readily. I wake up later than most due to shift work and didn’t want to show up for breakfast late with no other option. My only other note for prospective guests would be if you’re not planning to rent a car/won’t have a car with you, it’s a pretty tough location to be in in terms of walkability to other restaurants or shopping. I had to use ride share services for most of my stay if I wasn’t getting a ride from a friend who lived nearby. Despite all this, if you do have access to a car, this is a great location as it is right on the beach with beach access and a ton of privacy. Overall, it was a very relaxing stay and I would consider staying here again in the future.

Overall, the place is nice. Gym is small but has the basics. Rooms are nice and clean. Just walk out through the patio and your steps from the beach. 2 things i didn’t like. VALET only. $25 plus to park a day. The other….. get some soft door hydraulic closers. Or people are just plain rude slamming those doors at all times of the day and night.

This property was in a beautiful area that was mellow and allowed for piece and quiet. Valet parking was easy and always fast. We also used Uber and it was an safe location to get in and out of. My only recommendation is to wear socks or flip flops in the rooms. The sand likes to stick on the tile floors.

Perfect vacation by the beach !! Quiet place with direct access to a beautiful private beach. Great heated pool. This small boutique hotel is for the modern traveler that is use to airbnb style stays. Although there is always staff available at reception should you need extra coffee pods, sheets etc. Good service from the valet! Easy to order car through app, 15 mins ahead of time. Restaurant with direct view on the ocean has good food. Special mentions to Catalina and Juan (Breakfast and dinner service). Anthony, Chef and Caio at reception. We will be back.

Lackluster stay

The hotel lacked basic amenities and when requested there was no follow-up (on multiple occasions- no towels were brought or functioning electricity) Everything felt bare bones with little maintenance or care given with some sort of recent property turn over. Old branding and not much care given to establish the new identity. The staff were all over the place but not helpful. Our studio room was not marketed as a conjoined to another but we were awkwardly sharing a joint accommodation entryway with a very loud dog next door. Sound proofing was poor and generally run down experience.

Good location, not a nice room

We payed for a room with a balcony and got a room without one.The bed in VERY low. The furniture in the room is scarce, no place to put your clothes or the baggage.The bathroom very small. The fees to use the beach chairs are very high. You have to pay for parking and use valet service. The service at the restaurant was poor and slow, with some of the waiters not very gentle and attentive. The location is very good, in very close to the beach.

The cleaning Crue left my door wide open for hours - the floors were filthy - the staff didn’t have any information about the restaurant downstairs, no one knew if you could order food or not yet there was a flyer advertisement in my room, that simply stated dine in or dine out in your room, they never had clean towels in the pool area, where the towel bins, when I asked for clean bath towels they left them outside on the ground outside my door, and they were dirty, but I’m really sorry that we lost a pair of earrings due to the cleaning crew, leaving my door wide open, and we found them under the bed? They jumped out of the box and ran under the bed, a brand new pair of earrings? Those people are inconsiderate, unprofessional and dirty. ‼️and more horrifying things happened!

Definitely do not come to this hotel! It will be the biggest mistake of your life! I bought a holiday from this hotel with expedia for about two weeks, paying extra for a larger room. I arrived and my room was the size of a bathroom. I reported this to frontdesk! They didn't care! I came to my room! I can hear all the sounds in the next room as if they were in my room! bad insulation! One of the lights in my room is not working! The AC makes a lot of noise, I have a small window in my room and I try to use it because the AC sound does not let me and my husband sleep! I had to pick up the garbage from the hotel's beach this morning! The elevator is really dirty! I have been here for almost 4 days and there were only two towels in my room, I asked for room cleaning but no one came to my room for this! Unfortunately, there is insufficient staff! The employees are really rude! I'm afraid to ask them anything! There is a shipping fee. Beach chairs are also $15 per day! Come to this hotel knowing these! The service here is incredibly bad. In my experience, this hotel is a complete money trap! I talked to Expedia about the situation, but they claimed. note, EDIT; I requested frontdesk to clean my house twice and they kept me busy each time. I have been in this hotel for about 4 days, but I did not receive room cleaning service Cleanliness is not important for this hotel! When you ask for cleaning service they just stall you! There is no service in this hotel!

The stay can be improved if the room is properly cleaned. A pig ear was left under the bed from previous occupant. The cleaning staff must be properly supervised, to ensure the facility is ready for the next guest. I also suggest that extra Towels, paper goods such as additional paper towels and facial tissue are left in the room. Especially cleaning is not available through the period of visit. If these improvements are done, I will return.

Four and a half out of five stars just be clear on what you and your group need! I traveled with my husband and 2 of our children age 19 and 17. My goal was to find accommodations with a bedroom for my spouse and me plus separate beds for our young adults. Our stay was 4 days over the holiday therefore I also wanted a fridge and microwave. Other requirements included a beachfront location and balcony with ocean views. The Hillsboro powered by Sonder checked those boxes. ACCOMMODATIONS The kitchenette included a mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot with pods, and paper towels but don’t expect plates, bowls, or silverware. The fact that those items aren’t included and it’s not clearly stated was frustrating. Also the entrance to our room and most others were on the exterior of the building. This made it feel a little like a motel but it allows the property to blend in to surrounding Hillsboro community which as the only hotel in town is important. LOCATION Don’t expect to mix and mingle at a lively bar downstairs or to find eateries directly around the hotel. The area is residential! The direct beach access was fabulous and most mornings I had the beach to myself to watch the sunrise. The beach was never crowded and it felt very exclusive which I appreciated. We went to relax, decompress, and spend time as a family so The Hillsboro powered by Sonder worked for us and I would consider revisiting.

I had a great stay. The hotel staff and valet staff were attentive and friendly. The room was clean and we had a nice view of the pool and beach. We could literally walk right onto the beach. I would encourage renting the bikes on the property to go for a sightseeing bike ride around the area.

Overall nice property. It feels like an older holiday inn where the entrance doors are all outside. My first room smelled like corn chips/feet...so I was moved to another. This one was decent enough to sleep in for the night. There is a restaurant on property that the front desk didn't tell me about (had to ask).

This was a simple and efficient weekend getaway directly on the beach. I love that they have a restaurant on the premises, but good restaurants are just a 5-10minute uber away. If you drive there's a daily $25 valet fee and no street parking. I will be back.

Loved being right on the beach. Beautiful homes along water side drive to get to the property. Bed comfortable. Room had basic Microwave, coffee maker, Fridge. NO utensils ,plates etc. Just be aware to bring something to room to eat with, we bought a Chicken, some Wine, for dinner. Used or hands Lol Busy street to enter/exit from. Only single lane each way. Added Hydro construction the days we stayed made it a little harder to Enter /Exit during day. Night time had NO traffic issue. pretty Xmas light on the street. Only one elevator working each day we stayed. Fuse blew for our Refridgerator,microwave. Wait next day get someone in to fix. Was breaker in next room tripped.

The views of this property were fantastic. It had a private beach just steps away from the main door. It was such a great find! There was a restaurant downstairs where we enjoyed eating outside with ocean views. The only complaint I would have is we couldn't find vending machines for drinks or bottled water.

Property is wonderful it’s right on the beach. The price was great for right on the beach. I stayed there for a week. It was sort of like an Airbnb on the beach. It’s right on the beach beautiful beach there’s food right nearby shopping room was clean. nobody bothered me all week had a little porch, I didn’t mind but the only thing they do is charge you valley parking $25 a day

This the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. Upon my arrival, I was informed that the hotel requires valet parking at an additional cost. 25 dollars per night. I paid this fee to have someone park my car just a few feet away from where I was standing when I could have parked it myself. I was also told that the car key would be kept with the staff until I needed to use the car. This is totally unnecessary. After checking in, I had gone up to my room and when I entered, I tried to turn on the lights but they would not turn on. I immediately thought to call the front desk to ask for assistance. To my surprise, there was no phone in the room. After a few minutes, of searching around in the dark I finally figured out how to turn on the lights. I found an information card with a phone number that goes to a call center instead of the front desk. I was told to use an app to get a hold of someone at the facility. How does that make sense? I need to call a third party to reach someone where I am already at!! The room smelled like marijuana, the floor was filthy, and the bathroom shower had hair everywhere in it! Even my towel that I used to dry myself after a shower had hair in it. Absolutely disgusting! Bathroom fan was super loud! I woke up in the middle of the night for some water. To my surprise, there were no bottles of water in the room provided. The manager confirmed that they do not provide water! Housekeeping is only provided upon request 24 hours in advance!!

Last night AC gave problems but overall the stay was great. Staff was extremely accomodating a member of my party dropped their airpod from the balcony and the reception host retrieved it right away. Room was nice and clean definitely would stay again

i had a bad experience at 3am the guest next door had an altercation with her boyfriend and the man was yelling and screaming trying to kick down the door..the police eventually came after an hour..additionally the bed sheets were so dusty and a few times the elevator got stuck and did not work..terrible experience for 3 days wouldnt recommend

We didn’t want to take a star off but there were no hangers in our room (remedied the next morning when we alerted staff) and no hand soap for bathroom (hotel was out, but remedied on day #2). Coffee pot in room had no instructions and we couldn’t figure it out. However, those are 3 minor things; the rest of everything was very good. All staff we interacted with were ALWAYS friendly and helpful!

Unfortunately, when we arrived there was limited staff, no soap, coffee,tea,etc in the room, no furniture to put clothes in. Breakfast staff was one person, who kept telling us she was the only person working. When housekeeping was requested, it was not received. Lovely beach location, has the potential to be much better.

This hotel is lacking in many ways. There is little to no staff on site. My room was double booked so I didn't even get the suite I needed to accommodate my family. Rooms were never cleaned, no housekeeping, and no towels available. This place is more like a condominium that has been converted into a hotel but is lacking all the perks of a hotel. Only valet parking, which was annoying for coming and going with a busy family. The beach. is beautiful, but there are not chairs set up and no one around to help set up.

Excellent location. Beautiful, right on the water. Affordable place to stay. Restaurant had great food but is too pricey in comparison to the hotel. Hotel has been updated, but not a quality job. Rooms are damp, towels do not dry and the AC just did not make the room comfortable. Service was very friendly and help. Forced valet for $25 per day. Again this required service just does not match the quality level of the hotel.

This is a really good property to stay at. It has its own access to the beach… Inexpensive valet parking. There's a restaurant on the property. It's pretty good to very good. The price was excellent. It's just half a mile from the center of Deerfield Beach so you can get Willie any kind of dining you want and many options for coffee and shopping. Maybe 2 miles from Central Boca Raton… A short drive for golf or etc. you can be in Miami in an hour, you can be in Fort Lauderdale in 30 minutes. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My only negative was I had paid for a terrace view – there were none available. The front desk comped me around of drinks.

Ac not working i had the 3 bed superior suite no replacement i got a 1 bed 1 sofa bed with only 10% discount in the 1 bed room shower is in the bath and water accumulates every shower leaving full residue Ac is right on top of the bed and make lot of noise Room was not like your pictures

I chose this property for its location and the pictures. Location is absolutely beautiful. The beach is right there at your feet. It was windy when we visited, but it didn't stop us from enjoying the beach and the pool. I was aware parking was $25 a day. Even if I think its a bit much, it would be nice to have the option to use the valet or not. Parking attendants were very nice and efficient. The room was much smaller than it seemed on the pictures. It wasn't as described. No Smart TV, no iron and board. We use the app to get help. Many times,.there wasn't anyone at the front desk. I wanted the room cleaned, but you have to pay an extra $20 plus tax. We decided against it and just asked for fresh towels, which weren't given on the same day. We had to ask again. Beach umbrella and chairs are available, but again, for $15 each plus tax. The cleaning around the buding lacks. For 3 days we could see the same smudges all over the mirrors on the elevator and a very dirty rug. It was wiped down eventually but we could still see fingerprints. We ate once at the restaurant. We had the burger and it was delicious. We paid $11 for bottled water. It was a bit much, but it was convenient not to go somewhere else. I wouldn't call this a resort, but it serve its purpose. Would I go back? I'm not sure. The extra cost adds up quickly. A hotel might have been cheaper after all.

This is a NOT a hotel. It is glam camping at a renovated condo with app-based staff. I booked on Expedia a room type but was given lower room type, they changed it. Construction next door starts at 8 am. The best staff interaction was with the restaurant waiter. He should be the manager. He was able to determine my need, pivot, and with cook delivered a meal. The private beach was best part. There is no phone in the room. You reach out to hotel via App. There is no 5G reception inside the building despite what lies the staff tell you. Overnight valet $25. Sonder hotel already charges $44 for 2 pm late check-out. Then the Valet got greedy wanted to charge $25 for late 2pm. Valet stated you stayed beyond 11am, and you have to pay overnight. After spending several hundreds of dollars at hotel, restaurant, late fee $600 for 2 night stay. Valet said you must pay $25 overnight for 3 hours. I got Sonder manager to assist. She comes out listen and does NOT do or say anything. She said Sonder does not own Valet company. The English-fluent Valet calls the boss. They speak Portuguese for several minutes. I ask can you speak English so I can understand. Sonder rep tells me that I shouldn’t ask that. I told rep if you acted like hotel manager then I wouldn’t be doing any talking. If you would have just said that I would handle the valet instead doing nothing”. Sonder rep to me “Don’t tell me how to do my job. You are the reason for this.” I called Sonder, and same incompetent.

This resort was clean and the bed were comfy. The room is extremely small and there are very few rooms with balconies. The resort fee and the valet parking were not worth the cost.

The property was nice, and the location next to the beach was great. The area offers very limited dinning. The minus point for our stay was the service of the staff. They were severly understaffed. I went to the restaurant at 09:30 PM, to get something to eat, and was advised by the very annoyed staff member (female), that the kitchen was closed. I mentioned that it states that the restaurant closes at 10:00 PM. She said, yes but the kitchen closes at 09:30, that there was a note in the elevator to this affect. There was no such note in the elevator. Beach service for charirs and umbrella, was also very slow. The guy kept saying that he was alone, and that it would take a while. Sounds lile a staffing problem, should not be a customers problem.

⁃ Disappointing Stay at Hillsboro Beach Resort I recently had a highly disappointing experience during my stay at Hillsboro Beach Resort and feel compelled to share my feedback. The issues I encountered during my visit left me thoroughly dissatisfied. First and foremost, the lack of WiFi connectivity was a significant inconvenience. In this digital age, reliable internet access is crucial for both business and leisure travelers. As a business man I have to travel and enjoy my vacations while I’m still working on my computer. Unfortunately, the resort failed to provide a functional WiFi service, which greatly hindered my ability to stay connected and complete necessary tasks. Additionally, the recurring problem with non-functioning room keys was extremely frustrating. On multiple occasions, I found myself unable to access my room due to faulty keys. The lack of a backup system or prompt assistance from the staff left me stranded and unable to enjoy my stay to the fullest. The culmination of these issues reached its peak on one particular night when my partner and I were unable to go anywhere at night due to not having a key to open our room. Being confined to our room, unable to explore or enjoy the resort's amenities and surroundings, was a significant letdown and greatly impacted our overall experience. Could be better.

The hotel is well located. Ocean front. Our room had the tv on the side wall and was a huge tv so it was impossible to watch from the bed. There were no ceiling lights so the closet at night was completely dark. Nighstands lights are the only lights, for a bedroom that big is not enough. Restaurant was understaff so one night we were turned away for dinner because they can’t take care of more people (there were only 3 tables about 15 guests) Beach chairs are removed by 6 pm during summer even when you are paying a resort fee and sun is up until at least 8 pm. In general hotel needs more staff and a better interior designer for rooms.

Great place but hidden prices.

Well, I went and obviously did not read the whole outlined of how much I had to pay $25 a day for my car just to sit there which in the beginning when you’re reading it says free parking but they do charge you when you read the whole Info also resort fees were very expensive. My daughter did visit with dog , she lives in FLA but they did charge me $100. She stayed one night the air conditioner went out in the unit and I had a beautiful partial view. I wanted to have alone time with my daughter in a 2 bed and kitchen, and they moved us up to a floor with two bedrooms, and I could not have my time with her that I needed to mend. Because she stayed in the room that they gave her and kept ordering room service without my permission so with all that it cost me an extra $454.00. I needed time with her.

Wonderful boutique hotel perfectly situated between Lauderdale by the Sea and Boca. The hotel itself is great, and the service was top notch. Before arrival we got a personalized text asking us if we needed anything, like concierge. Each day we got the same thing. The valet was handy. The onsite restaurant was small, and the service was very personalized. You will feel special here and if I'm every in the area, I will stay here again. A note about room 502, it's directly facing the beach on the 5th floor. The unit is great, and could easily accomodate 2 sets of couples or 4 people, assuming they allow that.

Just what we needed. Easy, clean, homy, friendly . Even in rainy days we had the most fun and joy. Hope to be back again
