bad experience
The hotel did not have my paid reservation. The door to my floor was broken and I had to circle around to the other half of the hotel to get to my room. The access card card to my room did not work on the second day. No covers on the bed. Roaches.

Great location and charming character to the building. Stay was spoilt by the lack of cleanliness and cockroaches present in bathroom. I’ve stayed in hotels before in hot and humid climates and to be honest you can expect the odd insect etc. but this was just neglect of cleanliness. It’s a really shame as the hotel feels like it was once something special. .

Do not stay at this hotel!
The room we booked was not available, so given different rooms. The rooms smelled strongly of weed and were very dirty and run-down - nothing like the photos in the listing. Roaches in the bathroom and the porcelain sink was broken, causing water to leak onto the floor anytime it was used. Do not stay here! I'm surprised they are still in business.

Not what it looks like
Loud noises all night, bad smoke smell in hallway. Lots of people blocking outside doors open so non guest can come and go at all hours of the night. No blanket only one towel

Not organized at all
They didn’t have my room with two beds. They have two room that’s ok. But next day they removed all my things from one of the rooms because they didn’t have any records of it. They gave me a key for a room with someone there. Staff without any conunucation between each other. Hotel smells bad in the main lobby and stairs. Photos are not current hotel needs more cleaning. A lot noise in the hotel and no one to take care of it.

Stay away with this plan - specially with kids
This hotel is absolutely ridiculous, if you want to have an awful time, stay here, otherwise look forward with another hotel. I got to this hotel and they with no explanations said they had no rooms availability and I should by my own find another place to stay, after my flight got delayed, I got in Miami 1:00 AM with this very good news by a rude security. I had to walk 2 hours asking hotel by hotel if they have availability for walk-ins. Very awful experience, I really hope this hotel get what they deserve, that is bankrupt and at least hotels.com stop their partnership. I’ve been booking hotels with this company for years around the world and never had this experience before. I hope to get a refund at least. Stay away from this place.

While checking in, another guest offered me drugs and prostitutes (and offered to show pictures of the prostitutes whom he said were 18-19 years old). The front desk attendant did not appear surprised by the other guest’s offer at all. The walls are paper thin; it’s possible to hear specific conversations (as well as music) through the walls and I heard the doors to the hotel’s corridor opening and closing throughout night and early morning. The guy who offered prostitutes turned out to be my next door neighbor.
I also observed a live cockroach behind the sink. I shared all of these occurrences with hotel staff and asked to be refunded for the second night so I could move to another hotel but there was no immediate response except that the staff member said refunding would be up to the manager. I received no follow up contact. I felt very unsafe and uncomfortable throughout the first night and I did not stay for the second night of my two night trip.
There is a sign at the front desk stating as of April 1, the hotel will no longer rent rooms to guests whose address is Miami Beach. I believe this is an effort to reduce the rampant and brazen prostitution happening at the hotel and also perhaps to keep out local indigent people.

ROACHES, ROACHES AND MORE ROACHES. No soap. One small towel. Broken air conditioner. They rolled in a portable ac unit that was full of dust and looked moldy. Prime location in south beach. But disgusting cacaroaches running all over and scattering into the bed frame and furniture. I woke up with a spider or roach bite also. Nasty hotel.

Would never recommend this place!
The room looked nothing like the pictures, the bathroom was very run down and only had one set of towels, the stairs are very steep and there is no elevator so you had to carry your suitcases up the steep stairs yourselves.

The TV didn't work, there were holes on the floor, the towels were dirty and stained. The security guy made me feel unsafe and I read the reviews that he comes in in the middle of the night with his own key. I felt scared and very unsafe.

Besides the nice people working in the front you’re better off any where else in Miami. Cracks in the wall dirty/holes in the sheets and roaches running around on the floor and crawling on the walls. I don’t understand how places like this aren’t closed down due to some kind of inspection. The cheap costs the most. I would have rather slept outside with the homeless. The pictures of the hotel are really deceiving don’t be fooled.

First room dirty no ac second room told me door locks from inside no it doesn’t the door was broken some man entered my room in the middle of the night … the room with no access had window unit ground level anyone could easily come in … area had lots of mentally unstable people in street so for sure a safety concern … talked to man he didn’t seem to care still waiting on refund . No towels provided .. sheets only asked for more towels sheets was told he has none housekeeping gone .. refused to go to another room for any ..

I am terribly disappointed with the property .the room was all messy and dirty used napkins were lying on the bathroom counter top. Bedsheet has foul smell and dirty stains .
I checked in to the room and saw these things in room and immediately decided to leave the hotel. I demanded for return but the hotel denied my return. I am highly disappointed. On top of it it was not at all safe . Me and my wife felt very unsafe around people in that premises.

READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE YOU BOOK
First of all, the address they use is a taco restaurant, its around the corner not even visible from the address they use. They DO NOT answer the phones, so there is no way to ask directions. very frustrating. Parking for 2 nights was $100 extra. hallways smelled of weed and cigarettes, roaches crawling in the room, prostitute hanging by the gate. NO guests service, steep stairs, no offer of assistance with luggage. No continental breakfast as advertised No blankets, just a thin cheap sheet. 1 towel for 2 registered guests. There was a very loud fight under our window in the courtyard. we were woken up about 2am expecting gunshots - I expected more from Hotels.com. no way should they be promoting this place. I am disappointed that I used my earned credit from past stays on this DUMP

The bed sheets were clean, and the bathroom was cleanish. The building is old and smells a little strange, but if you’re just looking for a clean bed to sleep in for a cheap rate, then it’s a good deal. You’re getting what you’re paying for, don’t expect the Ritz.
It’s a great location close to the beach, and lots of good restaurants around.

The hotel was not exactly as pictured at time of booking but beds were comfortable and room was clean. Breakfast could use a refresher as it needs more appeal and accommodation. Beach towels, clean towels, and ice (without a bucket) given at request. It was basic but in a nice price range had nice ascetic views, was in nice close to everything area, and within walking distance to the Beach.

Spacious corner room 109 is highly recommended for its huge windows on two walls. Suggestion: hotel needs to extend reliable WIFI coverage to 109 and other rooms far from the server.

DO NOT STAY
Hotel was extremely dirty and gross. The flooring had missing pieces. We wiped the flooring with a towel provided by the hotel staff and the whole thing was almost dark brown from the amount of dirt on the floor.
When we approached the staff about the cleanliness of the hotel, he pretty much laughed and said his manager was unavailable.

Find another place
We have stayed at many places in south beach. This was the worst place. we didnt have blankets, the flooring was missing tiles. The place was run down. it was very late and we were tired otherwise we would of ran as fast as we could out of there.

Upon our arrival, the bed sheets were dirty; we called the front desk and told them to change everything, including the pillowcases. The bathroom door had a big hole in the back. We didn't spend much time there during the day but woke up the next morning, my kid and I had a horrible cigarette smell on our hair and realized that the pillows and the whole room smelled like cigarettes. They knew we had a small kid with us and still put us in a room with a cigarette smell impregnate. They offer a complimentary breakfast; avoid it if you don't want to get sick. Not clean, and some of the food was spoiled. We talked to the front desk, and maybe they will offer some discount on the over $200 we paid for one night, but not even a sorry.

Pictures online absolutely did not match what we saw. And we had 2 rooms. 1 just as bad as the other. Saw 4 cockroaches in our bathroom. Staff is never at the front desk. And when we did see someone, they didn’t seem to care. Will never stay here again. And this was way too expensive for what you get. Even if it is South Beach.

This hotel is very out to date and run down unfortunately. I wouldn’t recommended if you like clean hotels. The bed was very comfortable and the location was prime for restaurants, ocean drive and walkable to the beach but that’s about it.

Be Cautious
No parking space. Ww we’re advised to drive down three blocks to park. Customers restroom didn’t have any hand soap, sanitizer, nor paper towels, therefore, sanitation to me, cannot be a priority at that facility. I didn’t stay, I left.

Nothing like the pictures go somewhere else. The front desk was completely rude and they told me I had no room when I had confirmation of a receipt so they gave me 2 bedrooms with sheets as blankets. Completely disappointed in the price and the condition of this place.

Havana style stay
This hotel is very pleasant in the fact that it's
comfortable and clean. It is also very close to
Ocean drive and the beach.
The best part is that they provide you with beach chairs that are set up out on the beach. That is included with your stay as well as for beach towels. The breakfast is limited but not so bad from 8 to 10. It's not bad. People enjoyed amenities within and outside the hotel with the connecting restaurants gave guest 20% their food. I would definitely stay again but if your looking for crisp modern hotel keep an open mind as this place is nice.

This property was very dirty! The ground are not kept at all. It looks like the floora havent been washed in years. Mold on the walls . Dirty enterence . People live there! People pan handling. I am so disappointed. Minimum breakfast esp after the residents eat. . No wash clothes . Dirty smell in bathroom. Staff not attentive. At times nobody is at the feont desk for help. ..... yes you are close to a lot of the hot spots but dont waste your money here. You will be disappointed for the amount they charged. I felt like i was in a motel!

The room was very basic, which we expected for the price. We had a couple of problems during our stay, the television remote did not work nor the a/c and heater remote and the front desk attendant was not able to resolve either issue. There is no elevator, so we had to drag our luggage up very narrow steps to get to our 2nd floor room and back down again at check out.
The property is a very old hotel with a courtyard and that was very quaint which was like taking a step back into the past.

Love the location as you can walk to main point of interest as the Beach, south pointe and ocean drive. But even when It is not allowed to smoke pot on property, that is what smell from the moment I walked in and all the time but that is south beach. I get it.
Unfortunately, they gave me the wrong room as it was all dirty, smelly or under repair. They changed my room and well, not so good. Bed was comfy, safe box didn’t work, shower was dirty with dark and yellowish spot, door was broken, Floor looks dirty Inside and out of room. This hotel architecture and decoration gives you the cozy feeling but it is not well maintain giving you the worst impression. I hope they improve. If you plan to park in public parking lot half block away, you will pay $20 every 4 hours.

Expensive for little quality
Took forever to check-in. There was no one working the front desk for over 20 minutes. The rooms were spacious and the beds were nice. The bathroom wasn’t the worst but it definitely needs some updates to the shower as it never seemed clean. The towels smelled like vomit instead of bleach. Way too much money for the converted hotel from a hostel.

Meh-
I stayed here with my husband and two children the night before a cruise. Our initial impression of the hotel/courtyard was that it was a cute older hotel.
I would rate our room a 2/10 it worked for our needs (which was just to sleep) but I would not stay here again especially for what we paid. the ceiling was sagging, the floor was "wavy" literally!
Three positives we had were
1. the proximity to the beach
2. the fact that we didn't see any bugs.
3. the staff was friendly
if you need a place to sleep this will do it but don't get your hopes up.

My stay was horrible. Had to switch rooms due to bedbugs. The other rooms had roaches. They were no one else except a security and he couldn't do anything. I report it to from desk and all he said I am sorry. I sent an email to Expedia since January 29th and no one reach out to me as yet.

the pictures are definitely not updated. the worst hotel in south beach omg. staff inattentive. no clean towels. tv had 1 station accessible. everything is so ran down. nothing about the stay was pleasant at all. 0/10 would not recommend at all.

HORRIBLE STAY, HORRIBLE HOTEL
The hotel was NOTHING like it was displayed online. I was so disturbed behind this. When we check in we were changed from room to room, there was water on the floor, the air conditioner wasn't working. The odor in the VERY SMALL rooms was overwhelming. WE had to carry our luggage up two flights of stairs without any assistance from the hotel staff. Breakfast was suppose to be included but, as dirty and nasty as the place was I would never eat there. This was the WORST stay I ever had in my vacationing life. NEVER AGAIN WILL I STAY OR RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE.

The photos versus what you actually get are completely different. The place was filthy, carpets dirty, random people would come into the hotel and get into fights and domestic disputes. The room I received had black mold in the ceiling of the bathroom, cockroaches near the bed night stand, and wings of a bug on the bed sheets. The door to the bathroom was broken at the bottom, and there was a break in the wall, as if someone had punched the wall. The carpets in the hallways were super dirty and stained, and it smelled like smoke and weed. My partner and I did not stay there and asked for a refund due to the issues, however, they only refunded half. The manager was not helpful or supportive. I highly recommend NOT to go to this hotel. Very dirty and unsafe.

Wonderful Art Deco building and suites. Lack on staff on site and the fact that they have the phone ringer off so when I call they don't answer is incredibly frustrating.

The building was in terrible condition, the carpets stained and the hallways reeked of marijuana. The walls and ceilings were cracked mouldy. We had to get up get a cab at 430am. There was a man sleeping on the couch in the lobby and 2 other men walking around the lobby aimlessly clearly high on drugs. I had my kids with me and felt very uncomfortable and at times unsafe. There were a few couples walking in and out of rooms. The women looked like prostitutes and the men looked high on drugs as well. It was a terrible experience and the cost to stay, especially given the environment is ridiculous

Absolutely horrible. Literally bleach on blood stains of carpet. Worse than any hostel you could ever imagine and $400 per night. Should be condemned.
