The stay was fine. Side table lamp shade looked like had been in a fight. Bed pillows were very small. Shower mat got slippery when wet. Dangerous situation in a handicap room.

Horrible.
I booked this on hotels.com a few months ago. We got there and not only did they say we didn’t have a reservation ( I showed them my confirmation for hotels.com) but they said they were sold out and didn’t give us a room. And were nonchalant. “Oh well sorry” they said they have lots of problems with hotels.com

Stay here every year while visiting family
$120 for our furry friends to stay w/us for 2 nights, seems a bit crazy. We haven’t stayed in the winter before; there was a pile of 3 feet of snow right in front of the opening where your pets (usually) can stretch, run & potty. No where to go accept for the icy parking lot. Sidewalks needed attention; I had to shuffle in order not to slip & wipe out.
That being said, the staff was pleasant & welcoming. Room was comfortable.

Not best brand for the money.
I reserved 3 nights. I assumed it was going to be a normal chain hotel experience because it was a Wyndham property but it felt more like a second rate hotel experience. I checked in 12-30 and stayed 1 night but did not have good sleep and for the rate (115 a night/ comparable to other chains) was not satisfied with the property. At 9:30 am I talked to manager to cancel my remaining 2 nights. He said they could not let me out of my prepaid reservation. Hotels said it is up to property owner. They could not even print me a receipt or explain why I had to pay for all 3 nights when I wanted to leave. My room was not conducive to a good sleep, the bathroom energy auto sense light was attached to a very loud fan. Between that and the noisy heater sleep was tough. Room would get too hot or too cold and throughout the night I had to turn heater on/ off.TV offering minimal. Breakfast adequate, but ( on a Sunday) stopped at 9. We were eating ours so I did not miss out but right at 9 they cleared the food even as a few stragglers walked in. That did not feel hospitable to us. The manager DID offer to give me another room but I think this is the general condition of the hotel and not just that things were in disrepair only in my room.I moved to a different brand hotel, paid $5 less a night and had a much much better experience in size of the room, quality of the breakfast, quality of the service, TV channels, and all the infrastructure such as the bathroom lights and the heating.

Our room was clean and comfortable. The free breakfast was less than desirable. There was no coffee at 7:30am when my husband went to get us some. He let the front desk person know and she had to get coffee made. Then an hour later when we went to ear breakfast the eggs and other items were empty and once again the front desk person needes to be informed. Even though the problems were addresses it seemed ridiculous to us that these basic breakfast staples were not kept up with.

Poor Customer Service
Hotel charged me for stay even though already paid for through Hotels.com. Called hotel, explained it twice to someone not understanding, left call back info and have not heard from them. Poor customer service.

The bed was really comfy. The linens smelt fresh. Looks like they need to buy some new bath towels though. It was dark in the bathroom. Thought it was too expensive for what you got. Overall the bed was nice and the TV was nice.

Went for a long weekend, perfect placement between Illinois railroad museum and Volo auto museum. We spent a full day at each. Obtained a good night's rest before heading out on the long drive home.

It was old, It smelled like dirty gym socks, the room was not worth the money we paid for it, we asked the guy at the desk how to get somewhere and he said he wasn't from there and didn't know how to get anywhere. The room was humid, we had the thermostat on the air conditioner set at 72 to try and get the humidity out of the air and that didn't work there was no fan or light in the shower, other than the staff, it was old and run down. Would NOT recommend this place

The hotel was rundown, any work done on the hotel amateur. Hotel and unpleasant odor and the floors were filthy. My wife put on a brand new pair of Night socks. And she showed me the bottoms they were almost black.

Old but clean
We had no problem checking in. It was fast, friendly and quick. It is an older BW and in need of updates. The breakfast was good but not a whole lot of choices. The pancake machine wasn't working. There was enough to fill you up but very lame compared to the BW I have been to through the years.

There's a roadhouse with loud live music behind this Inn. I won't stay there again on a weekend. The little area for taking dogs is sweet & private. I wish there had been a tub.

We arrived to check in for our reservation and they told us they didn’t have our reservation and no available rooms. They looked back and said the manager cancelled our reservation in June. We did not receive any cancellation notice from either the hotel or Expedia. They did not offer to help us find a room someplace else. It was a terrible experience. We had made the reservation in May.

Why not stay here
Fast easy check in. Could use better lighting in bathroom. Room was clean and quiet. Breakfast was good, although they ran out of breakfast potatos and milk. No one was around to ask for more.

Horrible stay- we had a man come banging on our door at 9pm. Turns out he was the manager. Didn’t bother to call let us know he was coming up to the room. Apparently because we showered they had a leak below us. He was aggressive which made me and my friend uncomfortable. As females it felt unsafe to have to grown men outside the door demanding to dine in. After he checked the tub I told him how unprofessional he was. He didn’t have a name tag I’d anything. Which then he got loud and felt he was wrong. Zero stars for this place.

Credit card compromised at this location
Very upset that I received a call from my bank, at 9pm the day we checked in saying my credit card was compromised for $299. I did not use my card for anything else but giving it to the desk clerk for so called incidentials.

Double-charged!
Booked my stay through hotels.com and prepaid well in advance. This hotel then proceeded to charge me for the stay again! What’s worse is management made no effort to correct the mistake in a timely manner. Soured an otherwise good experience.

I had tod to ask to have my jacuzzi tub cleaned twice because it was full of dog hair once i turned the jets on. All they did once i complained was offer me half off my next stay. I dont think i want to stay somewhere this filthy again.

Pretty Good and Would Stay There Again
We read a few negative reviews but decided we'd come to our own conclusion about this hotel. After staying there after a long flight in from California, I can say that the BW Woodstock Inn is a nicely appointed and comfortable hotel that is also very conveniently located to downtown Woodstock. Beds were comfortable, the heater produced heat, and the towels weren't scratchy. There were a few "stains" on the wall, but upon closer examination, these were paint touch up that didn't quite match the color. Our one complaint was the breakfast; those eggs were 7-day old, truck stop under the heat lamp quality. That being said, it was a complimentary breakfast and the coffee wasn't bad!

Very disappointing experience
Disappointing experience. Advertised pool for use, but was closed our entire stay and the check-in clerk never addressed it until we specifically asked. Room was relatively clean in general, but our blankets had holes in them and there was a used condom on the floor behind one of the nightstands. There was also an incident during our second night regarding one of the immediate neighboring guests that the police had to get involved: loud disruptive behavior throughout the entire night all the way till morning, guest apparently invited 8 other people to party in their room, drugs, alcohol, and firearm involved confirmed by the police. All things considered, the manager was friendly and professional, but there was no offer of compensation.

Unfortunately there's not many positive things I can say about this hotel. It seems like nothing has been updated in a VERY long time. We booked a room with a jetted tub. While I understand that may add to the humidity of the room, there was just a very damp feeling the entire time. Before we ever even used the tub. A lot of people stayed there for my sister's wedding and everyone had the same critique. It was like a humid basement. Also, it SMELLED like a musty basement. We went out and brought febreeze and it didn't help. Last thing is that cleanliness overall was subpar. Our bathroom had black colored mold/mildew in all corners of the shower and in the walls of the bathroom. Not a good experience overall.

Overpriced, no frills hotel
This hotel was no frills. Our room was very quiet, one of the quietest we've ever stayed in, the ONLY huge plus! Upon pulling into the parking lot, it looks deserted. The fridge in our room did not seal and immediately speaking to the front desk about the issue, was told they could fix, or replace it in the morning, moving rooms was not an option. They fixed it the next day about 3pm. There were stains on the chair in our room, as well as a huge splattered stain on the wall. We were on the 1st floor and our roomS were sticky and damp. The carpet was even damp and had random bumps underneath it. Turning the air down to 66, or opening the window didn't help alleviate the problem. There is a "bar" with cheap drinks. Although, the front desk staff had to unlock the mini fridges and only accepted cash as payment. But, $10 for 3 beers and a seltzer, what a deal! The breakfast was basic, 2 hot items, a pancake maker, toast, bagels, some fruit and yogurt. Downfall, breakfast is only served from 6-9am. That is an early end time for a weekend! Overall, the hotel served its purpose, but I was reminded why I don't choose to stay at Best Westerns when we travel. The hotel is worth about $80 a night, not the $150 we paid with the wedding hotel rate we received.

Room was not serviced for 5 of the 6 days and only on request. Even then the bed was untoucheded and was unmade every day. Breakfast even free was of a very poor standard.

Staying for the night!
This hotel is in a great location if you are staying for anyone playing at the Niko's Red Mill Tavern. The beds are not comfortable at all. Rooms could use some updating. They do have a very small game room with slots but it is behind the check in desk which is weird.

I arrived and the registration person said I did not have a room registered under my name and they were sold out. It was my class reunion. Nothing he could do. I had to travel to another town and stay at another hotel and pay an overcharged rate because no rooms. It was a very low budget hotel. I will not use Expedia again. I hope I can get my money back.

Not worth the money.
We stayed for 5 nights and our room was only cleaned twice. Poor customer service. We had to use the washer and dryer, but no laundry detergent was available to purchase. The dryer left our clothes wet, so we had to hang them to dry.

Our room had a walk-in shower but no slip resistant in it! I slid several times in the shower each time. They didn't take our trash out of the room 2 of the four days we stayed. However, it the staff was very pleasant and accommodating when needed.

Good value for the money
Everyone working is very friendly. It’s an older building, and it looks like the owners care and keep things clean and well maintained. The staff at the front desk were both very friendly and helpful. This hotel is a good value and while it is an older building, it is a good place to stay.
My only suggestion is that some of towels were worn out and should be replaced.

Friendly staff and a good breakfast
Friendly staff and a good breakfast. Comfy beds. There was a slight musky smell in our room... the air conditioner was leaking condensation onto the carpet.

I liked the place to take your dogs and specialty items in the breakfast area. The whole place was rather dingy and had to ask for towels daily, never got the proper amount. Needed to ask for bed linens for the pull out which was pretty beat up.

Disgusting. Dirty, stained, broken. The first room we were given appeared to be the scene of a crime, with doors ripped off the hinges and lock ripped off the door. We reserved for two nights but left immediately after the first one. Property manager seemed dejected and apologetic. Not sure what tragedy this hotel has suffered but it is not suitable for a family trip. Buyer beware.

Could be better. Didn't sleep well.
I've done a few travel stays, and this is the first hotel I've had a bed that is way past it's life. I can feel the spring, and the edge were a person would sit, the spring really gave in. I was afraid to pull the sheet/pad off to see what type of shape the mattress would be. I did not sleep well at all at night due the discomfort of the mattress.
Breakfast was inconsistent. First morning breakfast, the pancakes was really thin, so it didn't get cooked on the top part. The biscuits was really dried out (pan too hot?). Second morning, there was no potatoes. There was biscuits, but not much of the sausage gravy. Also, there's a steam pan that would of been other hot breakfast items such as bacon or sausage?
Overall, the place is clean, and staff were friendly. I plan on being in the area again, maybe give them a chance again if they do some improvements?

Room clean and comfortable, hot breakfast a total waste. Ran out of food and coffee early, and quality not good.
Suggestion - give guests a voucher for family restaurant next door. We ate there the second morning and food was great. Other option would be to stick to a continental convenience breakfast.
Room nice and clean, but common areas could use a good deep spring cleaning. Staff helpful.

Overall this hotel needs a major facelift, it’s falling apart and there is visible damage all over the building and our room. The bed was the hardest bed I have ever slept on, and the room was very noisy between the AC unit needing repair, people on the hallway, and everything else. It was also very dirty, staff did not wear masks or take any Covid prevention measures.
