You get what you pay for
The room was good but everything else was just ok at best. The breakfast was meant for children only because adults wouldn't eat what they had available. The jacuzzi was ok but the bar and steps down into it could use some maninachine. The pool was ice cold like they use ice water to constantly fill it. We were in room 214 witch is in the middle of the hotel so the 3rd floor is where the dogs go and for some reason we could hear them run up and down the floor above us both days i had to call and complain about the noise because it was waking us up the first day it stopped but the second day it didn't I just fell asleep after 1am and it was still going on. The outside noise was pretty drowned out but you could still hear some traffic. Overall you get what you pay for and id stay again but know to get 1st or 3rd floor back room

Couple staying with a dog for a long weekend
First off in case anyone is worried this is in a good area with many businesses and restaurants around. The Staff was wonderful, very nice and friendly not just at check-in but every day saying Hello and asking if we needed anything. We booked a pet room (yes there is a daily pet fee of $35 but they gave us a discount for staying a few nights so that was great!) and we weren’t expecting it to be nice but were pleasantly surprised, it was nice & clean and didn’t smell like pets, bonus had laminate flooring (no carpet) which was probably why ;). The back of the bathroom door was scratched up I’m sure from previous pets being kept in there but we just let them know right away so that our dog didn’t get blamed for it. The refrigerator didn’t work, we didn’t need it so no biggie but we let them know and I’m sure they would have done something about it or moved us if there was an issue. We had a very comfortable stay and will stay again when visiting family in the KC area.

Once I arrived to the property the guy behind the counter told me the only way I could check in (after I made the reservation and paid online) was if I made a $100 CASH ONLY deposit. I asked if I could pay with a card and he told me no. CASH ONLY. I don’t carry cash on me and he told me no cards allowed. I had to find an ATM in the middle of the frigid cold in Kanas City with my 7 year old son just to get my room. I’ll NEVER book with Best Western again. Oh and on top of that, the heat in my room didn’t work properly and couldn’t keep up. It was -9 degrees outside I might add. My son and I had to pull the blankets off the other bed and sleep together just to keep warm. Worst experience with a hotel in my entire life.

Visitor Beware
The SureStay Plus by Best Western in Blue Springs looks great online, however, when we arrived, we were anything but impressed. The parking lot had about 2” of ice built up which caused us to slip and fall multiple times trying to get from our car to the hotel. Once we entered the hotel, we were told that we would be on the 3rd floor, which is the pet friendly floor, despite us not having any pets. The walk to our room was absolutely disgusting due to the overwhelming odor of kitty litter, and we were disturbed by the noise of a dog barking on multiple occasions. In our room, there was dirt in the bed as well as a broken dresser drawer, and the heater would not turn off the entire time we were there resulting in us having to sleep with the window open in -10* temperatures just to not overheat. Be sure to read the description as well, as the hotel does not include a comforter or anything beyond bed sheets. Had we not been so uncomfortably hot, we would have been extremely cold due to the lack of bedding. Do yourself a favor, and pick a different hotel to stay in.

Not worth the price!
The hotel is run down. There was hair clogging the drain when we took a shower. The beds were uncomfortable. They will add a city tax and charge you for additional guests. Wasn't worth the price.

I was asked a to pay to be able to check in early. After I was told there was a room available. But I had to pay an early checkin fee. When I said I will just come back in 1.5 hours the price came down. I still declined. I have never been asked to pay to check in early. If a room isn’t available no big deal but this felt not quite right.

This is a convenient hotel for after a Chiefs game and has reasonable rates. I've stayed there several times. I like staying on the main floor with a king bed but evidently I booked the wrong room and got 2 queens. The ice machine on 3rd floor was out of order so the one one the 2nd floor ran out before I could fill my small bucket. Had to go to the main floor. Not a huge deal but overall it was icing on the cake for a suck day.

I very much liked the staff whether in person or on the phone. They were more than helpful, they were personable. I felt I was staying "in their house" as a welcome guest. Breakfast was wonderful. The rooms were clean and quiet for sleeping. The entire facility felt safe and comfortable. Will be there again when I go to KC

The room was extremely dirty, I got a big red bump on my leg after sleeping in the bed. The doors are super thing and dont fit the door frame properly so you can hear every little sound and there were lots of them. Avoid this place if you can

The staff at SureStay Plus were so kind and professional. They waved our pet fee, had breakfast all set up and ready to go in the morning and even stated they would keep the hot tub open later for us if we wanted. Unfortunately, the hot tub was scummy and dirty, the hotel room was in desperate need of an update/thorough cleaning and the mattresses were wildly uncomfortable and probably need to be replaced. We spent quite a bit of money to stay in a hotel instead of our camper van for a night for a shower and comfortable bed, but probably would have been better off just staying in the van. I feel bad writing this because the staff were so wonderful, but the place itself needs some work.

I called to say that I would be late checking in when i first checked at 10 he said the room was just getting clean 10pm mind you. The room has a stail stinch to it. I laid my own cover over thiers. When it came time to shower no HOT WATER went to front desk. He says you can use the hot tub!!! Hot tub to bathe!!!???? Im checking out mind you im here for a funeral warming water up in the microwave. And now he has the audacity to say they'll be here to fix it at 10 well its 812am and i will be outta here by 9!! The quality even of stay is terrible nowa days just terrible!! I need a particial/refund

Shower head sprayed everywhere, toilet was extremely loud when flushed for a very long time, bed was very loud when turning or sitting, lightbulbs were missing, floorboards were coming up. Ice machine was broken, pool & hot tube were dirty. Breakfast wasn't very good. But the staff were very, very nice.

Not very clean at all, whole 3rd floor smelt of cigarettes, stains on sheets, walls and tub. Asked for $100 deposit upon arrival and when I tried to hand over my card said it was cash only?? Very disappointing as we booked here because they are pet friendly but I will be booking elsewhere from now on.

The hot tub doesn't work. There is way too much chlorine in the pool. Our room had obvious water damage around the window area and ceiling. Only one tv of the 2 worked. The juice machine was out of order and looked like it had been for awhile. No water pressure in the shower. $151 on a Saturday night w taxes. I won't stay here again.

The front desk woman/manager was super nice, but the property is not great. Had to get help with my key card twice upon check in because it wasn’t working. The room smelled like pee, there were weird cleaning things like urinal sponges in the shower that had green spots on them and hair on the walls of the shower, drain and in the sink. There were also crumbs of something on the floor. I booked a pet friendly room, but I still expected it to be clean. Breakfast had limited options and was basically cleaned out by 7:30 (supposed to be from 6-9). Elevator is super loud and moves slowly. Saw broken glass in the parking lot like a shattered car window so I assume that is an issue. It’s right off the highway which is a convenient location, but obviously presents its own issue.

Will not stay again
The hot tub didn’t work. Some of the staff were awesome and some not so much. A vehicle got broken into and they didn’t want to call the police. They charged me more than Hotels said they would. There is only a 2 hour window for breakfast and there wasn’t always enough of everything. They charged my card twice so I had to wait for the pending money to be returned. There are some wonderful hotels in the area I recommend going to one of those.

Great value for the money
Just looking for a place to sleep for the night, so stopped here because of price and therefore expected to be disappointed, but it's quite nice. The hot tub and pool is a surprise for a hotel at this price point. Good mattress and pillows, friendly staff, decent breakfast offerings.

The lasy that checked us in was very friendly. Room was very warm when we got there. Took a while to cool down. The carpet needs replaced. Only a desk chair to sit on and it was filthy. Place definitely needs updated.

ADDITIONAL FEES for everything! We wanted to check a bit early, $30 fee. We waited. Our reservation was for 2 adults and one child. ADDITIONAL CHARGE after check out for $30 for 2 additional children, although children are supposed to stay free for 12 and under!! We did have 1 additional child due to the late hour after the concert. The maintenance of the rooms are sub par. The floors, trim, doors, and furniture are all in need of replacement not just patchy “repairs”. We reserved a double queen room; the beds were not queen, they were standard full size.The breakfast was something to else. Mostly frozen to microwaved product making everything a rubbery overcooked mess. Put your your money towards a chain that cares for their property and customers.

The water quality at this location is very poor. The water was very "soft" and felt like you couldn't rinse any of your soap off of your body using it. The pressure was also pretty poor but not a huge issue. For the price, it was worth it though. Just wish the water had been better!

Check in staff not friendly. They did help us correct a mix up with dates on the app. Breakfast was gravy no biscuits. Milk was spoiled. Waffle mix was mostly water. I could understand if it was just a fluke but stayed here last fall and had the same problems. Will not stay again.

I travel a lot so I've stayed at some good and unfortunately some bad places. This one I rated a 5 star because I had a wonderful stay here! They are kind, courteous and they did all they could to make this a pleasurable stay! They have cameras for the parking lots which I really appreciate and the rooms were very clean along with the rest of the hotel. The breakfast was nice and fresh and they kept everything stocked, it was just a really good stay, I give them a two thumbs up for sure!

It was a mess as soon as we checked in. I had two rooms reserved one for my husband and I and the other one for my son and his family. Told them at the front desk that I was paying for one room and my son was paying for the other room. Needless to say the charged my cats for both rooms but charged my sons card for the deposit. Went down the next morning after realizing what happened it still
Took a good 20 minutes to get to get the issue resolved and they gave me cash for the charge for the other room. The pool water was so

Close to the toilet it was hard to get in the bathroom. Beds were harder than normal. All in all not a good experience. We travel quite a bit and this is one of the worst hotels we have stayed at.

The workers were so pleasant! But the property in general could’ve been better. We got this hotel specifically for the indoor poor but the pool was FREEZING you couldn’t even put your feet in. We woke up after the first night and had bites ALL over us. My son who is 2 couldn’t sleep because he would be up scratching all night. We were supposed to get a discount but haven’t seen that go through yet. I’m just disappointed because we spent $500 and honestly did not enjoy our stay at all.

This is nothing fancy which we expected, however the room was neat and clean. The agent at check in was helpful and friendly. The breakfast area could have been cleaner. People did not see the bigger garbage can and continued to use the overflowing small one causing people to just leave items that needed to be discarded on the table. Maybe put the bigger can more in sight.

We loved the hotel and the staff was super awesome. The facility was clean and the breakfast was a good variety and hot and fresh! Although the hotel needs to update the time on the hot tub and pool times. 1-9pm, When you come in to town for leisure it would be nice to soak in a hot tub in the am to relax driving legs. Usually if you are in visiting you are gone from the hotel during 1-9pm.

Paid for 2 Queens, got 2 Doubles. The pool was freezing, the hot tub luke warm with no jets, and chunks of paint was chipping off into the pool. It stunk because of the diffuser the front desk had blasting 24/7 and the staff was rude to another guest in our presence making us both so uncomfortable!

Check in-room was reserved as pet space due to attendance at the local dog show. I checked in and was told I did not have a pet room, even though my friend spoke with the manager and fixed the issue, asked if my dog was a service dog and then my room was up charged for the change to a pet room when I had already reserved a pet room, tub and sink did not drain so I stood in shin deep water taking a shower, the shower rod was attached to a 4 x4 and the tub spigot came out of the wall when you turned on the water, used shampoo and conditioner bottles were there for my use and the gap between the door and frame was so spacious it was used as a night light. Day of checkout my dog has to go out, it is 3 am. Come back to my room and key doesn’t work to get in room. Go to front desk and advised my key isn’t working. I’m told you check out today that’s why- - - IT IS 3 AM!! Got card reactivated and get a knock on my door at 8 am - housekeeping! REALLY!?? Check out is at 11! Not a happy customer.

Eric really enjoyed the pool & hot tub. He got stuck in Kansas City for the weekend when his rig broke down just outside of KC. This hotel was perfect for him and they treated him top notch & was reasonably priced!

I liked that they offered a room with both a king and a queen bed. Smart tv's included Netflix, Hulu and more.
Property needs remodel. Ceiling had water damage above our shower. Towels were small and thin. Water temperature for shower and sink were not moderated. Could not turn down scalding water temp. Room heater did not keep us warm our first night. Did not warm up until our second night. Indoor pool was not heated. Outside temp was 31 F. Safety rail by hot tub was wobbly.

Racist and terrible stay
This place is completely racist and me and my wife think they stole my wallet.
On the 2nd day of our stay when me and my fiancé worked up we noticed 3 charges on our card and reported our cards stolen. After we requested surveillance and we were told that we would be able to get the next day.
The next day when we woke up we talked to the gm which when the racism started. We requested the surveillance and was told it didn’t work anymore and that we had to now pay an deposit for our service animal. Which we mentioned to the lady the first night and she approved our service animal stay.
The gm proceeded to imply we don’t get our deposit back and told us to get off the property. We didn’t so he proceeded to call the police. After doing so we go with that police and mentioned them what had happened and they told the gm to give us our deposit back, after the general manager implied we never returned and mentioned that we probably stole the wallet from someone else. This was the worst experience I’ve ever experienced and I’m completely shaken up from this.

They advertised an indoor pool, but it was freezing cold. It was very disappointing for the kids. The elevator was not clean, and our beds sunk and were not very firm. The room was clean and the customer service was really good.

The room we stayed in seemed to be designed for the people who were very short. The bathroom cabinet came just barely above the knees. The manager just automatically assumed we smoked, when we requested a non-smoking room, and the sheets on the bed were clean but stained.

a Hidden Gem
The exterior is not exciting, not bad just nondescript, but once inside the facility is clean, the staff are friendly. Our room was great - we got the king/queen bed option. Plenty of room and the beds are comfortable. Breakfast is a hot one and not just carbs as so many hotels have. The indoor pool was freezing but it is Missouri in February so of course. The hot tub was nice and hot though. Plenty of restaurants close by, a gas station with adult beverages is in easy walking distance. Quite pleased with this facility.

Me and my family stayed here this weekend and it was and overall ok stay, was really disappointed because we wanted to go swiminng and the pool was cold as ice my kids couldnt even swim because it was so cold. We had to just use the hot tub so that was disappointing. They need to check the temperature of the water. The door in our bathroom in our room was really hard to shut needs fixed. I would say overall it was ok

Comfortable but safety needs an upgrade
The bathroom was huge so big another bed could fit in it. The tub/shower was extremely slippery they need something on the tub and then have tile on the outside which made it worse. Fire alarms went off in the morning and the lady on duty said it was a false alarm. I smelt smoke while walking down the stairs and 4 fire trucks arrived with many police officers. There was people just calmly sitting at the breakfast area not evacuating. The hotel is nearby lots of restaurants and stores. Also convenient to the interstate.

Staff was never at front desk. Wifi was non existent. Did not accept support animal - still charged fees. Room keys did not work - had to get them replaced 6 times - after waiting long periods of time for staff to show up. Bed sheets were dirty. No one was there to check us out, never received a copy of the bill. Room was run down. Fees were higher than listed on website- was told not their fault website was not updated - still charged higher fees. Would not return

Decent place but disappointed
We stayed 1 night with our dog. Had a pet fee of $35. He had a pee accident on the white comforter.... They then charged us $55 on our card and didnt explain until I called them. Dont have white sheets and comforters!!!!! This place was in a nice part of town, beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good with options. Took over 30 minutes to get into our room as key wouldnt work. Our room was pet friendly but was dirty in places.

The rooms were clean but their maintenance crew could use some work. So many things that looked like they just slapped things together. Outlet covers screwed to tight and broken, drywall tape in the ceiling cracked and pulling away. The hot tub was only a hot tub in the sense that it was a tub and the water was somewhat hot. The jets didn’t work and when we asked about them the guy had no idea that their should have been jets. The housekeeping staff kept bugging us, even when we told them we were fine and didn’t need anything. The front desk clerk was friendly enough and the beds were comfortable.

The first night, we stayed in a very nice, comfortable room on the first floor. The desk clerk was freiendly. We ended staying an additional night. We were in a second floor room that had not been remodeled, but the desk clerk that night was nosey, rude and tried to do two things which irritated me: Keep either my ID or my credit card, and wanted a $100 cash deposit. I refused both requests and he didn't push the matter.

This was our first and last time staying at this property. They charged me additional $80 for my children. I have never had this happen to me anywhere else i have stayed. Showers were cold. They changed pool times while we were there. We never used the pool. Breakfast was always out of something. All around worst stay we have had staying in KC.

The front desk staff was great. The free breakfast was filling. The location was close to everything including the stadiums and right off the interstate. Cleanliness was good. The only real issue was housekeeping had to ask for supplies a few times.

Staff is amazing and very friendly. Room and property is clean and well maintained. Would definitely stay here again if we are passing through.

Nice clean with good staff. Structure is poorly built. Must have had bad contractors do the work. Much of the drywall was badly cracked and there appears to be much structural settling.
