Good, inexpensive place to stay
When we got here the computer was down and we couldn't check in. We went to dinner and when we returned we were all set. The breakfast was included and it was typical but lots of choices. Staff were nice. No problem having a dog. There's a pool but we didn't have enough time.

Great place for the price . The bed was amazingly comfortable! The room was a tad small but we didn’t need a lot of space. The breakfast, as are most, was okay but the coffee was freshly ground! That’s never happened before. All in all, we’ll be back!

We arrived after 3pm check in time and there were literally 2 cars in the parking lot. We were told our room wasn’t ready and we’d have to wait until it was clean. When I pointed out that no one else was there and asked if they really had no clean rooms, the person told me they did but that the rooms were already assigned and ours wasn’t ready. That is awful customer service and clearly spelled out that her comfort was a higher priority than guest comfort.

We originally had reservations at another hotel but the heater on their indoor pool wasn’t working so we came here. I’m so glad we did! The continental breakfast was a feast and the employees were all so friendly. Definitely will be back!!

At 5 AM I was woken up by the stomping and what sounded like furniture being moved in the room above mine. I called the front desk but there was no answer. I finally went downstairs and couldnt find any staff. I was later able to determine that there was only one person on duty and she was preparing the breakfast at the time. There was no one to deal with the noise and I wasn't able to sleep past 5. The hotel should have means to assure guests behave.

Front Desk staff was very courteous. However it was hard to sleep as other guests were noisy playing music loud next to me and you could hear guests above walking around not sure if it was because of the floor. Also the shower had hair on the little bench.

Reliable clean and convenient
Stayed here one night while passing through with family. Everything was in excellent condition and clean. This is a huge step up from chain motels which oftwn have inconsistent standards for their franchisees. First time staying at an Avid, and will look for these again.

We were in an ADA accessible room with a roll in shower. After showering, the water did not drain properly and the whole bathroom floor flooded. When we called the front desk to alert them and asked to move rooms since it was now wet and sticky, we were told they had no other rooms available. When we asked if a team member could at least mop up the bathroom, we were told we could come get towels from the front desk because they only had one member on staff and she had to stay at the desk. It was unsanitary and frustrating.
Additionally, the blinds in our room didn’t work and we couldn’t shut them for privacy or to block sunlight.

The staff members were very pleasant and warm.
The cleanliness of the room was great.
Grab bars in the tub, hand-held sprayer — excellent
Liked the electronically operated shades. Good coverage of the "blackout" shade.
The room was a little Spartan. I didn't go for the hooks instead of a closet. The bathroom was so big that the room clearly had space for a closet. I realize no closet is an economy, but our clothes shouldn't be a design element of the room.
I like no-pile, office-style carpet in a hotel room, but the matting wasn't cold and probably keeps down the dust.
More caffeinated black tea, please, as in English Teatime REGULAR — all the English Teatime you had Sat morning was decaf.

Staff were very friendly. Rooms and bathrooms were clean. Very good connection with wifi and TV - I was able to easy cast from my smartphone to TV. Nice options for breakfast.24/7 complementary coffee and tea.

We have stayed at this property before with only a few issues. Our recent stay was less than pleasant. Upon arrival to our room, it was dirty. Floors very visibly dirty, bathroom and shower dirty with hair and wet foot prints all over the floor. Food was left in the refrigerator. We asked for this to be cleaned while we were out. Did not happen. No hot water for shower second night. Toasters did not work at breakfast and food was limited. Water stopped altogether on checkout morning. Voiced our concerns on checkout. Desk staff seemed sympathetic but they clearly could do nothing to help us. Guess we are on the search for a new hotel as we stay in the area 4-5 times a year.

Find solution for water pressure!!!
Front desk was very helpful printing our tickets for the train, Breakfast as expected, snack food. Very reasonable price. Very disappointed in water pressure. Husband had to take a sink bath because no water pressure, just a drip from shower and sink had a little more pressure. Washed and rinsed his hair with water in a cup from sink. NOT GOOD!

Close to I 81 but away from the noise of Highway or city streets. Great Parking and Clean Comfortable Room.Wonderful checkin staff even when the printer had glitches they kept the customers happy with light banter.

The 2 ADA rooms we were given were amazing for the older people in our party. Extra wide rooms/bathrooms made them excellent for their canes/walkers.
Breakfast and gym were just right. Will definitely book more nights at this property.

The lobby was amazing. Went up to room, got off the elevator and I thought I was at another older hotel. Wall we all scuffed and dented like someone played bumper cars with the carts. For us the room was too small. No plastic dirty clothes bag (I guess they are saving the environment). No microwaves or ice buckets, those were in the lobby. It’s a very bare basic room, like a college room. We had the handicap room with walk in shower. The bottom of that shower on the outside was filthy, we did inform the front desk. The hot water was at a trickle and my husband said the shower was barely lukewarm. After driving 17 hours all I wanted was a nice hot shower. I didn't even shower but tried to clean up in the sink. We told the front desk and she said they knew about it and had the plumber out 3 times but couldn’t find the problem.
The bed was very comfortable and the room quiet. Other than that I don’t think this kind of super low key hotel is for us and will not stay at that kind of hotel again.

The rooms are small, but clean and mostly well-maintained. One of the lights did not work. The guest above us had their bass up high, so sleeping was difficult. Their breakfast is really basic. Most of their options are prepackaged junk, but they did offer a mediocre omelet. The beds are comfortable enough, and the air conditioner works well. The blinds are good at keeping out the light. Overall a good hotel.

Finally Got Off I-81
Stayed here on a Saturday night on the way from Asheville to Philadelphia. Was out the next morning. Didn't use the pool or have breakfast. Room and staff were fine. A little pricey for a no frills hotel, but it was Saturday, and seemed in line with the other hotels in the area. Saw two deer in the parking lot in the morning.

The young person at the front desk was personable, intelligent and informed. She greeted each new arrival as an honored guest. If I ran an inn, I'd want to hire her.

Quick overnight stay for an extended trip off the interstate. Seems new and very clean and eco-friendly. Breakfast was okay, but the coffee was excellent. Staff was kind. Room was comfortable.

I had a wonderful stay at the Avid. However, the lady with an island accent that checked us in was rude, obnoxious and had a bad attitude with poor customer service. She was very short and abrupt with us.

The room was very clean, comfortable and modern. The bed was super comfy and they provide both soft and firm pillows, which was a nice touch. The room was small but the space was used really well and we had room for everything we needed. It was right off the highway, which made it a perfect stop on our road trip, but the room was quiet.

I would like to suggest guest service training for the members of the front desk team. "What's up?" is not the way you greet an arriving guest. On a positive note, the "Breakfast Lady" on 5.14.23 was phenomenal and provided excellent service.
