grate hotel
a nice hotel in the middle of Waikiki beach, all was close and the beach is about 10 minutes walk.
the stuff was friendly and helpful,
the restaurant was amazing and the breakfest was the best value for money I ever had !

What a terrible property. Starting with the check in (which was a disaster) to the whole property. The pictures are such a wrong depiction of the property, it is a very small property. Beds are super uncomfortable, one of the worst Marriot properties. Autograph collection is the worst name!

We are very glad to have chosen the Laylow for our stay. The location was perfect, with many shops and restaurants next door. International Marketplace is literally right next door. It’s a short walk to Royal Hawaiian and the beach. Our room was clean; amenities were fantastic with free shave ice every day, and a basket of goodies upon arrival to the room (flip flops, snacks, water bottles, a rubber duck, postcards). We loved our stay and wished it was longer. Your search is over- just book it already!

Highly recommend this place.
I highly recommend this place. It was super cute and well-decorated. The staff was very nice. It's a bit smaller than some of the massive hotels right on the beach, but that's what we were going for.
We only ate at the restaurant once, but it was delicious. Great breakfast.
The only drawback is that they only have valet parking instead of other options. But if you budget for that ahead of time, it's not a problem.

We had to wait an extra hour for our room to be thoroughly cleaned but the staff were excellent at making us comfortable and giving us a free bar tab, overall excellent stay would come again.

The Laylow is definitely one of the better hotels in Waikiki. Modern chic and the staff are top notch from the front desk to the bar area. Spacious lounging areas and pool area. The gym is well equipped. The location is central Waikiki and close to the beach. I’ve stayed at many hotel in Waikiki and this is impressive. My stay was perfect!!!

Our family has eaten at the hideout restaurant several times but this was our first stay at the hotel…I wish we had booked sooner! Comfortable, cute rooms with incredible customer service. We were blown away with how family friendly the Laylow is while still maintaining a hip modern vibe. Daily shave ice, pool side drinks and snacks, kids art stations and the convenience of Waikiki fun right out your door. We will be back!

Excellent location if you are planning to stay in Waikiki area for your vacation. The friendly staff was willing to help with a smile and valet parking staff was great. During our stay we only had breakfast at the hotel restaurant, Hideout, as there were many dining options around Laylow and it was fine. Again friendly staff as well working at Hideout. Highly recommend!

My flight was cancelled after 2 1/2 hrs on the tarmac for mechanical difficulties. There were no other options to get to Honolulu that day. One call to Expedia and two to the Laylow were useless. They wouldn’t refund even a portion of the three night stay when I was stranded on the other side of the ocean due to no fault of my own. Very disappointed—will not be staying there again.

Clean facility and friendly staff
This is our 3rd stay at this hotel and they never fail. Service is always amazing. They have a great restaurant for breakfast and dinner. They also have activities for kids last weekend. I'm not sure if that's a new thing but I hope they keep offering it. Also, they have live music every night!

Arrival to an escalator and an elevator on the street. Very obscure entrance. No help with luggage. Very attentive and friendly staff. The room was quiet, clean, and very comfortable. There is no coffee availability for early risers. No in room coffee or place to get it until 6 am. Arriving from a place with a 3 or more hour time difference makes everyone an early riser. Not familiar with the area I tracked down the escalator and fortunately turned left and found a Starbucks.

I liked the stay, very clean hotel, great location for walking to Waikiki and shops. Traffic was always there, can’t be avoided but hard to navigate into the hotel - valet parking the best but $$. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent Stay!
The Laylow is an excellent hotel. Great looking rooms, happy staff, great location and amenities. The worst I could say about it is they need to up their Cortado game (i.e. improve their barista skills at their morning cafe). Everything else was spot-on and wonderful and I hope to stay there again.

Best Place in Oahu!
What a fabulous stay! Our stay was perfect from beginning to end. The staff was excellent, the rooms and amenities was wonderful! Great location, easy access to everything. Modern and trendy. Can’t say enough great things about this place and our experience. They have complimentary shave ice in the afternoon and we even made a lei before we left. This hotel focuses on hospitality and they have achieved that for sure! They had me at Aloha.

We went to this hotel because another couple was sharing a room, and that is the only hotel with two king-size beds. There was a lovely gift basket in the room with flip-flops, two water bottles, some snacks and some sanitizing wipes. The restaurant at the hotel was amazing! The staff was so friendly, the food was beyond delicious. The pool area was phenomenal, with comfortable seats. I can’t say enough good about this hotel! We came in two days early before a cruise, and it felt like a whole separate vacation. The shopping in the area is phenomenal! The front desk staff is phenomenal! The housekeeping staff is phenomenal! Highly highly highly recommend.

Details missing
We have stayed at the Laylow a number of times. This was the least favorable experience. We felt the details were missing. The in room amenities were not present like tea and coffee facilities, when we asked for them we waited a considerable time and did not receive what we requested. My wife used the gym and did not see any sanitizing equipment for the gym equipment itself and had to improvise to clean the machines before and after use. The bar/terrace hours are limited we feel there is opportunity for the hotel for those arriving early while waiting for a room to enjoy a drink etc while waiting. We went elsewhere to spend money as the facility was closed throughout the afternoon hours. We are hoping the details return and after this stay we are open to other accommodations.

The property was nestled on a main street with walkable, convenience to restaurants, beach, International Marketplace, & other shops. The hotel is open model & trendy with a small pool area and restaurant/coffee bar. The room was standard, but clean & well maintained thru out. My only issue was the low bed & not so comfortable mattress. Otherwise it was nice to enjoy the balcony in the morning with a glimpse of both the ocean between bldgs and a mountain view. Overall a nice stay but definitely hope theyll be a mattress upgrade for a next visit.

A disappointing experience
Stayed here about 3 years ago and enjoyed it. Not so much this time; we were in a suite this time. The room aircon unit was rattling away so loudly had to turn it off to get to sleep. The carpets were a little tired. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Found an empty plastic bottle under the bedside table. The room and property generally were unexpectedly noisey. Music level in the lift made talking to the person next to you difficult. A generally dissappointing experience.

I loved the live music at night. The foyer where you could sit and catch the sea breeze. The quiet rooms. Easy access to lifts. Immediacy of food. Options such as ukulele on the Wednesday. Safety if you are travelling alone as I was. Cordial, helpful service desk.

Centrally located in Waikiki. Convenient to shopping. A comfortable stay. The welcome gift was appreciated.
The two major concerns I have is that there was no recycling/did not appear to be environmentally friendly. The other concern is the noise at night - slightly unbearable.

This hotel was perfect for the week we stayed in Hawaii. It was located in a central area and a 5 minute walk to the beach. The hotel itself was clean and the staff was very friendly. I was also pleased that 2 king beds came in the room allowing everyone to sleep comfortably. We took advantage of the water fountains in the lobby that offered room temp, cold, and sparkling water. I wish the hotel would have offered a communal space exclusively for hotel guests. It seemed that all the common areas were always busy due to guests not staying at the hotel.

Good for a pitstop or layover, not a vacation
The staff is friendly, the location is convenient, the bed is quite comfortable, and the room is nicely furnished and decorated, making this a good pit-stop for a layover, or a quick visit if you have other activities booked.
Additionally, the breakfast is quite good (the potatoes are to die for), and I really appreciate their excellent, low-acid coffee in the mornings. The complimentary shave ice in the afternoon is a nice touch. Other than the Mai Tai, I didn't find much on the dinner menu to recommend, however.
Unfortunately, the pool area is VERY noisy from the machinery operating non-stop next door, as well as VERY loud, intermittent "bangs" that sound like gunshots going off all day long in the alley right on the other side of the pool. This makes the pool area not very relaxing nor enjoyable, and of course, if your room is on the pool side, it is also loud on your lanai. I am not sure if this is a COVID thing, but the restaurant is closed after breakfast and doesn't re-open until 5pm, so there is no poolside food/drinks - you will have to bring your own from elsewhere.
Additionally, the AC in the room is very loud, so if you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs.

In the heart of Waikiki so it walking distance to a lot of shopping and dining areas. Cute Art Deco style that was comfortable and clean. Coffee bar was a plus with early hours so it was easy to grab and go. On the flip side, it is in the heart of Waikiki so if you are looking for quiet or less touristy - this is not the place for you. Valet parking is the only option. Expensive but worth it. The valet was helpful and considerate in terms of having the car available depending on your schedule. I travelled solo so not sure how it is for families.

Awesome hotel in the heart of Waikiki. If you plan to stay in Waikiki for the majority of your trip, this hotel is in the perfect location. It is close right next door to the International Market Place and right across the road from Marukame Udon Restaurant. Waikiki Beach is a 5min walk from the hotel. There are so many restaurants nearby. We will definitely be staying again at The Laylow on our next visit. Aloha!

Trendy spot in a great location. Nice cafe/bar/restaurant. Cool decor. No drinks at the pool, which is too bad. There were a fair amount of kids around, which may or may not matter to you. Surrounded by parking garages which are bright and loud, but windows are soundproof and blackout curtains work. We would come back.

The staff at this hotel did a great job when I had an issue with my room. My room was super noisy and I couldn’t sleep until 3 AM local time. They move me to another room the next night. They did the right thing. They also gave me a $50 voucher.

The hotel was very nice. Due to Covid, additional checks were required. However, once you have checked into the hotel, you should not have to show your covid card, Hawaii safe travel and ID to access the pool and/or restaurant. The hotel should have a pass or sticker for your hotel key that allows access to the rest of the property.

I could have stayed somwhere better after upgrading to $500 for bigger room.
There was a very strong smell of cooking spices /food from below restaurants
The view was a garage next door. I suspect they twke care of direct sales tather than 3rd party. I would really look into that or i would just go direct

Swanky but not super functional
Very cool property with awesome bar, restaurant, and pool area. Location is perfect if you’re looking to stay in the heart of Waikiki action. The rooms are hip but also clearly an old hotel that they put lipstick on. Furniture is cool but not super functional. The chairs were too big for the balcony and there is no desk or surface to use as a table to eat or sit and work.

Absolutely wonderful. Perfect location , happy it was close to everything but just off the madness of the main strip. Hotel rooms were so unique and clean and new and spacious .. and updated! A lot of the hotels in the area are very dated, and this was not that. Just loved the stay - and all of the staff was so friendly!

This place is cute but unfortunately I want to say overrated for the price.
We had to cancel a previous trip to a different hotel due to covid and the request to cancel (with positive covid tests in hand) was denied. They are super strict on their non-refundable policy and I think that is ridiculous. It’s one thing for an illegitimate reason but as someone who stayed there, I thought that was absurd. I get it - they might be hurting during this hard time… but what a stand as a company…
The only reason I bring this up, is at check in they brought it up that the reservation had been attempted to cancel (which was over a month prior - and again, it was done on accident by Expedia). Just note, no matter life situations, they’ll refuse to refund you and they’ll allow covid positive guest to stay here DESPITE checking your safe travels clearance.
Outside of that (which I think is huge after going through the pandemic we are still in), the hotel is ok. They charge a resort fee but don’t have a ton of perks. I don’t even think the WiFi is strong - had a hard time connecting. The gym is pretty small, pool is cute, however enclosed by walls so a bit windy, elevators a bit slow.
We stayed in a suite and anticipated it to be bigger than it was. The decor was cute but the views were awful (wall and a parking lot). The parking is terrible and $39 a night. You most likely will need to park in their overflow which is roughly a block away

Despite booking two rooms, each with 2 king beds for a total of 6 people only got rooms with one king bed and air mattress for one room which deflated. They did try and find other options and were friendly but hotel rooms were basically sold out.

Stayed at the Sheraton the night before and besides the view, everything was better at the lay low from top to bottom. Better service, nicer staff, nicer rooms, free stuff, robes, free flip flops & water bottles, room service, the list goes on. This place knows how to run an up and coming fantastic stay, especially for the price.

Great hotel in the heart of Waikiki. Very touristy, but great food options and walkable entertainment. Beach is nearby, hotel gives you a little gift basket with some chocolate and slippers. It's a good value. Fancy enough to feel nice but definitely not super fancy. Front desk staff was lovely, Joey was suuuuuper nice :)

Hip but not worth it
The hotel is cute and hip but has some serious flaws that may or may not have to do with Covid protocols and service disruptions that are happening all over the islands. There are two people working the front desk which is just too few. We stood in line for over 20 minutes waiting to pick up our keys - we had already gone through the lengthy check in process earlier but our room wasn't ready. They have no coffee in the rooms, no room service and no coffee service so if you would like coffee in the morning you need to stand in line at the coffee bar with all the other guests and pay $6.00 +. We bailed on the line twice because it just was too long and the one person in line inevitably had a 4 drink order. One morning there was literally one woman working, that's it - taking orders, pulling shots, filling orders from the dining area, and ringing people up. It was crazy. The hotel has to put coffee in the rooms or out in the hall or something. It was faster to put in a mobile order at Starbucks, go down 11 floors and walk a block to the Buck and bring it back to the room than to deal with the line at the hotel. I couldn't speak to the food at the Laylow since we could never get in to try it out. Across the street is Konos which has amazing breakfast burritos so we just went there.

If you want to feel like you are in Hawaii and stay off the beach, this is the place. All Hotels in this area are similar, we looked! Our first night in another hotel that was supposed to be a 5 star resort was dirty. We found Laylow, and they made us feel like we need to the rest of our trip. Especially my wife which was most important.

We loved the laylow, central, hip vibe, cool design, great huge room, most comfortable mattress ever. Only problem was that everyone else wants to be there so the bar and breakfast were always packed. The line for breakfast was 45 minutes one day in the cooking hot sun, with only 1 person taking orders and 1 barista. Made no sense why there wasn’t table service for hotel guests except perhaps staffing issues after covid which we would understand. The breakfast food was a bit overpriced for quality but the dinner food / snacks - esp ahi tacos - were great.

Love staying at this property, as this was my 8th time staying at this specific hotel. I am torn on if I will ever return to this hotel, based on how I was treated by the manager. My fiancé and I were driving back from the north shore with some other family members when we received a call from the manager stating that they needed to give our room to someone else, and that there was an "engineering issue" that prevented them from honoring the reservation that I booked several weeks in advance. I did get heated on the phone call; however, the manager hung up on me and did not provide us with an answer on if we would have our room or not. This added unwarranted stress to me and my family and is completely unacceptable. We did have a room upon arrival, but nothing was done, nor was an apology provided for what was communicated to me about our room over the phone.

Top-Tier Hotel
Great location! The staff was super friendly. I love that we were able to stay in a room with two king beds. Definitely the place to stay if you are looking to be in the middle of great entertainment!

Property is centrally located close to the international market shopping complex and Waikiki beach. Great centrally located place to stay. Disappointing that hotel management did not fully staff the hotel’s coffee/espresso bar in the morning or open the kitchen for dine in breakfast. Additionally, unless you have reservations ahead of time, it’s difficult to get a table outside in the hotel’s restaurant. The restaurant is a great place to dine in with live music in the evening but outside dining is by reservation only—so plan ahead. Otherwise, this place is an excellent place to stay. Would definitely stay here again and no problem recommending to friends and family.

probably one of the best options in waikiki considering price and quality of the rooms as well as location. Service was excellent, rooms are spacious and clean, friendly service, and the welcome basket was a very nice touch!

Great hotel right in the heart of things. We ate in the hotel one night and it was delicious. Also 1 block to the beach and the best pastry place in Oahu in steps away, Kona Coffee Purveyors. The staff covered our every need and we would totally stay here again.

WiFi sucks and there’s a club in the lobby
The hotel is really pretty but the WiFi was horrible. The cell service inside the hotel was almost nonexistent.
This hotel has a popular restaurant and bar which is convenient but walking into a crowd of party-goers in the lobby wasn’t the calm and peaceful Island experience we were expecting.
The staff was great and always super positive.
