The bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast was good. I really liked the 24hr coffee machine with a variety of coffees. The only negative thing was the first-floor suite had a stain on the sofa, but we were easily moved to another suite with no problem. It was very convenient to shopping and site seeing.

We accidentally left a fairly large sum of cash on the nightstand. After realizing this fact several hours later, we drove back and the lady in housekeeping who had cleaned our room returned it to us! There is still good and honest people in the world-thank you Elsa!

Just had a bit of a hard time finding it as the GPS took us in an open field. But with Ree Lobsters help they directed in the right direction. The hotel is tucked right behind Lowes. A good experience

I booked my room on the reviews I read. However, this hotel was evidently remodeled half way. Old carpet, new linens, yes. But everything else was still dingy and poorly lit room at best. I will not be returning to this hotel.

Hotel is clean, area is quiet, and beds are comfortable.
Age of the hotel is showing, but furnishings and interior decoration may have been refreshed recently. Can hear muffled voices from the hallway and adjacent rooms.
Friendly staff. Complimentary breakfast not good at all.

Staff and facility are great. There is evidence of repairs ongoing but not left undone. The area is difficult to navigate at night due to lacking street lighting. Getting to sit down dining is difficult due to traffic and road structure. Do not try to drive after dark in the rain.

Front desk service was fine. Linens on beds seemed clean and beds were comfortable. The mini fridge was gross and questionable about whether it worked. Tub, toilet and sink seemed clean, however walls (in both bedroom and bath) were gross. Bathroom floor was sticky and there was something on both sides of the bathroom door. Carpet definitely needed cleaning in room and hallway. Breakfast was basically your continental breakfast.

Easy to find and just off the highway, but quiet enough to not hear the traffic. We had the jacuzzi room that was nice. The jets need to be replaced. Other than that, easy check in and out. Nice people working the front desk. Bed and pillows were fantastic.

Good choice for us
Nice hotel, amazing staff and breakfast was pretty good. Room was a good size and bathroom is updated, clean and had a fan so it didn’t fog from showers or stink after toilet use.
The beds were too firm for me and the pillows too soft but otherwise we had a great visit.

Beautiful views. Many amenities a short drive away. Clean facility with friendly staff.
Only negative was a site near the hotel that used heavy equipment. I couldn’t find the source but was awoken at 4am to the beeping of heavy equipment backing up. This continued over the next couple hours.

Overall, not a bad stay. Room was super roomy and comfortable. Great location, great price. Coffee could’ve been a bit better-spring for the good quality creamer and not the generic knockoff. The breakfast was subpar-Waffles great but everything else was meh. Exercise room was excellent. Would consider staying here again.

We decided to stay there at the last minute because we were on a road trip and we needed some rest. The only thing that I have to say is the beds were nice the pillows were nice, but the room we stayed and had a large reddish brown hand print on the wall . I think a fresh coat of paint on the hotels would be nice.thanks

Everything was okay except for the heating system. It was very noisy when it came on which was very disturbing to sleep. If that can be adjusted, all is fine.

We stayed in 3 different hotels during this trip. The Staunton Clarion was the best overall! Great staff. Clean rooms. Just a fabulous stay! And the view wasn't bad either. Wish we had stayed there the whole time!

The front desk staff were awesome. Being new to the area I asked for recommendations in downtown and they gave me a map and highlighted their favorite places. We went to one of the restaurants and the photos delicious. The beds are comfortable room is very nice.

Almost passable.
The good part: room is large, view is nice, price is below others in the area, next to a Walmart.
The not so good: hotel is dated and worn, paint patches here and there like they are getting ready to paint, desk was broken.
We only stayed passing through but I would not come back.

This is an older style motel. No frills and mundane styling , but is is good value, clean, and the staff was accommodating. The breakfast was acceptable with hot eggs and sausage, fresh waffles and fruit, toast , and cereal. Pool and pool furniture are much less than impressive. A/C was cool and quiet. Bathrooms and beds were very clean. Property appears very safe.

This hotel was the best bang for your buck I’ve ever stayed in. It was a very large, spacious room. Clean and welcoming. Breakfast was good, staff was very friendly and kind!!! Great experience- was highly impressed!!

Fine for a night, but not good for longer stays.
Pros: Good size refrigerator, microwave. Breakfast, 24 hour coffee, cookies, pool, cleanliness, wonderful staff.
Cons: terrible lighting in bathroom, no dresser drawers, very poor maintenance (1st room had a hole in the bathroom wall with exposed wires), patches in walls left unpainted. No grab bar in tub/shower since the tub was deep. It looked like by trying to make the hotel eco-friendly, they made it customer unfriendly. Fine for a night, but not good for longer stays.
The location is good and the staff was wonderful.

Positive: Desk clerk, Tanya, was cheerful, friendly and helpful. King room and bathroom look recently fully renovated with upgraded linens and furnishings. Comfortable arm chair, mattress and pillows; nice large flatscreen TV.
A/C cooled quickly and thoroughly.
Quiet location above the highway with a view of I-81.
Negative: Slight musty odor upon entering room. Felt damp/humid even with a/c on. Not great water pressure in shower.

Ehhhh...just OK.
Check in/Out super smooth, front desk service was great (Tanya specifically was amazing/sweet/attentive/helpful) and you get fresh baked cookies at night. No complications with parking or wifi and the pool was clean/perfect temperature - more outdoor furniture would be nice. Now for the not so good - the rooms had a musty/old/moisture smell to them, turning the AC on helped slightly but it was pretty bad. Stains on one blanket and the bath mat, bed wasn't very comfortable, the bottoms of my socks and shoes were black by the time we checked out and the shower curtain only hangs in the very center of the rod so you have to hold one side of the curtain up while you shower so you don't freeze and so the water doesn't splash on the toilet paper holder. There was obvious previous water damage in the bathroom that needs a better patch and paint job. The mini couch in the "suite" does not pull out and I think the cushions (that were also stained) were from a different couch. Lamp shades had holes in them.
Every human we interacted with was super nice, so nice that I hesitated on writing this because I don't want it to negatively impact them however - these rooms shouldn't be close to $100 per night.

Decent room and hotel, but wouldn’t recommend
The hotel seems nice upon arrival. There’s a cute little outdoor pool by the entrance and the layout and cleanliness of the room were fine. There was a recycling bin in the room. Problem is, it smelled like dirty gym socks in our room. Also, there’s a complimentary breakfast but it’s only open until 9 am. Which no one told us as we checked in.

Quaint but needs attention to a few details.
The lady at the desk was very polite and got us in our room early. The room was very clean and felt germ free. The breakfast had a good assortment. We recommend that the breakfast sausage be cooked longer, use of real eggs is better than powdered, and use freshly squeezed orange juice. The pool water was clean but the bottom of the pool had a lot dirt/stones in its corners. We recommend that the pool and area surrounding it be cleaned up, as we came out one afternoon there was a used rubber glove and handfuls of paper towels laying inside the pool fence, plus trash cans outside were always over flowing. We recommend each morning and throughout the day those things are checked.

Home Hidden on a Hill
Hidden away with easy access to downtown Staunton. Beautiful View of the mountains on the horizon from the front entryway, as well as various wildlife to watch in the 'courtyard' by the pool (Which has a robot that cleans it.). Very friendly and helpful staff. The host has an amazing 'Mama' vibe, complete with warm cookies at 8PM. Continental Breakfast was a little slim, but what was there was delicious. All in all, very successful at making a business feel like Home. Kudos to the staff for a well maintained property and for their commitment to hospitality and service.

This property sits on a hill with an absolutely gorgeous view. The property is clean and located convenient to everything in Staunton, all while being quiet and peaceful. The room was spotless and well appointed. The beds were quite firm. The breakfast offered waffles, eggs, sausage, bread, English muffins, yogurt, fruit, cereal, etc. and was fresh and tasty. The gym was stocked well for a hotel gym. If we're in the area again, we will definitely be back.

The hotel room was very comfortable and clean, but there was a hole in the bathroom wall. The bed was exceedingly nice, and breakfast was really good. They had an excellent coffee machine, really fancy, and it was nice to get a wonderful cup in the morning. One note about the bathroom: it's made for tall people. I loved having a toilet seat that was high enough off the ground for me not to kill my knees to sit. I also loved having a shower nozzle that was high enough that I didn't have to stoop. It's little touches like this that make me want to come back to a property. I would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it.

Wifi was terrible during our entire stay. Front desk staff did not know how to (or were not permitted to) reset router, which might have helped. Staff very friendly. Pool was nice, would have been better to have chairs around the pool. Breakfast was acceptable

When we arrived, two employees were right outside the entrance smoking or vaping. It was not a good first impression to have to walk through this. We saw one of these people smoking/vaping right outside the entrance on other occasions.
The only light in the bathroom is a light around the mirror, so the bathroom was very dim.
Gloria at the front desk was helpful and pleasant. The bedside tables had good lights and plenty of space. AC unit was very loud when fan came on.

Disappointing and will never return.
We were declined for an extension to check out despite our plea that we were attending MBU graduation & just wanted to return back to change clothes for our road trip. Front desk was unfriendly & flat out said "no way", you need to check out at 11am. TV's remote was low batt so it did not work during our stay.
