Family stay
Stayed here one night. The service was great, but the hotel was not in the best condition. The lobby was flooded when we arrived. The hotel room was clean for the most part. Quiet area, right off the freeway. Some of the guests in the hotel were kind of sketchy. You get what you pay for.

Staff was fantastic. The girl who works evenings at front desk (sorry I can’t think of her name) but she wears braids. Love her, she is so sweet and kind she made it worth staying for 4 nights. Outside not so great but room was cute and clean

Great place for the cost
The door had a piece come off and then was really difficult to open. The towels seem like maybe they were washed in an overly large load and didn't get COMPLETELY clean. Really missed having a refrigerator in the room but I think that was a missed read on my part.

The staff was excellent. The outside of the property looks fine. The rooms are just ok but when I got into the room and I saw one single roach. I killed the roach and went about my day. Having any type of bugs automatically brings down the rating. With that being said it is a cheap hotel and I didn't expect any thrills but cleanliness and bug free should be at any hotel. Other than that it was just ok for what I paid for.

There were burn marks in the bathroom. Back of the toilet was broke. It smelled like pot on the 3 Rd floor and in the room. The a/c on the 3rd floor wasn't't on the hallway. The window opened on the 3 Rd floor. My reservations were for a non smoking room and a queen bed. I got a smoking room with ashtrays everywhere. Woke up feeling like I'd smoked a pack of cigs. And the door didn't lock on the room. It wasn't pleasant. I do not recommend this hotel. Spend the money.and go to a better hotel. My mistake. I will never stay at another motel 6

Hallway stunk badly of garbage, fridge in room stunk of fish and mold. Roaches. Place looks like it's being used as a shelter. I get it, but never an excuse for filth. Smell of weed most definitely in the area. Shady looking people hanging around. Most assuredly not up to Motel 6 standards. Never again. We stayed in Morgantown WV the night before at a Motel 6. Made this place look like a refugee camp.

Stinky Room
Was only staying for about four hours of sleep before going to the airport, but the room had a very strong odor of possibly marijuana. Wasn’t a hundred percent sure but it definitely smelled. Passed on asking for another room solely because we just needed to sleep. Service desk was nice. Room looked clean. Shower had low water pressure.

Not good at all, roach crawled from door as soon as we opened it. Room smelled, hallway smelled. No spreads or appropriate number of pillows for bed and were never available when requested. Ovvious mildew around air conditiiner unit. Beds lumpy and uncimfirtable. We cut our trip off earlier because the room was so uncomfortable

Weekend stay for Carowinds
While the hotel itself needs to be updated, the room and hallway were updated and clean. Reasonably priced for being so close to Carowinds, it made our stay more enjoyable. Unfortunately, there were a few things that were concerning. First, animals are OK but I was almost attacked by one. The owner could barely hang on to the leash. I believe all animals should be vetted before allowing to stay. This one should never have been allowed in the motel at all it was too dangerous. Second, the outside doors leading into the motel have key locks but none worked. So anyone can come into the motel. Keep that in mind if you plan on staying here. Lastly, there were a few people we saw hanging around outside. Not sure if they were staying at the motel or not. Again, keep in mind those outside doors are not locked.

This Motel has roaches in the rooms you cnt eat on the bed or they will come right to your food. It was disgusting. People live in these motels with their pets and the smell is not good. They do not provide lotion you have to purchase everything. And they do not serve breakfast. They serve watered down coffee. Half of the phones or T.v.'s do not work.

Right for the money
The staff and other people staying we're super nice. The room was the premium room and had the amenities promised. Large tub, two full size beds, full size refrigerator, wheelchair accessible. The downside was you had to move the bed to get into the refrigerator. The beds were a bit too firm for me. The worst part of staying was no house keeping came by during a four day stay. The trash wasn't picked up or fresh towels offered.

Get what you pay for
Sercice was outstanding. I wasnt able to get my door open when i first went to the room. The lady that checked me in saw this on camera and came to help me. The room itself wasn't very clean. The mattress looked gross so i just slept on top of the blankets. There was mold on the walls and something weird on the ceiling. I took puctures to post but it wont allow me to add them to the review

Much better stay this time away from the ruckess down the hall 3rd floor. Room 311 was nice and clean on arrival. HANNAH ROCKS!!! Just still cant get used to the rationing of bath towels. 3 guests needs 3 towels without having to return 2 to get a 3rd. Lame inconvenient rule. Just keep account per room and charge them if they steal them. Fix 3rd floor ice machine please. Good job overall

Not a family friendly experience
Let me start by saying the location was good if you are going to carowinds. It really isn’t a place to stay at with a family. It was advertised to have adjoining rooms but they didn’t. We have a family of 7 so it is hard to find hotels to stay as a family. The place smelled like marijuana. There were signs up no smoking except third floor and at least 6 feet from building. Even the workers were smoking right outside the front door. The room had a few bugs and the kids feet were black from dirt from just walking around barefoot. People were friendly just not a family atmosphere

I didn’t like the fact that we woke up to a police raid. I also don’t like the fact of the unique odor on the 2nd floor in the hallway. It wasn’t even a smoking odor, it was like funk that embedded into the floors and wall.

LOOK FOR ANOTHER HOTEL!!!
DO NOT STAY HERE! I understand it might be cheap but at least go across the street because it is awful. My wife and I booked a 2 bed room because we were going with friends. Our friends canceled last minute but we were going to keep the two beds because it was more space and we already paid. We arrived and we were very disappointed when we saw that it was only the one bed room with no fridge,microwave, and very little space.I went down to the lobby to request a room change and they said that there were no two bed rooms available even though we booked one. we went back up to the room and tried to make the best of it buy unpacking a little but then noticed very large brown stains on the sheets. I walked down there and demanded that they sent someone up to our room with new sheets. The woman told me 1.) that they had no housekeeper and 2.) she didn't have any extra sheets. after arguing she finally gave in and told me she could switch my room. We arrived in the second room and it was a 2 bed room (even though she told me she didn't have any available). The first night was fine but i was just way too tired to notice anything but the second night was awful. I killed at least 8 roaches, they didn't have any replacement towels, and the pool was shut down. Do not book this hotel it’s crawling in bugs,it smells like smoke everywhere including the smoke free rooms, and there are always homeless people outside and in the lobby. The staff are friendly but not helpful at all.

The chic on 2nd shift cool, the rest not so much. Rooms are basically a bed, tv, bathroom, that's it. No pen, no notepad, no bible, dirty ac vents( I took a pic of the filter), broke down cars, no security, no breakfast, only coffee, will be staying at Clarion next time. Great area, close to freeway and food, gas and Carowinds. Not worth the price you pay to stay.

Good for the price
This day itself was good after a day at Carowinds. The staff was very friendly and always helpful because our room card keys kept becoming discharged. I felt bad for the staff because the roof was leaking and they had towels all over the lobby and vending area to try and absorb the water and to keep people from falling. The hotel was a bit noisy, we heard dogs barking during the night. We were not expecting anything fancy anyway so we were pleased with our stay.

I felt a little unsafe here with my children. There were people outside playing loud music. Also the hallways and motel itself appears to need some updating to make look more safe and pleasing.
The girl working the front desk was sweet and knowledgeable and was very helpful.

The entire building smelled like cat urine, I ended up sleeping with door wide open all night. I love places that accept pets but you have to clean up the property far better than your regular motels. It was extremely bad.

We were locates on the ground floor at the far end last room. #139. There is an emergency door at the end of the hall. The lock is broken and it is open to anyone comi g in and out. We stoped at the motel after driving 14hrs from ontario Canada just to sleep. Due to this door problem and the excess use all night long sleep was impossible. I did complaine to the girl at the desk. Very unacceptable 😑

For a Night….wallet stolen, only $80 cash….Np!
First…Nancy at the Front Desk was absolutely past incredible! Always smiling and just perfectly friendly! The room was ok. There was only one towel in a room with 2 full beds. Eco friendly, if that’s how they work it….I understand! I’m sure if I had asked for another, it would have been provided. Did have roaches. One actually was in the towel bowl in the wee hours when I went in. I flushed it! The others were on the main area below the tv. I had no food in the room. The a/c didn’t work very well. I noticed walking in no cover on either bed, just a sheet. I was worried about being cold. No. The a/c didn’t work properly so they balanced each other out and I was actually happy about that! They did have a thin blanket between two sheets on the bed I found out after I pulled the cover back to sleep. I had one pillow without a pillow case. I was there for one night. So it was fine. What made it all worth not having any amenities and finding out my wallet was stolen so I had to find somewhere for less than $80, Nancy at the front desk! She was just really incredible. When you need a room after banking hours, and it’s for 1 nite….it was fine. It seemed safe as I rt away noticed the cameras in the hallways. Also, I had a non smoking room. It 100% had no smell of any prior people smoking in the room. Nancy…..needs a raise! She has been there for 3 years! If your not having a good day/evening….pop in for a night! Meeting Nancy and feeling how she loves her job, the guests…..was amazing

During my stay the motel 6 was great however there was a misunderstanding with the front desk of what we planned to do at check out so i believe they were not as helpful as usual to get us checked out or for us to stay another night and that caused a lot of confusion and frustration.

Super clean rooms; very basic necessities.
The rooms alone were surprisingly super clean. I’ve stayed at various types of hotels (budget hotels and more expensive ones) and this one was cleaner than a lot of any I’ve stayed at. Nothing was old and/or falling apart like a typical hotel that’s in the same price range as this one. That being said, this is a very clean, budget hotel. With very basic “amenities”. Some rooms don’t even have a fridge or microwave and there’s no breakfast or coffee. The beds are very flat and low to the ground and the pillows are worse so bring your own! But I’m not complaining it was one night and last minute so I was expecting wayyyyy worse. It’s literally right beside of carowinds. So if you’re needing a hotel for that, it’s honestly walking distance. (A bit of a walk though). They also allow pets! So that’s a plus.

The room was not clean. The motel had alot of people who lived there all the time. Dogs barked all night. The police were there on several occasions. They made arrest and we didn’t ferl safe.

This place was worth the money. Super close to Carowinds! Cracker Barrel is nearly in the parking lot. Clean inside. The only thing is they allow dogs and the hallways did smell like a kennel. Did not bother me, but if you were allergic to dogs, it might be an issue? Recommend this place, and I will be back again!

It's ok. It's a budget motel, so I don't expect fancy stuff. The room is not that big, but it is ample for one or two people. TV works. Bed seems fine. It is quiet near me, but a couple of dogs barked from behind closed doors as I walked down the hall.

I stay at the hotel every now and then. And everytime I come staff is great, they are very helpful, they will get you what you need, rooms are cleans. And the best part is my dogs can stay. Management is fantastic. Thank you.

The beds are so soft- very comfortable. Could use some updating- but for the price I’m not complaining. If you’re just needing a place to lay your head for the night- this is it. Location felt safe. No outside noise. I would stay again

No pillow cases. Linens, towels and pillows were stained, smelly and lumpy. It appeared people were living there and there was commotion all night and into the early morning. Police were there at one point. Drug activity.

Ms. N and young lady N excellent customer service and Mr R the housekeeper very kind he gave me two rolls of paper and would kindly open the doors. BOTH desrve a raise and be recognized. The rest of the staff the ones at the front counter need to start treating their customers with kindness patience empathy and treating them like the Good Human beings that they are....honestly very diaappointing place to have my need to rest after working 3 jobs.....

No towels provided, sheets on bed were dirty as if they were from the previous occupant. With blood, food and Dirty all over them. Dirty room & bathroom. Door wouldn't lock, mold everywhere with a foul smell. Thin walls so noise is an issue.

We stayed in room 119. There was no fan in the bathroom. The freezer to the mini fridge was frozen with thick ice so you could not use it. Everything else about the room was fine, we enjoyed our stay and the staff was really nice. They gave my kids pumpkin cut outs to decorate and hung them along the front side of the front desk. I would stay here again!!

Clean and nice pet friendly place to stay
This is for people with pets. We knew this going into it. We stayed hear for the closeness to Carowinds. The price is good the rooms were very clean and the hallways are very clean. Hotel staff was very nice and polite. Will be staying here again.

For the price it was ok. The toilet handle was not attached, and we didn’t have a fridge, but it was clean. The staff was very nice and it was very close to Carowinds. We could hear noise from the room above us all night, not sure if it was a pet or something else, but it woke us up several times. For the price and location it was decent.

Where do I begin? From the 2nd floor to our room at the end of the hall way smelled like an unclean kennel. I used a new whole can of Febreze just to get to our room. There was a VERY loud verbal arugument in the hallway at 2315pm. There was people walking around with brown paper bags. Will not stay theee again

The good: clean motel, easy self parking, friendly staffs, easy check-in and out, reasonable price, vending machines and outdoor swimming pool.
The bad: people have smelly pets in motel, smelly hall way, bathroom drain was very slow, no mini fridge nor small safe.

I chose this location due to its close proximity to Carowinds and compared to other motel 6s, the exterior looked really nice! I even got a nice welcome gift bag from the front desk.
The largest room they have is a queen but it was more like a full size bed in terms of size and not comfortable at all. The pillows were way too flat and when asked if I could get some extra they said they didn’t have any. The walls are super thin and my neighbors were super loud.
The bathroom shower is actually pretty nice but we didn’t get any housekeeping services so I didn’t get new towels or replenish of toiletries.

June 20th through the 21st i went to Carowinds for 2 days and i stayed at moltel 6 for 2 nights i have to say for it being a moltel 6 this place was very clean super friendly front deck staff and very friendly housekeeping my room was very clean at the time of check in the bathroom was super clean nice cold ac when i walk into the room over all i would highly recommend moltel 6 by Carowinds if your looking for a nice clean cheap moltel close by Carowinds this is the 2 go place to stay do not let the bad reviews scare you

I made a reservation online but when I arrived I was rudely refused because they had no rooms available. Insult to injury the woman at the desk said it as if I was an idiot for not knowing "You know we got no rooms available right??"

It’s more like a Homeless shelter
Most people at the hotel are poor local residents, not travelers. It’s more like a low income apartment than a motel. The mix does not make for a good experience to say the least.
