Last time we were her was about 2 years ago. Under new ownership. Really has gone down in overal upkeep and appearance. I swear everyone was smoking pot. The whole complex reaked of it. Bathroom was not as clean as in the past. We definitely won't be staying there again.

Would not recommend...
For starters, the room had a strong odor of cigarettes on entry, we left our bags to grab a bite to eat had to get the front desk involved to get back in our room, the door to room was broken and required some strong force to even open, the room was not very comfortable and there was a lot of road noise all night which made it difficult to get any sleep.

Arrived checked in. Never went to room yet was running late for an event. So I arrived later that night to find the rio spelled soooo bad we cystsy in the room we went to try an get another they said none was available an the housekeeping or management wouldn't be in til 8 am. So of course we're forced to sleep in our truck til then. Only to get nothing resolved but to come back Monday to speak with manager. They did let me stay an check out at 130pm. I had to wait for a tow to come give me a jump start my battery had went dead

I booked for two nights and left after one day, terrible noisy neighbors..they threw empty alcohol bottles down by car and there was cigarette butts on my windshield, cardboard boxes empty and ripped sitting next to my driver door, yelling at dogs in the day and drunk partying at night, I wish I could get at least half of my money back for that super inconvenient stay, I will NEVER go back to a motel 6 again!!

Front desk office stinks like Mold soon as you walk in. Staff are not very friendly. When I needed something I could not get it because housekeeping did not speak English. There was dogs 2 doors down from the room I was in that were very loud. Toilet kept clogging. There was a cockroach crawling in the bathtub. I chose this place because it’s what I could afford. I will never stay at Motel 6 again

The motel caters to a rougher cliental. As we drove in, we had people watching us come to and from our car - to the point that we parked it in front of our motel room and kept an eye on it all night. There was loud music also playing all hours of the night. The room itself looked like it was in the middle of a remodel, which based on the state of the motel, was likely to never finish. There were dozens of holes punched into the motel room front door - which were from all the door locks they attempted to install. The room had what looked to be a new bedframe installed, as it still had wires poking for the bed lights - which also didn't work. The door to the washroom was off its base and wouldn't fully close. The front door to the motel room was widely off its base and not flush with the top, to the point you could almost peak out of it. There was paint on the floors. Garbage was also strewn about outside.
The staff, although very nice, was situated behind what looked to be bulletproof glass. If they don't feel safe working there, what are the odds you'll feel safe sleeping there. Honestly, the only pleasant experience at this motel was briefly speaking with the staff during check in and check out.
You get what you pay for, avoid if possible. It's not a motel I'll be staying at again.

Drug users all around the motel got woken up by cops at night because of next door occupants were fighting and doing drugs , so cops wanted to know if I knew what was going on .

You get what you pay for
Cheap motel with expected problems. The room I was originally given the key for was actually already occupied by another tenant, so I had to go back to the front desk to get a different room. The restroom smelled like roach spray. The whole place smelled like tobacco, even inside my room. The other tennants are visibly a rough crowd. I'd book a better place if I could afford it.

When my boyfriend and I showed up to stay at the Motel 6, we were very disappointed! Not only was our hotel door fully open, but there is no microwave and no mini fridge. The pictures online are NOT what you are paying for! I took pictures of the 1 queen bed non smoking room and it was terrible! If you advertise something, make sure its EXACTLY what you have in the pictures! I was very let down! No mini fridge, tv wasnt even mounted right, etc. They said they are under renovations, but it is not worth the stay unless you just want a bed to sleep in. The bathroom itself had the most issues. I don't believe our hotel was cleaned. There was hair and a used bar of soap! Guess what?! You don't even get complimentary shampoo or conditioner! You have to buy them at the front desk! There is no microwave. There is only vending machines. No service deli like advertised. I was upset with it being just me and my boyfriend, but this place was NOT kid friendly! I seriously will NEVER give this property another chance! There were cosmetic issues like holes around the air conditioner, in the bathtub they filled in holes with caulking. Overall it was disappointing when comparing it to the pictures advertised online. Would give 0 stars if I could!

Facility was undergoing renovation work and updating. Lots of paper and trash in grass section outside my room, in between all the other rooms. Room was a little dark, was difficult to tell if my room had already been through the renovation or not. Toilet seat was barely holding on to toilet. Wall in bathroom next to toilet looked like somebody had wiped their dirty(feces covered) finger on it. Similar spots on edge of shower. Bed was very uncomfortable. Only stayed 1 night and did not use shower. Would like to see what facility looks like after renovation has been completed but definitely need cleanliness standards to increase.

The pluses to Motel 6 in Villa Park Illinois is the location which is accessible to all expressways, many stores, restaurantsand entertainment such as Drury Lane theater in Oak Brook,IL. The staff was professional, caring, friendly. The minuses, the property is being renovated, and the rooms were clean but dusty, especially the floors. The rooms I had the locks did not lock from the inside. The staff made an immediate change to a different room,with an upgrade with a microwave/ frig. at no charge. If you need a clean, economy priced room, Motel 6 in Villa Park, Illinois can't be beat.

The price was very low, office and grounds very clean. The clerk was very nice and welcoming. The room freshly remodeled and was very nice. In a pinch I needed a room. This was spur of moment, never been here before in my life, very happy with my choice.

We have stayed at this property several times when we have early morning flights. We arrive late and leave very early. At 4am I was going to take a shower and get ready to leave for the airport but no water would come from the faucet. I told the desk clerk but there was nothing they could do. The manager was supposed to call me but never did. I didn't want anything ecxept to vent. They should know the shower doesn't work. I had to go about my travel day without showering!

Horrible Hotel
I booked the hotel for one night. I reached there at 11:00PM, no once was there. The Front desk person left. The next duty guy come at 12:30AM. There were 3more peoples are also waiting along with me. No sign that no one is there on desk. After waiting 1.5hr, the gentleman came. He told me can not help, as they are under staff. Not at all friendly. I booked a non-smoking room. The room was smoking. The AC/Heater was not working. As I was tired I just manage. If I have time I could look for alternate. They should return money to customer. This is horrible. Please stay way

My stay was not what I expected & the housekeeper did not change my bedding. I stayed for 2 nights. I did not receive any towels for the 2nd day I stayed there. I had to go down to the front desk to receive towels. I was not pleased.

This place has been great so far. I stay there whenever I’m in town. The staff is wonderful, plus the rooms have been renovated since my last stay. It’s been my preferred choice for my last couple of visits to Chicago.

the occupants of one of the three rooms had to move to another room because of strong smell of smoke in the room even tho it was a non smoking room and hair was found in the sheets
the third room's sink was clogged but the owner gave a different room

Nice people at the desk, but the rooms were very broken down with warped floors and stains everywhere. There was a huge construction project in the middle of the space that looked like removing a pool - big open pit. Literal dump.

BathTub had hole leaks onto floor. Also hole in bathroom floor and bathtub floor was rotted along with tub floor. It felt like you could fall through at any moment. You actually sink down into the floor of the bathtub and it feels like nothing is underneath. were mad with sheets and thin shower curtin covers. No blankets and then when we asked for 2 blankets we were told we could have 1 even though we had a room with double beds. We had to stay an extra day, check out time is at 12. When front desk called at 12:02 we said we were staying over and would be at the front desk shortly (room was right next to front desk). I was told to "come right now." Then was called 2 more times and 3 DIFFERENT PEOPLE knocked on the door to tell us check out was at 12, this all happened between 12:02 and 12:28 pm. There were cigarette burns in everything from the curtains and beds to even the towels and shower curtin. Very unsafe guests. Scary place. Not for families or kids.

Available for late booking 4th of July.
Seem to be an old location. Rooms, beds, and equipment need work or replacement. There was construction taking place in some of the areas, which doesn't justify other areas bein messy. It was one of the only few places to book late for 4th of July stay.

The hotel was basically clean and the access to parking was great. Our hotel room was supposed to be non-smoking, but it smelled of smoke. The hotel attendent was nice, but was more interested in us providing a great review than helping us find our room! All in all, the stay was fine, expecially for the price!

Renovation in progress
The room and area we were assigned to was under renovation. The outside was a mess, the inside of the room reeked of fresh paint. We wished we had asked for a change of rooms once we saw the room, but we had not. We thought it was pretty sketchy, but stayed where we were.

the first room we were put in smelled like cigarettes as soon as you walked through the door, it was beyond overbearing. there was also a stain on the bedspread and hairs in the bathroom/table.
we called the front desk to see about getting moved and they were really easy-going about the whole situation. we got moved to a different room no problem, which was MUCH cleaner than the last.
the only thing that sucked was the bathroom sink drain was clogged so it took forever to drain. it was cold at night so when we went to turn the heat on the air coming out of it almost smelled rotten? it was FOUL to say the least. the smell lingered all night, opening the window barely helped

I told her it was already paid through expedia. And then she continued to say i have to pay. My room is dirty. Still had cups and garbage in the trash cans. Smh

The hotel and room itself was fine. It’s a Motel 6 so you get what you pay for—nothing flashy. Other than a TV, don’t expect much for amenities ie bring a hair dryer. The room I was in had low water pressure in the shower. Not a huge deal, but could be for some. My rental car had its catalytic converter stolen in the night while parked in the parking lot. I realize that could happen anywhere in a big city, but this just demonstrates lax building security.

Property under construction for remodeling. Rates for hotel stay are cheapest in area. Simons Restaurant is next door and a strip mall with numerous stores behind hotel. Rooms need to be better cleaned. Recommend only as last resort.

Sorry, I hate to leave bad reviews. But I just have to do this to warn other people from coming here. The whole place feels rundown and scary. Smelled like weed. Room door wouldn’t lock. Not only that, but I think Motel 6’s whole new redesign has really hurt them. The bare tile floors, the new ‘subway look’, it makes the whole place feel cold and not welcoming. I would definitely not recommend this place. Pay a little more and go to the Sheraton four points down the street.

Only thing I can say back is that we were given the address on EAST Roosevelt and it is in fact WEST Roosevelt. Could have saved us 45 minutes in traveling
