Service wonderful, condition poor.
Service was great. Front desk, buffet attendants were so very nice and helpful. Complaint stems from the overall condition of the hotel. Seemed clean enough, but very rough on condition. In our room, the ceiling had something on it that looked dirty and water stains also. Many places overall that needed worked on. That said, I could stay there again if needed. But not on the level I am used to from Holiday Inn.

We arrived in the dark and the lighting in the back parking lot was not sufficient.
The heater/air conditioning unit was so loud we chose to sleep without the air on.

In addition to efficient check-in & checkout, the room & bathroom were clean and very spacious. Unfortunately, we did not experience their breakfast but it looks rather expansive.

Rude, unprofessional staff
I arrived driving a 45 foot RV. They said that I could not park there due to construction. They had not ever worked out an alternate location with parking lots near them. The parking was very limited to begin with even with the lot being empty. They arranged for me to get a room at a sister hotel a block a way. When I requested that one of the female staff to follow me to show her where I thought I could park. (The manager was not present on the property.) she stated that I was ordered to leave the property. When I asked her again to follow me to see if there was a place, she said she was calling the police. then she walked away toward the hotel lobby talking to me but I could not hear her. (This female was short to medium height, long black hair and in her 30's,) I went to the front desk to talk to another lady who explained how she had already confirmed a reservation for me and how to get a refund from hotels.com (excellent)
P.S. I had stayed at this property in June with the same construction issue but was able to park the RV on the property with no problem. A young staff member in his 20s was standing by this entire time. And I walked off he stated that I wasn't at this property during construction.
I believe I was there the night of June 16th.

The property is under construction. The room was clean and serviceable. I am sure that once the construction is complete one wall of the lobby won’t be plywood and the outside of the building will be cleaned up and not covered with scaffolding. All the staff I interacted with were helpful and pleasant.

A good choice off I81
Front Desk staff was very welcoming, room was comfortable, breakfast was quite good and well stocked - including healthy choices. There was construction going on, but it didn't interfere with my stay at all.

Under exterior construction and interior areas are due to be updated next year. Rooms showing signs of age but are clean, plenty of towels, etc.

The property was encumbered by costruction restricting the limited parking and impacting the leisure use of the facilities.
Expedia should have flagged this in the offering as I would have selected another property. For this reason I will use another booking service.

Pool is closed for construction but no advanced notice. When I mentioned I was not aware, they said “ because you booked through hotels.com”. Floors were so dirty, our feet and socks were turned black. The phone was not plugged in. The TV remote batteries were dead. There was a group of smokers/drinkers in the parking lot with chairs. Weird. The breakfast was good

Check in and service was great. Breakfast was better than expected. However, our room was not comfortable. The carpet was damp with humidity to the point we couldn't take our shoes off. Had to turn the AC on high to try and clear it but that was only moderately successful. It wasn't even humid outside, so no explanation for the problem. Avoid room 114!

Affordable, Comfortable, GREAT BREAKFAST!
I have stayed at this specific hotel many times. The HOTELS.COM price is very reasonable, the staff is excellent, the room clean and comfortable, and the BREAKFAST Outstanding! I highly recommend this hotel.

We loved it!
The hotel was wonderful for our family! Very comfortable beds and sheets, clean and accommodating with dove toiletries and a Keurig in the room. Staff was super helpful and kind. Breakfast was fantastic. Will definitely stay again on our next trip.

Outdated hotel but clean and comfortable
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel needs an update. No complaints just an older hotel. Price is high as are most hotels near Virginia Universities. They have parents over the barrel I suppose. Overall a good stay. No complaints.

Nice Hotel
Very nice hotel in a good area right off of highways 460 and 81. 10 minutes to the VT campus and downtown Blacksburg. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and looked to be recently updated. The staff was friendly.

the room was nice and spacious. one staff member was a little mean but the rest were super nice. breakfast wasn’t the best but it was still decent. beds were comfy and pretty soft. pool temp looked like it stayed the same throughout the whole weekend so not too sure if they actually change it. lobby was nice and clean. and the ice machine was pretty cool

Because of my mothers age and physical condition I asked for a room close to the entrance which we were given. They were very accommodating and friendly. The morning breakfast was fabulous and the room was nice and clean.

Great hotel! Service was wonderful!
The lady who checked us in at the front desk was WONDERFUL. Thank you for being so kind and accommodating. Our room was very clean. The breakfast was really good. Our beds were comfortable as well! I would DEFINITELY stay here again. We had a couple maintenance issues but I'm sure they'll get those repaired (running toilet/dripping shower head and some power outlets that didn't work).

We spent a fortune on this stay! Hotels were booked for Parent's weekend at VT. However, this was beyond acceptable! Plumbing leaked all over the bathroom floor, the shower walls wete disgusting with moldy caulk, food splattered in the walls, rusty lights in the bathroom. I have never stayed at such a poor quality hotel room, yet never paid so much at a Holiday Inn! Will never book here again. The staff was lovely, but the condition of the hotel was not. Wish I could share photos...

We were disappointed in this hotel. The staff was pleasant and the breakfast was good, but out room was awful. The carpet was wet although it was clean. The room was on the first floor next to the laundry, so I am not sure if that was the reason it felt damp. The hotel was full, so maybe this is a room that they normally wouldn't use. The bed was uncomfortable. I would not stay here again.

The hotel definitely needs a makeover, peeling wallpaper, water stained shower, black mold on peeled wallpaper near window, ice machine on 1st floor leaking water all over floor, toilet ran all night, no information in room i.e. menus, hotel info, no washclothes or bath towels. The bed was very comfortable & a nice breakfast

I didn't like the noise made by the AC unit and the refrigerator - not conducive to sleeping. Also, someone had a dog on our floor which was barking for awhile. And the fire alarm at 4:52 in the morning didn't help either.

Things are falling apart, never seen a puddle in the tub before. The shower head is loose, the towels are torn. There is a musty smell in the room.

The king bed and pillows were awesome. Newer motel that had some cosmetic issues mostly due to poor quality construction. The room was nice and large. Refrigerator and coffee maker in the room. I would stay again.

What a dump
We’re traveling with our grandson for 11 hrs and we typically stay at Holiday Inn because we trust them. In the first room the bathroom was flooded and the beds were sloppy. There was mold all along the shower. The second was not much better - at least the bathroom wasn’t flooded. We were exhausted and my 9 yr old just wanted to swim a bit, eat and go to sleep. We also were not going to be refunded since I didn’t take the protection from Hotels.com. I took pictures of the room because the rating vs what we had was far different. I’m very disappointed in Holiday Inn and will look at other choices.

Soaking wet room #205 smelled like poop. No refund
The floor of room 205 was soaking wet and smelled like poop. I called the reception, and they refused to do anything. I had no choice but to sleep on a very smelly and wet floor the entire night. The following day, I asked the reception what they could do about it, and the cleaning lady was right there who replied that they had checked and did not find anything wrong there. I asked her to come with me and recheck the room. She did and also called her maintenance guy. I put a towel on the floor the night before, which almost turned yellow from the soaking water. They finally agreed and had me move to a different room.

Liked: Close to Virginia Tech (10 miles); hot breakfast included; friendly and helpful staff.
Improve: Minor upgrades to bathroom (toilet seat for instance). Many plastic recyclable item used at breakfast - does Christiansburg offer recycling, if so, where is the containers?

The room was dirty. Ketchup on the duvet and shower curtain and the pullout had garbage, stains and dirt all over. The General Manager was dismissive and hostile. It was a very unpleasant experience.

Good hotel despite tired lighting and decor
Hotel was well managed and the breakfast was good. Parking was fine. Room was clean. The only negative is the very tired decor and lighting. Pale brown and yellows with dim lighting was very dreary. Bathroom is tired too compared with other hotels for the same price. But overall it's a clean, decent place to lay your head for the night with a nice staff.
