Great stay at Daniels House! I would recommend as it’s super convenient and walkable to most everything in Salem. They did provide parking pass which was awesome as parking in Salem is non-existent and wouldn’t recommend driving. Only negative was that the key pad at front door was a bit tricky and other patrons weren’t closing it properly so it was left open Overnight.

It wasn’t for me but maybe for you
The shared bathroom made me feel like we were spending the night at a friends house. If I caught that in the description I would have probably stayed elsewhere. I may have also missed the part about the low ceilings. At 6’3” I hit my head several times. I can’t review the staff because I never met them. I can’t review the breakfast because we didn’t go to it. The bed was comfortable and the decor of the house was cool. Everything was within walking distance which was cool. If you you don’t mind the shared bathroom I say go for it. If you’re tall I would ask about one of their other rooms (not the Marion room) that may have higher ceilings.

Everything was great. The only thing I would have to say is that they can improve their breakfast. It was just ok. I stayed in the East India room which was great but I would not reserve a room with a shared bathroom ever again. But that is our opinion after having the experience of having to share it with other guest room.

My friend and I traveled to Salem for a brief overnight trip. We could not recommend the Daniels house more. We were assigned to the Great Room which was huge. We also were given access to the private driveway for parking (perhaps that’s the parking space that goes with the great room). The room and bathroom were both very generous in size. The king sized bed was so comfortable we slept so well. When we stayed in Salem it was super hot/humid and they had the room at a wonderful temp upon our arrival. The Inn was also very quiet. I expected squeaky floors with it being an holder home and that wasn’t an issue either. I also loved their check-in, check- out online system. It’s personable, informative, and helpful. We also feel like they vet their guests a bit and every gets a personal code to access the building- it felt very safe to us as well. The breakfast was more like a hotel breakfast but it was perfect. Water, OJ, self serve coffee and house teas, assorted breads, PB and jelly, cream cheese, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit, cereal etc. they also asked if we had any preferences (allergies etc) prior to our stay. We also met the manager and he was so kind and helpful! Would highly recommend and stay there again.

The Marion room was spacious and very comfortable. The room and hall bathroom were spotless. Patrick, the owner, was gracious and gave me a tour of the kitchen and dining room. We were able to walk to the Hawthorne Hotel where we were attending a wedding. All in all it was a very pleasant stay and fun town to visit

Lovely old property in one of the older parts of Salem. Immaculately restored and sympathetically decorated as a historical building. As with all old buildings the floors creak and groan and sound proofing is unmodernised. But heaps of charm, great location, just 5 minutes from the harbour and 12 minutes from downtown by foot.

Daniels House - Salem
Very cool place to stay! Room was just as described online. We did get confused on whether we had to share our 2nd floor bathroom (but No, it was all ours!) Bed was so super comfy. Plenty of room including small fridge, microwave, large bathroom. I will say our Great Room shower was a little tricky (water pressure & temperature were great!) but we struggled showering and not getting the floor wet. Just a heads up for anyone (like myself) that is used to noise while sleeping - Bring a Fan!! It’s very quiet (until you hear your neighbors moving around/coming in and out) But that comes along with the age of this beautiful home! Owners are wonderful & accommodating. Breakfast was simple but awesome! The area/neighborhood around was very pretty & peaceful. We walked everywhere. Really enjoyed our 2 days here!

The Daniels House is a must!
Visited the Daniels House with friends and family for my sisters birthday. Everything was so wonderful. The house is impeccably cared for and the overall vibe is pure magic. It’s in a great location with easy access to all that Salem has to offer. Communication with the property owner was great before, during, and after our stay. My only issue, and I would barley call it an issue, was the bed in the Marian Room. The mattress and bed linens were very comfortable, but the bed itself was very creaky. Taking everything else I to account though, it was very easy to overlook. 10/10 would recommend.

The Daniels House B&B was a lovely place to stay. The home was built hundreds of years ago and still retained much of the charm of that era. Our hosts were very kind and helpful as needed—extra towels.. parking early, etc. One note—on Orbitz the listing does not tell you that if you book the east India room with two double beds that you will be sharing a bathroom with everyone on the third floor. That would have been a deal breaker for us. It was very awkward. With a family of four.. using showers and the bathroom took a lot of time and it’s uncomfortable feeling like you’re putting other people out. Just be aware. Other than that the house was lovely… we would have loved to have taken the tour of the historic home but our flight was changed and our time in Salem was cut very short. We would definitely stay here again but would try for a room with an en-suite.

Beautiful B & B
I loved Daniels house. It is a beautiful B& B. The decor was beautiful with period antiques with the modern comforts (comfortable bed, good lighting, nice tub and tv) The B & B owners were attentive, accommodating, friendly and helpful. I highly recommend a stay here for a romantic getaway. It's location is excellent and you can walk all over Salem if you are so inclined. I will be back. Due to the Corona Virus they aren't doing breakfast instead they give you a 10 $ per person voucher to Red's which was so so good. You won't be disappointed if you choose to stay at Daniels' House.

Perfect stop for a history-minded sightseer!
I loved my stay here this past Thanksgiving; everything from the ambiance to the location was once in a lifetime for a sightseeing trip through New England. The house and rooms have an incredibly tangible sense of history to them, but that doesn't prevent it from being a cozy, comfortable stay, reasonably close to the city center, the waterfront, and some great eats. I do wish I'd learned how to use the in-room fireplace, but the building's heating ensured I never really needed it. Although in-house breakfasts aren't currently an option, the diner that I received vouchers for was wonderful in its own right. If you ever get the chance to spend a night or two in Salem, I can't recommend this property highly enough—though be warned that it gets booked extremely far out in advance during Halloween season and the winter holidays!

Clean, comfortable, historic stay
Beautiful historical home. It was a very easy no contact check in process which was explained thoroughly by email prior to arriving. The vouchers we were given for breakfast were for a restaurant with extremely good food. Our room was very clean and they provided bottled water, towels, and toiletries in the room. This was our first stay at a bed and breakfast so we weren’t quite sure what to expect but we had a great time. We didn’t realize the only way to see the rest of the home is to book a tour, so be sure to do that if you want to see more than just your room and bathroom. Also while it is stated online, be aware that all 3rd floor rooms share a bathroom, this was the only thing I didn’t care for but that being said, we were aware of that when we booked it so we knew what we were signing up for. Excellent location near all the tourist stops but far enough off the path it’s nice and quiet. All in all a great stay, comfortable and clean and we would stay again for sure.

These place is great if you what to stay in old fashion house. The guy that run gives great service. His free tour of the other room is nice and education. Only problem was it call a bed breakfast, but you are only give voucher for restaurant call the red sandwich shop great place to eat even if you don't stay here for ten dollar per person there is no meal on the menu for under ten dollar so you will still have to pay for breakfast plus tip. Only other thing would be nice to have coffee make in the room.

The Daniels House was a beautiful place to stay. When my sister and I arrived, they had everything ready for us, including fresh flowers and a birthday balloon to celebrate my sister's birthday. Everything was clean and beautiful and could not have been a better experience. Before leaving, Vijay gave us an amazing tour through the home and was extremely knowledgeable about the history of not only the home, but of Salem and the 17th century.

Overall nice stay. Great communication from the Daniels House prior to stay. Privilege to stay in a home over 350 years old. The Marion room was spacious, tv, closet, fireplace with nice furnishings. The bathroom is shared by other guests (didn’t like this part). The rooms of the house were locked, sadly never saw the rest in f the house but our room, bathroom and staircases. The website advertised breakfast in the garden (Covid) but after booking notified that no breakfast at all served. They did provide a voucher to Red’s sandwich shop which was excellent! But a walk, if like me I like to have coffee and wake up slowly. So this wasn’t my ideal plan. Not sure why if you can walk to sit in a restaurant you can’t eat at Bed & Breakfast or served in your room? Coffee at minimum. Towels were minimal in bathroom, I could have texted someone but it was 05:30am. Missed the feel of a bed and breakfast. But staff was very nice. No bad vibes here.
