Vending machine didn’t work, but the staff said they couldn’t do anything.
Staff was foul mouthed when she didn’t know a guest had come off the elevator.
Gave them a bad review when they wrote to me and someone called. She didn’t call to fix my problem - but to tell me I was wrong. I’ve never seen such attitudes.
She wanted to have a district manager call me. I told I’d wasted enough time with her on what should have been a minor issue (the vending machine).
I guess the saying it is hard to get good help is true for this hotel.

Sheets were dirty and counter was not clean, I requested new sheets and had to put them on myself. Clean the kitchen area and bathroom floor! Never never going back

Took three tries to get our key cards to work. Must ask front desk if you want supplies for your kitchen. One shelf in closet was completely broken upon arrival. Smell in hallway was horrible and unidentifiable. No regular cream for the 6a coffee.

Check in and out was not complicated, no extra fees for anything, grab and go breakfast was as expected, but they also had hot chocolate so that was great. Place was quiet and comfy.

I arrived after 11 and was chastised like a petulant teen for not calling about my "late check in". I had reserved the room for three days. I was traveling from 4 hours away in heavy rain through traffic, notifying my hotel was the last thing on my mind. After getting the run around I was allowed to check in. The person checking me in actually rather rudely pointed to my cell phone and said, "You have a cell phone, you couldn't call?" The property itself is run down. It's not DIRTY like visible filth, more "worn". There was a strong odor of marijuana in my room and the hallway on the third floor. I had to have my room re-keyed because it stopped working. Doesn't sound like a big deal, but it's a hassle when youre parked in back and can't get in the door. No one ever came to clean my room during my stay or refresh linens. The "grab and go" breakfast is a few packets of instant oatmeal and a couple granola/cereal bars as well as coffee. Was it a HORRIBLE stay, nope. Was it subpar? yes. Will I ever return...no.

This is now my third time being at this property. I could stay at any hotel motel or no hotel but I have chosen to call this place home and all of these hard-working employees verge on being angelic. You are greeted with a smile. They will stop what they’re doing to help you regardless of how big or how small The “Customer comes first“ truly is forthright here. I keep extending my vacation, so I have more time here for peace, quietness, and a piece of a nervana. There is always a tear in my eye when I have to bid this professional and friendly salve for a while.

I would not recommend this for anyone
I got here a few hours ago hoping for a good nights sleep before a big move in the morning and the beds are horrible. Then I finally fell asleep and they start vacuuming in the hallway after midnight. How is anyone supposed to sleep in a hotel that does this?

It was nice, bring your own cooking supplies.
You can tell they Renovated some things in the room it was a nice face lift. The only issues I saw there was burners but no way to cook the food. So bring your own pots and pans. We got a little view. :)

Hit and miss some days
Everything was okay except one of the days I was there I returned to the hotel with my fiancé and there was a used condom in elevator and I tried to ignore it but otherwise decently quiet and decent for short trip. Great customer service though

The room was clean with microwave and refrigerator. Close to shopping centers. Their breakfast was disappointing because they only served coffee, some snacks (one per person), and oatmeal that you need to do by yourself. It has laundry facility but they don't provide or sell detergent, so you have to go to the store to get your laundry supplies.

Stayed the night because my son graduated Navy basic. Just under $100 with two beds. Beds were comfortable and the TV worked. Safe area. The Red Carpet Inn was only $50 and my other son stayed there. It looked safe as well.

Hotel smelled like dog food. Room was on the first floor and you can hear the noise in the parking lot. Cars playing music, people talking... in addition, one of the hotel occupants decided it was a good idea to "sing" (for lack of a better term) at the top of his lungs at 6:30 in the morning. It went on for almost an hour and he ignored my request to be quiet. And the internet connection took for ever to grant access. And once it did connect, (told me my last name was wrong...) it was slow and disconnected several times making it very difficult to work online.

I chose this property for the location, the relationship with a nearby health facility and the morning breakfast. The only thing I received from this list was the location. They no longer have that health club relationship and there is no exercise facility on the premises. The breakfast is a set up in the lobby for a grab and go breakfast with pre-wrapped fast food muffins, granola bars and coffee. Not at all what I was expecting based on past experience of hotels offering breakfast. The room has a basic kitchen with no tools or dishes of any kind. You must ask for every single thing you want from the front desk and then carry it all up to the room. Horrible pillows and a thin blanket. The room was clean but no maid service available unless you pay extra. I'd say one or two notches above camping.

When we arrived, the young man at the desk was very nice. When we got to our room, it had not been well cleaned. We found half eaten bags of chips and other items in the cupboard, and the top cover on the bed smelled so bad I had to take it to the front desk to get another one. I did that the following day and the desk clerk, who was not the same young man as the day before, was extremely rude and even slammed the door going into the laundry area on me when I was trying to talk to him. We did not get a replacement for the item until I went back to the front desk a couple of days later and asked for one. The woman who waited on me then was very nice.
I have stayed at Extended Stay hotels before, and never had a problem until this time. Very disappointing.

It was not properly kept and we brought bed bugs along. The property was musty and the hallways smelled like people were smoking marijuana in their rooms.
I am disappointed Orbitz recommends this sort of property. I personally have stayed in other low cost locations but well kept, nice and clean.

Very basic
The front desk staff was very pleasant, the room was very basic. While there is a kitchen in the room, you must ask for each item needed- plates, dish towel, toaster- everything. The bathroom had one shampoo and 3 towels- everything was very skimpy. I’ve stayed in other extended type hotels that offered much more and felt more comfortable than this place. imagine moving into an apartment with nothing but your suitcase and you gave an idea of what you’re up against. I’m better prepared when I go camping.

Ice machine wasn’t working:( a small inconvenience, but my boyfriend and I had to drive to get some. Office printer wasn’t working for a copy of my statement. The whole hotel just seemed “off” and stretchy clientele hanging out in the parking lot. Overall the price was fair for the stay. I will not be returning.

The room has a full kitchen, however, it is stocked with nothing. Not even paper towels. They explained the reasons for this, and that you were to come to front desk to get what you needed. I didn’t understand why a coffee pot couldn't have been provided without lugging it to your room.
Also the items needed for showering was very limited. Just the small bottle of shampoo. No pool.

Great front desk staff - very friendly. The place is permeated with curry smell - disgusting. Also a lot of mold smells throughout. The advertised breakfast is a bowl of granola bars - with a sign reading "one per person" ... hardly satisfying and a false advert - there is no breakfast

We had to stay as, we were in between houses. Not a real fan on kitchenette, venting system, has little to be desired. The bathroom in our unit, smelled like Indian food. But, other than that room was clean, wasn't too noisy.
The price & location is what drew us to stay.

This is an older building that is lackluster and dimly lit. There was Hair in the bathtub and the first room I was in smelled like smoke. They were sold out - along with all other hotels in the area - and couldn’t move me on the first night. The second room seemed to have an air conditioning that had a hard time keeping up.
Also while not ESA’s fault, I had made a reservation for two queens and it went through as one bed.

I booked a room for two nights through Expedia the hotel over booked so they did not have a room for me so at 11:30 at night after being at a hospital for my dad flying all the way from Florida and the idiot behind the counter rude and disrespectful kinda really upset after dealing with my dads brain surgery and then dealing with a rude disrespectful employee

We had bought a room for seven days. On our first night we was Tuesday we did not arrive until 10 o’clock but I had called ahead the toll-free number and it told them I was running late so they put me on hold and they called ahead to the hotel and said it was no problem . When we did arrive at the hotel at 10 give them our n. When we did arrive at the hotel at 10 PM gave them our name they told us that they had no rooms that they were overbooked. And there was nothing they could do because the booking agency or report them and they said it’s a reoccurring thing. He did call around to try and get us a room by room at State of America was $85 a night I had to drive to Grayslake Illinois to a comfort inn and the cost was $130 for the night stay. Over for I had to drive to Grayslake Illinois to a comfort inn and the cost was $130 for the night to stay. Moving forward I will not stay again at the extended stay or use the website phone number from Expedia ever again very disappointing

It clearly says there is complimentary area shuttle avail at this location which was very important to me. Get to check in and person says never heard of a shuttle. I show him the travelocity website. He says someone on travelocity must be writing false info of the hotel...

The price was great, room was clean and the hotel was quiet so we could sleep. This hotel is set back from Milwaukee Ave so you don't hear as much road noise. Breakfast was just coffee, tea, muffins, granola bars and instant oatmeal.

They pretend to have breakfast on Expedia, or even continental breakfast, not at all. Only grab and go... couple muffins, cofee and crackers ....
Plus there is no daily cleaning of the room. If I wanted some, I would have paid extra.
Also they provide a small kitchen in the room but not plates, cups, glasses or utensils... nothing. You can ask at the desk...

Room was updated and appeared clean however there was a strong musty smell that triggered by allergies. Kept the windows opened the entire stay (4 nights) but the odor was still lingering. Kitchen cupboards and drawers were totally empty - no utensils, plates, glasses. Was I really supposed to request these items? Upon check-in, I inquired about the fitness center, as it was listed that a nearby fitness center was available. I was told there was no such amenity, that there was no fitness center onsite and that they were trying to remove this from 3rd party sites. However, I checked their own website and it states there is an onsite fitness center. Rude hotel guests taking the liberty of taking up 2 spaces to park. Very noisy guests upstairs - can hear them walking/stomping above me. Guests smoking right outside the doors when there are signs that smoking near entrances are prohibited. Breakfast was uninspiring - instant oatmeal and granola bars. Coffee was decent - but no lids for the coffee cups. Disappointed overall and definitely not worth the money spent. I will not be staying at this location again. Lesson learned - if there is an amenity important to you, call the hotel directly and double check before booking.

Super value in a nice area
Everything was nice, room was clean, the bed was not as comfortable as I'd like but I'm choosey. For the price, it was an extreme value!
