Very good value, comfortable.
Very good value. Comfortable bed, good room layout. Exceeded expectations. Weather was not great so didn't want to venture far for dinner. As low key as the pub in the same building is, it as a great beer list (and attracts those serious about beer - believe me, better than other college pubs) and while the menu simple, it is enough. Would stay here again when visiting UW.

Stayed in a private room for 6 days, and had a wonderful experience! Check-in was easy and the staff was super friendly, room was clean and well stocked with towels, outlets, water cups, fan, and a smart TV, and the upstairs common room was a great resource for coffee and tea. The College Inn Pub below the hotel was also a great place to grab a quick beer with super friendly staff. Highly recommend!

Lovely stay
Stayed for the weekend with teen daughter. Very close to UW planetarium, Henry Art Gallery, the Burke Museum, dining, and shopping. My teen really likes the College Inn, I’m sure we will be back. Remember it’s a historic building, 1909, so there are stairs.

Four words can sum up this property - both for good and bad.
Stairs: building constructed before ADA requirements - no elevators anywhere and so you will quickly have to learn to love steep staircases - definitely a factor if you're bringing a lot of luggage, because there's are no staff around to help you - which brings us to...
Nobody: a "real" hotel has someone on site 24 hours a day, but here the staff is more noteworthy for their absence - very similar to an AirBnB - no one monitoring the front door and no one to help with room problems - for short stays no housekeeping at all, for long stays housekeeping once a week.
Location: on the plus side, excellent access to mass transit and U of Washington - a very walkable and pleasant neighborhood.
Restaurants: more different kinds of food, and more restaurant storefronts along University Way than I have seen in any other city - cheap student food mostly ordered at counters (tip jars at the registers) but you could probably spend a month here just eating.
There are about 6 hotels in this U District area - if budget was the only concern then I might book this one again - otherwise I would put it at the bottom of the list, since it's just one step above an AirBnB or hostel experience and I prefer a hotel that's a "real" hotel which an engaged staff and more control over who's coming and going.

1. The common areas are CLEAN!
2. The shared bathrooms are CLEAN!
3. The room is CLEAN!
4. The private toilet is CLEAN!
5. The towels are CLEAN!
6. The hotel staffs are friendly!

They charged me an additional $240 a night for a 2nd night I never authorized and told me they had to check with housekeeping to find out about it. I wouldn’t trust them at all. My college student is poor and needed a place to stay. Buyer be aware!!

Friendly staff nice room but despite lots of power cords no usb ports, which are standard now on most if not all power cords . Hello. 2023 calling. Lotta good free wifi will do you if your phone conks out.

A quaint and charming euro-style hotel right in the U-district. I love the character of this place and that you are close to downtown Seattle without being right in the downtown core. No onsite parking but there's usually lots of street parking, even though parking is quite expensive during the day. My favorite part about this hotel is the cushioned bench seat that runs along the window of each room. Great place to bask in the sun on a nice warm day. One of my favorite places to stay in Seattle!

Quaint, nicely updated, and convenient to campus. We were able to walk to Washington University in under 7 min, and enjoyed easy access to coffee shops and casual dining as well as the 1 Line. Looking forward to returning!

Loved my stay here! it is at the heart of U district close to UW Seattle campus. Lots of food and restaurants nearby and is 11 minutes away walk from the U district light rail link station that can transport you to other parts of Seattle such as Capitol Hill, the SEATAC airport and more

this is the hotel closest to the UW campus. That's the reason we chose to live for 2 days before my DH moved into the dorm. The place is clean, there is a kitchen on the 4th floor, convenient. suggest to reserve the parking in advance.

I loved the history of the Inn and the pub. Great fun at the pub. Easy access to food and transportation anywhere in the city. Comfortable and great price. Staff was accommodating and friendly.

It’s hard to judge the property because the electricity was out the whole time we were there. We were on the third floor with no elevator. The property is not far from the University of Washington Hospital and took us 15-20 minutes to walk there.

Although the room is beautiful and the beds are way better than the last two three star hotels we have stayed at, because there is no AC we had to keep the windows open (during the summer) and because there is a bar downstairs, we could hear people's conversations outside the hotel.

Very good Euro style Inn
My stay was very good. I got used to the common shower which was very clean. The room was very comfortable. The location of the Inn was great for my stay. As long as I am traveling solo, I would stay there again.

Old, Historical Hotel
The hotel was an old historic building located in the University area in European style. All rooms are up 2-3 stories of steps and there is no elevator. I don’t know what we would have done without the great young lady at the check-in who helped us with our bags. If interested in history, maybe stay there. But if accustom to American hotels with all the amenities, this is not the place for you.

Our room at The College Inn was great - plenty of space and very clean. I would have rated higher, except for a couple of issues. I had reached out the week before our stay to ask about a parking pass and see if there was any way to pick up our room key early (I was going to be nearby a couple of hours earlier than check in, but wouldn’t actually need to be in the room until late they night, so I didn’t think to ask for early check in). I quickly got a reply that we were approved for parking and a late check in, but no mention of whether we could pick up the room key early. I didn’t push further, but it was just a little off putting that the question went unanswered. We ended up getting the parking pass early and got instructions for late check in.
When we came back after our event, we tried following the late check in instructions, but couldn’t understand which key pad to enter the code in. Unfortunately we ended up waking up the after hours support to help us get into the building. I felt terrible, but a little more clarification/detail in the instructions would have been helpful.
Lastly, I was left a slip to sign to approve payment for our room, but there were no pens in the room and I didn’t have one on me. I had to walk down to the lobby and back up to our room on the third floor. Minor inconvenience, but most lodging establishments usually leave a pen and notepad in the room.

This was my first time staying at the College Inn and it was great. Very nice rooms, comfortable and quiet. Bath down the hall was no issue for me and it was clean and roomy. The Loft was really nice, as was the coffee shot at street level. Glad I stayed and I’d stay again!

I upgraded my room at check in time, but was mistakenly rebooked for only 1 night instead of the 3 from my reservation. The next day the manager was unwilling to refund me, and even charged an upgrade fee which I wasn't charged with during the upgrade time additionally. Very stressful having to switch hotels midway thru my trip and lose about 400$

2 nights stay is enough
It's a heritage building with new renovation, close to public transportation and restaurants. The bathroom is large but the standing shower aera is tiny. No air-conditioning in the room so can be a problem in summer with fans only.

Wow! We had a great time. Fancy bathroom! We really enjoyed the top floor common area/kitchen/dining/lounge. It was very nice and seemed like we had it mostly to ourselves. I prepared a few meals! We really enjoyed our stay. We did a walking tour of UW, my daughters enjoyed the Ave, the Burke Museum was amazing. Enjoy!

Messed up key for late check-in
Did late check-in, but key was programmed wrong, so I couldn't get into my room. Had to wake up the night manager and get him to fix the key.
Fine otherwise. "European-style" hotel should really brand themselves as a hostel.

Cool historic hotel
Cool historic hotel. Very clean and quiet except for the creaking floors and walls which is part of the 100+ year old character. Bed was comfortable. Will definitely stay here again.

Perfect location for enjoying UW and the University District. More of a hostel format. Some private bathrooms but you have to request them and pay extra. TV and bed but no dressers or closets. Comfortable bed. Strong WiFi. Secure building. Limited staffing in evenings. Walk-up so be prepared for stairs.

I really liked staying here. The loft on the top floor is great, I was able to get my own breakfast and eat at the tables, as well as hang out on the couches after work and drink some tea. The beds were very cozy.

not much to like. furniture was scarred and in poor condition. Mirror leaning against the wall. the only two outlets that worked were being utilized by the fan and the desk light. The other outlet on the opposing wall had some serious mounting issues. When I got there after 9pm had a difficult time getting in. Once in I went to my room and opened the lock. No Key Card but at least there was the blue tab to open my room.

Cool old hotel! Staff was nice, lots of good food around, the shared bathroom is clean and not at all an issue. Didnt see one other human the whole time! Would definitely come back again!

This is a really cool old hotel. The rooms are perfectly clean and have a sink inside each room, but the shared bathroom definitely limits those willing to walk everytime they need to go to the bathroom. Definitely not kid friendly.

The high price is obviously due to the location and proximety to campus. Now that I've stayed...i will not book again and instead would pay the same price at a nicer place that may just be a little further of a walk. Building is old and historic and it shows but its been kept in decent condition considering. Convienent having the Pub in the basement. Old but clean and friendly basement bar.

Perfect location close to campus
The location was perfect for our trip for a Washington football game as it is very close to campus and nightlife. The staff was very friendly. The bed was very comfortable and I really enjoyed the large window seat in our room. The common area on the fourth floor was a nice bonus. I would definitely stay here again if I ever make it back to the area.

Employees not so happy at the hotel
The location was very nice. The rooms were good. The employee attendant at the front desk was very unprofessional and seemed annoyed that we were there. We called ahead for hotel parking and was told it was full. Turns out that there are only 3 parking spaces. Overall for the expensive price would have liked a little better service.
