This property was awful. There was marijuana smoke in my room; the lights were flickering, the stopper was missing from the stink, the ironing board didn't have a cover, the key card didn't work for the elevator, the front desk was so rude. The front door didn't lock and I had to go to another hotel three days into my visit because there was no maintenance to fix it! Will never stay there again!

The hotel changed my rates that I booked through Expedia without notifying me. And they refused to get it back even after involving Expedia customer care.
TBH, It was horrible check out experience.
As for the hotel…
Location: good.
Age: very outdated hotel...very!
It messed our Miami’s vibes.

It was an ok place. The room felt cool and no blankets. The bed was ok. I didn’t like that there was no mini fridge and I think the mini bar is an outdated concept. Beach was very nice.

There was an issue with check in that was resolved quickly by the staff who were very nice but it was still a jarring situation. I would have hoped they did a bit more than just move my room but the circumstances were strange so not sure the specifics. Also, had loud neighbors. When I called the hotel, they sent security up immediately so appreciate that.

Stayed at the Royal Palm several times. The prices are good. It's more like a boutique hotel, small but comfortable and clean. It could use some upgrades. I would definitely recommend and I would stay again. It's close and in walking distance to many stores, restaurants and other attractions.

Love RP but PLEASE...get rid of the mini-bars :-(
I've lost track on the # of times we've stayed at RP & obviously LOVE it!
With that, GET RID OF THE MINI-BAR!! It's such a dated concept & for the 2024 traveler, the vast majority would prefer a refrigerator/microwave to heat up leftovers, vs a laughable charge for a soda. There are liquor stores & a CVS/Walgreens within a 2min walk of the property...there's ZERO need for a mini-bar.
I'd honestly prefer you add 'x' to the cost of the room to offset whatever minimal loss in revenue, to have the convenience of a place for leftovers.
Instead, we find ourselves filling the sink w/ ice & having to leave items in there (this is obviously inconvenient, especially when the ice machines weren't working on our floor or the one below (9th & 10th floors...so we had to go down 2 floors to retrieve ice).
Will we stay there again? Absolutely!!
That being said, PLEASE get rid of this antiquated practice.

Location is close to beach and very walkable.
However hotel was very disappointing. Room was very poor , old furniture, poorly made upgrades. Bed was very noise . Getting out to use bathroom it was crackling so loud that the other person woke up as well. Ice machine wasn't working. Breakfast wasn't great as well. Most of the plates and utensil ware dirty or cracked. My 1st plate of breakfast from buffet had a hair in it . Coffee cup saucer had a huge chip and 2nd cup of saucer came with egg stain on it . While using the bathroom area of Breakfast facility there was no soap in all 4 sinks. Overall hotel was very disappointing and would never visit again not recommend to anyone! The only reason I would rate it as 2 is the Location!

Unexpected Resort Fees: Unjust Charges for Limited
I was unexpectedly billed hidden fees. I settled the full price, including a security deposit at the hotel. However, upon checking out, I was informed of an extra charge of $33 per day for the 'beach and resort,' despite having already paid for a beach umbrella and only utilizing the facilities twice during my seven-day stay. This felt like a blatant case of overcharging.

Called in and advised for late check in. When got there our room was not available. Had to wait. No comps for inconvenience. But when asked to check out later. Was denied. Overpriced food, coffee, drinks. Pools could be more clean.

The property was pretty cool. Good vibes . What I didn’t like was a random man walking into my room while I was sleeping. Scary situation and reason why I lock my doors. Unfortunately this happened early in the afternoon after my flight.

Can’t beat this location!
They should improve the creaky bed.
The housekeeper assigned to my room must have been in a hurry, they just pulled the covers instead of making the bed and didn’t sweep the room.
Overall it was great place to stay, but parking was $50 a day. Park in the parking garage accords the street instead for $20 a night.

Pros: wonderful food options and walkable around the town. Beautiful views. Very nice pool area, helpful staff.
Cons: Someone really messed up with the t.v. installation. We didn't come to Miami to watch t.v., but sometimes in the evening you want to watch a little bit before bedtime. The t.v. is mounted and fixed on the wall meaning that it does not sway out to angle it towards your view. And, it's mounted two feet to the left of the bed which is absolutely ludicrous as far as being able to watch it.
The parking is $50 a day!! There is a parking garage one block away that is $20 a day so look for your choices. I am also dismayed by hotels new "trap" of snacks that have sensors under them so "even if you pick it up to look at it....you will be charged for the item!" Wow! Astonishing!

great location. nice public areas. Rooms leave a lot to be desired with cumberson huge minibar no refrigerator so if you dont want the crap in the mini bar you have no place to keep your own things cool. Horrible old mattress from 70's, we were doing the art fair so we were not able to use beach or resort area closed when we were at hotel but we were still charged a 30$ a day resort fee.

I had been in this hotel in the past and had been a very practical and clean one and well located. In comparison to my last stay (4years ago) I noted that the facilities in the bathroom has Declined and could be better. Still is a good hotel to stay for a conference. Didn’t have the chance to use facilities like beach or swimming pool and was charged the right to use.

The location was great, easy access to shopping and great places to wonder. Keith at the pool bar was great, very helpful. The room was nice and the staff at check in was wonderful. Very impressed.

Our experience
When arrived, they sold valet and struggled to tell us about parking across the street. Stayed in a double room and the beds were stiff, there was mold in the shower, the closet door got stuck on the ground when opening and the cooler was jammed w buy me beverages. For our own beverages, we leveraged the recycling bin as a cooler and used the ice machine frequently.

The final price ended being the same you’ll get at Marriott website. They add fees etc etc
The hotel needs room renovation. Bathrooms have stains and not clean with a lot of mold everywhere.

This property had a leaking roof all throughout the stay and a bad sewer smell. They failed to repair or accommodate us after complaining multiple times. I DO NOT recommend staying at this hotel.

BEST HOTEL IN THE AREA.
Clean, close to beach and shopping. Friendly staff. The most bang for your buck. Drinks are $25.00 at the lobby bar. But the Bartender is the best 💯💯👍👍👍. Super cool. I don't remember her name but she has long black hair and from Atlanta GA. Had a great time. One night we stayed at the bar until it closed. Had a blast. BEST HOTEL IN THE AREA HANDS DOWN.

A modest price you get a modest room.
The room was not clean, our TV didn’t work and there was no soap or toilet paper.
TP was brought up to the room right away, TV never was fixed.
Once we went down to the pool it was BEAUTIFUL. Staff throughout the hotel was pleasant and really efficient.
Beach was not clean and the lounge chairs and umbrellas look like they was been through war compared the neighbours chairs at the Loews.

The property is updated, however, they slapped some modern furniture and updates on an old and unkept building. Freshbpaint over water leaks, mold. Our ocean view windows were so dirty you could hardly see through them. The showers leaked into the bedroom. Balcony is rotting. Floors were retimed, but dirty. The modern barn door on the bathroom was broken and did not close. Not enough linens. Beach chairs and umbrellas in poor condition. Ripped and cratered. Poor mattress quality.

Friendly staff and reasonable room rate.
The lobby is really nice and modern.
Unfortunately the room was tired and worn. The furniture was chipped and scratched up. The window was dirty. The restroom smelled of sweat and urine. Not sure how it got an 8 rating.
Parking was $52 plus a surprise $33 destination free that didn’t include the tax.

Our stay was not all that great. We had three rooms. The TV on two of the rooms were not working. No one came to fix it. I will have to call for a partial refund.

After using the hot tub, my bathing suit was bleached. My skin is now also very dry. If the chemicals found in the hot tub were strong enough to bleach my bathing suit, it clearly was not healthy for my skin.
The hotel manager refused to do anything about it and refused to compensate me for my bathing suit.
Kids also use the hot tub. I see this as a health hazard.
I will not stay here again. Please be careful.

Every hotel on the beach is pretty much the same. Rooms can be bigger or smaller with price tags in the thousands or the hundreds. So what makes the difference are the people (and the gym). Christopher and Isabell are what make this hotel the best!

I actually thought that this place was a bit underrated. We usually stay at places which are 5 star and when unavailable, 4 star rating. Many times we book stays in most places, the photos look different and the rooms aren’t as advertised. This was not the case. The hotel has a private pool area which was friendly for our 10 year old and there were others there at age 5 as well.
Thanks for Abdiel (Doorman), we felt at home as he said hello each and every time he saw us around the property.

Didn’t care for this property. A lot of things were old & rusty. The Shower was filthy & looked like it wasn’t cleaned at all. There was dirt & scum around the shower. A couple of the lights in my room weren’t working. The staff were nice & helpful but the property wasn’t appealing

They charged my card several times after leaving the property, for services for another room When I arrived another guest was having the same problem. I believe someone at the front desk are creating these charges hopping you won’t catch it. Also took hours to get in contact with the correct person .

The staff were so incredibly nice. The room was clean. One thing was there was no on-site parking you either had to pay for valet or park at public parking garage and it was very expensive. Breakfast was not included. Over all the location of the hotel was perfect.

Enjoyed visiting the Royal Palm. The hot tub and pools were great. It was nice to walk out on to the beach with tbe complimentary lounge chairs. The bartenders were friendly.
Disappointed the ice machine on the 15th floor was out.
