Dirty Room & Loud Neighbors

I'm coming in Sumter for work and I always prefer to stay here. I've tried other hotels, but this remains my favorite. The staff, the rooms... everything it's better here...

It was acceptable for the price. Only issues were, dead large bug in room, Ice Maker did not work, and sheets and towels are very ruff. But I would stay again for the price. I felt safe and staff was nice.

Alright hotel
Good hotel. Room smelled like cigarette smoke so my clothes smelled like cigarette smoke the next morning. I saw one roach in the bathroom and ended its life. Because of the price, the hotel draws a certain kind of people that seem to want to be loud at night outside while others are trying to sleep. Other than that, it was an alright hotel to sleep and leave. Nothing special.

Found things inside the room that could have harm my babies. Do not recommend this hotel at all. Especially checking in they wanted to change it without me know & adding things to it. Like I only had enough on my card for what I booked and they didn't take it. Will not stay there again or any super 8 hotel.

I've been staying at this property when visiting my hometown for years now. Over the past couple of years I have seen the service and condition of the property degrade drastically. My last visit I traced the cord from the non working lamp to behind the bed where I saw the jacket stripped away from the plug and the outlet in the wall loose with the cover plate missing. A very safe condition which I reported to the office but have a feeling they'll do nothing about it.

I like that the hotel is around lots of business, restaurants and gas stations. McDonald's and Dollar General is within walking distance. The prices are reasonable and rooms are decent size.

Not advertised correctly.
Still no breakfast or pool, even though it is advertised in the hotel description. One of the main reasons we stayed here..... It was okay for a one night stop while driving with family, but I wouldn't stay there more than a night.

I liked it was across the street from the Mall and next door to McDonalds. Since they are not serving Breakfast like they advertised, I had to walk next door to get breakfast in the morning.
I could not sign into their Wi-fi, not sure why I don't usually have this issue but it was so late I just gave up. I did like the TV was hung up on wall and high enough you could see it. Not the same level of the bed where you break your neck tying to watch. Very nice room, I would stay there again if I get sent back to that area.

I made my reservations a few weeks in advance because of the upcoming 4th of July weekend. My family and i drove all the way from Atl, GA to check in to this hotel, only to find out that we didn't have a room. It was a little after 10p when we got there due to traffic on the road, but that's expected. I even had my confirmation # that was generated after i made the reservation. The only thing she coule say was that hotels.com over booked their rooms.
I have never had an issue booking thru hotels.com and in fact, i find comfort in booking thru them.
The location of this hotel is in a great spot and within walking distance of everything. That's why i choose this place. Due to the holiday weekend, it took us quite some time to find other rooms to accommodate us because just about everything was booked up.
Despite the odds, we still had a good time.

We just needed a place to shower and sleep for a few hours while my boys were racing at the RC track down the street. The bathroom was pretty gross but I cleaned it before we used it. The air conditioner was SO loud. Honestly for the price and what we needed, it worked. However there are many other options close by, so if we return I will looking for a place I don’t have to clean before using.

Save your time, money, and sanity. This hotel is disgusting and loud. Checking in, the front desk agent was rude and rushed, even though there were no other customers. I had parked in the veteran space (I actually am a vet) and he came outside and literally yelled at us to move spaces. Later, a male guest came and parked in that spot with no issues. We got to the room, which was disgusting. It was non smoking, but smelled very strongly of weed and cigarettes. The counters were dirty, the mini fridge had multiple spills inside, and the bathroom was awful. The shower looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. The bathroom door wouldn’t even shut properly. Bugs inside the room, crawling on the bathroom counter and the window curtains. Going to bed that night, we had no actual blankets just the comforter. We asked the staff for extra blankets and they acted like it was the hardest request in the world. Complaining the whole time and only gave us ONE blanket because they “aren’t allowed” to do more than that. The whole night (12am-630), people were in the parking lot blasting music that literally vibrated the windows. After checking out the next day, we were charged an extra $50. I called and asked why and the manager, Chris Patel, said we were MISSING BLANKETS IN THE ROOM. I explained we weren’t given any to begin with and he said “we have proof you were given a blanket.” I tried to explain the situation and he was extremely dismissive and disrespectful. Don’t waste your time.

Non smoking room means it has previously had smokers, but they have tried to mask it with some sort of scent. We had two rooms and this was the case for both. Basically a bad smell. Both rooms were in need of repairs and deep cleaning: stuff splattered on the walls, holes in Sheetrock, and faucets that leak water onto the countertops, to name a few.
Also, don’t be fooled about breakfast or a pool, because they are closed. Everything is blamed on COVID, despite recent changes in national policy.

The stay was ok
The stay at this hotel was average, at best. The room wasn't terrible, simply old. The feel of the room was very 70s-80s feeling in age and looks, and the beds were quite uncomfortable.
Overall, the stay was simply a place to lay my head for a few days while I was in town, and it served its purpose well.

Overall, the stay was about what you'd expect for a hotel of this kind. Not perfect, but not horrible. Room was okay, bed was comfortable, living space was clean. One of the lights didn't work, and the TV was difficult to use -- TV barely responded to the remote. All local broadcast affiliates were out or spotty except ABC Columbia.
Bathroom was okay with the exception of the shower -- showerhead was disgusting, had what was either mold or mildew all over. The showerhead was mounted on the wall via a temporary mount that kept falling off.
No major problems with staff or anything, folks were friendly in the few encounters I had with them, albeit one was a bit difficult to understand.
Leaving the hotel by car was a nightmare if I wasn't heading towards downtown Sumter, and getting into it from downtown was also a nightmare. Traffic is heavy on Broad and there are few opportunities to cross to get into the hotel.

Mine bathtub after I took a shower was stopped up they had to come and fix it twice. I was supposed to get HBO the HBO did not work from the day I got there to the day I left I should have got some sort of refund because of that but I didn't they need to change the floor rug it's like three different colors and it's only supposed to be one I don't think I ever go there again at least not to that one

I would not recommend this hotel to no one. The bathroom was really nasty had pub hairs in the tub and the toilet was filthy on the bottom and all around the floors of the bathroom was nasty and the room had a horrible smell. I had to use cleaning products and clean it to even sit on the toilet and they put us by the highway so it was noisy all night it might look decent from the outside but I can assure you it is very outdated and filthy

For the price, this is a good place to stay. The daily cleaning was good, and the staff were great. My only suggestions involve routine maintenance. The electrical outlet behind the bed was loose and there was visible wear to the furnishings. Shower grout was black, and both the shower and sink leaked. Desk but no chair. I had a handicap accessible room, and if I were seriously disabled, this room wouldn't work--tub was not wheelchair accessible and did not have a non-slip bottom. I had to put a towel in the tub to keep from slipping.

Manager and staff were friendly. Sheets and towels were clean. Rest of bedding poor condition. Toilet was clean but didn't flush well. Sink and tub were clean but rest of bathroom was very dirty. Shower rod about to fall off and the towel rack did fall off. The worst part was the continuous line of young hookers going in and out of the room next to us. The fist two evenings there was a car running outside for a few hours with very young kids in it. Clearly waiting for "mom" to finish work. Our impression was that the manager must have know what was going on. Expedia, you should remove this facility from your list.

I'm pretty sure the AC unit and bathroom vent fan were haunted. They both made the same noise that sounded like the unison screams of the souls of other suckers who'd stayed in that room before.
The table in the room was BARELY holding on with very visible hardware that was clearly purchased at the Harbor Freight down the road.
Custodian refused to be of help to a guest having a seizure in one of the rooms by say "No speak English", though he was in eyeshot of the guest having the seizure. I called 911 in his place.
Considering all that, their breakfast was reasonably good. Since everything else left a bad taste in my mouth.

I always stay here when I visit my daughter in Sumter. The staff is very friendly. The main building where you can have breakfast is the drawback. There is only one small table and a few chairs. Ate out most of the time anyway.

The hotel was dated and needs some tlc on the outside. The inside was fine. The carpets and bedding were clean and fresh. The room was very clean. I was there for a week visiting friends and the staff gave me fresh towels daily and asked if I wanted everything else done. If I wasn’t there they did clean the entire room. It is a budget motel though. Not many extras and no frills to speak of. If you’re on a budget or don’t want to spend extra money on frills you don’t care about I highly recommend it.
