EXPECT ZERO HOSPITALITY. There was a lady at the front desk when I checked out. She was helpful and polite but just seemed sad- no smile and a downcast demeanor. That was my BEST exchange with the staff. When I checked in, the man at the front desk rarely made eye contact, and was hard to understand because he mumbled. I had to ask him to repeat himself three or four times which was met with an attitude of annoyance. Meanwhile the answer I needed him to clarify was important information. He told me where my room was located but not where the elevators were located, only directing me after watching me struggle to find them. He seemed annoyed that I was confused. Another staff member seemed annoyed when I was confused about where the coffee in the lobby was.

Would stay again.
We visited for a concert at the space center. This hotel was Very conveniently located and able to walk to everything you need including our event. The guy at check in seemed crabby but the rest of the staff was great! The breakfast buffet was not very tasty and not worth the money. Overall experience was great.

I always feel a little duped when you book a hotel and get charged for parking (except in places like NY where you rarely come by car. Exactly what happened on this stay.
Other than that, the hotel is very good, and the area is amazing.

Short family overnight for basketball & shopping
Perfect for our overnight stay as a family to see two basketball games Northwestern and Loyola. Easy access to the L. Easy affordable parking. Great walkability for food, shopping, fitness and the L. Comfy and cozy with a view. One door from the parking ramp needs to be repaired and fitness center a bit small. All else was excellent.

Don’t JoJo hotel by its looks.
The location was great. the lobby and the hotel was very pleasing to the eye. The front desk service was absolutely non-acceptable. They did not make you feel welcome, none of them smile, and when approached because we had no tissue in our room or toilet paper, there was never I’m sorry about that. They just went behind the counter and got it and handed it to me. The Keurig coffee pot in our room did not work, there were lightbulbs burnt out that were not replaced, and the last day we were there we had no housekeeping service, and we were out of towels. I give the housekeeping an F and I give the front desk a D minus.

Check in staff was extremely friendly and efficient. I was able to check in 2 hours early. Not a fan of the entrance to the parking garage. Ramp is very steep and very tight for two way traffic.

A good and reasonably priced hotel option for Evanston: clean, comfortable, well staffed. Our only complaint – a minor one – was that the "shower tower" in the tub wouldn't stay in place, and kept sliding down, and I had to keep it up with tape.

First time in Evanston
It was nice. Sweet view from my eighth floor window. Very clean. Well furnished.
No exhaust fan in the bathroom was rare and lacking.
I felt financially challenged by the additional parking fees (felt like that should be included in the cost).
Also I was charged more than my receipt showed. I was charged $209.73 and my receipt showed $195.73.
Also felt harassed by the cleaning staff before checkout time and hurried out of my room (receipt through the door).

The area the property is in is fine. The hotel was quiet but when I arrived I was given a room when to the room and was met with a space that was never ckeaned from the last occupant. I quickly returned to the front desk and was given a new room. That room was so-so, the ottoman had two very big noticeable staines on it. Finally, I was told at check-in that everything was paid for ( which I knew) but the hotel would hold a $ 50 incidentals fee on my card, okay I get that.My stay was only 1 night. I left Tuesday morning it is now Friday and I'm noticing that fee is still on my card. I'm kicking myself for not taking pictures Tuesday morning before I left- nothing was out of order, so I don't know WHY that charge is still pending.

Tired and showing it
The room is spacious and servicable. A great price and location for the hotel. There is no true step free access unless you ha e a car... The ramp to street level is much too steep to even walk. The sheets and towels were clean in my room, but nothing else. Sticky counter tops and bedside tables. All the cheap LED screw in lamps were failing and blinking. Good thing I don't have epilepsy.

Room and facilities were top notch in general. Paid extra for the breakfast and it was…mostly ok. No bowls for cereal or oatmeal and the hot water to make oatmeal or tea or whatever was cold. PUT A MICROWAVE IN THE BREAKFAST AREA. How hard is that?

The overall strength of this stay was the staff. We arrived in a 15’ U-Haul and was unable to park in the provided garage. The staff (at checkin) recommended parking on the street.
Unfortunately, our time expired and when we went to pay in order to legally park into our departure the parking meter was closed. The evening staff member recommended parking (free) at the park - saving us from a ticket and stressful evening. His advice was PERFECT.
Though the property is beginning to show its age (old TV’s, room furniture, refrigerator, etc.) your STAFF made the trip for us.

The staff were very nice, but the room was not very clean. The sheets and towels were cleaned, but there were brown streaks on the wall, oil stains on the chair, the windows were filthy and I paid extra for a view, the floors were filthy- they need more than a vacuum- I didn't want to be bare foot in the room.
The staff were very helpful. I have no complaints in that regard, but I will not stay here again. I travel to this area frequently, but I'll probably stay away from IHG properties after this trip all together. 1000$ for 3 nights in an unclean room, nope.

Our room was dirty and smelled horrible upon arrival and not cleaned the following day. When asked, we were told at the desk that they would mention it to the manager. When we checked in, we were told that breakfast was complimentary but charged $10 per person at check out. I would not recommend to anyone.

Property: extremely noisy (hear trains passby every 20 minutes), unsafe parking lot, dirty carpet throughout (hallway, elevator and room), no one at reception area after 6 pm, worn out furniture, missing light bulbs, dirty towels, bathtub doesn't drain properly, AC extremely loud.

The toilet in our room didn't work for most of our stay. When they finally sent a technician up, he was super helpful and friendly and did fix it. There was an issue with the dates of our booking, and the woman at the front desk acted unnecessarily hostile about it. A male employee and a manager did try to help us out. The mattresses here are not great and a loud train goes by (though you get used to it), but it is an excellent location for visiting Northwestern. Very walkable.

Maintain your rooms. Crack in window, air/heat unit leaking and coming out of the window-discovered late Friday night. Insulation from unit visible underneath. Night person tried to help- no rooms available, so she gave towels and offered breakfast coupon which I declined as I already had breakfast plans.
Options to change rooms the next morning limited by staff, offered king when originally reserved double, and this was only after maintenence said we needed to switch rooms. Was told that was the only option or wait until 4p check in to see if double was available. Saturday morning staff acted as if the request was a bother. The gentleman at the counter was rude. I opted for the king to make the most of my weekend, and was actually told "there were no extra charges" for the switch. Are you kidding?

Super nice area 10 min away from the lake! Tons and tons of dining options - love that! Room itself was nothing special, but very clean and suuuuper spacious. Only downside is that parking garage was weird to find at first, but once I found it, it was super convenient. Staff is amazing!

I'd rather stay in a roach motel
We had to walk to the 12th floor since the elevator wasn't working, the first room we were given was occupied already, the door didn't work properly on the second one, they were doing maintenance on the water line - but didn't tell us at check in - we got a note under our door AFTER the maintenance window started, the water was cold after the maintenance was over - for the remainder of the evening, then we lost all water pressure in the shower and the shower head broke! I would rather stay in a motel that just looks like you're going home with roaches and bedbugs.

Good hotel, poor check-in.
The hotel is fine and location is excellent. Check-in was disappointing, the front desk lady acted reluctant to help, no eye contact and when I told her about a vehicle in the parking garage with a light on, she did not respond or try and help though I asked her to twice.

Parking and breakfast are extra. The room is small. However, the room is very clean and the beds are comfy. It also has Dove line of toiletries. Self parking on site for $18 a day. Five minutes walk to Target and many restaurants. About 10-15 walk to Northwestern.

Cleanliness was a concern. Only one elevator working. I was told breakfast ended at 11:00 but it ended at 10:00. Insufficient gym equipment. Also, I was approached outside by a hooker.

Great stay.
Staff was very helpful in locating purchases I made and had shipped to the hotel for my daughter's move-in to Northwestern. Gave my daughter some friendly college advice. Place was clean and check-in was easy. Walkable to eateries and Target.

I enjoyed myself for the most...until night number two offered a walking/flying critter across my pillow. So I totally couldn't sleep after that. And to calm my nerves I needed ice. I had to travel to another floor for that in the wee hours.

Front desk check in was fine and friendly. The room was fine, although a bit tired (no updated charging options, etc.) No vending options on the 9th floor. The water container in the lobby was empty by noon and never refilled. The pool area is not nice…very outdated and dirty.
